Ge 37:5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. 6 So he said to them, “Please hear this dream
which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your
sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” 8 And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you

Ge 38:1 It came to pass at that time that Judah departed from his brothers, and visited a certain Adullamite whose name was Hirah. 2 And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite whose name was Shua, and he married her and went in to her. 3 So she conceived and bore a son, and he called his name Er. 4 She conceived again and bore a son, and she called his name Onan. 5 And she conceived yet again and bore a son, and called his name Shelah. told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream.
And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to
me.” 10 So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father
rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have
dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to
bow down to the earth before you?” 11 And his brothers envied him, but

If we are wise, we will give the more earnest heed to those things we heard this weekend from the wisdom brought forth from above. Choosing to separate ourselves from the wisdom from below. Choosing to see ourselves as a new creation, choosing to see ourselves as we really are, and choosing to conduct our lives accordingly –

Now to go back to where we ended our last study, we will recall that God had told Adam that in the day that he ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil he would surely die, and we had seen that what died that day was Adam’s and the Woman’s spirit. That part of their being that had a direct connection with God. They experienced a separation from God.

But if we are ever to fulfill the purpose for which God created us, we will have to be in the same condition as Adam and the Woman before the fall; a live spirit, a soul without a sin nature, an immortal body covered with glory.
A quick calculation will reveal that we have one of the three, but not all the three.
And if God’s purpose for us is to be ful6illed – which it must – just remember our opening scripture, then there must also be provision for the salvation for our soul and body – and as we don’t have that salvation now, it must remain something out ahead of us.
And it is no surprise that this is what Scripture shows.

Now see what the Holy Spirit says through Peter on the Day of Pentecost with regards to the Lord’s resurrection - Ac 2:23 "Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 "whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. 25 "For David says concerning Him: 'I foresaw the LORD always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. 26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. 27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. 28 You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.' 29 "Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 "Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, 31 "he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32 "This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.

So far in our study of the full scope of salvation we have seen the context into which salvation is placed – a context that reveals God’s plans and purposes for His Son, clearly revealed in - Col 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Ge 1:3 ¶ Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
We see then God acting sovereignly to begin the process of the creation’s restoration – bringing light where there was only darkness and making a division between the two. This is entirely God’s work as the ruined creation is completely unable to help itself.
The total restoration of the creation takes another five days – followed by a day of rest. Setting the pattern that must be followed.

As we had gone back into the foundation in Genesis last time, we had seen that Man is indeed a three-part being and this is borne out by comparing Scripture with Scripture - 1Th 5:23 ¶ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
And we had seen from Scripture in Genesis that not only does God make Man in His image He creates Man for a specifically stated purpose – ‘let them have dominion – literally – ‘let them rule over'.
And that God used the plural pronoun ‘them’ pointing to the fact that in order to fulfill the purpose for his creation the Man needed a helper comparable to him.
Ge 2:18 ¶ And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."
This of course gives us the type to be fulfilled in the antitype by Christ and His Bride.

When we think of the word salvation mostly, we will think of the cross of Calvary, and we think of an eternity in heaven for those who are saved and an eternity in hell for those who are lost.
In these statements however there is much that is scripturally incorrect.
And the reason for this is very simple – our understanding of ‘salvation’ is much too narrow, and it is too narrow because most often we don’t begin our understanding of it in the right place.
When Jesus is walking with two of His disciples on the Road to Emmaus on the day of His resurrection, He reprimanded them for not having properly understood scripture - Lu 24:25 Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 "Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Mt. 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

Mt 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Heb 4:3 For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: "So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest,'" although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Re 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
So what do we see here? We see the Kingdom of Christ, the rule over the earth that God had purposed for His Son from eternity past, being given as an inheritance to Man – and that this inheritance was planned for Man, ‘from the foundation of the world’ – even before man as a created being existed.

Ge 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Last time we had looked at the ‘tree of life’ found in the midst of the Garden, and we had seen how this tree is directly related to rulership and not the provision of eternal life. We had seen this tree featured in one of the overcomers’ promises in the Revelation, again in connection with those who will rule in the Millennial Kingdom.

Before we leave the Garden, let’s make sure that we are absolutely clear about the function of the tree of life - Ge 2:9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
There were two trees in the Garden, whose fruit produced two entirely different outcomes. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil, as we have seen from the experience of Adam and the Woman, produced death. Eating the fruit from that tree brought separation from God’s purpose for them.

Ge 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
The sin that came as a result of Satan’s deception had separated the Man and the Woman from God’s stated purpose for their creation, to have ‘dominion’, to rule. They both ‘died’ in a spiritual sense.
And here is something very important to note. Death in Scripture never has to do with ceasing to exist, it always has to do with separation from God’s purpose.

Ge 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. 22 Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.We had seen last time that there are very significant things recorded in the foundational Scriptures that are essential for us to understand if we are to properly divide the Word of truth so that we may know what our purpose as Christians is and how this impacts what will happen to us in the future.

In beginning then God created the heavens and the earth in a perfect state and Satan was created as the ruler of this one province in God’s universal kingdom and he was given an unspecified number of angels to assist him in his task. However, Satan’s sin brought Divine intervention in the form of judgment resulting in the heavens and the earth becoming formless and void.

We had seen last time that God had worked for a consecutive 6 days to restore the ruined material creation. And in this we can plainly see that God’s work was not finished on Day 1 - Ge 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
13 So the evening and the morning were the third day……..19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day……….23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day……….31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Ro 5: 14 …..Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come……..
We had seen last time that Adam is a ‘type’ of Him who was to come, Christ. Adam then is a depiction of Christ and Christ reflects back on Adam. And this can be easily seen through Adam eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which his wife gave to him. And Adam’s action in this depicts prophetically, Christ becoming sin for us –

Ge 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion
There are very simple, yet very profound truths, that are contained in this foundational verse that we had begun to look at last time.
Foundational truth that cannot ever change, truth that if not received will cause shipwreck in the understanding of Scripture that won’t be recovered from.

Ro 5: 14 …..Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come……..
In our last session we had seen that Adam is a type, or a picture, of Him who was to come. A picture of Christ. And because the Scripture makes this very clear for us, we can understand why Adam ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil when his wife gave it to him –

Between that recorded in Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 something happened that caused the earth to become without form and void and we can know this to be true by going to the Word of God and comparing Scripture with Scripture - Isa 45:18 For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.
The verse here from Isaiah, provides God’s own commentary on Genesis 1:1, and it states categorically that God did not create the earth ‘in vain’. The word that is translated ‘vain’ is the same word translated ‘void’ in Genesis 1:2, the Hebrew word, ‘tohu’.

Ge 1:1 ¶ In [the] beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep………At an unspecified point in eternity past, ‘in beginning’, in Genesis, ‘of old’, in 2 Peter, God created the heavens and the earth, and this creation was perfect.
