This podcast is designed to change the lens on the negative stereotype Teens live with today. We will have real conversations about the pressures they face and what we can do to support, rather than condemn them just because they are "teenagers".
This episode focuses on some positive and inspirational stories about teens in the news. Dedicated to Gianna, whom we lost to suicide 3 years ago at the age of 16. #nationalsuicidepreventionweek
In this episode I got to talk with my former student about fitting in and also about the teenager stereotype. In her college curriculum, she has studied "Observer Bias" and educates us a bit on that.
In this episode I share my personal experience of teenage sexual assault for the first time publicly. I do this because I want young people to know they are not alone, and to learn how and why they need to reach out for help. My hope for this episode is that some conversations are started in homes everywhere, conversations that I know personally have been needing to happen.
In my launch episode, I bring to you Kimber Lybbert, one of the inspirations behind the podcast after her Ted Talk was shared with me by one of my students. View her Ted Talk here!
