We are a congregation of believers committed to sharing the message of Christ and guiding others towards faith in Him. As a church, we aim to love those in our community with the same love Christ has given to us.It doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve done or how you dress. You’re welcome at Venture. We don’t expect you to “clean yourself up” or get your life together before you come to church. Just come as you are. God will do the rest.

The bottom line is this. We invest our time, talent, and money in what we feel gives us the greatest experience of glory! When you look at your calendar, the use of your abilities, and where you invest your money, you will see where and how you believe glory is experienced.

What part of the gear are you not using?
The battle is already raging. The question isn't whether you'll win (stay standing) because you put on your gear and engaged the fight with His strength and armor, or lose because you thought you could do it some other way than the only way God is telling you that you can.
Others need to understand that until you surrender your life to Christ, there isn't a battle to win—you've already lost. Apart from Christ, no victory is attainable. The only way to stand, fight, and overcome is to be found in Him.

Gritty faith is flawed faith that nonetheless keeps pressing forward! Hannah’s faith is not a great example of faith, but her refusal to stop seeking the Lord is! More importantly, God’s blessing to let Hannah be known as Samuel’s mother, despite her weak faith, should remind us that God’s salvation and blessings are not to the praise of our faith but to the glory of His grace!

There is fulfillment in accomplishments, in performing something well. However, the fulfillment of successfully performing the works of this world is Kleeting at best, and possibly still, at worst, demoralizing and destructive. But when we are performing the works of this world while also walking in step with the Spirit and seeing Him live through us, seeing our lives pouring out HIS LIFE in others, we experience a sense of fulfillment like no other! If you claim to have faith in Christ but nobody is being affected by it, then you need to know you have faith, but it’s not in Jesus! Some will see the fruit of your faith and be disgusted by it, others will care less about it, some will be intrigued by it, others will be motivated to know and follow Jesus by it; but make no mistake, if you have it, it will necessarily affect those around you!

Great causes require great unity to be successful, and great unity requires great sacrifice to achieve it. At the end of your life, what’s the cause you will have sacrificed your life to be unified with, and will it matter 100 million years from now in eternity? We should feel some shame about our sin. Its sin! Its rebellion against a loving God who sent His Son to die for us; its choosing death when life has been given to us at such a high price! HOWEVER, the knowledge of the Gospel then removes that shame because it assures us that Christ died because we are sinners so that He could save us from sin, not condemn us to be stuck in it because we proved we needed Him!
So, when we get convicted by the Holy Spirit about our sin, shame is a natural and honestly right feeling for the moment, but only as long it takes to quickly turn back to The One standing there with open arms waiting for us to walk with HIM!

If in that effort you end up flat on your face, remember His grace; remember He has called you and will never forsake you; remember your prize is still there; and get up and start running towards Him again!

You are doing yourself no favors by rebelling from God, especially in your actions towards others; but you are really doing yourself no favors if you believe God’s not noticing! When it comes to our relationship with the Lord, we are supposed to obey Him for the same reason a child is supposed to obey his parents, He’s in charge!

A husband is the head of his household as Christ is the head of the church, but as such, Christ “submitted” Himself to the needs of the church in that He gave Himself for the church, not the other way around. “Submissive leadership” is “Servant Leadership.”

Speaker | Josh SuggWe see in 1 Peter what it means to get punched in the mouth, what it means to suffer. But Peter is going to hone in on one specific type of suffering: Unjust suffering. This is suffering we don’t deserve. Suffering that we have to endure even though we didn’t do anything wrong. Even more specifically, this is suffering at the hands of someone who is causing you harm without any cause. This is getting punched in the mouth, when you weren’t even in the fight.

People may not realize they are even looking towards Christ when they see you, but if you are living out your God ordained calling as a child of God then people are going to see something in you that looks totally different than what they see in this world. They are going to see something that will either soften their hearts and cause them to want to know more about the God you love, or it will harden their hearts and cause them to turn away from you, or at least keep you at arm’s length.

We cannot claim to use the Biblical language of church as a household when we do not actually spend time in household with other believers. At most we can say that we are occasional practitioners who have an appreciation from the church. But if we live as occasional practitioners of faith, how can we ever expect to excel in faith?

Most people understand that excellence in almost any area of life is a function of the state of our minds when we engage in the activities. Coaches preach this in athletics. Teachers exhort this in academics. Bosses encourage this on the job. The quality of familial relationships often rises and falls based on the mental presence of the family members.
We should not be surprised that the Christian life requires a discipline and presence on our minds

Peter begins the body of his letter by ecstatically praising God. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” He then takes the remainder of three verses to tell us why God is deserving of praise.
Jason’s sermon demonstrates how each of these reasons for praising God leads to the next reason. God in his wisdom gave us his mercy, which leads to our complete and total salvation. We will spend the rest of eternity not merely giving glory to God for his mercy, but continually comprehending more of the wonder of our salvation than we can possibly even know at this moment.

There clearest message in Daniel 9 is Daniel’s prayer of repentance and the fact that God responded in love. As Christians, we should never lose the wonder that God would desire to be in relationship to us and respond with love and forgiveness to our brokenness.

As we progress in the latter half of the book of Daniel we should remember that we are in a genre known as apocalyptic literature. One of the great characteristics of apocalyptic literature is its heavy use of symbolism in speaking about real-world events. Because of the heavy use of symbols, sometimes the reference of the symbols is a bit unclear to the readers, as much as it may have been unclear to the original recipients of the visions.

The lack of boundaries and clarity between public and private is what lands Daniel into hot water in a way that we today find difficult to understand. But Daniel does give us clarity as to what it means to live by conviction and to give our utmost allegiance to God regardless of personal cost.

As parents you have authority over you children, this authority is a delegated authority to you by God. In this sermon we learn what it looks like to use authority in the right ways over our children, to point them to the ultimate authority of their lives, God. The purpose of authority is not to hold them under your power but rather empower them to be self-controlled people living freely under the authority of God.
