Hey there, book lovers! Today's topic is all about writing successful book descriptions and blurbs that will grab your readers' attention and entice them to pick up your book.
We started off by discussing the purpose of a book description and how it differs from a blurb. While a book description provides a summary of the entire story, a blurb is a shorter and more attention-grabbing summary that focuses on the main character's goal and conflict, and ends with a hook that leaves the reader wanting more.
Next, we talked about the importance of tailoring your book description and blurb to your target audience. Understanding your audience and what they're looking for in a book is key to writing a description and blurb that will resonate with them and make them want to read more.
We also discussed how to optimize your book description and blurb for online retailers such as Amazon. This involves incorporating keywords and formatting to improve visibility and make your book more discoverable to potential readers.
Lastly, we emphasized the importance of testing and refining your book description and blurb before publishing. Conducting surveys or A/B testing can help you gather feedback and make improvements to your description and blurb that will make them more effective in attracting readers.
In conclusion, we hope this discussion has been helpful in providing you with some tips and strategies for writing successful book descriptions and blurbs. Remember, a strong description and blurb can make all the difference in attracting readers and getting your book noticed. Firstly, we talked about the definition of the author-reader relationship and why it's important for authors. We defined it as the connection between the author and their readers that goes beyond just the act of writing and reading. These are all effective ways to connect with readers and build a sense of community.
We also highlighted examples of successful author-reader relationships, such as Stan Lee and Marvel, J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter fanbase, and Stephen King's relationship with his "Constant Readers." These authors were able to build strong connections with their readers by engaging with them and creating a community around their work.
Finally, we addressed the challenges of building a strong author-reader relationship, such as balancing personal and professional boundaries, handling negative feedback or criticism, and managing time and resources effectively. These challenges are not insurmountable but require careful consideration and a willingness to communicate with readers honestly and openly.

Welcome to Dove and Dragon Radio with your host, M.L.! Today we're diving into a topic that every author has to consider: self-publishing versus traditional publishing. We've had the pleasure of talking to successful authors in the past, and we're excited to explore this topic with you.
So, what's the deal with self-publishing? With self-publishing, authors have complete control over their book. They get to decide everything from the writing process to the final design and marketing. This can be a big plus for authors who want creative control and the potential for higher royalties.
But, there are some downsides to self-publishing. It requires authors to take on all aspects of the publishing process, which can be daunting if you're not experienced in editing, cover design, formatting, and marketing. Plus, some readers and industry professionals may view self-published works as lower quality than traditionally published books, which could limit your potential readership.
And let's not forget about vanity presses. These companies offer publishing services for a fee, but they may not provide the same level of editing or design services as traditional publishers. It's important to do your research before working with any company that requires upfront fees.
So, what about traditional publishing? With traditional publishing, authors have access to a team of professionals who handle editing, design, and marketing. The rigorous vetting and editing process ensures that the book meets industry standards, which can give readers the perception of professionalism and credibility.
But, traditional publishing also has its drawbacks. The publishing process can be lengthy, and there's no guarantee that your book will be accepted for publication. Even if it is accepted, you may have to relinquish some creative control to the publishing company, and royalty rates are typically lower than with self-publishing.
Ultimately, the decision of which method to pursue comes down to the individual author and their goals for their book. We'll be diving deeper into these topics in future episodes of Dove and Dragon Radio, so stay tuned!

CLIPPED
A mom invents a way to hold her life together just as the world falls apart
By Adrienne Alitowski
Clipped is a quirky memoir about a new mother whose desperation to get her baby to sleep catapulted her into becoming an inventor and a small business owner—just before the world fell apart in 2008.
As a full-time mother and entrepreneur, Adrienne Alitowski rolled out her invention, blankyclip®, to retailers across the country, including over thirty stores in the Buy Buy Baby national chain. LA Parent Expecting and Kids Today, both made blankyclip a “Top Pick''. The United States Patent and Trademark Office awarded her three utility patents and a trademark. All that fabulous glory aside, Adrienne also learned what it’s like to fly halfway around the world to a Chinese factory and to be pregnant, throwing up on the street just before an investor meeting. These experiences led her down a path to write this memoir about sticking to your vision and being open to finding gold in the muck.

A native New Yorker, born and raised in the Bronx, James L Hill spent his adolescence years in Fort Apache, the South Bronx 41st precinct during the 60’s, a time when you needed to have a gang to go to the store. Raised on blues, soul, and rock and roll gave him the heart of a flower child. Educated by the turmoil of Vietnam, Civil Rights, and the Sexual Revolution turned James into a gladiator. Realizing the precariousness of life, he took on an adventurous outlook trying anything once, and if it did not kill him, maybe twice.
12 years of Catholic education and a couple of years in college spread between wild drug induce euphoric years, which did not kill him, produced an unique moral compass that swings in any direction it wants. A scientific mind and a spirit that nothing is impossible if you want it bad enough guides his writings. He enjoys traveling to new places and seeing what life has to offer.
With little other interest outside the bedroom, and still a hopeless insomniac, he is free to pound out plots. Killer With A Heart is the first in a series for Bulletproof Morris ‘Mojo’ Johnson and Killer With Three Heads continues the saga. Killer Series Book 3, Killer With Black Blood to be released Summer 2021. James writes crime stories (as J L Hill) and science fictions Pegasus: A Journey To New Eden, with a slant on the dark side of life. He recently penned, The Emerald Lady, the first in the fantasy Gem Stones Series and coming soon book 2, The Ruby Cradle.

A beautifully written historical fiction novel set primarily in the north woods of Wisconsin during 1920 and 1921.
The narrative entwines the fictional story of an eight-year-old boy, Will, within that period’s rich historic context. The story meticulously incorporates the history of logging in Wisconsin, the flu pandemic, Prohibition, World War I, and post-war American culture, specific to that time and place. Will’s story reflects the challenges, hardships, and ethnic discrimination faced and overcome by American immigrants, then and now.
These themes remain as relevant today as they were in 1920, and portray an archetypal immigrant experience, which is part of the proud, shared heritage of all Americans. The colorful language, rich history, characters, and Wild West atmosphere of the region will appeal to all readers.

Elena is a fourteen year-old author. People always ask how she came up with the idea for her middle grade book series about sibling rivalry. So fine the answer to that and more here.
Her new book is The Harpers’ Holiday Horror in which more sibling mischief takes place. A newly revised, kid-friendly and teacher-approved edition of Big Brother, Little Sister is now available, and I have plans for a third book in the BBLS series.

September Twelfth: An American Comeback Story is an inspiring book that reflects the indomitable spirit of America and Americans.
On September 11, 2001, The Wall Street Journal’s main newsroom — located just across the street from the World Trade Center — was severely damaged by falling debris and flaming smoke. For much of the day, it seemed certain that the paper’s dynamic managing editor, Paul E. Steiger, had been killed or seriously injured.
This is the true story of how the traumatized men and women of the Journal and Dow Jones — journalists, graphic designers, technicians, administrative assistants, compositors, and delivery truck drivers — over came their personal anguish and confusion and rallied to publish a Pulitzer Prize-winning edition on September 12th.

David Poses is a writer, speaker and activist, and author of the upcoming memoir, "The Weight of Air: A Story of the Lies About Addiction and the Truth About Recovery."
After 20 years of hiding his struggle with depression and opioids, David started opening up and challenging the disregard of science and evidence in drug treatment prevention and policy. He's been published by The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and New York Daily News, and appeared on national TV programs including CBS’ The Doctors, and numerous radio shows and podcasts.
With grit, humor, and a searingly honest perspective formed by science and lived experience, he advocates for a shift from punitive, self-defeating prohibition laws and logic to an approach based on evidence, compassion, and the Harm Reduction philosophy. David lives in New York's Hudson Valley with his wife and kids and dogs and entirely too many guitars for such a mediocre player.

Angie Pantera thought she had the perfect life: a loving, devoted husband of twenty-five years, two wonderful, grown children, and an impending wedding anniversary celebration with friends and family. But the celebration is ruined by a cheating husband, and Angie’s life devolves into a living nightmare—until serendipity brings her to Birdsong, Maine, as recreation director at the Home of the Little Flower.
A church-run nursing home that is slowly wasting away with its nonagenarian inhabitants, the Home could use a miracle . . . or maybe a facsimile of one. A bit of creative advertising prompts Angie to buy a bouquet of “magical” dandelions, and in a flash of inspiration, she knows exactly how to bring light to these dark days. After all, no one is ever too old for wishes.
But then people start dying, and the only thing they have in common is Angie. Harangued by a distrustful elder and under suspicion by the police, Angie must fight to clear her good name as she seeks out the truth: Is this a miracle or murder?
Merehr follows the lives of two brothers — one black, one white. Brothers of different bloodlines, Wing and Nien live in a secluded valley, isolated by high mountain ranges and the piety of their race. Religious seclusion and fear of the outlying valleys has forced the role of prophet upon Wing and rebel upon Nien. But no one's ever only one thing: Wing and Nien both reject their people's claim on them. What results is the complete transformation of a continent, a race, a family, and most importantly the lives of the two brothers, torn between who they want to be and who their people want them to be.

The Unforeseen:
The perfect plan to disappear forever. No more cops. No more lawyers. In the end - freedom.
A restaurant full of patrons are enjoying lunch at their favorite downtown Kansas City lunch spot, when a group of armed men enter. The patrons had just become hostages. The elite group of mercenaries have but one goal: to hold the restaurant for less than five hours, until dusk. At sunset, the plan is for the hostages to be released. As the men and women flood into the street, the restaurant will explode and the mercenaries, along with their benefactor, will escape in the chaos created.
Simple enough but for a few minor details. Amongst the hostages is the hierarchy of Kansas City's organized crime; and watching them, four FBI agents. But the plan had accounted for their presence. In fact, the plan had covered every foreseeable contingency. However, the plan could not account for The Unforeseen.
Amongst the patrons, a man named Logan and his girlfriend, Michele, on a lunch date celebrating an anniversary. Within minutes of being inside the restaurant, one of the armed men places his hands on Michele bloodying her perfect face, inciting Logan's rage. Unbeknownst to the armed men or Michele, Logan, is the world's most skilled killer for hire, who is now determined to avenge her. But he has to do so without revealing himself to the gunman, the FBI or most importantly, Michele.

Cameron is your average, run of the mill, seventeen-year-old kid. He did have some random thoughts over the years that he wasn’t quite like others, but never talked about that with anyone—he didn’t want to be labeled a “freak.” Aside from that, everything about his life is about as normal as could be. He goes to school, has friends, has fun with girls at parties, and just enjoys his altogether normal life, until the night that everything is shattered.
Just before he turns eighteen, Cameron’s parents are murdered by home invaders wearing masks; and that’s when all hell breaks loose—literally.
Cameron is shoved head-first into a world that he never would have believed could possibly be real. A world where monsters truly exist, and not just the human kind, but the kind you read about in books and see in films. It’s up to Cameron, and a select group of freedom fighters, not only to save the earth, but also to save the galaxy and, along with it, his true homeland—Elyria.

I know the answer to the world’s deepest secret,” Graham Newsdon, a functioning alcoholic and Harvard medical student and the protagonist of Into the Rabbit Hole declares in the novel’s opening page. After stumbling across a puzzling communication from his deceased Navy Seal brother, Graham must work to unravel a litany of secrets sobering in their implications not only for himself, but for the past twelve-thousand years of human history. Had he not, in his hungover state, opened the e-mail, Graham could have continued on his predetermined successful, if dysfunctional, path and never embarked on the paradigm-shifting journey that so loosens his grasp on reality and obliterates not only what he chooses to believe but what he trusts as fact. With the help of his long-term girlfriend, his quirky Mensan best friend, and his wild and athletic best girlfriend since childhood, he sets out to decode this complex cryptogram, which he soon discovers is charged with the potential to unhinge the very control that certain government officials are intent, at all costs, on maintaining. In the vein of Dan Brown, Micah Dank takes the reader on an electrifying hunt for what is real and what is possible, encountering along the way politics, conspiracy, fringe medicine, history, and language, and what it means to survive—thrive, even—when you have the weight of the world on your shoulders.

The story begins with Veronica. She is a singer working for a rebellious organization fixed on deterring the Australian Pope’s plans. She is living with her fiance and brother. The company finds that the way of destroying the Pope is by Veronica getting experimented on.
After Veronica gets abducted, the story splits to Reuben. He is coping with his mother’s arrest by joining a gang and doing drugs. When the city gets destroyed, he teams up with Jessica, Mikey, Karishma and the rest of the characters from Veronica’s story. They travel through the dilapidated city in search of survivors.
Once enough survivors are accumulated, everyone starts to live in the wilderness. They face Sangworms, which are blood sucking parasites that turn you into zombies. They meet Sheva and Shaddrach who are soldiers in search of a promised land (Celsta). They also discovered a radio with communication to Australia. They are led to a safe haven. Stephen, Veronica’s fiance, begins falling in love with Jessica after getting infected with a deadly virus.
We come back to Veronica who is in outerspace being experimented on. She wakes up with superpowers that she can’t understand. Her goal is to escape the outerspace facility and make it back home. There are many obstacles and traps that she must overcome and fight lots of people. This sequence in the book is similar to “Escape the Night,” “Resident Evil,” “Three Percent,” or “Saw.” After she overcomes all the tests and booby traps and fights other super powered people and creatures, she learns just what this evil Pope is really thinking and gets inside his sick, demented thought-process which is seemingly Biblical or Catholic in nature. She finally makes it back to Earth, but there is nothing left.

Began writing short stories and poetry back in the early years. In his twenties, James moved on to novels, but fell out of love with the whole publishing industry. He worked in the financial industry and later got a degree in computer programming, James' other love. He built a successful career as a software engineer designing, developing and maintaining systems for the government and the private sector. He has been programming for nearly forty years in various languages.
With the advantages provided by the expanding and growing self publishing business, print on demand, and the explosion of social media/internet as a viable means of advertising James returned to his first love, unleashing the characters in his head. He published the Killer Series, "Killer With A Heart" and "Killer With Three Heads", the first two in the series.
His vision is to make it easier for new authors to be discovered by doing away with unsolicited manuscripts and agent only submission.

Hyphened-Nation was inspired by my travels overseas, and time spent living in the United Kingdom. Living abroad was an eye opening experience, I grew to understand certain aspects of American culture better, the longer I lived overseas. This book is about my insights, and experience of being treated as a pure American, rather than as a hyphenated one. The difference was startling, and lead me on a journey to understand why The United States is one of the only, if not the only country, that hyphenates its citizens by ethnicity before nationality. Those same boxes we allow ourselves to be placed into as hyphenated-Americans, limit our economic, educational, societal and cultural growth. This book focuses on ways the U.S. and Europe differ culturally via media, and how a bridge might be created. I hope this book inspires you to join the movement and, "Don't Check the Box". Be a catalyst for positive change. Your stories and insights will help to light everyone's path to a brighter future.

The Story of America's Park
After being fired by Walt Disney, the flamboyant C.V. Wood brought his hard-won experience as the self-titled "master builder of Disneyland" east, to a marsh in the Bronx, where in 1960 he unveiled his greatest project, a doomed theme park to tell the history of America: Freedomland.
Wood's efforts to build his "Disneyland of the East," a themed collection of lands that presented epic moments in American history as thrill rides, shows, and live action, were plagued from the start by politics, cost overruns, and financial chicanery. Despite these obstacles, the park prospered—until its big-money backers (as they had planned from the start) pulled the plug and cleared the land for lucrative urban development.
Through a well-researched narrative, personal and newspaper accounts, interviews, and exclusive photos, journalist and author Michael R. Virgintino presents the definitive history of Freedomland, from the people behind its creation, and the executives, entertainers, and sponsors who kept it running, to in-depth looks at each of its historically themed lands, and an analysis of the park's inevitable bankruptcy in 1964.
Unlike Disneyland, the story of Freedomland does not have a happily ever after, but theme park fans will not want to miss this captivating but cautionary tale of America's park.

While living in Nevada’s capital, Carson City, Bob – a skilled photographer and car racing fan – began taking professional-quality photos of the races, the local quarter-mile oval track, and the trophy ceremonies. He was soon discovered by the local newspapers – as well as by Racing Wheels Magazine. Bob wound up as the racing photojournalist – taking the photos and writing the stories – for a number of publications, often traveling in the race circuit, from California to Texas. He had a custom van that he parked in the pit – the center of the race track, inside the oval – and had a crew to work with him, for shots that required him to be two places at once.
Having gotten quite a start as a working writer/photographer, upon his retirement, his wife Penny encouraged him to write his memoirs, which he did in a series of vignettes and stories of his time in the police and private investigator, as an ambulance crewmember, car racing photojournalist – even his time in Vietnam. These stories were so successful that, at Penny’s urging, he turned some of them into his first novel, Gone But Not Forgotten, which he self-published.

A young woman embarks on a harrowing journey to save her world's last vestige of magical healing in Robert E. Balsley Jr.'s epic new fantasy novel, The Salvation of Innocence. Althaya, the goddess of healing, wishes to share her ability to help those in need, providing "empaths," which give clerics the means to magically heal others—a means that some people fear and wish to destroy. In response, a dark magic known as the Purge is created to seek out and eradicate all empaths. But one lone survivor remains, spirited away by Althaya and hidden in a magical stasis field. There, the last empath must remain alive until the time comes for rescue—but the Purge will not rest until the last empath is found and killed. Three thousand years later, Kristen Rosilie Clearwater is only beginning to realize her destiny. Having been brought to the island of InnisRos as an orphan, she has long felt a "tug" toward something she can't quite understand. But when she begins experiencing the dreams of a young child, Kristen knows that the two are somehow connected—and that the fate of the world, and the future of healing magic, rests on her shoulders.

Tales From The Day: Life shaping events that truth be told all happened under the heading of "oops."
Yeah, this is a humorous, occasionally satirical memoir of sorts, if shark fishing in one’s underwear, roping a bear, running with the bulls, getting drunk with your Grandfather, or losing ten grand at the Hollywood Sign is a humorous memoir.
This is a young man’s memoir in the sense that it consists of humorous short stories from back in the day. This rollicking tour of the human condition, readers have found, is applicable to living a full life both then and now. The stories are told with candor coupled with a dry wit. Praise for Tales From The Day, for its material and great writing, is voluminous and multi-generational.
Along with the above, you’ll find The Day Johnny Cash Hit On My Wife on the roster, plus a thing about getting shot in Arkansas and a road trip with a monkey.
The Author doesn’t deny these were life shaping events, but truth be told they all happened under the heading of “oops.”

THE GOSPEL OF ST. JOHN - Revisiting the Vision of Rudolf Steiner for the 21st Century: Our Participation in Earth's Evolution as the Planet of Love (Simply Steiner)
If you have been concerned about the welfare of our planet, in our challenging and transformative times—and if you harbor the hope that you can help bring about a truly better world based in an illuminated spiritual level—then this book is for you.
Rudolf Steiner was a brilliant late 19th-century Austrian visionary whose astonishing spiritual perceptivity brought about the Waldorf Schools, architectural developments, biodynamic agriculture, and much more. But because the books and lectures based on his profoundly forward thinking were written down by others in German, and then translated into overly stilted English, even dedicated Steinerians have often found his books difficult to understand.
And for someone new to Steiner? Not a piece of cake! A pity, since the books contain so much worth reading.
Enter Eliza Joslin Kendall. Raised with Steiner’s ideas from a young age, she found in them a spiritual lodestar for our time. “When I read Steiner,” she writes, “I just knew that I knew all that he was talking about, as if I had read it before. His writings resonated so deeply within me that I immediately felt called to take Steiner and his philosophy to the public in a way that can be taken in by the soul, not just the mind. I continue to feel that this is greatly needed. Especially in today’s world.”
Why “today’s world”? Because being able to read Steiner in a more comprehensible form gives depth, history, and (the best kind of) mystery for how we got to where we are now—where we actually are at this time—what we need to do to become the most authentic spiritual beings we can be. Humanity, says Steiner, has been evolving in its relationship to the Divine since early epochs and civilizations; and the earth has been evolving along with it. This evolution is intimately connected with the incarnation of Christ-Jesus and the evolution of our relation to the Divine, the I AM as an individual.
In The Gospel of St. John, Steiner helps us see what we have been being prepared for, and how to engage with the spiritual forces that direct this transformation. We are here to be the planet of love. Yes, our very own planet, this earth that is going through the sometimes alarming birthing pains of transformation, is meant to be the planet of Love.
If you’ve ever thought, “Isn’t there some reason I’m here on earth at this time? Isn’t there something real that I can do to help?” reading this book will reveal a fascinating epic that you too are part of. Whatever your religious beliefs or background, Steiner’s Gospel of St. John via Eliza Kendall can shift your perspective of yourself, the human community, and the planet, which has the resources—and the evolutionary mandate—to actually become the planet of Love.

About Alexandra Clair
NEW BOOK - ILLEGAL FORECLOSURE,TITLE THEFT, AND ITS CHAIN OF CORRUPTION: How America's Banks are Stealing Private Property and feeding homes to the securities market.
This book tells a story of corruption beginning in rural Somerville, Tennessee and going all the way up to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The aim of this book is to equip others to defend against title theft by white-collar criminals, in partnership with what I describe as the Bank Theft Delivery System. I tell my own story as well as that of other persons profiled and targeted as unlikely to fight back. This book is a microcosm of what is happening across this country.
I grew up in Winchester, MA and currently live in a small town in the Midwest. I've always been drawn to study history and like many writers, began writing poetry and short stories while still quite young. The defining event in my life was becoming a Christian at age twenty three.
I'll next be working on the third book in the Wood's End Series. To view the Wood's End pre-production trailer, click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3LHMcv6z-4

About the Author:
Tina Maurine is the gal on the sidelines at the party. The gal who smiles at everyone, but rarely initiates conversation; never the center of attention, but always taking notes on those who are. She loves watching people, their authentic responses to everyday occurrences and in turn has turned years of notes into fodder for her stories, an encyclopedia of emotions and character traits that come alive on the page. She never feels more alive than when she is creating; be it stories, music, graphic art, or painting rocks and canvases with her daughter.
She is a wife, mom, best friend, secretary, teacher, cheerleader, house-straightener, chef, chauffeur, video game playing, Barbie doll dressing domestic multi-tasker. She likes her French baguettes crispy, her beer dark, and her chocolate even darker. Her music tastes are eclectic, but if there's a beat, you can bet her body is moving to it... even in the car... and the louder the better.
Tina Maurine lives in Oregon with her amazing husband of twelve years, and their two beautiful children. Prior to marriage and children, she served eight years in the United States Navy and saw the world. She and her husband share their love for travel with their kids, and take as many family trips as their busy schedules allow. When they aren't hitting the road or the skies, and when she isn't teaching, Tina is content to sit at the table in their backyard with her keyboard or a good, sexy book, and watch the kiddos play.

About Neil Perry Gordon
Neil Perry Gordon achieved his personal goal as an author of historical-fiction with his first novel--A Cobbler's Tale, published in the fall of 2018. With over fifty four and five star reviews praising the story and his writing style, he released his second novel--Moon Flower the following year. In the fall of 2019 the metaphysical fiction sequel to A Cobbler's Tale--The Righteous One was published.
His creative writing methods and inspiration have been described as organic; meaning that he works with a general storyline for his characters and plot, rather than with a formal, detailed outline. This encourages his writing to offer surprising twists and unexpected outcomes, which readers have celebrated.
His novels also have the attributes of being driven by an equal balance between character development, and face-paced action scenes, which moves the stories along at a swift page-turning pace.
Ready for 2020, Neil Perry Gordon once again explores the historical-fiction genre with two new novels: Hope City and The Bomb Squad.
Hope City is the first in a series chronicling the 1898 Alaskan adventures of the protagonist--Percy Hope. While The Bomb Squad tells the World War 1 story of Max Rothman an American patriot, protecting the homeland from the German spy, Dr. Harold Schwartz.
The author has attributed his love for the creative process from his formative years spent learning-to-learn at the Green Meadow Waldorf School.

About the Author:
I had started my career as a production scheduler with a leading production house and therefore gained great insight into the art of story writing and intriguing plot creations. Later, I started my own venture as an entrepreneur and was immensely successful in it. After that, I decided to pen down my thoughts in a way that one cannot have enough of reading. The success of my first book inspired me to carry forward my writing with ‘The Stolen House’ – my second book. There is uniqueness in this work of fiction of mine through which I wish to evoke your appreciativeness.
After You Leave your Last Job
This book is a for starters who want to leave their job and start business it gives a clear idea as what needs to be done and how , it also gives a gist of things which a entrepreneur may face while starting up a new venture

Critic Reviews
Kailash Amesur has weaved a pure literary magic in his novel and he has driven the ideas’ home perfectly. I won’t comment more on the storyline of the novel because almost every other reviewer, seniors and juniors, have done the same – also provided the basic storyline of the novel, and therefore, I won’t be doing that again. I would rather love to have my opinions conveyed.
The title is ‘The Stolen House’ and you must think it’d be some kind of thriller, suspense or something which will blow your mind …. But I should tell you, you are absolutely right! The book offers you a pleasant read and you can read it in just one or two sittings. You will also find a lot of adventure in the novel. Especially, the youths who want to read the novels with a lot of detective impetus will surely love the book!
The novel starts with the introduction of two main characters. First, inspector Milind, who is one of the most reputed police officers in the city who has solved many critical cases, and another main character is Mr. Roy, the most famous and reputed criminal lawyer of the city. With a huge list of successful stories behind him, he soon became a celebrity and was always seen in the headlines.
Coming to the story, it was surprising but true that the house of Mr. Roy was stolen, and for this, he complaints to inspector Milind. He takes it funny and he could not believe this complaint. But soon, he gets to know that the house was actually stolen and he was in a deep shock. Milind had no options to get rid of the situation. While he never envisioned becoming an author, Ellis Lucas is a natural born storyteller nonetheless. And in an age where it feels like everyone, even the most inconsequential of public figures and celebrities, feels compelled to chronicle their life’s journey in memoir form, Ellis Lucas’s The Potter and the Clay isn’t yet another ho-hum account of a few of humanity’s shared experiences. It’s a gritty, real-life story of utter transformation. A riveting and transparent page-turner of a story filled with love, a veritable mountain of loss, and eventually, sweet redemption, The Potter and the Clay also offers a powerful takeaway, namely that no matter how far someone feels from salvation, hope, change and, yes, total renewal are never out of reach.
“My life had been so completely destroyed that I’d come to believe there was absolutely no hope of ever changing, and all I had to look forward to was whatever awaited me beyond the grave—most likely judgment,” Ellis shares. “But while locked up in the Clay County Missouri Jail, at the end of life as I knew it, Jesus Christ stretched out His mighty hand of grace and showed Himself along with an astonishing revelation. God loved me and had an amazing plan for my life if I would open my heart and receive Him that day.

On August 20, 2015, after enduring years of intense workplace stress, bullying and harassment, Tracey Maxfield, a hard working, highly skilled, caring and compassionate nurse, hurtled headfirst down into an abyss of darkness, despair, pain and sorrow (she affectionately named the rabbit hole). Despite being no stranger to depression, having made its acquaintance many times throughout the years, nothing could have prepared her for what was about to happen to her life, her heart, her soul, her very being.
Escaping the Rabbit Hole: My Journey Through Depression is a brutally honest, raw, and vivid description of what life is like after experiencing an acute depressive episode. Through a series of blog posts, journal entries and a letter to self, Tracey shares the excruciating emotional and physical pain she endured, the never-ending feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness and sadness which left her inert and unable to function, and her ongoing battle against DBS (death by suicide). Every single day, she had to make a choice: to fight the battle to live, or to surrender and die. She chose to live, and so began her most difficult and challenging life journey yet, to try and escape the rabbit hole.
This book is a must read for anyone living with depression or caring for someone with depression, and for anyone who wants to know more about this greatly misunderstood mental health illness. Tracey shows us that words can be powerful and healing, and with time, it is possible to emerge from the rabbit hole of darkness and despair and reclaim your life. This is a story of courage, of hope, and of never giving up.

About Jan Notzon
Jan Notzon, one-time actor (Another World, Matlock, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) and now playwright and novelist was born and raised on the Mexican border in Texas. After a stint in The Big Apple, he now makes his home in Charlotte, NC.
Author of seven full-length plays, a one-act and a children's story (The Gift of Arbol Ceiba), he has recently turned his attentions to the novel.
His first, The Dogs...Barking, is the coming-of-age story of a boy growing up in challenging circumstances and how, as he grows into a man, he learns to deal with the devils his upbringing has instilled in him. His odyssey takes him from the staid, conformist 1950s to university life in the wild-eyed, rebellious '60s and on to the raw, frenetic power of New York City to pursue dreams of stardom. Amazingly, he finds the resolution to his quest in that same sleepy little town on the Mexican border where his journey began.
His second novel, And Ye Shall Be As Gods, traces the story of Jake Kazmareck, his quest to discover the evil that plunged his beloved baby-sister into despair and his lost love into madness. After a journey filled with agonizing self-discovery, he finds what he seeks in a most astonishing place.
Next is The Id Paradox, the tale of three friends, their almost fatal adventure canoeing down the Rio Grande, their frustrated attempt to sneak one's family across the Mexican border that ends in the apparent death of one and the consequent estrangement of the other two. When news reaches them that their bosom buddy is not dead but rotting in a Mexican prison, they come together to launch a rescue attempt. The endeavor is successful and heals the rift between the two. Now the challenge is to rebuild the broken spirit of their friend.
Jan's fourth, Song for the Forsaken, chronicles how the loss of faith brings the relationship of two dirt-poor sisters in Appalachia to the brink of disaster, and shows the family history that led them to that pass.

A man of action sees a beautiful woman and knows that he can have her, while a rebel knows that he can take her.”
This is one of many striking proverbs that enabled me to drive home the “edge” that the “bad boy” has. The bad boy in all essence is what most people call “alpha-male” today. He gets “the girl”, he has “the look”, and he does what he wants, needless to say; this guy is a winner. The Bad Boy is a series that is all about what type of man this is, and is designed for the man to question if this is the path for he should take, and for the woman to question if this is the guy that she could see herself with. In The Bad Boy, I will lead you through a series of seven different assertions.
Who the bad boy really is
What is takes to be a bad boy
The costs
The benefits
Why the bad boy gets so much respect
Why women can’t resist him
Why women don’t resist him
So prepare yourself to take a ride with...the bad boy.
