The Great Asian Pushback features stories of defiance and of hope from all Southeast and East Asia. Amidst the dominance of populism, authoritarianism and illiberalism, these narratives show that there are still many people and organizations in the subregion which believe in liberal and democratic values, and which attempt to instill these principles in their respective societies. By sharing these stories, the podcast series aims to empower and inspire those who continue the difficult fight for democracy and freedom in the subregion and beyond.
