https://www.PopcornandPolitics.com Dr. John Eaves is the former Chairman of Fulton County, the largest county in Georgia. He is the only candidate in the race with a proven record of increasing voter access, including creating Soul to the Polls and expanding early voting and the number of precincts in Fulton County.
He also oversaw the greatest economic growth and job creation in Fulton’s history by supporting Black and women-owned business, spearheaded the public-private partnership to restore Grady Memorial Hospital, worked with Rev. Raphael Warnock to expunge the records of 1,000 innocent Georgians to get jobs.
Dr. Eaves attended Morehouse College, has a Master’s from Yale, a Ph.D. from the Univ. of South Carolina, and is a two-time Fulbright Scholar. He is a small business owner and an esteemed professor at Spelman College. He lives in Atlanta and has two children, who attend Duke University and North Carolina A&T University.
Dr. Eaves is running for Secretary of State because we need a strong, experienced leader to protect our vote.
If elected, he will fight to expand access to the ballot box, particularly for underserved communities, and protect people of color and young people from being purged from voter rolls. He will also stimulate the economy by awarding state contracts to minority, women, and veteran owned businesses.
If elected, he will be the first Black Secretary of State elected in the South.
www.PopcornandPolitics.com Tracie Cason is a Superior Court Judge for Gwinnett County, having been elected in May of 2018. Tracie graduated Cum Laude with honors from the University of Georgia in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, during which she interned in the homicide unit of the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. She attended and received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Baylor University School of Law in 1997. Before joining the bench, Tracie was a career prosecutor. She began her legal career in the Dublin Judicial Circuit in 1997 before coming to the Gwinnett District Attorney's Office in 2000. While working in the Dublin Circuit, Tracie was instrumental in establishing the Victim Assistance Program for the circuit, as well as the Domestic Violence Task Force and the Sexual Assault Response Team. She was also one of the founding members of The Stepping Stone Child Advocacy Center.
While in the Gwinnett District Attorney’s Office, Tracie worked in various courtrooms and divisions, including several years on the Child Protection Team, which was responsible for prosecuting all child molestation and cruelty cases. After being promoted to Deputy Chief, she supervised trial divisions, the Special Victims Unit (which she helped re-establish), the Appellate Division, and the Accountability Courts for Gwinnett County. She also helped create the Pre-trial Intervention and Diversion Program. She has served as the chairperson of the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit Child Abuse Protocol Committee and as the Chairperson of the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit Sexual Assault Protocol Committee.
As the focus of her career has been the protection of children and victims of sexual assault, Tracie is also actively involved in promoting the prevention of and improving responses to sexual assaults and abuse. She was invited to be a member of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council’s State Expert Committee for Sexual Assault Response Teams. As a member of that Committee, she was critical in developing state-wide training for the creation and implementation of Sexual Assault Response Teams. She currently sits on the Advisory Council for that Committee.
Tracie was also a frequent instructor for the Gwinnett County Police Department Police Academy and Training Center and for the Gwinnett Sexual Assault Center. She has presented programs on Mandated Reporting for Georgia Gwinnett College, programs on Internet Crimes Against Children to various PTA’s, and also presented to the Gwinnett County Public Schools School Counselors about bullying and internet crimes.
In her free time, Tracie is an avid Dawg fan. She and her husband, David, regularly attend UGA sporting events, traveling all over the country to see the Dawgs play! They have 3 dachshunds named Munson, Dooley, and Erk and a chocolate lab named Emma Mae.

Experienced, energetic, and ready to lead, JT's first-generation story is living proof of the American Dream.
Born to immigrant parents, JT went from kindergarten in Gwinnett County Public Schools to graduating on scholarship from Princeton University, getting his start in public service working in the State Department during college. Since then, he's collaborated with diplomats on policy research, held executive roles across the private sector, fought for living wages of $15 an hour as the first-ever Asian-American on the Gwinnett County Public Library Board, and founded an early childhood literacy nonprofit called Preface here in Gwinnett County teaching kids of all backgrounds to read.
Thanks to deep relationships with local leaders, JT has a proven track record of bringing folks together to get things done. He's running to make sure the next generation of Georgians will have the same opportunities he had growing up - high-quality education, good healthcare, and HOPE for a brighter future.

Ryan Cox was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee then moved to metro Atlanta for culinary school at the age of 23. Ryan has been a resident of Gwinnett County now for over 14 years. He currently attends Berean Christian Church.
Ryan has been married for over 11 years and has twins that currently attend Gwinnett County Public Schools. Ryan started his organization Gwinnett Chatt Outreach in 2019 to bridge the divide between law enforcement and the community. In 2020 as the pandemic reached its peak, Ryan was furloughed and decided to pursue Gwinnett Chatt Outreach as a full-time career. Since then, the nonprofit has evolved into helping teenagers from across the area pursue their life after high school plans.
Ryan has organized and done the work in the community such as organizing an annual box fan and water giveaway that gives these items to the most needed in our community.
Ryan is the right person for the job because he cares about people. People always come first.

www.PopcornandPolitics.com Erick Allen learned from his parents that faith without good deeds falls short. Erick’s father, a retired CME pastor, volunteered as a poll worker and worked to register people of color to vote. His mother was a beloved public school teacher for over 30 years - shaping the hearts and minds of countless young people. On weekends, Erick would join his grandmother as a volunteer at the Red Cross and continue learning about the value of public service.
In 2018, Cobb County voters sent Erick to the state Capitol to continue his advocacy on behalf of small business owners, working families and healthcare access. In addition to healthcare, Representative Allen has been an advocate for environmental justice and a check on Republican attempts to make voting more difficult for people of color. He formed the bipartisan Legislative Working Group on Addiction and Recovery, only the 2nd such caucus in the country, to reduce the stigma of Mental Health and Substance Abuse. He then went on to represent Cobb County as the Chair of the Cobb Legislative Delegation.
In his time running for office and since representing the 40th district, Erick advocates for families and small businesses with both his voting record and his commitment to community involvement.
Even before COVID, Georgia families were struggling unnecessarily because of politicians who care more about their own ego and ambition than the issues that affect everyday Georgians.
Erick’s decision to run for Lieutenant Governor is a natural next step. He not only understands the legislative process, he understands the needs of Georgians and is willing to go the distance to work on their behalf. As he answers the call to service, he knows that the needs of Georgians are complex, nuanced, and individualistic, not a space for partisan games.

Tye Whitley is an educator, an award-winning community engagement leader, a published writer and researcher, and a parent of three SCCPSS students. She is the owner of Chunk's Learning Center, and she has traveled throughout the state of Georgia advocating parent and community involvement in education.
Tye has been recognized at the state and local levels for her ability to communicate effectively, support of student achievement, and her collaboration within the community. She is a recipient of the Georgia Parent Leadership Award and author of the grant proposal that secured funding to create a book nook at Shuman Elementary School. She is an avid researcher whose findings have helped uncover ways to bring STEM education and gifted resources to minority children.

Rotary International is the largest service organization in the world. Their stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a non-political and non-religious organization. Arnetta sits on the board for small cities of Texas Municipal League (TML). Arnetta is also a Children’s Choir Director at Windsor UMC where Suzette Caldwell is Senior Pastor. Arnetta Murray has testified numerous times before the Texas House and Senate and she’s a part of many community organizations (Community Change.org, NAACP, HUFAF). Arnetta has participated in many high-profile marches where change took place. Arnetta is 15-year resident in Brazoria County, and she is so grateful to be on the council of City of Iowa Colony. Wherever she goes she always has the City of Iowa Colony, Tx (Brazoria County) at the forefront.

During one of our worst hurricanes, although still reeling from the loss of a child, Mr. Hicks, recognized the needs of his fellow citizens, and lead his communications team in restoring services to thousands in New Orleans, placing the needs of many before the need of one. Given the opportunity he will fight and do the same for you.
Antonio fights to be an advocate for the people because he has suffered some of the same troubles people around his district suffering from. Mr. Hicks has had to fight Crohn's disease, bullying, the loss of his youngest son, depression, and homelessness for over 2 years. During the day he works as a Network Security engineer.
