HEYYYY everyone. We have missed you guys during the “Summer Break.” Today’s episode we are just chatting about life and what has been going on for both of us. We both had some things going on that unfortunately took priority over us being able to record weekly. We are hopeful to continue these weekly recordings now that we are determined to make the time again. Leslie chatted a little about her foster daughter and what they have been trying to work through over the summer. Stephanie talked about her life all summer long and the events that took place to through their lives into full on BUSY mode. We both are really excited to take some time and chat about life. We love being real with you, as we talk about marriage, life, being a mom. Like we normally do. Today was just different because it has been TWO months since we recorded.

We hope you enjoy our chat today.

Thank you for listening to another episode! Today we are talking about the j pittance of self care. How the stress’s of life depend on you taking of YOU first. We talk a little bit our favorite forms of self care. We both enjoy a good sweat sesh in a good workout and taking care of our bodies. Getting outside and just taking a walk enjoying the sunshine. Leslie talked about being at her family cabin on the lake. Stephanie brought up the fact that it actually boosts your mood if you are anywhere beside water for at least 15 minutes. Stephanie talked and has in the past about grounding, it’s basically just being outside barefoot on the grass and letting the Earth just take what it needs to from you (all the bad) and refill you with all the good for your body. It’s crazy how God created your body that way and how we are intended to do those things to live a healthier life. We both just want to remind you that it’s not selfish to take care of yourself first. As moms we usually feel guilty if we get to do something for ourselves, thank you society for telling us that. But that’s WRONG! You can’t pour from an empty cup. You must take care of you guest before you can take care of your littles or anyone around you. We’d love to hear from you. What’s your favorite form of self care? What’s something you do everyday that brings you so much joy, you just have to have it?

Today we thought we’d celebrate for a minute and give you guys (that don’t know it) the backstory of how we met. How the podcast started with just Leslie them Stephanie joining in May of 22. Leslie talks about how she always wanted to start a podcast just to encourage women of all walks of life. Encourage them to do the workout, go after your dream, and find what works for you. She made that dream come true for her in 2021 when she started Hero starts with Her. Leslie is a working mom of four, two in high school and another still in elementary which she homeschools. She also has a foster daughter right now, which is her line of work.

Stephanie is also a working mom of three, one high schooler, a elementary and toddler whom she homeschools. Her oldest is going to be a junior this year and attends public school. We met through FB, formed a friendship through our love for health and fitness. And that blossomed into a co-host opportunity. Stephanie would join Leslie a few times on episodes before she decided to join her for good in May of 22. So we’re celebrating that one year anniversary this month.

We both shared our passions with you guys again today and we hope that our episodes just continue to encourage you. Our Facebook community we share into. Join us: https://www.facebook.com/groups/107794994826764/

Thank you for joining us for another episode! Today is just a life chat episode. We had an episode for ya’ll but our recording website is being a difficult toddler and not allowing us to edit and air it. We’re working through some life series we’d like to bring you. But that’s still in the planning stages. So hang tight with us working mommas as we figure it all out. Today we’re being honest and real (cause that’s who we are) about life as a wife, mom who work full time and try to be the best we can be. We hope you continue to enjoy our talks about life, love, faith, and marriage. Thank you for listening. Until next time guys.

This one is ON FIRE about stuff that is like, taboo! it’s intimacy in our marriages! We’ve chatted about this before on the podcast. But the chat came up again today as we were chatting about Ephesians 5:22 being submissive as a wife per God’s word. The verse mentions wives submitting to their husband and it’s not what society really makes it out to be. It doesn’t mean that you’re weak. You can be a strong willed, loving, God fearing woman and mother and still be submissive in your marriage. Which is what God calls us to do. However~ we both talk about how this is a struggle for us. For us it’s a mental thing, but we feel like it’s not for men. Stephanie talks about how she feels it’s a physical thing for men but not as much for women (at least not me) and Leslie talks about how she’s had some hard conversations in their marriage about sex and intimacy. Don’t worry guys! We still have fun with the episode and throw in our corks and laughs into the mix while we chat today. We hope you continue to enjoy our talks about life, love, faith, and marriage. Thank you for listening.

Hey guys!! Thank you for joining us for another episode where we’re just chatting about life as a homeschool mom. We both homeschool at least one of our kiddos. Leslie homeschools Knox, who is 10. And Stephanie homeschools Laina, who is 8 and Olivia whose 3. Our oldest arent homeschool so we get to enjoy the best of both worlds, kinda. We share tips and tricks about how we get through the days and weeks. The books and supplies we use as curriculum. Stephanie talks about how she uses a lot of sheets that are printed off, until recently she purchased a specific book for Math and Language Arts. Leslie shares about her and Knox do projects and how she has him write his spelling words a few times throughout the week. And the cool thing she purchased to help him with cursive. We both talk about how freeing and how flexible it is. The links we chatted about are listed below. We hope you enjoy our talks about life as we continue to dive in and share more of our lives with you guys. Links from the show:

Hey Hey!! We’re excited to chat with you guys today. Some updates about life, but mostly about the “Mom Types” see the post below from our blog pages. We both agreed we’re like a mix of all mom types. We talked about how we think it’s important to have other mom types in our lives too. It really is. We all need the diversity of friends, but also the diversity of mom friends to help us through different phases in our life. Leslie talks about a mom friend that she has that had older kids and has helped her look at life different as the years pass by. Because MAN, they do go fast. Like Leslie said the days are LONG, but the years are short and fly by. Stephanie mentions a couple different mom type friends she has and says everyone needs a friend that can drop it all (maybe not a mom with young kids) to meet for lunch or dinner and just chat. We all need those days from time to time. It’s soooo important. Being a mom is the HARDEST job that you’re given on this earth. Don’t do it by yourself. Reach out to someone if you need help. Reach out if you need to talk or vent. Reach out if you need to just meet for drinks. Find your mom friends. Don’t be scared to step out there and meet a new “mom type”. We’d love to know.. What “Mom Type” are you? We’re back bitches! We took some very much needed time away from recording. We’re back today to have a quick chat about the Love languages. Leslie took her test on the podcast last year sometime. So this time Stephanie is taking it. Turns out she’s 30% Words of Affirmation. While taking the test they chatted a bit. And we don’t know about you guys, but we feel like we could answer the questions different depending on the day. Have you taken it? If so, do you feel like it’s accurate for you? We’d love to hear from you. If you’d like to take the quiz, you can find it linked here: Our hope is to bring you guys some short and sweet episodes this month if there’s something you’d like to hear us talk about, please email us. We are LIVE on facebook! Leslie is back with Knox for a solo episode! It has been a hot minute since we have done "10 seconds with Knox". Join them while Knox shares what he is excited about in a couple weeks! Leslie shares the importance of getting in personal time for yourself. It’s balancing everyone’s emotions in the midst of your own. It’s the constant pop-up message reminding you that your disk space is running low—and the constant force to close a tab or two. …It’s the over-engaged senses from all the simultaneous noise (internal and external) that never seem to cease—the constant sound of the washer and dryer starting at 4:30 am, kids playing on Fortnite, your phone going off with more emails, the dogs barking at the neighborhood outside, the baby crying, the endless reading in the evening, spelling words, the running through the house, the hoverboard, the falling, the constant “mommy mommy mommy. Getting time in for yourself is SOOOO important. We are surviving on 1% and that is NOT OK!!! We need to stop not taking care of ourselves and giving our families what is left of us at the end of the day.

Hey guys, Happy Tuesday and thank you for listening to another episode of Hero starts with HER. Today we are just chatting about life again. We started talking about the husbands and how we just view sex and intimacy different in marriage. Can we just discuss how this is NORMAL? Leslie mentioned how when she started digging into herself with personal development things started to get “easier” and better in that aspect. Stephanie talked about something similar, but more so of how she just dug into the Bible and sought out verses and other Christian women to help her find the joy in intimacy and to not look at it as a duty. Over the past year and half that has gotten better also.

Stephanie made a post into the FB community the Real Highlight about a menstrual cup. Leslie had LOTS of questions about it. The pros and cons, etc. We chatted about that for a few. Then we decided to cut it short and take a nap. Because well.. that’s just life guys. Sometimes you just need a nap!

We hope you enjoy our chats about.. just being human.

Hey guys, we are here to just chat about life with you guys. We chat for a minute about just trying to get through the weeks. We both feel when we make it to Friday, it’s a great week. We all are doing what we can to survive motherhood, who isn’t? We gave a shout out to java_jive84 who left us a review in October. Thank YOU so much for your review. We hope that what we chat about speaks to your heart, always.

We think this episode will touch with every Mom out there. We touch on PPD and how normal it is to feel those things, whatever they are. Some of us still don’t know. We talk about mental health for a minute and how important it is to know how special you are regardless of what you read on social media. Social media is NOT the place to find that real comfort you are looking for if you are struggling. Its sad that in this society that’s where we go and that’s normal. Let’s normalize talking about when we are NOT okay. We hope that you enjoy our talks about life, our REAL lives today.

Hey guys, we are excited to bring you a part 2 of the label reading episode. There is SO much to learn and look for. First off, don’t get overwhelmed. Today we chat a little bit about breads, flours, gluten free, and Keto etc. Stephanie stresses that the front of the label could be fooling you. If you turn over the label and read the ingredients you aren’t getting exactly what they say on the front. Leslie sent over a few images of different breads; the two “keto” and “glutren free” breads the first ingredient is WATER. That means that’s basically what you are paying for. Label tip: the first ingredient listed is what the product is MOST filled with. Leslie struggles with gluten sensitivity so I recommended she try flourless bread that I have used before and even my son likes it. Its Ezekiel 4:9, it is sprouted grain bread. Now its not your common white bread that’s soft. But its flourless, made with organic grains and low glycemic and its pretty darn good as toast. We love that it’s biblical too. Any company that is willing to take a chance with their faith has our business for sure. We also talked about Red Dye, I am telling you right now. If you REMOVE this from your diet and your kids’ diet you will see a world of difference in their behavior. It’s been linked to ADHD tendencies and behavior issues, outbursts, tantrums, you name it; anything that makes your sweet little innocent kid MEAN and RAGEFUL. It’s the dye! Look at what they are eating and change it. You will notice a change almost immediately. We hope this is helpful and PLEASE don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We are here to help with a lifestyle change that could help everyone in your house.

Happy New Year guys!! We hope you guys are having a great start to 2023. We are dropping a new series today that touches on the topic that Stephanie has been researching for a few years. Reading ingredient labels. What to stay away from, what to look for, how to know what is good for you, etc. It’s overwhelming to say the least. We hope this episode helps. Stephanie shares some tips and tricks she has learned in the last couple years. We have linked a list of unacceptable ingredients for foods that was created back in 2019. It is a great starter when looking at what to STAY away from.

Leslie talks about how when they have made the changed what they use when cooking it always tastes WAY better. She has been digging into the labels lately also and making little changes. Making those little changes definitely helps in BIG ways. We hope to do another episode similar to this one to share more tips and maybe include a bit of a buy this not that.

Reading food and ingredient labels is HARD work, but we promise it’s SO worth it. When you know what you are putting in your body you feel better about it all around. We touched on how it even improves our moods. We hope this is helpful.

Hey guys. We are so happy to be here as we wrap up 2022. We weren’t really sure what to discuss on this episode, but we kicked it off with trying to focus on the good things. We chatted a bit about complaining and gratitude. Stephanie dove into a devotional last week after her husband told her she was doing a lot of complaining. That’s what I do, when I am struggling with something, I dive straight into the Bible App. and I find a devotional about whatever it is I am struggling with. She shared some great info about complaining and how we are Bubble Busters, we are tearing down God’s Kingdom. So... let’s NOT do that today or this year. 😉

Leslie talked about her two things that were pivotable for her this year. We both agreed me coming on the podcast was one of them and her other one was learning how to say no. She says saying NO, just means you are saying YES to yourself. YES to your family, your peace and your boundaries. And we just want you guys to know. That IS OKAY! Its funny how the older we get, the less we care. We don’t care what the other people might think of us saying no. We just know that it gives us peace!! How do you guys feel about that?

What would it take for YOU to have YOUR YEAR? Leslie shared a TikTok with Stephanie earlier this week about how we just need 2023 to come in, sit down and shut up. We both could totally relate to that, But then Stephanie asks that question. What would it need for you to have YOUR YEAR? What does that even mean for you anymore? 10-15 years ago, it would have been a job promotion, or a new house. But now, we have all those things, we both kind of agreed. What more could we want? We would love to hear from you guys. What would make YOUR YEAR! What would it take?

Hey guys, Thanks for joining us as we just continue to chat about Christmas and the things we enjoy about the season. We talked about the second week of Advent a little bit, but we covered most of that on last weeks episode. Make sure you check that out. 😉

Today we are here to continue the Christmas Chats. Leslie talks about her oldest birthday being today (when we recoded) and how things are changing as Ry is getting older. Stephanie shares a bit about how there are always going to be old and new firsts. Good things have to come to an end for better things to happen. That’s a great mindset to have as our kids grow older right before our eyes.

We hope you enjoy our chats about life. Sometimes we stay the course, other times we don’t. That’s what we love about our chats. Its easy to just sit down and talk to each other and share with you guys what we have going on.

Today we are starting a new series we plan to continue through December. We are going to chat about Advent. You know we are both passionate about our Faith and what Christmas really means to us and our families. Leslie did some research on what each week means. Advent in Latin means “Coming”, and it is the period of that leads up to Christmas, it starts the Sunday after Thanksgiving usually. Each week you focus on what that week leads up to. Most churches and families light a candle each week that symbolize preparing and remembering the real meaning of Christmas. Week 1 is Hope, Week 2 is Love, Week 3 is Joy and Week 4 is Peace. Some have a fifth candle that is white, it represents the purity of Christ.

Join us today and the coming weeks as we prepare our hearts and chat about Christmas. Things we do in our home, traditions (funny and serious.)

Today we’re chatting about one big part of being a parent— kids and school. Leslie brought up the behavior chart used in schools and how it can have a negative impact on kids and how they learn or perform in the classroom. Stephanie talks about the struggles with the school system and how there is no individual learning plan, there is no one size fits all and all kids are held to the same standard or test score. It’s sad, frustrating and almost impossible to stop. We both homeschool our youngest, but have high schoolers in the public schools. We see both sides, we’d love to hear from you on how you feel about these topics. We both agree as we think most parents do, there should be more accountability to the next generation coming up to be in this world. We are wrapping up our series of ‘To the Woman” …. Today we are talking to the mom, wife, woman who might be struggling with that ungratefulness feeling. it can hit us more often than we would like to admit and can be even worse during this Thanksgiving and Christmas season. But today, we talk a little bit about flipping the script. And trying really hard to use the words “I GET TO” instead of “I HAVE TO”

Leslie talks about how its so easy to go into someone’s home during the holidays, look around and wish you had what they had. She talks about the most recent struggles of taking in two foster girls into their home, what they have had to really focus on, and what to be grateful for. We both agree, the things you take for granted, someone else is praying for. Remember that when that feeling hits your heart. Stephanie mentions how she tries to remember even in everyday life to look at our daily chores as a GET TO, we have clothes to wear, we GET TO wash them. We have food in the fridge, we GET TO clean the dishes they are prepared on. This week with Thanksgiving coming up, we hope that you are encouraged to flip the script and use those words towards any task, feeling or situation instead of letting the feeling of ungratefulness that might try to sneak in to your hearts.

We are continuing our series of ‘To the Woman” …. Today we are talking to the mom, wife, woman who is feeling lonely. How is it that we can feel lonely with all the connections we have at our fingertips? Its very pertinent that God created us FOR community. He created us to do life with other people. Other people we can depend on and know we can trust. Leslie talks about who she feels like a burden when she asks for help, and with her household changing lately, she has needed to reach out and ask for help more. Stephanie talks about how after being sick last week she realized she does have people she can call if she needs help with life. The village we all speak of—is a necessity, especially in today’s world. The world we live in together where we have all the technology we could ask for, to helps us live our lives alone, in our home with our doors shut. That is NOT the community that God created us to live in.

His word starts off in Genesis 2 where he creates a helper for man. This continues throughout scripture as its talked about two being better than one. He continues to tell us; I will not forsake you. I will not leave you. When we feel alone let us lean into those verses that are right at our fingertips, instead of the loneliness that social media creates, the feeling left out those pictures you see create, the feeling of “not having it all together” while your friend shares her PERFECT Christmas decorations. Reach for Jesus, Reach for God and His word, Reach for a good book. Reach for a text message to a friend who you haven’t heard from in a while. Reach for those things instead of the fake social media apps. We encourage you to do that next time you feel alone and lonely. ♥

We are continuing our series of ‘To the Woman” …. Today we are talking to the mom, wife, woman who is feeling overwhelmed. Is that you? Maybe not today, but its you at some point? We can all agree that in today’s crazy fast paced world, its easy to get the feeling of overwhelmed daily. Especially as a mom, Stephanie talks about how she just looks around the house and those feelings sneak in. Leslie shares how she overcomes those feelings as a busy working mom and how she tries to take a step back and evaluate what is on her plate and what can wait. Being a “Yes Girl” some days her plate is pretty full.

We shared a couple of encouraging verses today about feeling overwhelmed no matter what phase you are in. Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. The ever-famous Psalm 46:10, Be still and know. ♥

Let Jesus be the slow to your fast world. Let him be the calm to your chaos, and the understanding to your crazy that you might be surrounded by. Lean in today and just Pray to him about what you have to get done. Let him in early in your day so you can set yourself up for success with His promises.

Have you ever been “in the waiting” it sucks, right? Its hard to stay positive and to understand WHY we are there. Stephanie shares her waiting period this summer that she feels like she is still in, waiting for the next step in her life. Right now, she is focusing on her family and their farm.

Hey Guys!!!! We are bringing you Part 2, of our two-part series about this upcoming Halloween Season. Full Disclosure from both of us; we don’t in ANY way look down on those who are celebrating Halloween or watching the Hocus Pocus movie. By all means, please you do you! ♥ We are just here to spread the awareness and knowledge about these things. Dive in with us today as we wrap up this series. Today we talk about the History of Halloween. Stephanie stumbled across this video made by a YouTuber that has a page called TruthUnedited. We have linked the video below.

We both just chat about how the video was mind blowing with some facts about where and who Halloween started. Its crazy to think that Christians, Jesus Following, God Fearing CHRISTIAN’S and Church, Ohhh the Churches that are being fooled by the Pagan and Occult practices that we just think are harmless, innocent, fun. But we have to stop and ask ourselves, IS IT? After watching this video, we both agree its not just innocent fun. We have vowed to try our very best not to partake in very many, if any at all events that celebrate the Day of the Dead. Why would we as Christians, be involved and decorate for the Halloween events that started as spirits roaming the earth to take lost souls to hell?

We hope that this chat with us leaves you feeling discerned about the upcoming holiday. And just hope that it reminds you NOT to be of this world. We are reminded of that SO much throughout scripture. Let us practice that a little more in the next few weeks.

Hey Guys!!!! We are bringing you today a Part 1, to probably a two-part series of things we both have been wanting to talk about. Today we are talking about the “Spooky Season” and what we do in our home as we are Christians living in the world today, which means living and researching what Halloween is all about. Stephanie says, We are calling it Harvest Season, not Halloween anymore. Leslie talks a little bit about her kids asking her certain questions. Neither of us are EVER saying you CAN’T do this as a Christian, We are just here to bring light to His Word and awareness to the evil things that are all around us.

We hope you enjoy our talks about Harvest Season and we hope you will tune in next week as we dig into the Trick or Treat topics we have been wanting to discuss.

Quote from today’s episode. The pumpkin analogy:

A 10-year-old girl was asked by another classmate, “what is it like to be a Christian?” The girl replied, “its like being a pumpkin, God picks you from the patch, brings you in, washes all the first away. Then he cuts open the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for ALL the world to see”

We loved this and wanted to share it with you.

We hope you are sitting down to chat with us today. Today we just sit back and talk about life. Like we usually do. Today after a small pause in the podcast, we are BACK and chatting about what Leslie posted in our Real Highlight Group on FB. (link here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/107794994826764/) The post talked about how we spend our time, and how we compare our own lives with what Karen down the street is doing as a wife and mom. Please join us as we both take time to consider the two things, we are choosing to focus our time on. The quote that Leslie posted was “Spend 80% of your time doing the two things you enjoy the most.” What are your two things?

Our two things are Leslie: getting her home ready for the fostering and tackling the first year of homeschooling her youngest and this Podcast. Stephanie: Her family and farm, along with linking arms with Leslie on this Podcast. That means we CHOSE you guys as one of our focus’.

Our main goal for this podcast is that we encourage you and help you remember as you listen that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! And that when you have a bad day, you know you are NOT the only mom who has curled up in that fetal position and cried, Why? No one knows, heck we don’t even know half the time. But we do it anyway because it helps us feel better. Just know, Leslie and I have been there, and we are happy to share our lives with you. The fun, the chaos, the cries, the laughs and the prayers. We can’t wait to see what this podcast holds for us and can do for you.

We encourage you today, what are your TWO things you are choosing to spend 80% of your time on today, tomorrow, the rest of the year? Let us know by tagging us on social media, messaging us or emailing us. We would LOVE to interact with you and hear from you.

Today we are chatting about the trend that’s taking over TikTok and IG. The trends and things we shouldn’t practice as Christian’s. The list starts with six things as a Christian, I will not do; Watch horror movies, that includes true crime/murder mysteries. Talk about the nightmares because we are opening up those doors. New Age Spirituality things; horoscopes, tarot cards, physics, enneagrams, etc. Practicing Yoga, this is rooted in Hinduism, practicing anther religion. These are tough to discuss, and we both feel like they are opinions. But as Christians, we really do need to think about our actions. Join us today as we take time to express how we feel about this list and the things that touch our lives.

We intend to have a part 2 to this series to chat about a couple other topics that tie into this. We hope you will join us in these conversations.

Stephanie met her hubby, Jeremy a little later in life, she was 22 and he was 30. Stephanie breaks down how its really hard for her to put him before their kids (which we both agree that a lot of Mom’s might feel that way.) We just chat today about being married, how its awesome and hard at the same time, the struggles we’ve been through and the struggles we face every day, every week and every month.

Today we kickoff our series we decided to do this month and into August. We are following the social media trend, How it started vs. How its going. We will pick a few different topics to talk about in the coming weeks. Today we chose the first thing that we really ever talk about on this podcast and that’s being a mom. Today we share HOW we first became a mom. We dig in deeper to a bit of our stories and how it all started vs how its going today. Leslie talks about how ALL she ever wanted was to be a mom. When her oldest was about 2 weeks old her aunt asked her, is it everything you ever dreamed it would be? Leslie said, NO it sucks. LOL But we also get to talk about how lucky she is with her three beautiful children that her and Brandon raise together in this crazy world. Stephanie opens up and talks about how honestly, she never really wanted to be a Mom, never thought she could have kids, well God had a bigger plan for her. She talks about her three awesome kids with her husband, Jeremy and also how she focuses on Homemaking and making their home a safe, clean place for everyone. Join us today as we dive into this series and learn more about us.

Hey Friends. Today we just sit down and chat for a bit. We just want to take a breather and talk about life with you all. We both realize how easy it is to just get wrapped up in the chaos of life and not do things that bring your joy, or happiness. Like what happened to family reunions and Sunday night dinners? Nobody does those things anymore to just BE with family. We reminisce about the good ‘ol days with Leslie used to spend a WHOLE week at grandma and grandpas house in Colorado, and how every Sunday Stephanie would go to her grandparents house and play with cousins. We had SO much fun, but we crave that for our kids and are both kind of sad it wasn’t one of the things that stuck around while we raise our littles.

We have some fun stuff planned for the rest of July and August for our podcast. We hope you join us then and if you loved today’s episode, would you do us a favor? Share this with a friend or family member. We love when you share our episodes with those you love.

Join us today as we switch things up a little bit. We both talk about our faith a lot as one of our passions we bring to this podcast. Our faith as a Christian mom and the status of our country led us to this topic today. We won’t get too political, and we certainly hope our message today comes off only as love. We are just a couple of normal mommas over here that put our faith first, and sometimes that means taking a stand for what we believe in. We talk about mom life most of the time here, but we felt we needed to pause and talk on what’s going on around us and how that affects us as mom raising children in this world.

We hope that you hang with us towards the middle and end, because that’s where this episode gets GOOD as we get our feet wet and discuss a tough topic that not a lot of people want to talk about. Again, we HOPE this all comes off only as love. We are called to love, each and every one of you.

Have you checked your mental health lately? Leslie brought some GREAT questions you should be asking yourself if you aren’t feeling things lately. Maybe you don’t feel enough joy as you feel you should. If that is the case, take a few minutes to ask yourself these questions and dive in with us as we discuss this today.

It’s the end of June, which means we are halfway thru 2022. Mentally, are you okay? How are you talking to yourself? Who are you around and following on social media? What and how is your confidence level? Because how your portray yourself, is how other perceive you. What are your standards/boundaries and how are you setting them? Did you set any goals for 2022, what have you achieved from your list? How did you set your goals for the year? Here are a few tips on setting goals and NO its not too late to set some goals, boundaries and standards for 2022, at least for the rest of it.

Tips for setting goals:

  1. Choose a goal(s) that are worthwhile and make YOU HAPPY.

  2. Make them achievable- Be realistic.

  3. Be Specific. So Specific. If you are the praying the type, Pray about them and PRAY SPECIFIC!

  4. Commit to them.

  5. Tell people about them. Accountability is a beautiful thing.

  6. Prioritize the goals. Don’t be afraid to put them in order by what’s more important or more achievable first.

  7. Make the REAL to you—again, be realistic.

  8. Set deadlines to push you to reach them.

  9. Take time to step back and evaluate your goals. Are they working for YOU?

  10. Last, but most important (we think) Reward yourself when you reach a goal! Did you reach the first one? CELEBRATE you and the fact that you did it! That will help you be more encouraged to keep going.

It’s hard in today’s world NOT to get sucked into the FB and social media vortex of fear. Dive in with us as we touch on this topic and some others as we just chat about life. We both agree that we get stuck in scrolling through social media, the fear creeps in, right? It is so easy to let it steal your joy too. Stephanie talks about a social media fast she took a couple years ago and how that allows her to be more mindful of her scrolling through FB and getting sucked in. Leslie talks about the same thing, how she doesn’t let the negativity set in and steal her good moods for her day. They set their days up right with God’s word and a workout, but also admit its so easy to forget and mindlessly scroll. We encourage you to set limits, If you have an iPhone there is a setting with screen limits you can set for yourself and your kids. It’s a very easy tool to use on the smart phones so you can track where you are spending your time.

We weren’t meant to fear anything of this world. Don’t let the fear mongering sink in today and steal your joy.

not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

We start off today’s episode talking about How to find Your Purpose. What is God calling you to do in your life? Have you heard His calling over your life? It’s hard to find and figure that out and it doesn’t always have to be a “career move” it could be your calling to be a mom, a servant in your community, or to start a bible study at your local church. Your calling could be anything that God is leading you to do. Something that brings you joy and might come easier to you than others that might be doing something similar. We have shared a few encouraging verses about this and a couple devotionals that might help steer you in this “fork in the road” if you are currently there. If so, we are praying for you. We did end up talking about A LOT more life then just this topic. So make sure you tune in and join us for this chat and please share the episode if it touched you and you think something might need to hear it.

First off, we want to start off with a prayer over the families in Texas; Lord may you guide them, may you provide them with the strength, the courage and the understanding for their kids and family member being taken WAY too soon. We ask for peace and comfort in this hard, HARD time for them. Lord may your presence be known with each and every of them that were affected by this tragedy. We pray this over families, the community and every where in between, if you MIGHTY name, Amen.

We wanted to take a second to talk about this, as it was on Leslie’s heart, and a lot will ask. WHY? Why does the Lord let things like this happen? Let us start by sharing the comforting verse, John 16:33 reassures that we will have trouble, but to fear not, for he has overcome the world. This is NOT his world we are living in today. We pray that everyone sees that evil is all around us, This tragedy and many others were led by evil, not love. We must continue to love one another.

We would also LOVE to share with your our two to three main tips on how we created that morning routine that we both love and cherish so deeply as wives and moms we HAVE to be able to put ourselves first. We both reiterate this is NOT selfish.

Leslie’s Three ways of thinking for starting her day:

I am tired no matter what time I wake up, whether its 4:00 am or 7:00 am. I'm not always motivated. Those days I make myself get up.

Giving myself that two hours in the morning to be alone has  made me a better wife and mom. It has connected me more with God and helps calm my anxiety.

I seriously LOVE my energize and my workouts. Finding something I love to do is HUGE! If you don’t love it, its easy to NOT show up.

Stephanie’s Three Tips:

Tip #1 Find something that EXCITES you enough to get out of bed.

Tip #2 Make yourself do it. This turns into motivation, which then will eventually turn into discipline.

Tip #3 Be kind to yourself, when you mess up or skip a day—Don’t give up on that goal.

How do we approach this topic? OUCH!! It’s a tough one. It really is, if you sit back and think about it. Were you talked to about this? Did your parents give you the talk? If so, what and how did they do it? Dive in with us as we talk about this “shameful” topic now days? Why can’t we talk about intimacy in our marriages? Why can’t we normalize, as moms and wives to talk about this. It can be a stressor if we let it. So why not talk it out with some girlfriends. Maybe if we did that more often, we would know HOW to approach this topic with our teens. In this world, if we don’t stand up and teach them what is right and how God created intimacy and sex. Then this world and its secular view will teach them something different. Maybe that won’t align with your values. So, grab a bottle of water or a glass of wine and listen as we tackle this topic.

hero starts with HER has changes coming! I am so excited what this platform has done for me and for the future of hero starts with HER! After having another guest interview reschedule again for today's episode I struggled with what to put out there. After expressing to a friend on what to even do, she reminded me of one thing. She reminded me to keep my eyes on the cross and not the storm. To just be true and honest and let myself take that break and not stress myself out even more. I couldn't be more grateful for her and needing to hear it at just the time I did. Please allow me patience and grace during this time as changes are happening along with all of lifes events of motherhood and work life. And, follow along as an announcement is coming soon!

Today's episode I talk about protecting your vibe. In order to be at peace and authentically live out your life the way you want, you have to play by your own rules. Stop the comparison game, hanging around anyone who is draining, maybe spends more time gossiping about others. We have to let go of the things we cannot control.

Keep your faith bigger then your fear. God has wrote out each and everyone of our plans already for us. Look at the signs he is sending you. They are all around us!

What is a Unruly Woman?

An Unruly Woman embraces that she is on this earth not to control others and not be controlled. Her goal is to live her life authentically through God and her soul.

An Unruly Woman lives her life not by what society, the government, friends, family say it should be but by what God has created her to be.
An Unruly Woman guides and nurtures her family and raises them to be their best versions of themselves while guarding them fiercely.

An Unruly Woman is empathetic, loving, kind and is strong as hell. She is a warrior. She knows she is nowhere near perfect but every day she tries for not only herself but for family as a whole. Her biggest fear is living her life full of regret. Deep down she wishes she would stop giving so much to everyone else and start giving to herself more because she knows she was meant for greatness.

She knows that even when it’s scary, she has to take action to get the work done. She colors outside of the lines.

Unruly Woman don’t play by the rules. Unruly Woman knows the rules are bullshit. Rules were made to be broken.

You are allowed to set boundaries, and you are allowed to tell anyone goodbye that doesn't want to respect them.

Join Stephanie and I while we talk in today's episode of what setting boundaries means to us and why it is so important. You don't need validation from anyone on how you are living your life. We discuss how it's hard to let that person or people go that make you feel 'less then'. You can keep their well-being in your prayers but take a path, away from them.

Since you guys seemed to love so much the first time I had my husband on I thought it would be great to bring him on again.

Its's been heavy on my heart the past couple weeks and it seems to be a topic that keeps getting brought to my attention. Something I myself and Brandon have been through. The people closest to us know the depth of what that is. But WE are the only ones that truly knew what it felt like being alone at night not knowing what the next day would bring. We were lost, we were broken and we truly didn't know what to do. It takes BOTH people to make a relationship work. It's not 50/50. It's 100/100.

It's OK to reach out and ask for that help. NOT your friends, NOT a sibling. Sure you have your vent sessions but when you need real help, you need a third party that has can view both sides and help you become whole again and how to communicate to each other. Your spouse is not a mind reader. Don't expect them to know what it is you're thinking and feeling if you have not clearly communicated.

It’s ok to not have it all together or feel like you know what you are doing, for where you are weak, that is where he is strong, so boast all the more gladly and loudly in your weakness. He will show you what to do. And the Holy Spirit is not a formula or a system to follow, he is a person we are in a relationship with, leading us everyday step by step as mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, parents, and friends, take the pressure off yourself to have all the answers or to know what to do next, he will do the rest when YOU just rest in him.

Whatever it is that you are looking to get out of your life, make sure your putting the work in to get yourself there. Make sure you putting yourself and your mindset in the right place. You become what you read, pay attention too and by who you surround your self with. Life seems to always through us the curve ball when we finally feel like we're getting our grounding. Don't let it keep you there. You are the ONLY one that can get you to that next level, to that destination you so badly want. God wouldn't have put in on your heart if it wasn't meant for you. Be the hero in your own life!

View Details

Today's episode brings me all the feels. And if I'm being completely honest, I've never been so vulnerable. I'm going to say it... we live in a shitty world right now and as much as we have freedom (somewhat ;)) to say and post whatever we want, doesn't give us the right to be a crappy person towards others and feel we deserve respect back. People who are struggling don't go around and shout it from the roof tops. Someone who is in a really dark place is afraid to reach out for help so in turn they put up a front that 'all is well'. When you see that, reach out, give them a hello so they can feel they are not alone. Or just so they can 'feel'. Making a comment directed towards them of the picture you have painted of them, may just do them in. It will let their inner demon laugh at them and tell them 'I told you so'. So many people, daily, talk about being the better person. So BE THAT PERSON! All of it starts within ourselves. You never know what someone else is battling within themselves.

This weeks episode is a bit different. I've been struggling with my inner mean girl and Steph is my 'go-to' when I need that escape. We went live in our Facebook group for 'Mental Health Monday' and we got such great feedback that I wanted to share here for others to dive in and take a listen. We are both passionate about our faith and creating a safe space for anyone to go. Sometimes a good bit*h session with a friend or a day out is all our soul needs. It's all about the real and raw moments. We get some mommy moments in there with Steph's daughter, Laina, finds a moth in her bed and needs Mom to come save her! ;)

Grab a hot coffee or cold beverage if it's that time ;) and unwind with us.

Today's episode I am so excited to bring to you, 10 Seconds with Knox News! Knox will be joining us each week to share the highlight of his week to add in a little fun and something extra! I don't even know ahead of time what will be said!

I have struggled with trying to balance this new lifestyle I am venturing through so in today's episode I share little tidbits of what I am working through to stay level headed.

Today's episode came to me in a video clip I watched last week and truly hit me and has changed the way I view my daily routine and actions. Life is always busy, there is always something going on and we can never seem to catch a break or get caught up OR do anything for ourselves!

I’m a good mom, I’m a good wife, I'm a good friend, I'm a good employee but I want to be better at all of those things so I’m looking for help.

A wife is something you are to your husband, a mother is something you are to your children, an employee is something you are to your employer but who are you to yourself? Who are you after all of that? Who are you outside of those roles?

Whatever it is that you are doing. If you’re a SAHM, working mom that wants to climb the corporate ladder, whatever it is just know keep doing your best! The devil is throwing the ‘impossible’ right at you. He’s throwing you the curve balls to knock you down and keep you there. He knows change is coming. He sees the greatness. Don’t let that stop you! It is ok to walk away from something that is no longer serving you.

There is NO EXCUSE to not living up to your full potential! Stop saying ‘when I’m ready’ stop saying ‘my boss doesn’t give me credit’… STOP blaming other people for what YOU'RE not doing.

Start showing up. Start setting that alarm and learn every damn day to get the job done. Instead of placing the blame on other people, look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself ‘I let me down”... “I didn’t give 120%”.

Do you want to continue staying down OR are you ready to get up?  Your disappointment is on you!

This weeks episode is sending out the tough love. Your life tells your story. Tired of your dead end job, tired of the way you’re feeling, tired of medical bills, car repairs and? How about being tired of the debt you put yourself in for 'unnecessary' items you 'had' to have? You know exactly what you need to do to change it! Stop lying to yourself and tell yourself the truth! You either are ready to make a change or you’re not. You’re either doing it or your not doing it. You’re either with it or you not with it. There is no unfair BS. You’re not a victim. You’re a victim of yourself. You’re a victim of your OWN voice telling yourself to NOT do the things you know you are supposed to do.

I am always so excited to dive into new episodes but today's I feel is more vulnerable and emotional then any others I've done. Waking up to an alarm every morning to something that is dragging you down and no longer serving you is your sign to walk away! That goes for ANY aspect of your life! Life is SO incredibly short and by continuing to pour into something that drains us will only set you back that much further from what you KNOW you are capable of. Not everyone in life will have the vision you do and that is OK! It isn't for them to understand. ALL that matters is how it makes YOU feel!

My top FIVE friends I like to have in my ear for that encouragement are: Mel Robbins, Grant Cardone, Glennon Doyle, Dave Ramsey and above all, The Bible.

I am crazy excited to have Stephanie join me in today's episode!! Can we just say that the power of social media can be so amazing!!? Stephanie and I dive in to what nobody ever talks about! Sex, marriage, motherhood, etc!

Maybe you're looking to join a community of like minded woman as an escape from the day you had, heck even the week! We are all coming out from OVER A YEAR LONG quarantine and whether we want to admit to it or not we all need someone to lean on. Putting your time in to a community will help you break down some walls or just give you an adult conversation you may not get to have during the day.

One of the best things about all of this is that joining a community has opened SOO many unexpected doors for me I never even knew about! Something I never knew that was missing out of my life!

Are you ready to check it out?? Find us on IG and/or Facebook for more details!

Today's episode we dive into your core value of your finding your niche! Maybe you don't know exactly what that is yet! Maybe you have multiple things you love doing but just aren't getting all of it done when the days ending and you need to prioritize better. How many times do you stop to check your phone or go to dinner with a bestie and the work you said you were going to do today (but also said the same thing yesterday) gets pushed of to tomorrow.

The best thing you can work on is finding the gifts that God has given to you and give them back to the world!

What is more important to you? All the distractions and stopping at every little thing just so ‘we don’t miss out on something’ or working on what you’re envisioning for your future of what could be?

To start this week's episode we get a inside peek of Knox's highlights from being in 3rd grade and what he is most excited about this Summer!

You always hear how no one person is the same, right? So why do we expect others to raise or live how they do? Or to their expectations?

We want others to embrace their bodies but only if they are the bodies we think of as 'acceptable', right?

It's the shaming for me.....

Who are you surrounding yourself with? Not just in your daily life but also on social media. Living in a mindset of complaining and gossiping daily only adds stress to your life.

  • I am going to let go of playing small.

  • I am strong enough to handle anything that is thrown in my life.

  • Bit by bit I am creating a life that I love.

  • I am full of potential and I have so much to offer the world.

Book mentioned- 5 love languages

Stop letting fear keep you in your 'safe place'. Stop letting fear keep you where you are. Growth is not possible if you don't have courage to face the unknown. Fear is what is holding you back from your BEST case scenarios that are in front of you.

Last week was a rough week so in today's episode I touch on personal development and how we can push past the negative that comes with everyday life and live out our best lives! The book I mention in the episode and forgetting the others name (sorry!) is Untamed by Glennon Doyle. Another favorite that seriously changed everything is , Fear is My Homeboy by Judi Holler.
