Devi Chapagain grew up in a family of six siblings and entered an arranged marriage at just 17. During her pregnancy, she suffered severe health complications, and her family feared she might not survive. Her struggles continued after the birth of her daughter.
When her daughter turned four, Devi moved to Dubai to join her husband and build a better future. However, she faced numerous challenges involving employment, visas, fraud and false promises. Hoping to surprise her husband with a good earning opportunity, she kept one offer secret from him—without knowing the troubling reality behind it.
