When Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem, he found more than just broken walls, he found broken lives. The restoration of the walls was just the beginning. Now he needs to rebuild lives and community focused on worshipping God and put things in place so that they would stay strong and not regress. Chapters 1-6 describe the restoration of the wall of Jerusalem. Chapters 8-13 tell about the restoration of the people of Judah.

This is the first of three Alpha messages from the Holy Spirit weekend where we will explore who the Holy Spirit is, see how he has been at work in people’s lives, find out what he does, and finally show how he wants to fill us to overflowing.
Today we are going to answer the question, “How Does God Guide Us?” If someone were to ask you that question, what would your answer be? We are going to look at five ways that God guides us. Depending on the situation, you may use one of the ways or you might need to use all five ways depending on what you need.

These are questions that most Christians have at one point or another struggled with. In this message Josiah Olmos will tell about why it is important for us to have a relationship with the bible and how it is the inspired word of God; even sharing about his own relationship with the bible.
Surveys indicate that most people pray. Even people who don’t consider themselves religious find themselves praying from time to time. If that is the case, how can we pray in a way that is meaningful and effective?
This week we are looking at the evidence for believing in Christianity. How are faith and trust connected? What defines a Christian? How can a person make sure they have made the right decision? Join us as we explore these and other important questions!
If we are honest, we all have to admit that we do things we know are wrong. In this presentation we look at the problem of sin, God’s solution, and the result of Jesus’ death. We may have heard that Jesus died on the cross, but we are left asking the question, “Why did He die?” Does Jesus’ death really have relevance to our lives today? Why are we so good at rationalizing our mistakes and feeling superior to others?
Is there evidence that Jesus was a real person? Was Jesus just a great man, or was he more than that? Today we sort through historical witness and written testimony about Jesus, as well as examine the claims he made about being God.
Does God exist? What is my purpose? We've asked these questions too. In the Alpha sermon series we explore these and more of life's big questions.
It is the kickoff to our 21 days of prayer and fasting and Pastor Doug will be sharing a message for this coming year entitled Darker Nights and Brighter Days. He will show us how even though the enemy is pushing for more and more control in this world, God's people will stand strong to see God do great things and shine bright in the middle of the darkness.
The Gospel of Matthew chapter 2 presents a central claim of Jesus' identity and mission. Namely, that Jesus is the Davidic King, the Messiah who will save Israel and therefore the world. Herod and Magi have significant different reactions to this explosive challenge. The question is how will you respond?
Do you feel like you aren’t qualified to be a part of what God is doing, maybe you doubt that he can use you?. As we are in the final countdown to Christmas let’s look at how God uses an unlikely pair through which to work his wonders.
Does it seem like life is quickly passing you by and what you have been believing and praying for looks impossible and leaving you feeling discouraged and now disqualified ?. In our first Christmas message we will meet Zachariah who experiences a significant miracle to birth John the Baptist who will fulfill prophecy and prepare the way for Jesus.
The visit of the shepherds at birth of Jesus reminds us that he came for all people and we are to likewise demonstrate that in how we treat others.

Following Jesus can be very dangerous in many places in the world. Yet in spite of persecution, God’s Kingdom is advancing as many are coming to faith in Christ! The Voice of the Martyrs Canada’s Greg Musselman will be sharing stories of believers who refuse to be silenced in sharing the Gospel and have an unshakable faith. Greg will bring updates from around the world including Afghanistan, Nigeria and Iran of not only persecution, but of the many victories.

Pastor Doug shares the final message entitled TRANSPARENT in our series Ancient Texts for Modern Times. He shows us from Psalm 139 how only one person truly knows us - even far better than we know ourselves. He knows our motives and our hearts, our fears, thoughts, dreams and frustrations. And even as we stand completely transparent before Him, He loves and accepts us unconditionally.
Will the foundation that you are building your life on sustain you in the long term? A firm foundation is essential in being able to stand strong through the changing seasons and storms of life. Pastor OJ draws from the ancient texts of Psalm 127 and the relevant words of Jesus to describe how we can build our life on a firm foundation.
We’re very destination oriented as a culture. We say things like, “when I get this raise, things will be okay” or “when restrictions are lifted, things will be back to normal”. But we’re told to seek God during the journey, in the middle of our storms. That he lovingly watches over us when things are good, and when they’re bad.
All too often we are quick to initiate prayer to God, but without first acknowledging or appreciating him. This psalm of King David reminds us of the importance of first recognizing and responding to God’s goodness to us in our lives.
We will all experience fear but it's how react to it that matters. David, as much as anyone else, often felt overwhelmed by fear and it even caused him to not think clearly and make bad decisions. But eventually, he would get his heart right as he focused on God’s promises of protection and would not let go. Pastor Doug shows us through a study of Psalm 91 that we don't need to let fear defeat us either.
Is there something weighing on your heart? Do you feel like you have gone too far and God just left you? In this message Josiah Olmos and Pastor OJ walks through repentance and how God’s transformative work takes place when we make ourselves vulnerable to him.

Pastor Doug wraps up our AfterLife series. He shows us that how we live now does matter and it is worth it - the decisions we make, the responsibility we take for all that God has entrusted us with. Loving God and loving and caring for others are eternal principles that determine our eternal rewards. We need to keep our eye on the prize, keep our eye on the shore, finish the race, because there is an afterlife and in the end it IS worth it.
Hell is a place that wasn't meant for people. God has made a way that we don't have to be there one day. To find how, listen to Pastor Bev's sermon based on Revelation 20:11 - 12.

On Friday, the Shadow of Death hung over all of humanity - darkness literally covered the earth. All Hope was gone. The saviour, the deliverer, the Messiah was DEAD. Dead and buried and all were in shock. The disciples were in hiding wondering if they would be next. But the Power of Love was waiting, was hovering, was preparing to move, preparing to resurrect, preparing to restore, preparing to provide eternal Hope.

Pastor Doug concludes the Philippians’ series entitled “Seeing in Technicolor by showing how throughout the book of Philippians we have learned some eternal lessons that are key to whatever we go through in life no matter how difficult. They have been keys to having joy, being content, seeing things from God’s perspective. That is why Paul, in the middle of the most discouraging circumstances, beaten, in prison, preparing to die, could still praise God. Through everything he went through he had learned that He could face whatever was before Him, he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him and that a life lived generously giving to God and giving to others would always see the faithfulness of God in providing for all of his needs and even more so that he could be a blessing to others.
What do you focus on? What do you spend your time thinking about? Watching? Listening to? Pastor Nathan dives into a message explaining that what we focus on, is what we live out in our lives. And how it’s not only good enough to think about “good” things but be putting them into action as well.
This scripture encourages us to not live with anxiety, but rather to bring our concerns before God in prayer. We are living in a world filled with chaos and uncertainty. The disciplined runner trains long hours and conditions his/her body to reach its maximum potential. One of the Apostle Paul’s favorite metaphors for Christian living was the race. In Acts 3:12 – 16 he pictured followers of Jesus Christ as athletes competing in a footrace pushing towards the finish line. To become winning champions in this race towards becoming like Christ, there are five essentials for every athlete – dissatisfaction, concentration, direction, dedication, and collaboration.
Paul warns the Philippian believers to be careful not to give in to a particularly aggressive and dangerous group that wanted to convince them to return to a religious, “I can save myself” mentality. False righteousness is like a dim, dirty lamp. Jesus’ righteousness in and on us is a fully bright, color-popping light for maximum brilliance!
