In this week’s episode, Pastor Josh emphasizes the need to prioritize achieving joy in our relationship with God. He states how joy and finding the most pleasure and satisfaction as possible is the way to give God the most glory and to endure through any circumstance, and overcome any sin issues. He highlights how joy is not a one time interaction, but we have to keep choosing to make decisions that will produce joy in our lives. He makes several central points: 1. Pursuing temporary happiness is robbing many people from eternal joy 2. Friendship with the World Hinders Us from Experiencing Joy 3. God’s Presence Being the Beginning of Our Pursuit for Joy 4. Increasing Revelation of Perfect Love Increases Our Joy and Desire to Obey His Commands 5. Joy is Ultimately Fulfilled in Jesus’ Second Coming
In this message, Pastor Josh addresses the need for a new standard in how we value the things of God vs. the things of the world, and how we determine our willingness to surrender based on how we value Christ. He discusses: 1. What Causes Us to Value the Wrong Things? 2. Clinging to Our Rights vs. Laying Down Our Lives 3. How the Love of the World Grieves the Holy Spirit in Our Lives.
Pastor Josh discusses the need to understand who the Holy Spirit is so that we can understand how we are initially and continually transformed by the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. He demonstrates three things: 1. The need to acknowledge, know, and value the Holy Spirit 2. Humanity’s need to be delivered from indwelling sin and relying on good works part from the power of the Holy Spirit 3. The Benefits and Identity Transformation that comes from receiving the power and presence of the Holy Spirit as believers.
Pastor Josh follows up the prior message about forming a biblical worldview, by explaining the necessity of forming the right definitions of encounters with God in a biblical worldview. He explains how the only encounter we have with God isn’t at our salvation moment, altar call, or worship set but we are called to a lifetime of encountering God. In this message he covers 3 Topics: 1. Defining the One Necessary Transformative Encounter 2. Correcting Limited Expectations and Definitions of Transformative Encounters 3. Emphasizes the practical yet supernatural needs to know the Word, meditate on the Word, and to submit to Church communities in order to sustain these transformative encounters we have.
Pastor Josh begins the semester by introducing the need for Christians to experience Transformed Living. He communicates that whatever we view about the world around us and our role in it will guide how we live our lives. This frames the discussion about how we need to test to see if our wordlview is formed by the often uncomfortable truths of Bible, or by comfortable truths found in modern culture or ancient traditions. He invites us into having any unbiblical worldviews transformed into a biblical one.
Pastor Josh concludes the series by discussing what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ vs. a false one. More specifically, he addressed 1. Abiding in Christ’s word 2. How His word serves as an anchor for our faith 3. The cost of true discipleship.
Pastor Josh continues the series by discussing how the centrality of the gospel of Jesus Christ never ends even after we are saved. He highlights its importance in living a stable and unshakable life in Christ. He focuses on three specific topics: 1. The Gospel of Christ Saves 2. The Gospel of Christ Sanctifies 3. The Gospel of Christ Equips.
Pastor Josh begins a new series emphasizing the need for students to have a firm foundation in Christ before times of trials, testing, and temptation arrive and can cause their faith to collapse. This week, he begins by explaining the parable of the sower, describing the 4 different types of hearts God’s word gets sown into, and highlighting the responsibility we all have to respond well when we hear the word. Lastly, he explains the differences between Christian lives that have foundations built on Jesus vs “Christian” lives that have no foundation built on Jesus.
Minister Isis Underwood shares with us the necessity of Longsuffering for Christian maturity. She explains how the term frequently gets limited to either patience or waiting for something, but she unpacks the details of the concept. Then, she explains the connection between: 1. the Christian's Longsuffering and their Faith 2. The Consequences of Lacking in Longsuffering and lastly, 3. Longsuffering and the Maturity/Fruit it Produces.
Pastor Josh teaches about the importance for Christians to understand the access to God’s presence that they have been offered through the sacrifice of Jesus. He highlights 3 topics: 1. Access to God’s Throne as the Hope of the Gospel 2. The Most Holy Place: From Behind the Curtain to Behind Closed Doors 3. How to Pray in God’s Presence.
Apostle Valarie and Minister Isis lead a teaching and discussion with students about the multi-facets of intercession. They discuss how intercession is effective for spiritual warfare, powerful for maintaining unity in the Church, and a way in which we partner with God. They also help students work through several unique personal inquiries concerning this topic of intercession.
OSU student India follows up Courtney's testimony from Part 1 by confirming how much Courtney's testimony influenced her to end her pursuit of becoming and AKA, as well as contributing to her friend being saved from that path as well. Her testimony may be most beneficial for other women or men who are considering crossing!
Courtney Moore, former AKA, publicly denounces from AKA and testifies about the idolatry of ALL Greek Life that many are unaware of. Courtney testifies about the ungodly compromises required for entrance, membership, sisterhood/brotherhood into Greek organizations (e.g., the Divine Nine especially so), and the consequences of joining these sororities and fraternities under false pretenses.
Pastor Josh provides a biblical foundation for both the need for and the power of godly community. In doing so, he also demonstrates ways that ungodly community can have power over us as well.
Pastor Josh teaches on four topics: 1. Pruning: Moving Forward by Cutting Back 2. Abiding in Christ and Bearing Fruit 3. The Love Behind the Lord’s Discipline 4. Fruitful Growth in God.
In this episode, Pastor Josh teaches how believers should live. Believers should be transformed and living lives that are obedient to Jesus. We should want to live holy because God is Holy! Having a fear of the Lord is necessary to be sober-minded and live the way God desires for us. We should in response to salvation, desire to please the Lord. We have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus which has purchased our salvation. As born-again believers there should be evidence that we are a new creation. We should be dependent on God and His Word. If we truly love Jesus we must obey Him! We have been transformed and can boldly proclaim the praises of God.
Pastor Josh preaches on the difference between compassion and compromise. He discusses how true love and compassion do not rejoice in sin but in TRUTH. Biblical love is not giving someone false assurance and promoting compromise– even if it is unpopular. Compassion comes from true doctrine. He explains that if your life contradicts the Bible, you are in compromise and that many people have “itching ears” today and do not endure sound doctrine. In these last days, many doctrines of demons say it’s okay to have the world and Jesus, but we cannot. Tolerating sin will lead to compromise, and ultimately judgment. The Holy Spirit’s conviction of compromise is an invitation to repentance and freedom!
In this episode, Pastor Josh helps to clarify what the biblical definition and process of repentance is. He identifies several ways that the concept of repentance has been tainted or ignored, and he desires to realign our view of repentance biblically. He preaches on 1. A Biblical Definition of Repentance 2. Biblical Examples of True Repentance 3. Consequences for False Repentance 4. What Prayers of True Repentance Sound Like.
Pastor Josh wraps up the semester long journey of understanding the various attributes of God by reminding us what understanding is all unto worshipping God in spirit and in truth. He discusses the difference between True seeking and False seeking of God’s face, and he introduces an acronym to better understand what it means to seek God’s face. F - Focus of worship, A - Aim of worship, C - Cause of worship, E - Effect of our worship.
Pastor Josh teaches on the Holy Spirit’s role as a Witness throughout Scripture. He primarily teaches about the Holy Spirit’s witness to the World of Sin, Righteousness, and Coming Judgment. Then, Pastor Josh begins to dive deeper into the Holy Spirit’s witness about the Second Coming of Jesus and how it serves as an anchor for the soul of believers, a final answer to the problem of evil, and a demonstration of Jesus’ justice and jealousy for His Bride.
Pastor Josh teaches about the Holy Spirit’s role as Baptizer through a non-traditional lens. Whereas many people know about the Holy Spirit’s role in producing power to be witnesses, and for the gift of tongues, Pastor Josh highlights the “Power for the Practical vs. The Power for Public Ministry” which demonstrates the power made available to spirit-filled believers to live faithful and fruitful lives in Christ. This includes power to persevere through trials and temptation, power to hold firm to one’s identity in Christ, power to submit to the Holy Spirit’s leadership, power for stability in unstable circumstances, and power for crucifying the flesh and its lusts (among several others).
Pastor Josh teaches about how vital it is to understand that Holy Spirit is personal in His nature in the sense of Holy Spirit having: 1. Emotions/Feelings, 2. A Mind/Will, 3. Desire for Relationship/Partnership, and 4. A Desire to Speak to Us. He aims to dismantle false and incomplete views of the Holy Spirit being an impersonal force, presence, feeling, voice, IT, or experience. He explains that this will ultimately bring us into TRUE INTIMACY with Holy Spirit.
Minister Naomi Chatman teaches and testifies about how Jesus is the “God of the Valley” and how to handle suffering well as a follower of Christ. Minister Naomi anchors her message in 5 Truths: 1. The Sovereignty of God 2. The Presence of God 3. The Love of God 4. The Immutability of God 5. The Goodness of God. These 5 truths are meant to serve as anchors for endurance as believers WILL go through suffering in this world.
Pastor Josh Underwood continues discussing the attributes of Jesus as he teaches about the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He teaches that Jesus is not only the Lord of our individual lives as believers, but He is Lord over heaven, earth, and hell. He teaches 1. Jesus is the Lord of the kingdom of God 2. The devil has power too because he rules the kingdom of darkness 3. Jesus came to destroy various works of the devil on the cross 4. Jesus publicly displayed himself as Lord over the kingdom of darkness through deliverance both publicly and privately.
Pastor Josh Underwood begins to teach on the attributes of Jesus, the Son of God. In this message, he covers concepts about Jesus being the only way to know God the Father and to have access to God's presence. Pastor Josh helps explain the Narrow Gate vs. the Broad Gate and ushers a gospel presentation so we can see what the narrow way to the Father is. He ends the sermon by discussing how the "Old way" of the tabernacle system was to point to Jesus as the New and Living way to access God.

How do we define God’s Jealous Love? 2. Why doesn’t God allow compromise in His covenant relationships? 3. How do worldly people and idolatrous things oppose God’s jealous love? 4. How can we break the yoke of compromise?

The Lord’s prayer reveals how we can relate to God as Father 2. There’s warfare against our identity as God’s children 3. Our Father has not left us as orphans 4. Examples of what a Holy Father’s love looks like.
