Personality type is not just a label—it’s a powerful tool for inner excavation that helps you align your life with who you really are and what matters most. Join Leslie McDaniel and guests to dig deep with two powerful personality type frameworks: the Enneagram and the 16 Types system (Jungian cognitive functions and Myers-Briggs® types) so that you can feel anchored in who you really are, live each day fully aware and present, and live with purpose and intention every day. With Myers-Briggs® type, we'll dig beyond extraversion or introversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving to understand the impact of your cognitive functions and brain wiring in everyday life and to see your natural strengths, blindspots, triggers, and flow state. With the Enneagram, you'll identify your unconscious motivation and automatic patterns to live more consciousness, purpose, intention, and authenticity. This show is for anyone who knows that life is finite and that you must make changes now to experience the fulfilling life of your dreams. Leslie is an Certified Professional Coach with the PCC credential, an Integrative Enneagram Accredited Practitioner, an Accredited Personality Hacker Profiler, a CP Enneagram Certified Professional Enneagram Coach, and MBTI® Certified Practitioner. Subscribe to take your type from a casual curiosity to a life-changing path for growth!
S11E3 - Following the waiting-room story in Episode 2, this episode continues the thread as I practice acceptance and non-attachment—naming what is and loosening my grip on outcomes. We’ll identify your attachment tells (jaw, shoulders, breath) and try simple ways to release them so you can rejoin the flow of what’s already unfolding.
S11E2 - This episode begins on a rainy Tuesday in a high-rise medical building where my reflex to plan and prewrite outcomes took over. I share how I noticed myself living in the future, how I anchored myself in the present, and what was lurking in the shadow underneath this pattern. If you tend to live in a reality that hasn't yet happened, this is an invitation to allow what's next to unfold in front of you.
S11E1 - A coffee-shop unraveling leads to loosening my grip on type—and why “Hello, Personality” is still a greeting to access your deeper self.
In this episode, I share the moment I said out loud, “I’m not sure my type is right,” and the slow untying that followed—weeks of walks, kitchen-table talks, and noticing how tightly I’d been managing my identity.
You’ll hear where I am now with personality systems, why I kept the name Hello, Personality, and how I’m shifting authority from external labels back to head–heart–body wisdom and embodied spirituality that meets you where you are.
If you’ve ever clung to a label, role, or reputation, this episode invites you to loosen the grip and listen for what’s true now.

S10E5 - This episode invites you to go beyond head-based intelligence to explore the untapped wisdom of your heart. You'll learn some heart-based approaches to awakening your deeper self as well as how to make sure you're coming from your heart space (and not your head). We'll go beyond simply identifying your emotions so that you can engage your heart as part of a holistic, integrated approach to waking up.
S10E4 - This episode is a journey into the realm of your thoughts and discovering specific practices to help you become more aware of—and work with—the thoughts that are moving you forward as well as the ones that are serving as blocks in your awakening process. These head-based practices will help you develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself by working with your inner thought processes and dialogue.
S10E3 - This episode invites you to pause and reflect on your journey of inner growth through powerful visualizations that reveal the multi-layered nature of your inner work. You'll have the opportunity to explore practical tools and insights as you consider how even small changes contribute to a vast, interconnected tapestry of transformation. Join me as I guide you to embrace every unfolding layer, deepening your awareness and bringing you closer to your deeper self.
S10E2 - In this episode, you're invited to begin transforming your relationship with yourself by exploring three crucial aspects of self-awareness: your head, heart, and body. You'll hear ideas about how to observe your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations with neutrality. I'll also share personal turning points and practices that helped me shift from self-judgment to curiosity to build a stronger foundation for a deeper transformation. This episode will guide you to pay attention to the subtle signals from your inner world so that you can start building a richer, more balanced relationship with yourself.
S10E1 - This first episode of the new season is your invitation to step beyond the familiar territory of personality typology and into a deeper exploration of your truest self.
I'll share the evolution of the "Hello, Personality" journey—from exploring Jungian functions and the Enneagram to embracing a holistic, embodied approach that honors the head, heart, and body.
If you've experienced disillusionment with systems, frameworks, or labels, this may be your call to a deeper awakening. If this is you, this season is an invitation to nurture every aspect of who you are with a multi-faceted perspective.
What's coming in Season 10? Check out this short trailer to hear what's coming as we heed the call to a deeper kind of transformation that goes beyond personality typology or any other label or identity you're currently using to describe yourself. This season will take a holistic approach by integrating many different modalities to see what needs to be healed, released, or expressed to awaken a deeper self.
S9E6 - In this final episode of our wintering mini-season, we'll weave together all the insights gained from this season and our guests Dani, Jennifer, and Rhonda. We'll take a look at how “forced,” “collective,” and “conscious” slowdowns can deepen our self-awareness and bring us closer to our most authentic selves. You’ll also learn practical ways to carry winter’s quiet wisdom into spring (or any season), nurture a more intentional pace, and keep discovering who you are beneath the busyness. Check out this episode for a reminder that wintering can guide us whenever life feels too loud.
S9E5 - What if you let the sunlight and the natural rhythm of a winter day, rather than society, set your pace? In this episode, we'll explore the idea of conscious wintering—intentionally slowing down to match nature’s seasonal rhythms. You’ll hear Rhonda’s inspiring story of consciously embracing shorter days while unlearning decades of hurry. If you’re curious about small steps you can take to align your life with the season you’re in—wherever you live—this conversation is for you.
S9E4 - What happens when the entire world pauses at once—and how can we keep that sense of stillness alive long after things have picked back up? In this episode, we explore “collective wintering” and the unexpected slowdown many experienced at the start of the pandemic. You’ll hear Jennifer’s story of finding solace, simplicity, and a renewed focus on “being” over “doing.” If you’ve ever longed for a touch of that slower pace (even now), this conversation is for you. Join us as we uncover how embracing a gentler rhythm can help us reconnect with what matters most—even after life returns to its usual speed.
S9E3 - What happens when circumstances demand that we hit the brakes? In this episode, we explore how "forced wintering"—those moments we have no choice but to slow down—can spark new clarity, creativity, and self-advocacy. You’ll hear Dani’s powerful story of medical challenges that led her to rediscover forgotten passions, along with a personal anecdote of my own that highlights why life’s abrupt pauses sometimes reveal what truly matters.
S9E2 - Why is it so tough to pause when everything around us screams, "Let's have your best yet"? In this episode, I uncover the cultural and personal barriers that can make rest feel almost impossible—especially at the start of a new year. I talk about my own push-pull relationship with rest and productivity, my experiment to push back, and the guilt that still creeps in when I feel like I'm not doing “enough.”
Together, we’ll explore why slowing down isn’t just a nice idea—it's actually the key to living more consciously. You’ll also hear about an alternative to creating a vision board and how it can shift your focus from big goals to how you live each day.
If you’ve ever felt uneasy about taking a break or found it challenging to set boundaries, this episode is for you. Let’s discover how wintering helps us reconnect with who we really are.
S9E1 - Join me this season in the exploration of the Art of Wintering to flow with the natural rhythms of the winter season as we slow down, breathe, and reflect. In this first episode, I share the story of how I realized I needed to embrace a season of wintering in my life, and why stepping back can actually help us uncover our deepest desires and truest selves. Throughout this season, we’ll talk about how to let the ground of our lives lie fallow just long enough to spark renewed creativity, clarity, and meaning. We'll also hear from listeners about their seasons of intentional or forced wintering. Let’s slow down, rest, and wake up to what really matters.
Season 9 Trailer - I invite you to explore the concept of "wintering" with me on this next season of The Hello, Personality Podcast. Here's a short preview of what to expect this season—including a few things that will be different to honor the spirit of wintering.

These external areas deeply affect your overall well-being and alignment with what matters most to you. I’ll guide you through reflective questions and practical insights to assess your external world, and how these elements are intertwined with your inner world. Let’s take this next step together.
S8E5 - In this episode, we’re beginning a two-part Life Audit to help you take a closer look at the areas of your life that matter most. We start by focusing inward to explore four areas: the many facets of your well-being, personal growth and learning, spirituality and inner connection, and your sense of purpose and contribution.
I’ll guide you through reflective questions to help you assess where you are and where you might want to go next. This is an opportunity to pause, get curious, and realign with what truly matters to you.
