Lizzette Arias is a passionate advocate who has spent her career advocating for immigrant rights and equity. She helped establish the Dream Project, a nonprofit that provides scholarships and mentoring to undocumented students pursuing higher education, and served as its first full-time Executive Director. Earlier in her journey, she led Dreamers of Virginia, a youth-led movement that successfully advocated for in-state tuition and immigrant rights in Virginia.

Her work examines Black narratives and Black audiences across the diaspora. Prof Banjo is a widely prolific scholar, having curated and edited 5 book projects, and authored/co-authored over two dozen articles and book chapters. Her 2021 book entitled Dreams for Our Children: Immigrant Letters to Future Generations is an anthology presenting diverse perspectives of immigrants expressing hopes for their future. Her current documentary follows similar immigrant stories. Dr. Banjo is a Fulbright award winner and engaged scholar, having presented her work to policymakers and tech experts.

Bio of guest**Tom Peine is an accomplished Public Information Officer with a diverse public affairs and communications background.

Tom Peine was born and raised in Germany. He has a German education in banking business and initially worked in the finance industry. In 1997, he met his second wife, a natural-born American citizen. Following a switch to the software industry, he took on the roles of sales manager and global account manager. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 36.

Eventually, Peine naturalized, became a U.S. citizen and chose to join the ranks of law enforcement. Just shy of his 41st birthday, he started attending a law enforcement academy and became Deputy Sheriff in Pima County, AZ. After almost ten years serving his community, he and his wife moved to Oregon and later temporarily returned to Germany, where he worked as a strategic outreach specialist for the U.S. Army’s 7thArmy Training Command. They returned home to the United States in 2020."

Oksana Kukurudza is a Ukrainian American author, speaker, and management
consultant born in Rochester, NY and currently living in New York City. She is a first-generation American, born to Ukrainian immigrant parents and is the youngest of twelve siblings. Oksana attended Boston University and Emory’s Gozuieta Business School, earning both a Bachelor's and Master’s of Business Administration (MBA). Her specialty areas of both expertise and experience are in public accounting and management consulting.

Through her work, Oksana spent eighteen months in Ukraine and six months in
Italy in the 1990s. During her time in Ukraine, she lived and worked in Kyiv but also
worked in other cities across Ukraine such as L’viv, Kryvyi Rih, and Dnipro
(Dnipropetrovsk at the time) witnessing first-hand Ukraine’s difficult transition from
the communist Soviet Union to a fledgling capitalist democracy. Through her work and leisure,
she has traveled to over eighty countries, writing travel journals for her own personal
consumption, and collecting dear friends as well as words.

'Choose whatever you want and make it happen"- Melina Fuenmayor - 'Bio of Guest**Melina Fuenmayor is a Venezuelan Immigrant and a successful businesswoman. She is
inspiring Latina entrepreneurs across the US with her incredible story of struggle and triumph. Taking charge of the life she wanted to achieve, she is now living the American Dream. She came to the US by the end of 2017 armed with nothing but the desire to build a good life for her family. As a woman immigrant, things haven’t been easy. She had to work four jobs just to make ends meet and provide for her family. She started working as an Administrative Assistant and then a Paralegal at a law firm. At one point, she also had to work as a babysitter.
Despite the language barrier and the challenges she faced, she is fueled with determination. While working at the law firm, she pursued studies in Notary Public and became a Certified Notary Signing Agent. While it started as a side-hustle, she soon found herself quitting her jobs one by one.
Four months later, she took a leap of faith and quit her last job to dedicate her focus to running the business full-time. Her gamble paid off, and in just three months she was doing hundreds of closings each month. She established herself as a leader in her field and became widely recognized as a referent. In August 2020, during the pandemic, she launched The Closing Signing Service to meet the rapidly growing demands for her expertise. Title Companies, Real Estate Attorneys, and other Mortgages Professionals rely on her and her team to find and hire mobile notaries to close real estate transactions anywhere in the U.S. Melina has personally executed nearly 3,000 closings and she and her team have been able to schedule over 16,000 transactions for over 700 clients across the country, becoming one of the most successful and profitable signing service companies in the sunshine state.

In her role, Djenita helps her clients with negotiating commercial contracts, external general counsel matters, and pre-litigation dispute resolution. Prior to her time at BBG, she was Corporate Counsel for a multibillion-dollar general contractor in Colorado, and In-House Counsel and Assistant Vice President for one of the nation's leading title insurance companies. Djenita is heavily invested in the community and sits on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Weld County, the National Association of Women in Construction's Denver chapter, the Law Committee for the Board of Law Examiners for the State of Colorado and she is also a member of the Future Leaders Forum for the Associated General Contractors of Colorado.
