Having a meeting can be nerve racking and sometimes we just don't know what to say. Having a structure and specific plan allows you to keep your focus where it should be. On the prospect.

When we get nervous we often think of our situation. Are we going to get the sale? What can I do to close this?

Nate Jones, CPCU, ARM, CLCS, AU shares 3 Reasons why Sales Pipelines Dry Up.

  1. We get too focused on one account (usually a large one) and neglect our activity that got us the opportunity for that account. We get caught starring at the White Whale.

Solution: We need to quickly shift gears from working on our whale and continue our activity that gave us the opportunity.

  1. We stop adding new prospects to our pipeline. It is our job to find who needs help. Adding new prospects allows us to continue to find those potential clients.

Solution: Dedicate time every day to research and prospecting.

  1. We stop following up. We get complacent and take days off. We forget that following up is what got us our previous clients. When you quit, you miss opportunities.

Solution: Hold yourself accountable by creating tasks that have strict due dates.
