Instead of doing a review, I’m going to randomly talk about something an Author said that bothered me.
This week is a review of “Frost Mate” by Elle Beaumont and Candace Robinson. It is a twist on the tale of Krampus and for those who always had a thing for the “Beast” from Beauty and the Beast.
Now, like most of the isekai, this is one where the main character, Arcus Raytheft, reawakens memories of a past life in a dreamlike way. This time, because of the way Arcus remembers, the memories stay just memories and Arcus stays in charge as the host and views these in a detached way. So, what triggered the memories? Let's get started...
Slow-Burn, Slice-of-life, Boy-Gets-Close-to-Girl-Unromantically kind of tale. There is a lot here to work with, but it’s all cute in the end. “The Angel Spoils Me Rotten” by Saekisan. Published by Yen Press.
Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox by Forthright I might enjoy reading light and graphic novels, but that doesn’t mean I have forgotten all about regular novels too. (As a Warning: I apologize for any names I end up mispronouncing.)
It’s that time again, the time to speak about my second most loved genre to read, Fairytales.
I read another fairytale and isekai mix. A villainess retelling of Snow White, entitled, “I’m Only a Stepmother, but My Daughter is Just So Cute!” volume one by Yir. What happens when the Evil Queen gets a personality make-over because she isn’t even the same person? Let me tell you.
