G'day Folks, welcome to episode #30 of the Carrot Podcast.
Today I chat with Alex Georgiou about Solar and Battery Systems, Virtual Power Plants (VPP) and Renewable energy.
This is also the launch chat of the Solar For A Cause partnership between Habitat Sanctuaries Org and Shine Hub in the joined effort to see Australia speed up its transition to renewables and reduce Carbon Emissions.
Energy use from coal and gas are the largest single household contributors to Carbon Foot Prints and we plan on reducing them.
Hear our candid chat about the collaboration to see 100,000 more homes go solar with solar for a cause.
This is part #1 of a few chats on solar and battery (or smart home) setups that we will be doing to help educate and inform you of the best ways to switch, upgrade your existing system or add to a existing system.
At HSO we are proud of this partnership because it allows us to plant 50 x food and habitat trees for every solar system installed. Increasing the protected sanctuary lands.

G'Day folks in this episode we hear from an emerging artist Matilda Bishop. Who at the ripe old age of 23 years has already be published on books, appeared in Australian Geographic and represented many global environmental groups through her Art.
Matilda also operates Marobi.com.au art and is well worth checking out.
We believe in her visual story telling to the point that we signed her as a artist to help create and share her passion of nature with our community as well.
If you're a budding artist or an old hand at art, you will feel her passion and creativity as you listen. It's always a pleasure to chat with Matilda because of her energy and light that shines from within. I hope you enjoy this podcast and hearing from Matilda.
Have a great day folks and remember as always "happiness and kindness are a choice".

G'Day Folks, thanks for tuning into todays podcast with guest Delvin Ang of Oblivious Design. I wanted to bring you todays guest because success in business or a campaign starts with the Logo or image that identifies or differentiates your business or campaign for your audience.
When we get great advisors or professionals within our network that tackle problems with us for the collective good in a positive manner, with genuine intent to see it succeed.
Well, we wish to share those people and experiences in order to help you succeed in whatever business or campaign you have.
Oblivious Design has helped us at Habitat Sanctuaries Org with over a dozen logo's for various campaigns or brands, so that we can best communicate our story or represent our Brand. With pleasure I share a personal referral for one of our trusted network team members, because our money and our mouth are in the same place.

As always folks, be kind, be happy and remember its a choice.
G'Day Folks,
Todays podcast episode is with one of Australia's leaders in wildlife care, veterinarian services and conservation Mr Stephen Van Mil.
Stephen's 40 plus years as a animal Vet and Founder and Board member for some of Australia's best loved and trusted organisations gives him a voice both of experience and understanding when it comes to wildlife care or services.
I thoroughly enjoyed my chat with him on some complex and sometimes political issues within the wildlife sector. Stephen remains a very grounded human who has found his calling years ago and polished his skills along the way.
A strong advocate for wildlife and conservation his organisations bring the best of the best to form groups in order to tackle the massive challenges we all face with the climate and extinction rates.
A educator and leader in his fields of choice and expertise, he always leaves his ego at the door and has a down to earth chat to highlight how you can get involved as well as issues faced within the sectors.
I have a lot of time and respect for Stephen and his team in their efforts and in regards to their passion for wildlife and the environment. Here at the Carrot Podcast we know you'll love this episode.
So enjoy listening and remember as always "Happiness and Kindness are a Choice"
You can reach Stephen and the team at www.byronbaywildlifehospital.org
G'Day Folks, todays episode is my chat with Rebecca Synott from WildLife VETS Australia. Rebecca and the team have embarked on a ground breaking Australian first mission to provide mobile hospital and triage capabilities in remote areas of Australia in times of need or crisis. These crisis can include, flood, fire, cyclone, virus or bacterial outbreaks, heat stress, drought, starvation or other such mass impact events.
Some people listening may be alarmed at the lack of such services within Australia and that the vets providing services are often doing so for free and at personal cost financially or emotionally.
This is a massive issue and requirement for Australia to fix with the effort to best serve our wildlife or wildlife carers particularly in remote areas with wanting or nil available vet services.
Rebecca and the team can be reached on email (rebeccasynott@gmail.com.au) should you wish to help or get involved in some format.
I challenge companies that can assist to step up and help all of those involved with such a critical pilot program and show you are a leader in your field.
Personally I love chatting with Rebecca and the team on many occasions and always feel a kinship that recharges my soul with their passion.
My thanks to Rebecca and the team for their time and permissions regarding this podcast. Im sure we will be doing follow ups on many other topics associated.
Remember folks "Happiness is a Choice" enjoy the podcast and your day
Matt
ps please subscribe and leave reviews to help us spread our important messages for the voiceless wildlife protection work all our teams and guests are doing.
G'Day Folks,
Todays episode is a chat with Anthony Lovell a wildlife Poet who crafts words and emotions into a mental picture on the love and challenges for animals.
Anthony chats openly about his journey from a outdoor childhood full of questions and hunger for knowledge with regards to nature, then to fall back in love with nature as time allowed.
Anthony speaks from his heart in his poems to your heart and mind.
I encourage everyone to search him out and drop him a message. Image a challenge of 1 million metres to represent the endangered animals at every single metre marker, this is a challenge before him.
Anthony brightens your world with his insides and view of the world we share, he creates mental images and challenges to your beliefs or comprehension of what's at stake. A true gentleman and wordsmith.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Anthony and hope you do.
G'day Folks, todays episode I have a chat with Laura Rywak our early childhood educator at HSO (Habitat Sanctuaries.Org) on the subject of the KTC programme and its practical use within a childcare or early education network / centre. Laura's passion for children and the environment are clearly evident in this discussion. She explains how the KTC (Kids That Care) meets all EYLF (early years learning framework), NQS (national quality standards) to ensure the programme is valid, positive and structured for real life centre needs.
G"Day folks, Todays episode is the creation of the new financial gold rush in the protection of the environment. Finally !! the environment is no longer a beggar of funds for protection but a method for investment and protection of the environment and endangered animals... forever... ? Sounds interetsting and like "pie in the sky" well its not, its the reality of investing in wild release point / permanent sanctuary lands with a output of O2 (oxygen) and sequestration of CO2. Today I give to real life case studies and maths on the tree program to create new sanctuaries and get a financial return for individual tree owners .... say what !!! yes well you might want to listen to this one.. as I believe Ill never do a more important podcast EVER.
G'Day folks from Habitat Sanctuaries Org and The Carrot Podcast Teams, We are excited to have you join us today, thanks for tuning in.
Today I describe the certification of "1Billion Trees Reforestation Effort" and answer questions on how it all works. How Is the 1 Billion Trees Campaign different to the hundreds of other tree planting programs.
What are the real and unique strengths to the Habitat Sanctuaries Org program and how does it benefit companies involved.
What would this partnering mean for your business and the future of the planet if you got active rather than sit on the sidelines.
The world has two lungs (one is blue "the oceans" and one is green "native vegetation) we are active in rebuilding the lungs of the planet.
Everyone shares this common need for functional lungs to exist: therefore your activity in protecting them is always positive and always caring for others.
"be the change you want" "One tree at a time"
Enjoy, be kind, be smart, be happy
Matt

Megan Potter Cosmetics is growing from strength to strength with the ethics and belief in the products that you will hear in this chat.
Megan Potter has joined forces to help plant 1 Billion Trees with Habitat Sanctuaries Org.
Its been a absolute pleasure to get to know them and during our research process for 1 Billion Tree Certification for their reforestation efforts.
I thoroughly enjoyed this chat as I have with all my other chats with Megan and Amanda, I know that they have some really cool stories and will feature again in more podcasts.
Megan Potter has a terrific customer retention rate and are forging a solid path moving forward, business minded, ethical and environmentally minded with a desire for constant and progressive improvement is my take away from this chat.
We welcome the Megan Potter team and Customers to the 1 Billion Tree Campaign.
I know you'll enjoy this discovery chat and can get some takeaways on business and life.
G'Day Folks, thanks for tuning in again and welcome to the new listeners.
This episode Matt talks about the obvious consciousness shift in the community toward environmental protection. About the humbling number of business that are getting involved in the 1 Billion Tree Campaign. In the second half we chat about being nominated for the Keeling Curve Award (International) 3-4 years running consecutively in regards to efforts to combat climate change.
Matt discusses that the tide has completely turned and that the "Social Tax" that subconsciously people hold for business and products is now a vocal one.
People no longer want to support poor business ethics and poor business manufacture or products at all.
At the Naturally Good 2022 expo the HSO team saw a massive upsurge in enquiry and care from the public and business in general with major players and companies stepping up.
"we cannot plant 1 Billion Trees without your partnerships and cooperations" thank you!!
Enjoy the Episode folks and please remember "you are the change you have been wanting to see"
Wow, 2022 just keeps giving, we are announcing tree commitment numbers from some business's that are part of the 1Billion Tree Campaign, A new standard of reforestation recognition for 1 BT participants.
Our partnership and funding of Ugandan Orphanages by partnering with New Life Child Fund Uganada.
Our future Gorilla Sanctuary in Uganda and Coyote Sanctuary in USA.
I must say these are the coolest announcements on any podcast we know of.
Join us in making a difference.
Well 2022 has seen some really cool announcement's for us at Habitat Sanctuaries Org., and the Carrot Podcast and this is another milestone for us to announce.
We are really pleased with the community involvement in our Coffee For A Cause (CFAC) Campaign that has been running for the last 18 months or so.
CFAC has had a team of Master Roasters Join us to bring expertise and experience to our new range of coffee beans (whole bean) as well as our grinds. This allows us to expand our ranges, blends and size offerings to you the community.
CFAC also now plants trees on two continents with a partnership in Uganda to protect forest, endangered animals there as well as "the coffee project Uganda" to establish community shared and co owned coffee farms to grow organic coffee beans with a ready market, allowing the community to develop and benefit first hand.
A really cool part of this is also a partnership with New Life Child Fund Uganda to buy the land and build new orphanages for the most vulnerable in society orphaned children.
So with a wide smile listen to the developments with CFAC and its impact now on two Continents, helping orphans, endangered animals and all over a cup of coffee.
We have loved the announcements so far in 2022 with a new sanctuary and now this Coffee Program, the seedling of a idea for Coffee For A Cause is now being felt around the world.
Thank you all and enjoy this episode :Matt
Happy Valentines Day to the Planet: Habitat Sanctuaries Org. is pleased to announce to the world a New Koala Sanctuary of 217 acres near the Barrington Tops National Parks, New South Wales, Australia. Its located around 3 hours North of Sydney and is pristine bushland. We believe the protected land will help in being a wild release and roaming sanctuary for Endangered koalas, as well as other native species in need.
As part of the 1 Billion trees campaign we will be replanting the land where required with food and habitat trees for Endangered Koalas and other native wildlife.
We could not think of a better Valentines gift for the planet than a new Endangered Animal Sanctuary for such a unique and iconic Australian Marsupial as the Koala.
This is exactly why we set up Habitat Sanctuaries and the 1x Billion Trees Campaign. To everyone that has been part of Habitat Sanctuaries or worked with us in any format or another : "You are part of this announcement" "You are why we get to announce this".
Thank You all and "Happy Valentines Day 2022" to the Planet
Matt and the Team from Habitat Sanctuaries.

G'Day listeners in this episode #18 we chat with Christo Hoppe the founder of Australian Watch Brand Bausele. We chat about entrepreneurship, Bausele watches story and work life balance in business. Christo and the team at Bausele are involved in the 1x Billion tree campaign with a significant commitment of 19,600 trees over two years or over one tree per hour for two years....
Talk about a business that has a desire to see impact and change.
Christo's detail into the limited edition watch runs is significant where he details how they use parts from the first F18 fighter jet in a Centenary watch created for the RAF (Royal Australian Airforce). This was a fun chat with a person I really enjoy having around, therefore I know you will enjoy the Bausele story as well. Thanks for listening and remember, be safe, be smart, be kind to yourself and others.
We at the Carrot Podcast had a BIG WIN for a policy change within the "Pay As You GO" sector.
After Episode#12 went to air we were contacted by the team at ZipPay and they worked with Habitat Sanctuaries.Org in changing the policy and assisting HSO to get approval internally for a Pay As You GO service for the online stores and our retail side. Why is this a victory? well that's how a lot of social enterprise or charity groups raise funds through Merchandise and stock sales. With the global economy going online and P.A.Y.G. services overtaking credit cards, well this gap in the system or poor policy made it a restriction on charity or social enterprise retail.
We are pleased to say thank you to the team at ZipPay for changing such a silly policy and stepping up to the mark. Lifting the bar on services and retail for groups like HSO that need vital sales to continue the good work for the wider community.
(insert round of applause here) for the industry change lead by ZipPay with this one simple move ..... Well done! Matt
This episode Matt introduces you to the international "Koala Nose Day" , Where you can get involved in a fun day helping Endangered Wildlife through the wearing your Koala Nose Face Mask to help raise awareness and funds to create more protected sanctuary lands.
The more face masks we can sell the more impact we can have ... please get involved share the social media posts and links.
If you want to help even more download our pdf from the website and share those to your database, customers or print them and put them on the counter top near your cash register at work or reception, stick it in the window as well.
The QR code will direct people to the shop so they can get involved as well.
Every Face Mask makes a difference and helps our goals of planting 1x billion trees inside protected sanctuary lands.
www.habitatsanctuaries.org
There are also some really cool giveaways like a electric bike, years free coffee and more ....
G'day listeners, this podcast is a raw interview and a emotional one with Mark Aldridge from WillowWood Sanctuaries in South Australia.
We wish to advise some listeners may find this episode confronting and may bring back experiences of the fires. If you are a person that may still be recovering from your fire experiences please use your best judgment and maybe listen with a friend.
If you wanted to ever have a honest chat with a rescuer on some of their experiences this will be of interest and worth the time to hear it to the end.
Mark is a well respected animal rescue guy alongside his wife and friends whom all share a common bond for animal rescue and welfare.
This episode is about individuals who are willing to put their own time and welfare aside to help injured or in need animals.
The experiences of such individuals are worth hearing as are the difficulties rescuers face with bureaucracy, legislation or support.
The 2019-2021 fires highlighted many flaws and issues in collaboration between organisations and bodies of people from all sides.
But it's now important to discuss these issues and experiences before the next major emergency.
These are uncomfortable discussions with so many emotions and financial issues, but we need to open discussions into the welfare of the animals first, then politics and power plays second.
We look forward to furthering these type of rescue discussions from real feet on the ground experiences in order to educate and highlight that cooperation is needed and egos need to be left outside the discussion room.
"Thank you Mark for your open and honest discussion" Matt

This episode is a social challenge to the 113 x Buy now and Pay Later systems available in Australia, it has come to our attention that when we researched the ability to offer these Buy Now Pay Later Services - not one of them that we could find has a charity or Social purpose business on their website for merchandise sales for "you the customer" to support with merchandise purchases for simple things like Tee shirts, hoodies, tooth brushes.
We found these things available through big business or franchise stores online or in-store, but not for charity or social enterprise business.
So we offer a open challenge for buy now pay later schemes to back charities and social enterprise business, we researched 113 x of these schemes in Australia and found 1 x Fireman Calendar available as a buy now and pay later.
We offer a challenge to the Executives to support social enterprises and charity stores in regards to conventional merchandise sales to customers, we extend this social challenge to our listeners to find out if "their favourite buy now and pay later" schemes have their favourite charity or social enterprise merchandise available for them to shop?
If they do not offer you the choice to support your favourite social enterprise or charity that is acting on a cause you believe in passionately then contact them and your help your social group to be able to raise their revenues.
If you are a Buy Now and Pay Later scheme in Australia that supports social enterprise Merch. sales ... we invite you to speak up.

In this chat we cover many areas of self reliance and self awareness through to a awakening that was strong enough to change everything.
Roberta is a testament for all people in fields of work that are awakening to a better practice mentality, but then to back that awareness completely to make a positive change.
I really enjoyed this chat with Roberta and the strength of personality to make a change for the betterment of all. Enjoy folks .
