This series will be about how to shift mindsets to get thru the darkness and the reason why this podcast came to life. To emphasize mental resilience and mental health. Think of "Mind over Matter" as finding the balance between the mind and body (emotions, thoughts, God, spiritual intellect, ego).

Our first guest of the series is Nikolette. Teen mom turned life guru. Really though! It was inspiring to hear her conscientious parenting testimony from breaking generational patterns, keeping an identity outside of motherhood, to advocating for holistic medicine and more. A lot of gems in this episode, we talk about co-parenting, self-care, and immunizations. Reminding us that mother’s love is strong, no matter the age and to stop judging teen moms.

Just know though, couples with faith are built different.
Sometimes life has a domino effect, at times it can break you but with faith it can transform you. Each testimony has shown us the depths of how God has changed lives, and Mariah’s story is no different. Mariah shares her trials and tribulations and how she lives by faith not by sight. I love hearing inspiring stories, especially about love, relationships, family and God. This was one really special and I couldn’t imagine a better finish to our faith series and segway into our motherhood series.
Thank you all for tuning into this series!

About this series
Sometimes we get stuck in the “grind” and lose ourselves in the process, we become bent on the failures & setbacks. We lose confidence in our own abilities or even forget what real confidence looks and feels like. Whether you’re in the season of grinding towards your goals or even surviving the day-to-day grind. We can’t forget ourselves, our loved ones, our purpose. You have to adapt, stay focused, constantly refocus and also forgive yourselves in the process and above all never compare your season to someone else’s. You need to believe and you gotta keep growing to build confidence! Invited 5 very special guests this series!
Just know though, celebrate yourself.
Episode Guest - Aleena
It’s here, the last episode of this series! Following the trend this series, with more meaningful messages for anyone in the season of self-belief. Our guest Aleena is truly a beautiful soul. A fearless woman embracing the grinding & confidence journey. A narcissistic abuse survivor, resilient yet humble, courageous yet kind. We discuss the importance of building, investing time back into yourself, and grinding until you find the best version that makes YOU happy, not anyone else. I for one have learned so much about myself through each of the guests this series. I hope you do too, and share with a friend. Thank you for listening and supporting. I’m praying and hoping for courage and confidence for anyone who seeks it in this season of life.

Just know though, there is power in redefining yourself.
Life is a rollercoaster, and sometimes your confidence and grinding journey is a bumpy road whether changes happen for better or worse. Confidence is a journey and our special guest, Nathan talks about the power of rebuilding and redefining ourselves, and our goals. We talk about the importance of finding the balance and expressing gratitude in what you have even if you aren’t where you want to be!
In this episode we talk about finding the balance of following your dreams, redefining yourself through different stages in life, first generation struggles and more. Nathan reminder us not to relate confidence with validation. Support brings confidence but it doesn’t keep it there, you have to learn to grind and flourish without the spotlight! In the season of belief you have to believe even when you're not where you want to be.
Thank you for listening & God Bless! Grinding & Confidence series finale 8/17!
SPECIAL SURPRISE DROP!
We are half way through 2021 and halfway through this series, listen to why I started this podcast and why this series is so special to me. Thank you for your support!
Just know though, fight fear with action.
So happy for this collab, if you liked E2, you're going to feel this one!
If you’re in the season of grinding, don’t lose confidence. Don’t let fear paralyze you, you’re meant to succeed. We're delivering this message, so take a listen on your drive to work or while you're cleaning, because there are some gems in this episode.
Halfway through this series, Brandon reminds us of the spirit of determination sharing his humbling and inspiring story defeating seeds of unbelief. He sheds light on the power of fighting fear with action and nourishing the journey with a healthy state of mind.
There is wisdom to be found in failure, its going to be a hard journey so have grace, and when you find it, you’ll find peace in the grind. Don't worry about others taking the elevator, for there is wisdom to be found while you're taking the stairs. Fight seeds of unbelief with hope, action, and preparation. Thank you for listening!
When I started, my vision and my promise to myself for this project was to deliver intentional content. Intentional content to lift others up, in a social media, technology driven world, that feeds comparison, feeds competition, feeds distractions, feeds loneliness, even malice and judgment. I'm fulfilling this promise. Thank you to each one of my guests thus far for grinding with me on this project.

Kickin off this Grinding & Confidence series is my amiga, my dear friend Jackie! & it just so happens its a bonus that I'm partnering w/ another Salinas podcast host! s/o to 831 Comadres!
The truth is - for most confidence is a journey. For some, the journey starts with us being tested, tested spiritually, mentally, emotionally. When life hits, when life just isn't going as planned. If you're in this season of life, this episode may be for you. Because if we’re lucky, resilient, and patient, if we keep pushing on the journey we find ourselves and lift our spirits from the darkest of places. Jackie’s inspiring journey has taken place over the course of two years. Its truly humbling for me! Jackie shares her story overcoming her personal battles, letting go of friends, finding her purpose and becoming strong and confident. She reminds us, that positivity, manifesting and believing in yourself will change your life for the better.
Just know though, listen to your heart.
What a way to close out this five-episode series!
Our guest Karla reminds us that following our heart means accepting that other things around us can and will change but if it's meant to be, it will all fit. When we are honest with ourselves, when we are willing to ask ourselves what is truly in our hearts, we open ourselves up to possibility. Possibility to fulfill our hearts. Trust me when I say, we were vibing this session, Karla experiences are so relatable. If there is anything to takeaway this episode is to not settle for less and to forget the timeline and pressures that society, our families or even ourselves create because life is unpredictable.
I couldn't have asked for a better closing of this love & sacrifices series and segue into our next series! Thank you so much for listening to this series. I hope and pray for your hearts to be fulfilled.

What an honor to have this beautiful soul with a contagious laugh on this episode!
Our special guest Ariel, is the reminder I think we all need - to persevere and to stay true to ourselves when life hits us hard, when life doesn't let up and during those times you can still look back and learn life lessons, you can still keep growing, you can flourish. She is an open book, sharing snippets of her life and inspiring chapters if you're willing to listen. Ariel talks about having divorced parents, the hardships of being a teen mom, losing her mom while getting her college degree and being a mommy of 5, soon to be 6! Ariel emphasizes that life isn't easy but what is most important is to be kind to not only to others but to yourself and that love is sacrifice and it can be painful. The only way out is through, because when life happens we always need to fight and help others during their fight too.
Just know though, its triple the love.
Riding Mother’s Day spirit this episode!
Ashley shows us that single mom’s are just built different. Being a mom is hard but being a “single” mom brings a whole new meaning to motherhood. A level of emotional strength because you are making decisions and coming up with creative solutions on your own. This episode is about defeating the odds, overcoming stigmas and the power of prayer. There is so much power in letting go, and when you do that, you make room for something more meaningful. Triple the love in Ashley's case. Itstriple the work, triple the stress and triple the tears but also triple the hugs, triple the love and triple the pride. This episode gave me life, and I'm so excited for you guys to listen!
Just know though, there is nothing like a mother's love.
Our first guest of the series, and its a banger! A must listen for Mother’s day. Our guest Lucero shares relationship advice and serves us mom wisdom, it is a beautiful heartfelt episode. She reminds us to be steadfast, resilience yet flexible, intentional yet selfless in true mom energy fashion. Emphasizing that creating boundaries, prioritizing ones self, and sacrifices are the true meaning of love. Key takeaways are to take it day by day and ultimately, that bad times and struggles will ALWAYS subside. Time and time again, I’m so moved. I’m so touched and honored to have these convos and showcase inspirational individuals. My co-host Alex and I felt this one. We hope you do too. #momlife #literalmomgoals

Just know though, love and sacrifices costs.
Some say compromise is the foundation of a relationship. Others say throw compromise out the window and selflessly sacrifice. What do you think?
Kickin off our second series is Alex! I know we’ve all done selfless things for love, maybe even stupid things for love. This includes compromising on a daily basis, BUT have you found yourself sacrificing for the greater good, for love, for someone else's happiness? If one partner is constantly abandoning his or her dreams to satisfy the needs of their partner, it is not a compromise but a sacrifice.
We dive deep into defining the meaning of love and differentiating compromise vs. sacrifice by discussing love languages, self-worth and communication through different relationship perspectives. We are setting the theme for the series, if you're in that season of love and sacrifices take a listen!

Just know though, love is powerful & time is precious.
Life grows around grief. Most times, the hardest journeys are the ones that leave us profoundly affected and deeply changed. During these journeys the relationships with ourselves evolves unexpectedly, just like life. Through hard times, we often learn to care for ourselves better, to nurture our relationships better. Good self-care is essential to our survival and when we know how to take care of ourselves, we are resilient. It isn't selfish, its necessary. No one knows the internal struggles, and emotional battles that run through our mind endlessly especially during loss, grief, anxiety, depression, etc. Alex shares her journey of losing several people in her life during her 20s. We dive into coping through the grieving process, building support systems, and the importance of nurturing relationships. She is truly inspiring, and I'm honored to share her story.

Rosie and Bria let it all out, and let me tell you. One of the best friend duos out there! We dive into what it means to identify yourself, the benefits of knowing your family history, being unique, and beautiful friendships.
I hope this gives us all something to think about, something that resonates deep within us, and gives us the confidence to own who we are, and not let society dictate how we should view ourselves. We talkin talkin in this one and I apologize for the audio quality in advance, its a virtual/remote world we live in right now.

Half way through our first series of "know yourself" HOORAY!
Want to know what is just as important as being yourself, and following your dreams? Being and having a ride or die support system, it is crucial for our sanity, thats why they say no new friends, right? I think what they really mean is know your support systems, recognize those red flags, who you surround yourself with, the company you keep, who you confide in dark times. The last thing you need is a disingenuous supporter. Who better than my good friend, Tiffany to cover this topic. We discuss both the receiving and giving end for different types of relationships. Ya'll need to listen to this one!

Bringing you a male perspective this episode! You must know yourself and be true to who you are in order to have long term, flourishing relationships and friendships no matter which season in life you are in. Anthony reminds us, that no matter the struggle or journey to always make ourselves a priority. He gives his insight as we discuss the top tips to be yourself in a relationship. There is no better time than the present to love yourself, be kind, take risks, or walk away no matter where you are in your life, gender or age. You can't love others if you don't love yourself, and we should be cautious of not repeating the cycle of toxic relationships.

In the season of getting to know yourself, self doubt can cloud your judgement, for some it can even be paralyzing, especially when you are competing for opportunities and following your dreams. This episode features an accomplished, unapologetic and inspiring guest. Bria reminds us to regain our confidence, reminding us that no one can do you, like YOU! So own it, don't be scared to just try, and go for it! There is power and growth in getting to know yourself in uncomfortable seasons. She shares her inspiring story of community support and the unexpected outcome of owning who you are, what makes you different, and where you come from. #Salinas
