Own Your Gifts is a show co-created by Danny Shannon & Joseph Pollaro aimed at making a difference in the world.
Did you know that around 80% of our thoughts are negative 90% are repetitive? Your mental process can be harvesting disease. But instead of thinking of your shortcomings, the mind can be trained to focus on how we can imporve to become and live better. This episode is all about turning your pain and suffering into opportunity.
Show Notes:
What happens when you plug into negativity? Well for starters, to get attached to negativity can only take you down from where you’re currently at. Negative emotions can stop us from behaving rationally and look at things with the right perspective.
Negative energy often makes us feel powerless as we look at everything with defeat. Your carrer, relationsips, the future. It makes you feel you're useless.
With all that is going around the world right now we could all use some positive energy. So when we talk about unpluging it means that we have the opporunirty to connect to something else, isn’t it?
Does this mean we have to enjoy the pain? Not necesarily, rather we want you to change your relatioship by adversity. On this episode we will disucss how sometimes our biggest falls can help us bounce back up higher than we could ever imagined.

The truth is: You can heal yourself.
You don’t need surgery, and you don’t need a pill. What you do need is the right information about how your body works and what it takes to make positive changes. That’s what we are going to give you in this episode.
Show Notes:
Healing yourself might sound too good to be true, but the fact of the matter is that your body is designed for self-healing. The pain you feel on a daily basis is sub-par functioning of your nervous system, which inhibits it from doing what it was naturally meant to do - fixing itself.
Our host today will speak with us on how to speed up the self-healing process so that you start getting better sooner.
Jen Russman is the president of MindSetters/Power to Heal, a self-healing solution for patients suffering from chronic illness. Her story is one of hard work and triumph as she healed herself from childhood trauma and addiction after being bedridden for over seven years.
Jen’s work focuses on the principles of self-healing, as well as the link between the body, trauma and chronic illness. She also hosts her own online TV show, Jenergy Vibes, a weekly live session dedicated to helping others live better lives.
Tune in today to awaken the regenerative power of our brains and therefore heal us from inside out.

By being of service to others throughout any difficulty, you not only help them get better but improve your own recovery process and wellbeing.
Show Notes:
The first step towards recovery is to admit you are struggling. Next, you have to realise that you can't fix it all on your own. You will need help and support from others, and the best way to get this is by helping others in their journey of recovery. Everyone can benefit from giving back, whether they are still in the process of getting sober or if they are already years into their sobriety.
It can be challenging for addicts to serve others when they are still struggling with their own addiction issues, but it’s important that they do so nevertheless.
Giving back can look like sharing, spending time, listening, basically connecting with others. Believe it or not, this will increase your levels of happiness on a daily basis.
Being helpful makes us happier people and leads us down a path where we can give back even more of ourselves. Investing in others means that they will invest in us as well – which creates an effect of making us feel useful and needed.

Yes, your addiction can be a blessing in disguise.
It could perhaps be the chance to change for good or even that wake up call you desperately need.
We know it’s easy to get discouraged in the process of recovery. But even in our darkest hours, it is possible to find beauty in the world around us.
Yes, part of recovery is to be able to recognise what is wrong with you and be able to accept that you have a problem.
But you should be able to see the good in you as well. And that’s what we want to help you see today.
This episode is all about recognising your shortcomings but becoming aware of your gifts as well.
Share with us what are 3 things you are grateful for in this journey?

In order to see light, it needs to be brought into the dark.
The death-rebirth pattern is obvious in everything within the universe, nature, religion, science & mythology. You have to go down to go up higher. Our journeys through decades of active addiction mirror this universal law.
