KARL IS BACK!! 

And we're getting real today.  Karl is calming my boisterous energies and rampant doubts.   I've been in business and building a digital portfolio ready to show the world for a grand total of six months and somehow I believe I deserve some kind of recognition for it.  

The time has come to GET REAL and to overcome to destructive powers of social media.  However helpful they claim to be., your soul is often held hostage.

Part 2 - Are the social media accounts of others anything to go by?  Do they provide an accurate window in to the circumstances of others and...does it even matter???  Therefore, how long are you willing to spend on becoming a master of not only your chosen skill in life but to become a master of yourself?  

Part 3 - Get things made for you.  Although I talk higher-end and getting in touch with very skilled craftsmen, there is an entire world of small workshops, ateliers and artisans out there desperate to hear from you and create for you something you will cherish forever.  It won't be "perfect" like something that has been run off a production line.  Perfection is always found in the imperfections.  That is what makes something truly handmade.

@SuperDacob (again) but his irreverent take on "luxury" is very captivating. Thems that make the real thing also make the fakes and now there's competition to see who can get the best fakes. I'm probably just riling everybody up here but who knows? There's a market out there for everyone.

Plus with the new ethics laws that the EU has imposed upon the garment manufacturing industry that I talked about in the last episode.

Today I'm podcasting alone, Karl is away doing his work at the cemetery and I've got him in the workshop afterwards helping me out with some client work so today it's just me. Stuttering away trying not to tie myself in to knots with the words tumbling around in my mind.

So I'm coming to you today with a new format.

My thing will always be that it is never the person or customers fault who chooses to buy luxury or who are sucked in to that industry. It is not their fault. My problem is with BIG fashion and I'm here to help you find solutions so that you can better buying choices that you can be proud of for much longer and hopefully pass these items down to your loved ones without brainwashing them with the "the badge"

We all know that BIG Fashion has a lot of power.   It's because they make so much money.  But just how exactly are they doing it so well??

It's because the money doesn't go in to the product.  It goes in to getting as many of you to buy it as they can.   There are no exceptions.   There are no ethics in big business.   Should we as consumers care more about who or where these overpriced items are made?

Today Karl and I discuss creating content and whether or not being critical of BIG fashion is justified.  If seeing yourself on camera can make people feel awkward and getting confused between left and right. 

We also discuss balancing creativity with profitability of big fashion businesses, the "social uniform" and how we can help make better buying choices in the future in regard to leather handbags and accessories.
