This week on The Intellectual Stew, we’re taking a short pause from our deep dive into the life of Joseph — a man who truly exemplified grace in the face of betrayal. While Joseph extended grace to his brothers who sold him into slavery, tonight we’re zooming in on what that kind of grace looks like in our own lives.
The truth is, it’s hard to give what you’ve forgotten you received. That’s why tonight’s topic, “When You Remember Who You Were, Grace Gets Easier,” is a heart check for the healed and the healing. We're challenging the spiritual amnesia that causes us to judge others from pedestals we didn’t build. We’re calling out the ego that forgets the struggle. And we’re reintroducing a grace that frees both the offender and the offended.
This episode will tug on some deep emotions, provoke self-reflection, and invite you to extend the very thing that saved you — grace.
So, if you’ve ever struggled to let go, to forgive, or to love someone who doesn’t deserve it… this one’s for you.
Tune in, lean in, and let’s get better — together.

Joseph didn’t just end up in the place of God—he was prepared for it.
Long before he became second-in-command in Egypt, Joseph was a kid with a calling, born into a family full of jealousy, favoritism, and dysfunction. Being chosen set him apart, but it also made him a target.
This Monday at 9 PM EST, we’re taking an in-depth look at:
Joseph’s home life—how his family dynamics shaped him.
Being called at an early age—how being set apart made him stand out.
How everything he went through prepared him for Genesis 50:19—his place of purpose.

Joseph had every reason to be bitter, but instead, he looked back at his life and declared, “Am I in the place of God?” (Genesis 50:19). He understood that his pain had a purpose—the pit, Potiphar’s house, the prison, and even being forgotten were all part of the process that positioned him for the palace.
Tonight on The Intellectual Stew, we’re breaking down how to see your struggles through healed lenses—not as a victim but as a victor who understands the process. Tune in for an episode that will challenge your perspective, heal old wounds, and remind you that what they meant for evil, God meant for good.

One viewer wanted the male perspective regarding an auto immune condition with which she was dealing.
We also discussed when you should tell your mate that you have a virus like herpes. We also had three nurses on to discuss the myths as it relates to herpes, suggesting that it is not a death sentence.
Check it out!
Things we discussed
Some have ideas. Some have visions. Many have ideas that have not graduated into visions. Until they do, they are just ideas.
On this episode, the MNL Crew and I discussed dating. Part if that discussion included trying to understand why people never actually make it to a first date because they are busy looking for red flags. And we know that when you go looking for something, you usually find it.
We also asked and answered the question:
Is learning to like someone the same as settling?
We also discussed a few dating tips.
Shana Flenoy stopped by and shared her dating experiences.
Tune in and enjoy
I was just sitting here reflecting about my mama, Miss Karen Larue Kirklin, who departed this earth in March of 2022 and we miss her dearly.
On Monday Night Live, we had a few special guests come on and we were supposed to plan a first date. Needless to say that the conversation got a little candid and we never got a chance to discuss that date.
I think this is what happens with potential relationships. The potential gets lost leading up to the first date. It certainly happened on this show... SMH

Ime Udoka cheated on his girlfriend/baby's momma and the world is in an uproar. Brett Favre basically pulled a reverse Robin Hood on the citizens of Mississippi. Robert Sarver created a culture within the Phoenix Suns organization where there was racism, misogyny, and workplace misconduct and adversely affected at least 70 current and former employees. But, we are talking about Ime cheating on his girlfriend.
Stay focused and do better
Everybody wants the perfect mate. Many of us sit back and imagine what we think the perfect person is for us. The one who we will think will be the ying to our yang, the cream in our coffee, the one who complements us perfectly. They have the perfect build. They are the most peaceful. They actually help you become the best version. Unfortunately, in many instances, this is a fairy tale. Yet, we have made lists, telling ourselves that the only we can be satisfied is if this person meets all of our requirements. Good luck!
In this episode, Marc and I, along with Jackie and Malinda discuss whether we believe lists limit our options when it comes to dating. We also discuss different types of boundaries and whether they are concrete or elastic.Â

Lady Z and Rodney stopped by The Stew to share 33 yrs of wisdom with the audience. They admit that in their 33 yrs of marriage, they have not always gotten it right. They have experienced growing pains, they just made it a point to grow together. They even divorced and reconnected. Talk about reconciliation!  With so many marriages ending in divorced and so many platforms targeting single people and giving advice, I thought we should listen to a current success story. In this episode of Tuesday F.L.O.W., we are introduced to two PKs (Preacher's kids), Pastor Stephen Thurston II (son of Pastor Stephen Thurston of Chicago, IL) and Pastor Kelon Duke (son of Elder/Pastor Kenneth Duke of Miami, FL). All too often, PKs have gotten a bad wrap. They have been called spoiled, entitled, and in many cases, have had unfair expectations placed upon them that they didn't deserve. People tend to forget that the calling was placed on their parents, not them, Yet, they have had to bare those burdens.
However, in this episode, our guests chronicle their experiences from calling, to preparation, to practical implementation. They reference their home life, their call to ministry, how it was important for them to develop their own identities, and how they were able to take what they learned and used that acquired knowledge to help their fathers further their ministries, along with their personal ministries. They also share there greatest successes and failures.
We, at The Intellectual Stew also want to commend their fathers for the sacrifices they made for their families and ministries.
Be blessed by the conversation.

We decided to discuss it on The Intellectual Stew and we gained some interesting perspectives. We had the testimony of a brother, who was raised by a mother who had toxic trairs. We had another young lady come on and admit that she had toxic traits but has since recognized them and is trying to correct course.Â

Brothers, if the chasms in our communities are going to be cured, we have to reconcile our sisters. Part of that process involves us taking responsibility for the damage that we have done. On this week´s episode, we will discuss what that damage looks like, and hopefully come up with a strategy to avoid repeating this cycle that has decimated our communities, leaving our men and women in what seems to be perpetual state of division. We have to figure out how to unite.
Fellas, if we are going to undo the damage we've caused, we must:
Grow up
Accept responsibility
Hold other brothers accountable
The next one is for the sisters

Everything seems to be targeted towards keeping our men and women divided. And somewhere along the way became lured by subliminal suggestion. We have been programmed into believing that neither side needs the other. Debating over who's the prize? Advertising your deal breakers, instead of embracing the possibilities that might exist. We have  to change our mindsets- FOR REAL.
Let's discuss some of the Hard Truths that that men AND women deal with and see if we can develop a better understanding of each other's hang ups and possibly move on towards better.

"Don't waste my time. I am dating with a purpose." These are the sentiments of a lot of women today. The pressures of raising children, maintaining a career. taking care of their household, along with the unexpected challenges that come day to day, it becomes hard to date. Let alone, date multiple, hoping the right one will reveal himself. Therefore, a lot of women choose not to date. And if they do, they have to do it with a purpose.

Tonight we will be discussing the popular Tyler Perry movie, Acrimony. In 2018, Taraji P Henson starred in the movie, Acrimony, playing the character Melinda Gayle. The movie depicted a woman relentlessly supporting her man (Robert, played by Lyriq Bent) through all of his ups and downs-from dating to marriage, including infidelity, joblessness, poverty, all with the hopes of seeing his dream come into fruition. Throughout their marriage, they faced ridicule from family who witnessed what they interpreted as unreciprocated and wasted support from one member of the marriage- Melinda. After finally having enough and at the recommendation of her sister, Melinda decided to leave her husband.
Fast forward:
Not long after their divorce and after connecting with another woman, Robert’s dream was finally realized, and he received a very lucrative deal for his invention.
This leads me to ask a few questions:
Did Melinda stay too long?
Do you think Robert grew up in the marriage?
Did it take another woman to help him accomplish his ultimate goal?
Was he required to compensate Melinda for her sacrifices?
We will answer these questions and others?
Anika Truss and John Wilson will join the MNL Crew in the discussion. She says her opinion might be a little different from most women. Join in to listen at 9 PM EST on Facebook or YouTube Live.

In the series, Welsby introduces the reader to Jacob Richardson, who is a 28 yr old married model, who suffers with satyriasis. Â This is a term used to describe the male version of a nympho. Â Who knew that the word nympho was gender specific? Although Jacob is married, he has slept with over 3,000 women. But at a certain point, his mind began to change.

What does rock bottom look like to you? It could have been when you found yourself incarcerated? It might  have been after you made a bad investment and you had to file bankruptcy.  It could have been after the divorce when you found yourself all alone. Wherever your lowest place was, that represented your "rock bottom." How did it you handle it? Were you able to overcome?   Perhaps, you are dealing with rock bottom right now. If so, listen to see how my guests and I dealt with "rock bottom" and have rebounded. Feel free to join the conversation.  Â

Join The Intellectual Stew on Monday Night at 9 PM EST as we talk about "The Universal Nature of Fathering."
Fatherhood is not always confined to the biological. Men are called to be fathers in everything they do.
The three gentlemen I have invited this week are fathers, but also share their parental values in different arenas on a daily basis.
Reggie Swinton - Former NFL player,, Coach Reggie is a husband, father, grandfather, and proprietor/ coach of the Arkansas Lions, a youth football organization in Little Rock, AR. Several young men look up to him.
C RamĂłnt Morris - is a biological father to two, but a spiritual father to many as the pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church of Brooklyn.
Reggie Curry - has his own children, but fathers so many as he fulfills his daily duties at the high school where he works as an administrator.

MONDAY NIGHT LIVE ON A TUESDAY
I'm excited about tonight's show about "Parenting through the lenses of four Black Fathers."
In this episode, we have come to debunk some of the myths that exist regarding Black men and their role in the home. Much has been said about the absence of Black male fathers.. Statistics highlight how single mothers lead the majority of homes in our communities. In fact, from 1974 to 2015, the percentage of families with children headed by a single mother nearly doubled—from 14.6 percent to 25.2 percent—while the percentage of families headed by a single father quadrupled from 1.4 percent to 8.3 percent..
Our special guests are fathers who continue to play a intricate part in their children's lives despite their busy schedules and against popular opinion. Tune in to hear their stories.
C RamĂłnt Morris- He's a father. He's an academician. He's a nationally known revivalist. He's also the Pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church of Brooklyn
Reggie Curry - He's a father. He's an athletic director in the Atlanta Public School System
Dr. Kevin D. Flythe - He's a father. He is the owner of and a chiropractor at Bodyworks Chiropractic Services in Marietta, GA.
They all have their individual success stories and we look forward to hearing them tonight on The Intellectual Stew at 9 PM EST.

This is part 2 of a hard conversation that we started last week that was so necessary. We have to fix the rifts in relationships in our community- ALL OF THEM!
Who would have imagined that parents could be jealous of their own children? More specifically, how can a mother be jealous of her own daughter? Apparently, it happens and we're going to discuss it on The Intellectual Stew Monday night at 10 PM EST.
Thank you Ash G, Lady Karen Hayes, and Faye Bryant for contributing to the conversation.

No Excuses? Â Really? Â Man, this society is brutal and leaves a very small margin for error. Â Thus, so many get left behind due to lack of exposure and under exposure. Is that really fair? Â In this video, James reflects on many of the past experiences that has made him the man he has become. Â Although he has made his share of mistakes, Â he has managed to use those mistakes as learning tools and is sharing them, hoping that someone might learn from his experience and avoid having to deal with unnecessary pitfalls.
