it wasn’t finished in one day - it took time and then God helped me to realize my need for rest. My body craved it. I got the room done and I also glad I am now able to walk through a room full of stuff and know with time … I’ll get it done.

I could sleep in the hospital. Then when my daughter was in I slept again until I realized I didn’t sleep as well. Still, it was a place where we knew we were taken care of and that is what mattered.

These last few weeks I have never felt better.  You have no idea how hard it is for me to write those 5 words. ‘I have never felt better.’ And with that came fear that the enemy was so thrilled to place on me. No more.

It was almost Christmas and I was not totally feeling it. So then I spoke up and felt awkward but later I owned it and didn't feel so horrible. What is so wrong with believing in your values? It is not so dramatic.

When I get anxious I have to go to God and be totally real with Him. Telling him my ridiculous fears and worries. And asking Him to set me on the right path. He revealed some things to me as I read this verse and openly expressed my concerns.

A few weeks ago, I sent my girlfriends a video of an Amazon commercial of older women sledding down a hill. It is a tearjerker of a commercial to me. So much, I told my friends, we had to recreate it. I think for myself, I wanted to see if I would actually go sledding.

So … as I think about these events I find it Interesting. You see, when we journal and consider our life circumstances we just may discover why we are the way we are and what we can do about it to help ourselves… and those we love.

I wrote this a few days ago. As I was sitting in bed. I had written one post. It was too ... yuck. Too heavy. Maybe it wasn't that bad. It was too much reality. Which, I guess is what I am here to write about. I just ended this one with my final words so you know. But please share and subscribe. Thank you!

I am tired of over-thinking. I know I already said that but it needs to be said again. I think that is one thing us single parents probably do tons of. Wondering if we are handling this single parent life correctly. We have to stop thinking too much.

I got to thinking about our travels and how we have navigated this for so many years. I try to speak to everyone. Sometimes that’s just not possible. Sometimes you have to determine your audience. Who is it you want to reach?I thought maybe my travels and sports lifestyle would be monotonous to my viewers and readers. But it’s what I know.

Entering a new season of new events and I want to be happy and trust God throughout all of this.

I am thinking stuff that can only take away the enjoyment I should be feeling right now,

so we turn to God for some serious prayer and guidance.

This is about taking walks and literally changing the thought patterns and knowing it does not happen over night so give yourself some grace. But also keep working on it and changing the narrative in your mind.

I am home today and praying relentlessly about where to go in my life to bring in extra income. The only problem with this is when I do something, it has to have meaning. I can't just do something without a purpose attached to it and personally, I've been through so much I know there is a message I need to get out there for others to realize they are fully capable and worthy of this life.

You just got good news and you want to share it. Who is your first go to when something great happens?

I wanted to share the news of my youngest daughter accepting a position on another volleyball team and I wanted to share it with her dad.

He's not here but this is being authentic.

And it's also about these opportunities that are given to us and how we should handle them.

I think the tryout season is one of the hardest; probably more so for the parents than our kids. But, what’s most important is even in sports you can pray to God for direction. And as hard as it is wait and be patient it's part of what we must do. We trust God will guide us now and later. And …. You gotta put in the work too and perhaps push your athlete if you feel it’s the right thing. Not forcing but encouraging.

I have to be honest about wanting to mow my yard instead of going out.

I have to be honest with deciding that being single is fine and enjoying my alone time is okay. To not feel the pressure of settling down. I place that pressure on myself. Only because the older I get I feel if I don't then it'll be too late.

But it is not. When God says it is time, it will be time.

In the meantime .... it is popcorn in bed after I mow the yard. With music blasting in my ears.

When it is your time, you will know. Perhaps we can all help one another to accept who we are and what we enjoy instead of feeling like age matters and getting older means you must find a partner.

Content - Part 2!

Taking my daughter to airport I am evaluating exactly who I am. And the fact I am doing this. There is no way my mom would’ve done this for me but she lived in a different time.

Still, I learned and continue to learn what type of mom I am. Part authoritative I’ve been told - though I question this and other part? Who the heck knows. I’m just doing the best I can and giving our advice and love and guidance to my girls.

It is Sunday, April 23 and we were at the fields all weekend. I was discouraged toward end of week. I had to have a heart to heart talk with my daughter about girl stuff and it brought us to talking about money. It made me realize how important it is I believe in what I am capable of to help her and her sisters. And how my past experiences can help you from getting to this same conversation with your son or daughter. It’s not just about the money that needs to keep a couple together but face it - some marital problems can be fixed to keep you and he from separating and causing undue financial trauma on yourself. Love and forgiveness can conquer all and God wants us to enjoy life in many ways. Especially for our children.

So we’re at the ballpark and this mom starts cussing loudly about a game. Okay it’s not too unusual but it made me realize how much we say can really affect our relationship with our kids and hurt them too. Especially when they are just trying to play their game. Listen, kids already have enough on their mind without us projecting our [harsh] thoughts vocally.

As we scrolled through some photos tonight we came across an old video of the girls dad we hadn’t seen. He was playing ball with them and it was just emotional to see. Afterwards, I had to refrain from feeling the typical frustration and regret and instead work on the hear and now. How do we do this? How do you help yourself get to the hear and now and stop living in the past regrets?

I don’t know what my mom was looking for in life, or if she even thought to look. And unfortunately she didn’t know the signs of abuse when it happened. We need to think about what we want instead of just hoping something just comes along and makes us happy. What Values, traits, personality, views, interests … do we want from a partner.

If you need someone to talk to - Text 988; Call 1-800-273-8255. Call your church. Call a friend. Call a family member.  Call someone you can trust. And if you are the friend or family member who is being called - and when you do hear someone struggle please call the parents or their family to let them know. No matter the circumstances. Just speak up.

Quick - 5 min thoughts. Crummy stuff is going to happen but how we respond makes the difference. Stop the dread. Give it to God is not as cliche as it seems. (I’m talking to myself here)

I will talk about one child leaving for college and having two at home. I'll touch on depression and what we can do about it. Disclaimer - I am not diagnosing, but I cannot be the only parent who has a child at home who is going through stuff, nor am I the only parent who is going through the anxiety and depression herself. I only know what I experience and how I am trying to handle it. Leaning on God ... always.

Today we are going to visit about our mental and physical self and what happens when we ignore those cues our body is screaming out to us - or maybe whispering. I remember someone once telling me that if I don’t take time to rest, my body will force me to rest.

The same can be true of how God leads us. When we don’t take time to listen to what He has to say and his direction - I believe He has a way of getting our attention and forcing us to slow down, stop and listen. I don’t know how kidney stones play into Gods direction for me, but since I am a sucker for believing everything has meaning …. Apparently stones have meaning for me!

Here is a story of the past couple weeks and this journey God has had me on. And it is not done.  We received some difficult news about our dog the other day.  I'll get to that next week.

Listen in.

A couple audios ago I was talking about the kind of person I was when I was going through my divorce and how nobody wanted to come near me. I mentioned how I was not exactly the best person to be around.

My mouth got the best of me.

I was going to address that but apparently God wants me to talk on something else so, I am going to chat about something that happened a week ago and see if I can tie it into the past of who I was. I think I can do that.

This will be about how my voice was not used for good and how God has worked in my life to help me change that.

Social media is a make you or break you platform. We really can use it to reach people like never before. And when we do, we must take careful consideration to how we are using it. God has given us a voice. We can use it for good and touch many lives in a positive way. If we use it for all the wrong reasons it can be detrimental not just to others but ourselves.
