We explore toxic masculinity in grief.. how much  this affects men in the immediate occurrence of loss, and further down the line and how to potentially dismantle the barriers that toxic masculinity raises when faced with grief.

We also discuss the role of preparation in grieving, and how much preparedness takes away from the stress of grieving.

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!!

We did it Joe!

This episode, I thought to do something different and I invited more friends to be a part of the journal as we reflect on how 2020 impacted our views on grief, loss and death. From medical frontline staff accounts to personal truths, the episode explores four very different viewpoints and the lessons carried forward to 2021. Hear the raw and truthful feelings from those so close to death and possibly identify with these stories.

Do you struggle to open up about the loss you've experienced?

In 2010, Seyi lost his father. Years later, he opens up for the first time ever about what this means. In this episode, my good friend Seyi 'Shols' Aina shares the story of the loss of his father exploring the impact that it has had over 11 years later. We talk about how it happened, his reaction or lack thereof (he reasons why he didn't cry when he learnt that his father had passed) and what's happened since then and how he identifies (or not) with his grief and how he relates to others grieving.
