Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Daniel, David, Josiah, John, Andrew, Peter…
Any of Jesus’ friends, then or now…
Disciples, people who follow God, are changed by God…
Faith in Gods promises;
a willingness to walk in the new direction;
obedience to follow God’s direction…
all these elements bring us to a place where History is being told.
Ahhhh Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus.
But what about Joseph?
Joseph is suffering with this ‘good news’.
Joseph’s girl is pregnant and he KNOWS it wasn’t him.
Why is life dishing-out this grief, this ‘bad news’?
Do you find yourself wondering ‘Why me?’ as things happen TO you?
The course of our lives are sculpted by the choices we make;
In response to God’s prompting and directions.
Aren’t we usually about our own business
when God gets a hold of us?
How many people will be busy this holiday,
realizing our own good intentions?
Stop and listen this Christmas season…
When people hear from God, our lives change.
God shows WHERE we need to change.
And God shows HOW we need to change.
People who think they see, and who miss Christ,
can be as blind as a blind man.
And, in retrospect, Saul was blessed
to have something happen that stopped him in his tracks.
Not everybody gets that.
People who think they know God, are often surprised by God.
When God speaks, He is not always recognised by the hearer.
But a messenger who goes obediently, will confirm what God is doing.
Messengers confirm the good news that God IS at work in our lives.
Christmas is all about that message.
Will you bring the good news to people who may be on their own Damascus road?
Has God come to you on your way to Damascus?
the scripture clearly identifies more people
as ’sent’, as apostles,
than the original 12 that Jesus personally sent
we see that Paul taught
that the miraculous manifestations of the Holy Spirit
at work in the life of the believer
will continue
Listen as the battle is fought for a sincere witness to what God is genuinely doing among this body of believers.
Peter is clear about the main point in addressing a gathered crowd, He declares God’s plans for the church. Peter is prophesying, empowerd by the Holy Spirit.
When we hear from God, and follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit, the world around us is changed.
