At the start of this year I bought some random knock off samsung earpods, they were relatively cheap at 7,000 naira (at that time it was 9 dollars). They worked really well, and honestly I started to believe they may not be so fake. But then along the line it started to fall apart slowly. First the small silver piece at the bottom fell out, and then one day it fell and the pieces flew out. I managed to reassemble it, and it was working perfectly but then I noticed one ear was no longer staying perfectly in the case to charge. I had to start using a rubber band to hold it in place. This was when I realized I needed a change.
Old earpods
This time I decided I had to go for branded earpods, cause usually they're the ones the public believe to be better. The most accessible and most popular gadget brand in Nigeria at the moment is Oraimo, so I headed to their website to find an affordable earpod and that's when I came across the freepods lite. It costs 11,700 (at this moment it is around 9.75 dollars. Inflation is crazy). I got mine at a discount, I think it was because it was a holiday or something.
IN THE BOXThere's not anything spectacular about the packaging. When you open the box you'll see the earpods in the case, the charging cable, and two extra sets of ear tips, one bigger and one smaller than the original one on the earpods.
Specs and features.The earpods are plastic and are somewhat transparent as well as the top of the case. It has Ipx4 splash rating so that sweat and splashes won't spoil it, It can last upto 8 hours on its own, and with the charging case can go up to 40 hours, it has a 10 meters connection range, and it's good for calls. It has low latency mode for gaming. It also pairs with the oraimo sound app to help customize and adjust the sound according to how you want it, as well as change the touch controls. It doesn't have Active noise cancellation.
Things I likeAt first I wasn't really a fan of the earpods' look, at least from what I saw online, but I bought it anyway because I preferred performance. Now that I've seen it in person though, it looks a lot better and I've actually fallen in love with the design. Who knew I wanted to be able to see the internal components of my earpods?
The battery life was the first thing that made me leap in its direction. I was already eyeing the oraimo riff 2 which was slightly higher in price, but then when I saw this one had a better battery I had to pick this one. So far it's been very good. I don't use earpods for insanely long periods at a stretch regularly, but I often found my previous earpods stayed for around two hours before alerting me to charge and at times it was annoying. The longest I've used this one at a stretch was 4 hours and when I checked the battery percentage it was still 70%. It is almost a week since I've bought it now and I've only charged the case twice (after unboxing it, and when I noticed the light turned yellow meaning it was around half battery). It also charged really fast.
Sound quality as well is really good. Though I must say that the difference between this and my knock off earpods is not very wide. I only noticed very slight differences in that regard.
The touch inputs are very responsive as well, and the fact you can customize them on the app is nice. Though I must say that the freedom of customization isn't enough in my opinion. You can only choose between different custom inputs already made. If only you could make your own custom input it'd have made it so much cooler.
Then the game mode. I noticed that when I played games and it wasn't on game mode it sounded off, but when it's on game mode it's quite good. I mostly played Call of duty mobile with it and it's nice. Though I'm yet to conclude how good it is. I'll do that once I play dancing line as that game latency shows a lot. I also noticed if I listen to music in game mode it makes weird sounds in intervals.
In terms of ear comfort, they're pretty comfortable, but then not comfortable enough to leave them in your ear when you're not listening to music. The mics are pretty good too, no one has complained of not being able to hear me during calls.
Things I don't likeThere's only a few things I don't like and most of them are just personal preferences.
The first one being the fact that the earpods itself doesn't have any indicator on them. So unless you have it in your ear you can't tell what mode it's on. Also when you put it in the case, it doesn't show any special light that lets you know the earpods are charging. I feel it's not a big deal, but if the earpods were to have a charging issue it won't be noticed immediately.
Then the second one is that it starts to feel like it wants to fall out of my ear after a while and I have to readjust it. I had to switch from the default ear tip to the biggest one and though it reduced significantly it still happens. This one could just be my ear, but it is my observation.
Other than that it's been a good ride so far. I hope to enjoy it for a way longer time than my previous one.

Ever since my pc developed a fault I've had to go back to using my mobile phone for most things again. My phone had issues for quite some time, but I didn't really focus on them thanks to my pc. Now that my pc is temporarily gone, my eyes were opened to the flaws of my phone, and I realized I couldn't cope anymore. Which was why I had to buy a new device.
Long before I was gifted my now previous phone (Huawei y9 2019), I'd been doing my research on redmi phones, and I had my eyes on the redmi note 10 pro. According to some reviews I saw online the note 10 pro is still better than the 11 series, and even competes with some of the latest versions. So I was ready to buy it, but then I couldn't find it anywhere. It was then someone recommended I buy the redmi note 12. I did my research, and I liked what I saw so I set out to get it. Apparently some say it's the budget king (meaning I get more for less)
I got mine for 135,000 naira (approx 180 dollars). It is the 8gb 128gb variant.

In the box
In the box you get a clear phone case, sim ejector tool, the device, and a 33w charger and cable. Not much, but considering how some phones come nowadays (I'm looking at the phones), this is nice.

The specs it has a 5,000mAh battery, 8gb ram, 128gb rom, a 13mp selfie camera, a 50 mp main camera, an 8mp ultra wide camera and a 2mp all set up nicely at the back. It also has a finger print scanner, head phone jack, Ir blaster, loudspeakers. The screen is protected by gorilla glass 3, it has an amoled display which has a max refresh rate of 120Hz, and it has an ip53 dust and splash resistance rating. This is the 4g version. Mine is Onynx gray version (I'd have preferred the ice blue version but I couldn't find it).

What I like about it I have only been using this phone for a week and a day, but I have to say it has grown onto me and I have enjoyed using it so far.
The first thing I noticed when I got the phone was how fast it charges. Obviously I had to charge it before powering it up. When I plugged it in, it was 66 percent, and I timed it. Within 24 minutes it was fully charged. That's insanely fast speeds, and even now it's still that fast. Each time I check plug the phone to go do something, I'm always marvelled at how quickly it charges. And the cool thing is that the battery lasts long. Unless you're literally on a very power intensive game for 24 hours round the clock there is absolutely no reason this shouldn't last you the whole day. The battery is really good. And it's power efficiency is nice. You can also put it in power saving and ultra power saving to go even longer I guarantee it would probably last more than 2 days on ultra power saving mode if you're just using it moderately.
The refresh rate is something that was marketed so much. On all their ads I'm always seeing 120hz refresh rate, amoled display and all that. So I was excited to use it when I first got the phone I didn't notice the difference, so I put it on 60Hz cause it saves more power. But then recently I switched it to 120hz,and oh my God is was something else. Everything felt super smooth like butter. Scrolling felt super satisfying. I had to turn it back down to 60Hz though, I felt I wasn't ready to wield such power, 😂.
The next thing I love about it, is it's responsiveness. I got the 8gb ram version because I wanted the smoothest running I could get and so far I'm not dissapointed. You can extend the ram an extra 5gb using virtual ram from the storage space and I did that so I won't have any issues. So far there's been no lags whatsoever. I'm not afraid of opening any app at all because I know my device can handle it. And it does it so well.
Then we have the camera. The device takes pretty decent pictures and videos especially in sunlight. I wouldn't say it's spectacular, but it's great and you can take a lot of great shots with it. Soon when I get some photography skills I'll probably be using it to take some cover photos for my hive posts (bye bye stock images).

Another thing I love about it is it's customizations and little features that just make things convenient. Like how I put this little slider that opens a to-do list at the side of my phone, or how it makes sure you input your pin or password atleast once every 3 days so you don't forget it after getting used to using finherprint or face ID, or this cool feature that allows you to open apps in small boxes whenever you drag down notifications, just so you can see what's going on without having to stop what you're doing. Pretty great for multitasking if you ask me. And you can do it for multiple apps at once.

Honestly I could go on and on about the things I love about it, but let me stop here. There are still some things I'm yet to try, like the Ir blaster. So can't say for those yet. Also I don't have the mind to test it's water resistance.

Things I don't like Honestly it's really hard picking out things I don't like because I have enjoyed using it so much, but I'll just try and reach deep a little.
Let's start with the camera. The camera is good in well lit conditions, but once there's little light it does poorly. For night photos it's not good enough. Then we have the macro camera. I'm not sure, maybe I'm the one who can't do macro photography, but it doesn't take great macro photos for me. At least not as effortlessly as the main and selfie camera.
The there's this paper at the back of the phone with a bunch of bar codes and ID. It just takes up a lot of space and reduces from the phone beauty (as you can see, I'm reaching a bit to find things I don't like).
I really enjoy using the device and hopefully It serves me well for as long as I have it. Please enjoy my unboxing video.

A couple days ago [Sunday] I was just messing around, and I felt like doing a short vlog as a joke. I didn't do it because I didn't have the energy to focus on holding my phone well in a cruise video. Majority of my videos on hive didn't really need to show my face, the only one that did I had to borrow my cousin's tripod to do it. So in order to not need to borrow anymore I decided I'd get a mini tripod. I hopped on Jumia to see the type I could get. I initially wanted the gorilla pod like that of my cousin, but I saw a couple reviews saying it was easy to break the legs so I decided to go for something else. This was when I came across this mini tripod. It was priced at approximately 4 dollars which is really cheap, so I decided to buy it from here immediately. It came in yesterday (a day ahead of the agreed date) much to my satisfaction. I've done some observations and inspections and I'd like to share my thoughts on the product.
The only things in the box are the tripod stand itself and the phone holder. It didn't come in the company pack, so I'm assuming it was repackaged. In the designs I've seen online it's supposed to come with a bluetooth remote for stopping and starting videos and taking pictures. I suppose this was taken away by the sellers.
Pros The first thing I like about this is its design. I like the design a lot because it looks like a three legged spider of some sort. And when it folds it looks like some kind of futuristic gun.
A three legged spider
When I received the box I was a bit scared that I received the wrong package. Why? Because it was so light. The mini tripod is made of plastic so of course it's light. But I wasn't expecting to be as light as it is. I like the fact it's light though, that way you can hold it for a long time without your hands hurting.
The angle in which the phone is positioned can easily be changed by pushing the button at the side and moving the seat up or down. This way one can get better angles.
It's pretty small and compact, it can't fit in my pocket though.
Cons The major thing I don't like about the product is that it can't change height. It can go left, right, up and down, but there's no way for one to lower the height or increase it just a little bit. This is something that can be done by the gorilla pod by simply bending its legs a bit. I'm not too pissed though because it's at an optimal height for a normal scenario. But once in a while one might want to lower it a bit.
The second thing is its plastic. This is both a pro and a con actually. Being plastic means it is very light, but then again it also means it's liable to break easily. For this reason I'm extra careful with it. It may or may not snap as easily as the gorilla pod, but I'm pretty sure with proper care I should be able to use it for quite some time.
Conclusion Overall, I think this mini tripod is pretty good, and for the price of 4 dollars it's worth every penny. Do watch me unbox it. Thanks for stopping by.

So a few days back @mistural asked me for how to add liquidity to the swap.hive:lvl liquidity pool. I tried my best explaining,but couldn't really break it down well enough in dm, so I decided why not make a post about it explaining everything. So in this post I'll be explaining the concept of liquidity pools, telling you the benefits and risks involved with adding liquidity. The video above shows how to add liquidity to hive-engine tokens using beeswap
What is a liquidity pool? As we all know, when you want to buy or swap a token on a conventional exchange, you enter the amount we want to swap and the price you are willing to pay for it. Then you have to wait until someone else who's trade corresponds with yours arrives before being able to make the trade.
Now in order to reduce that stress of waiting, liquidity pools were created. A liquidity pool is a smart contract that contains equal amounts of two tokens in a 50:50 ratio (it can be more than two, but I don't know much about those). The reason those two tokens are there is so that whenever you want to buy or swap between the two tokens, you don't need to wait for someone else to be available before making those swaps. For each transfer or swap you perform you are charged a small fee, called transaction fees.
Note that since they are in 50:50 ratio, the more you buy one token the more expensive it becomes, and the less expensive the other one becomes,such that the ratio of both tokens in the pool is always 50:50.
Why should I add liquidity? Yes, so for each transfer done on that liquidity pool, a small fee is paid. Now when several people do transactions on that liquidity pool the fees are accumulated and shared among those who added liquidity according to how much they added to the pool. Other than those, some liquidity pools add extra rewards like other tokens that are shared among those who add liquidity. A lot of hive-engine liquidity pools do this.
Risks involved in adding liquidity There are two major risks involved in providing liquidity. The first one is
Impermanent loss: This is when you would have made more profit or less loss if you had just held the tokens rather than providing liquidity. This can occur under different circumstances.
- the price of one token rises and the other dips. (you'll lose a lot of money quickly when this happens)
- the price of one rises and the other remains the same. (you gain profit, but it would have been more if you had just held)
- the price of one dips and the other remains the same. (you would have made a loss if you held, but it wouldn't have been this much)
The greater the deviation from the original price, the greater your impermanent loss will be. If they both rise or drop at the same rate. There'll be no impermanent loss.
Note it's called impermanent loss because it can be corrected if the price goes back to how it was when you bought it. As long as you don't withdraw it's still impermanent, but once you do it becomes permanent.
Rugpulls:This one is quite common nowadays. This is when the owners of the token remove all the liquidity from the pool and flee. All those who hold the token, as well as those who provided liquidity lose everything.
Note that you can always remove liquidity at any time.

Somehow some places still had electricity, but unfortunately for me I wasn't so lucky. For three straight days I had to rely on our generator for electricity, and we only switch it on by 7pm in the evening till 12am or 1am sometimes. My phone kept dying towards the end of the day, because I use it a lot. For this reason I was advised to purchase a power bank. Initially I was advised to purchase a solar power bank, but the majority of the one's I saw did not look trustworthy, so I decided I'd go with something with a reputable brand name. That's when I came across the Oraimo Pilot. For those who don't know, Oraimo is a very popular gadget brand in Nigeria. The usual price is 24 dollars (13,000 naira), but I got it at a discount price of 16.5 dollars (9,100 naira) including delivery fees from oraimo's official page
My order arrived three days ago, I've tested it, and I'd like to share my thoughts with you.
In the box
In the box, you have the 20,000mah power bank, a black micro-usb type B power cord, and a warranty certificate. The manual is written in a compartment of the box.
Specs
The power bank has a 20,000 mAh lithium battery(72wh), it has two inputs,both 5v=2A, one type c and one micro USB, two USB outputs, both 5v=2.1A and an led indicator to tell the battery percentage. It's dimension is 157x78.5x22mm, and it weighs about 0.3kg (a rough guess).
Pros I really like the design very much. The Gray and black design makes it stand out from other power banks.
Another thing I like is the fact that it has two inputs and outputs. With the two inputs I don't have to worry about the type of cord I want to use to charge it, per adventure I misplace the cord or forget it somewhere. Note that you can't charge it with both ports at the same time (I actually thought of this xd). But with the two outputs you can charge more than one device at a time, and it doesn't sacrifice speed.
It also has this cool feature where it decreases the amount of current when you plug a device that doesn't require too much current (e.g Bluetooth earpods). When it does this, the indicator light doesn't show.
And how can I forget the 20,000mAh battery, since It arrived I don't worry about the lack of electricity anymore,because I know it can last me at least 3-4 days. Yesterday night I forgot to charge till the light went out. My phone was 10%, I charged my phone overnight, and this evening, before they finally brought the light, my phone was 15%, I charged it full, I also charged my earpods, and all that only took a bar from it. With this, I doubt I'll be running out of power any time soon.
Cons The first thing I wasn't too satisfied with was the charging speed. It says it's 5v=2.1A which is supposed to be fast, but to me it's pretty average speed. My normal charger which also says the same seems quicker than it when charging my phone. Now in terms of charging the device itself. It's expected to be slower, since the input 5v=2A instead of 5=2.1A, and it has a big battery, but I didn't expect it to be so slow to charge. Its first charge took almost 12 hrs, even though only a bar was down. Now I expected this, but I didn't expect it to still be taking 5 hrs to fill a bar after that.
Another thing I'm not too satisfied with is the fact that it doesn't have a digital led indicator. Now since it's just bars, I can never be completely sure what percent it is. Maybe I'm just overreacting listing this as a con, but I feel it would have been so much better if they'd made the indicator digital
Conclusion So far, I'd say the Oraimo Pilot Powerbank is a good buy, all things considered. It has good battery life, reasonable charging speed, a nice design, and it's pretty affordable.

En la caja, tienes el power bank de 20.000mah, un cable de alimentación micro-usb tipo B negro y un certificado de garantía. El manual está escrito en un compartimento de la caja.
Especificaciones
El power bank tiene una batería de litio de 20.000 mAh(72wh), tiene dos entradas, ambas de 5v=2A, una tipo c y otra micro USB, dos salidas USB, ambas de 5v=2.1A y un indicador led para saber el porcentaje de batería. Sus dimensiones son 157x78.5x22mm, y pesa unos 0.3kg (una estimación aproximada).
Pros. Me gusta mucho el diseño. El diseño gris y negro hace que se destaque de otros bancos de energía.
Otra cosa que me gusta es el hecho de que tiene dos entradas y salidas. Con las dos entradas no tengo que preocuparme por el tipo de cable que quiero usar para cargarlo, por aventura pierdo el cable o lo olvido en algún lugar. Hay que tener en cuenta que no se puede cargar con los dos puertos a la vez (de hecho se me ocurrió esto xd). Pero con las dos salidas puedes cargar más de un dispositivo a la vez, y no sacrifica la velocidad.
Además, tiene una función muy chula en la que disminuye la cantidad de corriente cuando conectas un dispositivo que no requiere demasiada corriente (por ejemplo, unos auriculares Bluetooth). Cuando lo hace, el indicador luminoso no se enciende.
Y cómo olvidar la batería de 20.000mAh, desde que llegó ya no me preocupa la falta de electricidad, porque sé que me puede durar al menos 3-4 días. Ayer por la noche me olvidé de cargar hasta que se fue la luz. Mi teléfono estaba al 10%, cargué el teléfono durante la noche, y esta tarde, antes de que por fin trajeran la luz, mi teléfono estaba al 15%, lo cargué a tope, también cargué mis auriculares, y todo eso sólo le quitó una barra. Con esto, dudo que me quede sin energía pronto.
Cons Lo primero que no me satisfizo demasiado fue la velocidad de carga. Dice que es de 5v=2.1A que se supone que es rápida, pero para mí es una velocidad bastante media. Mi cargador normal, que también dice lo mismo, parece más rápido que éste al cargar mi teléfono. Ahora en cuanto a la carga del dispositivo en sí. Es de esperar que sea más lento, ya que la entrada 5v=2A en vez de 5=2.1A, y tiene una batería grande, pero no esperaba que fuera tan lento en cargar. La primera carga tardó casi 12 horas, a pesar de que sólo había bajado una barra. Ahora me lo esperaba, pero no esperaba que después de eso siguiera tardando 5 hrs en llenar una barra.
Otra cosa con la que no estoy muy satisfecho es el hecho de que no tenga un indicador led digital. Ahora bien, como sólo son barras, nunca puedo estar completamente seguro de qué porcentaje es. Tal vez estoy exagerando al enumerar esto como una estafa, pero siento que habría sido mucho mejor si hubieran hecho el indicador digital
Conclusión Hasta ahora, yo diría que el Oraimo Pilot Powerbank es una buena compra, en general.Tiene una buena duración de la batería, una velocidad de carga razonable, un bonito diseño y es bastante asequible.

All those vloggers who make quality videos on a consistent basis I've got to say kudos to you. Creating videos is no mean feat. This video has been a long time coming but Its finally here.
Almost two weeks ago I was able to create a pair of square toed Oxfords. And in this this video I'll be showing you every single step I took. I'd have loved to record as I made it, but sadly I don't have a personal workspace, so a Slideshow with narration is the next best thing.
The cost of the materials was approximately 10 dollars. If i were to sell it, It would probably go for like 15 to 20 dollars. But the first they say is special so I'm keeping this one. It took about 2 days for me to finish (I'm working on getting faster). Enjoy the video and tell me what you think.
