We had the pleasure of being joined by Joe Gann on today's episode Joe is a fellow online coach who moved to Manny from Brighton by himself, with the sole purpose of being by himself and building his coaching and bodybuilding career Unfortunately, he met us and is one of our close mates. He has just finished his first competitive season having competed, winning an overall and taking 2nd Place at the Empro Classic in Alicante - all ahead of his first scheduled competition. Today we discussed a recurring question on building an online coaching business, general client management and also his competitive experience and future plans.

WE ARE BACK

Very long overdue return to the podcast for us both. There's been a lot going on for each of us which we will bring you all up to speed with in this higher production quality format, which we will continue to upgrade over the coming weeks.

Today we went through some more intricacies of prep, competing and comparing yourself on social media. We did have some tech issues and only captured 22mins of the 50 we spoke for, but that gives us more to talk about next time Please like and subscribe - Your support is always appreciated!

Welcome our very esteemed guest, Dr. Scott Stevenson

We've had the pleasure of being joined by Scott today to help us learn the unavoidable reality of genetic limitations and how to interpret research in a way that can serve us. As always, there are a few tangential conversations that we delve into and was a pleasure to be a part of!

I highly recommend anyone to purchase Scotts book as I had done years ago.

Joined by Mr Zac Fotheringham, we discussed getting the most from your clients. Though this is from a coaches perspective - this is something for clients and aspiring athletes to understand. The psychology and importance of communicating through the inevitably tough times. Understanding the level of flexibility comes down to your ownership and calculated risk of each decision you make. Very insightful stuff from an incredible athlete and coach. Thanks for coming on Zac! Find him here : https://www.instagram.com/zac_teamprocoach/?hl=en @Zac_teamprocoach on IG

Today we had the pleasure of being joined by miss Chloe Pickford, aka CPT Fitness. Chloe is an incredible athlete and coach in her own right having won PCA British Championships back in 2018 and since then devoted an incredibly productive improvement phase to make significant improvements to her physique and being a stand-out British Wellness competitor, currently 7 Weeks out from her first show of the season. We discussed the positive impact that taking such time away from competing has effected the differences of her previous preps compared to this as well as scaling her own coaching business in the meantime. A thoroughly enjoyable chat, be sure to follow her IG (@CPT_Fitness) for context and to keep up to date with her incredible journey,

An incredibly important topic, and such, worth introducing our first esteemed guest on the Podcast, Mr. Paul Standell.

Paul is a wealth of resources across all areas of personal training and online coaching but a profound breath of fresh air as it pertains to eating behaviours and psychology in the turbulence of emotion that ensues after a competition or photoshoot prep.

He has written an incredible ebook on this topic which I urge many to go purchase via the link in his instagram bio (https://www.instagram.com/paul_standell/)

We discussed the (flawed) thought processes that lend themselves to these behaviours and by understanding which, we have a better opportunity to deal with them.

As always, we do our best to relay this back to practical behaviours and actions we can put into place to give you a viable roadmap through these times. Not to say it will be without struggle, but inarguably a better solution than sustained eating pathologies and food-related disorders.

The competitive season is underway and many are either on prep, starting or considering it; so we've decided to cover this topic to give insight into the underlying thought processes behind if it's suitable to do so, when and other important considerations which are often over-looked when people jump into a an extensive dieting phase. We've also covered the infamous 'peak week' as well as some anecdote from both of us as coaches and competitors perspectives. As always, we hope you enjoy!

We're back ! Today, Alex and I gave a bit of an insight into our overview of training from both athlete, online and personal-training perspective. What are the things we need to consider and when do we start losing ourselves in the weeds or when it adds value to provide a higher level of detail with training from a physique development standpoint. As our ethos with this podcast, we kept this pretty easy to follow and run through any terminology used to keep you all on board, enjoy!

In this episode, Alex and I discussed nutrition from the more practical perspective. We strongly feel that long-term adherence is the crux of progress, or lack thereof. So we need to be able to set-up our diet and include social occasions and particular foods without any guilt. We've discussed our personal approach and also what we do as coaches to facilitate this.

The Grand Opening - This episode really sets the tone for what we are trying to deliver here from this podcast. Useful information brought to you in a casual and realistic conversation. This went intuitively, but unsurprisingly brought us down the route of psychology and mindset - which highlights it's importance in not just physique development, but your life in general. We really hope you found this episode useful and we look forward to any feedback or suggestions you have! Reach out to us on Instagram @daragh_allen and @therealmrfreshwater
