In the wake of current events and the rise of artificial intelligence, Gareth Edwards injects a new entry into the sci-fi genre with his film: The Creator. The idea of man vs. machine is explored through the emotional ties and motivations of each of the film's characters. Edwards does a fantastic job in expanding this already existing world with each scene, yet still leaves much to the audience's creativity as to what else is out there. Getting back in the swing of things after our week hiatus, Ethan and I talk about the big bad horror icons and a little bit of Venom 2
This week is our first mega episode, it's a little bit longer than usual but with due cause. Our first guest on the show is writer and director Mike Young, who has directed A Stand Up Guy and My Man is a Loser, and wrote the screenplay for 2020's Adam starring Aaron Paul. On today's episode of The Egg Tor Podcast, Victor and I watched movies we recommended to each other that we had not seen previously. Victor recommended George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road to myself, and I recommended he watched Bong Joon Ho's Okja. We will be posting these short 30 minute videos where we discuss our thoughts on these films for better or worse. The goal is to not go too in depth just talk about what struck cords with each of us.
