The boys are back in the studio to talk about Puss in Boots : The Last Wish, the second Shrek spin-off that has deep themes hidden within its fairytale zaniness. They also have conversations around the 2023 Academy Awards nominations and make early predictions based on what they have seen. They also gush about Michael Man's 2004 classic thriller starring the last superstar of Hollywood Tom Cruise and disciplined bad man Jamie Foxx.

Olisa ( Seun couldn’t join as he was on set) catches up with his friend @tolufoyeh who is the Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer at @kugalimedia - an entertainment company focused on telling stories inspired by African culture .
The pair talk about kugali’s entry into the animated space through their collaboration with Walt Disney Animated Studio for their first “original long-form animated series” Iwájú . The show is set in a futuristic Lagos , Nigeria and will explore deep themes of class , innocence and challenging the status quo. It is set to premier on Disney+ in 2023.
Olisa calls on his little sister Adaiba to deputize for Seun, who is working on set. The siblings have a spoiler-filled discussion about comedian turned writer, director, and producer Jordan Peele's latest Sci-fi horror Nope, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer. The pair talk about the film's deep themes and where it stands in his growing filmography, including the seminal classic Get Out.

Both believe its a solid but unspectacular movie and debate about the direction the MCU is going in and whether we are heading for a burnout (we are). The pair also lament about Play Network's studios latest soft reboot of Nollywood classic Glamour Girls and its lack of effort, cohesion and well .... a storyline. Olisa and Seun are back again after their personal lives got in the way of their camaraderie over films. The lads lament about the mediocrity of Dr. Strange and their general Marvel fatigue, they gush about the raw and visceral experience of Robert Eggers' 'The Northman' and also share different takes on 'Everything , Everywhere, All at Once' a movie Olisa deems to be one of the best he has seen this year and one Seun believes is over hyped.
Olisa and Seun are back after the Easter holidays to talk about the movies they saw over the holiday season. Olisa talks about the sequel to the 2020 surprise video game film hit Sonic the Hedgehog and talks about how much he enjoyed its sequel, ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ with its love for the source material, non-intrusive easter eggs, solid and respectful additions and depictions of classic characters despite its less focused narrative. The pair also talk about new Netflix Original, ‘Man of God’ directed by Nigerian theatre lynchpin Bolanle Austen-Peters and are ultimately disappointed by the badly written script, odd editing and weak execution which hides a story with a lot of potential and a decent cast. Olisa's curiosity about cult favourite film, ‘Weekend at Bernie's’ makes him choose this flick as the week's classic. While the movie has a solid gag and premise the lads realize that even during its heyday this is a somewhat forgettable comedy with bland character archetypes and one that takes too long to set up its premise which admittedly holds the key to a good 25 minutes of solid gags.

This week the trio talk about Joel Coen’s recent adaptation of Macbeth aptly titled the ‘Tragedy of Macbeth’. Olisa and TMT were in awe of the films cast, praising them for their amazing performances whilst Seun appreciates the film but felt a huge disconnect. The boys also debate and share different views of the ambitious Nollywood anthology movie, ‘Juju Stories’. Olisa and Seun talk about Lana Wachoski's Matrix Resurrections, the 4th film in the legendary Matrix series that revolutionised cinema. Olisa deems it an unnecessary sequel and one that severely damages the Wachoski's legacy for a myriad of reasons, whilst Seun had a "great time at the cinema". The lads also talk about Mathieu Kassovitz French classic 'La Haine', a film that follows the lives of three friends from a poor immigrant neighbourhood in the suburbs of Paris after a series of riots occur. Both appreciate the movie's striking cinematography and style and its hard hitting story which is still relevant today.
Olisa and Seun are back after lengthy hiatus (and 2 failed attempts to record episodes). The lads reflect on the MCU efforts last year and talk about Spider-Man: No Way Home, a movie filled with fan service and great emotional moments. They also talk about the universally panned Chief Daddy 2 and try to figure out why the movie has unified Nigerians in agreeing with its mediocrity. They also talk about the Netflix’s star studded satire, Don’t Look up and it’s poignant message.
14: Dune Swallows The Thing
We return to the studio for the first time in three months to talk about Dennis Villeneuve's #adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 novel #Dune, which many consider to be a #masterpiece amongst the myriad of space opera's and fantasy novels it inspired. Seun describes the film as a modern day masterpiece with amazing visuals, cinematography and performances whilst Olisa thinks it’s a refreshing film with some shortcomings that has ultimately piqued his interest in Frank Herbert's universe. We also talk about #KunleAfolayan's latest offering on Netflix in the guise of #Swallow, an adaptation of Seffi Atta's book which follows the trials and #tribulations of a young woma , Tolani played by music artist Niyola, trying to survive in a 1980s Lagos without succumbing to the allure of the financial benefits of drug trafficking. We express our disappointment in the film’s reluctance to face the subject matter despite its solid cast and great cinematography. Finally we rave about about John Carpenter's 1982 cult classic, The Thing, a movie which Olisa deems to be the scariest movie he has ever watched with Seun calling it a no nonsense horror schock that is expertly paced, tense as hell and a film everybody should at least watch once in their lifetime.

We reminisce about Daniel Craig's 15-year tenure as the British super-spy, talk about the impact he has left on his long-running franchise and rank him amongst the actors that have portrayed MI6's suave and dapper bad boy. We also review Craig's last outing as Bond in No Time to Die, speculate where the franchise goes from here and have a measured debate about who they would like to see as Daniel Craig's successor.

On this episode we talk about the Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest offering Shang Chi, which we both believe to be average despite the critical acclaim it's received. We lament about the remake of the 1994 Nollywood classic , 'Nneka the Pretty Serprent', a movie bogged down by terrible direction, slow and stilted dialogue , pacing and a questionable lead whose lack of experience is evident. Finally, we discuss the 2000 cult classic 'Battle Royale', a movie that one of us believes is a cultural touchstone in today's media while the other hand thinks its "alright" but respects its impact. We found a way to record from different parts of the world for our landmark 10th episode. We talk about James Gunn's 'The Suicide Squad' and how it's a massive improvement of the 2016 rendition, Olisa explains why '76' is one of his favourite Nollywood movies of all time while Seun (much too Olisa's surprise) has very different opinion and we also gush over the no nonsense British classic, 'Where Eagles Dare' in which Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood play WW2 spies that lead a paratroop team to storm a castle in the German Alps in order to save a US Army General.

On this episode we do a Hollywood double bill and lament about Black Widow’s failings which is compounded by the fact it’s a movie that came 5 years too late. We were also pleasantly surprised by the Lebron James led sequel to Space Jam. On the Nollywood front, Seun is dissapointed (surprise surprise) by Ramsey Noah’s sophomore effort as a director in his ambitiously flat remake of Rattlesnake and the boys have a debate over the famous Rat Pack film, Oceans Eleven.
Sorry we haven't recorded in a lil over 3 weeks boys and girls, we're back this week to talk about the latest horror blockbuster of 2021, A Quiet Place 2, we (again) trash the Nollywood film of the week and we get super nostalgic talking about one of the classic horror films of all time, Wes Craven's 'Scream'.

Feels like we haven't recorded in a while but we were so happy to get back on the mics and talk about movies again. Olisa got very offended by Mortal Kombat's "aggressive mediocrity", we both walked out of the cinema before the ending of Prophetess because it was that bad, like really really bad & we rave about Edgar Wright's cult classic, 'Scott Pilgrm vs. the World'. We're really happy to have our first ever guest on the pod, Director of Ojukokoro (Greed) and Knock Out Blessing, Dare Olaitan. We talk about how he got started as a filmmaker, what it's like making films in Nigeria, the business of Nollywood and his plans for the future.
For the first time since we started recording we thoroughly enjoyed all three films on the show. Godzilla vs King Kong does exactly what it's meant to do, Seun thinks Three Thieves is the best Nollywood film he's seen and we both think Robert Downey Jr's best ever performance is in Tropic Thunder.
This episode we answered loads of film related questions sent in from our listeners and quite frankly you guys gave us shit to talk about because we honestly didn't have a whole lot to say regarding these two films. We were meant to talk about Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai also but unfortunately we didn't because...reasons, listen to the pod to find out why.
In this episode we both take a huge shit on Eddie Murphy's recent abomination of a film, Namaste Wahala isn't as bad as everyone says it is according to Seun even though Olisa disagrees wholeheartedly and we both think The Matrix might be the coolest science fiction film ever made.
