In this week’s episode, Sophie and Maeve talk about poetry and its unique ability to portray humanity. They discuss poetry’s prevalence in many spaces, including but not limited to: education, music, theatre, and of course, activism! This week Rylie sits down with Kathuure, a member of Cabaret for Change, and discusses how the intention of an author and interpretation of a reader is both complex and beautiful.

Sophie and Maeve share their personal academic history as a theatre kid, while also sharing struggles they experience as an arts and smart kid. Later on, Riley Sudduth interviews high school teacher, Ms. Boss, on the importance of arts education in schools.

From comparing full shows to their Jr. counterpart, it is clear there is no one way to adapt art for an appropriate audience. “Why do we censor?” and “How far is too far?” are important questions for any generation. Later, we are back with Riley Sudduth, where she talks to Emma Becker, a theatre professional and director, on what it is like growing with censored and uncensored theatre.
