These next episodes are a little different. They are short episodes, just with me (no guests this time!) and they will be the final two episodes of the Fertile Mindset Podcast. The podcast will still be here, and you'll be able to listen back to the whole library of 94 episodes but these are the final two to be released, and during these episodes I'm going to be explaining why I’ve come to this decision.
I begin here with the three core values of Fertile Mindset - clarity, purpose and joy - why clarity is so important, the surprising outcome that can arise when we pursue clarity for ourselves, and how this can be unsettling.
I’ll be sharing my “clarity moment” in the next episode, but this one is for you with a powerful message and call to action for you and your big and beautiful life.
I hope you enjoy this short episode, recorded for you with love xx
Next steps:
It’s been a month since I last released an episode, and not only is this episode a very special one that I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you for a while - it’s also my last guest episode on the podcast. There will be a couple more episodes released, where I’m going to share some updates and my plans for the future of Fertile Mindset, because my life and my work are going through some quite significant changes, hence why I haven’t been so present on the podcast or on social media recently. However, there’s one place you will still hear from me - almost every day - and that is in my Daily Seeds emails. So if you haven’t signed up yet, and would like to receive my daily messages of support and inspiration direct to your inbox, as well as being on my mailing list for news and special offers, then do sign up at www.fertilemindset.com/dailyseeds.
I’m sorry to be a tease and hint at big changes, but not actually tell you yet what those changes are. I promise it’s coming very soon. I’m working everything out right now, so that I can move forward with a version of Fertile Mindset that works for me, my family, and you, and everyone who follows me and works with me. I appreciate you all so much that I want to make sure I’m getting this right, before I make the announcement. So, look out for the next two - which will be the final two - episodes of the Fertile Mindset Podcast where I will be very open and clear with you. I want to thank you so much for being here, and being a listener and supporter of the podcast.
This episode is with someone I’ve known for around 10 years. She first came to me as a client for support on her fertility journey, and has taken a path through life that is nothing short of remarkable, becoming a best selling children’s author with her first book soon to be turned into a movie. Let me introduce you to Hannah Gold.
Hannah grew up in a family where books, animals, and the beauty of the outside world were ever present, and is now passionate about writing children's stories that share her love of the planet. Her debut, The Last Bear, was a Sunday Times bestseller and won a number of national and international awards, including the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and the Blue Peter Book Award in 2022. She is also the author of The Lost Whale, Finding Bear and the recently released Turtle Moon which was another instant best seller.
Hannah's books have sold over 250,000 copies in the UK alone, and been translated into 27 languages around the world. She is an ambassador for Whale and Dolphin Conservation, and lives in Lincolnshire with her tortoise and her husband.
I loved this conversation with Hannah because we talked in depth about how her fertility journey led to her author journey, and the depth of her writing that has been enhanced by her life experiences including infertility. Her books are very special, and whether you have children in your life or not, I encourage you to read them for yourself, and feel the magic of her beautiful adventure books about animals, the natural world and the moving stories of the people in her books too. I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation, and if you want to explore your own life’s path just as Hannah did with me, in EFT coaching sessions, then send me an email at mail@fertilemindset.com and I’d love to have a chat with you.

Today’s guest is Jo Hodson, who lives in a van that she designed herself, while travelling and working wherever she chooses. It was so inspiring to hear her speak about how she lives her life completely on her terms.
Before Jo embarked on full-time van life she lived in the next town to me and we have several mutual friends. When I heard she had converted a Ford Transit van and this was now her home I was intrigued and started following her journey on Instagram. I quickly became hooked and I love to check her daily stories where she shares the highs and lows of van life, as well as breathtaking photos of the gorgeous places she travels to and calls home for a while.
This conversation with Jo was raw and authentic and shows us another way to live that isn’t conventional but may well just feel ‘right’ for some. I hope you enjoy listening, and that Jo inspires you to live your life with more clarity and authenticity - whether that’s in a van or not!
Within this conversation Jo talked about her two instagram accounts and whether she would keep them both. Since recording she has now decided to have just one account, which is where you can follow both her brilliant van life stories and hear about her business and work too. The new name of her account to follow is @iamjohodson

I have known Jessica for many years, since working with her at her fertility arts event, Fertility Fest. Since then Jessica’s life has taken many twists and turns, through losses and heartache, and she has both adventured and written her way through. Jessica’s three books are all favourites of mine, and I was inspired to invite her on to the podcast after attending the launch of her newest book - her best yet - Save Me From the Waves.
Jessica Hepburn is an award-winning author, arts producer and adventure activist who has become one of the UK’s leading voices on fertility and family as well as a pioneer in inspiring people to live big and bravely when life doesn’t go to plan, and championing the benefits of going on adventures to improve your physical and mental health. Formerly Executive Director of the Lyric Hammersmith – one of London’s leading theatres – Jessica led from inception to completion the theatre’s £20m capital redevelopment and was nominated as ‘Theatre Manager of the Year’. Whilst doing this, she was also trying to become a mother and went through eleven rounds of IVF at a range of UK fertility clinics which resulted in multiple miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy that almost took her life. She turned to exercise and adventure to heal her heartbreak and in 2022, she became the first woman in the world to achieve ‘The Sea, Street, Summit Challenge’ – which was swimming the English Channel, running the London Marathon and summiting Mount Everest.
Jessica has been nominated as one of Amnesty International’s ‘Women of Suffragette Spirit’; and a 'Woman to Watch' in 2024 by Woman & Home Magazine.
I was delighted to have Jessica join me on the podcast, and I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation. And once you’ve listened, if you haven’t done so already, do read Jessica’s books. They are beautifully crafted emotional stories of life, love, loss and of course adventure.

I loved having this conversation with Rosie after we first met at one of her nature-focused day retreats. The retreat was a birthday present from my husband, and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as soon as I arrived and saw the beautiful setting Rosie had created, I knew it would be a special day!
Rosie is the co-founder of Wild Ivy Retreats, a sanctuary dedicated to fostering community and nurturing a deeper sense of self through meaningful connections with nature. Their retreats and events offer guided meditations, foraging experiences, nourishing food, creative workshops, and a strong sense of community. Rosie is passionate about helping people find stillness and create space for their minds to rest, guiding them on a journey to inner peace and rejuvenation.
I loved hearing more about Rosie’s story, how she came to create Wild Ivy Retreats, and what this work means to her. I hope you enjoy listening too, and it inspires you to not only get out in nature but also to notice what lights you up and consider how you can follow your own passions too.

I met Janey through our mutual friends, and I have enjoyed getting to know her and learn about her eclectic career, which now has a big focus on alcohol-free living. Janey is so passionate about this topic, especially because she approaches it from the perspective of “grey area drinking”, that I think many of us can relate to.
Janey Lee Grace is a life coach trained in NLP, EFT, Matrix and Family Constellations therapy, plus sobriety and health coaching. She runs a community called The Sober Club and offers 1-1 coaching and group sessions. Formerly she was a broadcaster best known as a co-host on Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC Radio 2. She is the author of five books on holistic living including two number-one Amazon best sellers. Janey has a BA Hons degree in Performance Arts, was a backing singer with WHAM! and had a Top Ten hit with Cola Boy in 1991.
I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation which takes us on a journey through Janey’s professional and personal life, which is both fascinating and inspiring, showing us that we can find our purpose and ways to support others through our own life experiences and learnings.

Model Strangers is one of my favourite accounts to follow on Instagram. The videos are beautiful snippets of human life and interaction, and the community that it has created is so positive and heartwarming. Knowing that this was one person’s project, which seemed like a pursuit of their purpose, I knew that I had to invite Chris to the podcast. I was delighted when he accepted my invitation and I really enjoyed this ‘behind the scenes’ conversation where we talk about how and why Model Strangers got started and learn more about this amazing project which has a rapidly growing following.
Christopher Ward was born in South Africa and now lives in Northern Ireland. He’s a wedding videographer and photographer who decided just last year to try something different. He'd been feeling creatively unfulfilled for a long time and wanted to explore a new project that would showcase humanity. The result is Model Strangers, now with over 700k followers on Instagram.
I hope you enjoy my conversation with Chris and feel inspired by how he has brought purpose into his life in a very creative way.

Welcome back to the Fertile Mindset podcast! After a long break from podcasting, in this announcement, I’m sharing some important updates about the evolution of Fertile Mindset and the exciting changes ahead.
Over the past 20 years of supporting people on their fertility journeys, I’ve noticed how the stress and emotions tied to fertility issues can ripple through every aspect of life. And how many of us want to live happy and meaningful lives, whether on a fertility journey or at another stage in life. This has inspired me to broaden the support I offer, and to focus on three exciting and transformative themes…
Listen to today’s ‘BIG Announcement’ to learn more, and be sure to return next week and every Thursday for the all new Fertile Mindset Podcast. I’m excited to share this new chapter of my support with you!

This podcast is the last episode in this current series of conversations with some really lovely guests. I’ve enjoyed recording these for you, and I’ve gained and learned a lot myself from each and every one.
Today’s is particularly special as Nicola is someone I have known for a very long time. We first met over 30 years ago when we were in the same class at school. Then we were at college together on the same course. And then years later we got back in touch through the magic of social media, Nicola was retraining in nutrition and coaching, and transitioning away from a corporate role and into the work, she is truly meant to be doing. Nicola has an affinity with the experience of grief, drawing on her own losses and bringing in all her skills to support this inevitable part of the human experience.
Grief is something that is rarely talked about in relation to fertility and infertility, and I believe we need to talk about it, acknowledge it and bring it out into the open. So that’s what Nicola and I did in this episode and I hope it brings you a deeper understanding of how you may be feeling, and some comfort too.

In this episode, I’m sharing a conversation with Jen Edmonds. I first got to know Jen when she was on her own fertility journey. She was a Fertile Mindset client and used EFT / Tapping with me to support her through her emotional challenges. Jen said that EFT blew her mind with how effective it was, which was also her experience of discovering Fertility Yoga. Since then, and since Jen has happily had her two children, she now supports others on a fertility journey with her unique approach to Fertility Yoga. Jen says that Fertility Yoga is so much more than the work you do on the mat. I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation with Jen, and I’m delighted to share with you that Jen is a contributor to my soon to be released Budget Friendly Fertility Bundle, which is a fabulous bundle of resources that will be on sale next week. Jen’s online fertility yoga program is included, along with lots of other support for every aspect of your fertility. It’s not on sale yet, but I’ll be sharing on Facebook and Instagram when it is, and I’ll add the link below when it’s on sale too. We’re receiving new contributions every day from some of the most knowledgeable and empathic people in the fertility world, so make sure you check out the Budget Friendly Fertility Bundle next week.

This episode with Kristin, who is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and neural retraining specialist, was fascinating and we did a deep dive into the impact of stress on health and wellness, including fertility health. Kristin focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness and infertility and supports the body’s natural ability to achieve healing and balance when provided the right conditions. With advanced training in functional lab testing and interpretation, nutritional counselling, and mind-body therapies, Kristin provides a whole person approach to health and fertility which you are going to hear about in this episode. I love that at the end Kristin includes lots of practical ideas on how to rewire the brain and body’s stress response, and one I was very happy to hear her recommend is EFT. You can learn more about this amazing technique by listening to episode 20 here. On that episode, you’ll hear me say that the doors to my membership the Fertile Mindset Sanctuary are closing, but the good news is that it is now always open to new members. So if after listening and learning about how helpful EFT can be for emotional support and healing you’d like to join us, then you can do that right now at www.fertilemindset.com/sanctuary
Now let’s get on to today’s episode to hear Kristin talk about the Stress and Fertility Link.

On this first podcast of 2023 I’m speaking with EFT Master and co-founder of the EFT Centre in London, Emma Roberts. Almost 20 years ago when I was a newly qualified EFT practitioner, Emma’s own specialism in fertility support was a key part of my education and exploration into this topic. In fact, attending a training session on Fertility EFT led by Emma was a pivotal moment for me in specialising in fertility for the last two decades. It was wonderful to talk more with Emma about what a powerful technique EFT is and the many ways it can make a positive difference when facing fertility issues or any other challenging moments in life.

This episode features the lovely Emily Ginn who I got to know a couple of years ago when the Clubhouse live chat app was launched. In the fertility support chat rooms, I heard Emily speaking with a depth of true understanding about the mindset side of fertility. Then as Emily and I were on such a similar wavelength, we shared many chat rooms on Clubhouse. More recently I was a guest on her brilliant podcast IVF This. And now here we are, continuing our chat on my podcast now about all things mindset! I really loved where this conversation took us, exploring the difference between happiness and mindset, and why it’s more important to work on mindset.
Here’s what is included in this episode:
On the podcast today, I’m talking with Kate Codrington about her new book Second Spring and her passion for supporting women before, during and after menopause. You may wonder what place menopause has on a fertility podcast. But with more women trying for babies when they are peri or post-menopausal, often with donor treatment, I believe it’s important to have these conversations.
Kate has always been a passionate supporter and advocate for women, and her new book, Second Spring, has a really refreshing focus on self-care through menopause. I was so pleased that Kate was up for this conversation, which I believe really needs to be happening for everyone who is trying for a baby at this time in their lives.
Kate will also be joining us in the Fertile Mindset Sanctuary for a live chat with our members. If you’re not a member yet, then we’d love you to join us for this chat with Kate and also to plug into lots of amazing support for the emotional aspects of fertility. I’ve spoken with Maria before on her podcast and we had such a great conversation that it planted the seeds in my imagination for this podcast to be created. Now on our 74th episode, I’m welcoming Dr Maria Rothenburger who is a fertility counsellor, coach, best-selling author and intuitive. In this episode, you’ll hear about her own path to parenthood and the journey this took her on both in her own life and in the way she supports others in her work. I really loved the perspective Maria brought to the more spiritual side of fertility, from her science-based background and training, and I hope you love listening in too.
Maria will also be joining us in my private membership group, the Fertile Mindset Sanctuary, to continue this interesting conversation. If you’re already a member, do look out for your invite to the live chat with Maria. And if you’re not yet a member of the Sanctuary, do come over and join us. At her natural health clinic, The Pagoda Tree in Melbourne, Australia she has helped over 20,000 women rescue their hormones and reclaim their best life.
I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Nat several times before, when she shared her extensive knowledge about natural fertility, hormones and women’s health, but this time I got to do a deep dive with Nat into the mindset aspects of fertility. It was fascinating to hear Nat’s insights into the importance of mindset and how this has evolved the support she gives in her clinic.

It’s my birthday today, and as I turn 45 it feels like a good time to talk about age and how it can impact thoughts, feelings, and beliefs around fertility. Age is a big thing when you’re trying for a baby, isn’t it? You may have always had in mind the ‘ideal age’ to have a baby. If you’re now trying for a baby at a later time, you can feel the pressure of time. Adding in the statistics that are often quoted by fertility clinics and the media around age, and we are surrounded by so much negativity. This podcast explores the impact of our thoughts and beliefs around age and fertility, and gives you some simple steps to turn this around to an empowered and motivated mindset.
Here’s what is included in this episode:

Secondary infertility is one of the less talked about fertility issues, but definitely needs acknowledgment, conversations around it, and support too. Secondary infertility is when you find it difficult to get pregnant or stay pregnant when you try for a second or subsequent baby. For some, this is a continuation of the fertility issues they had when they first tried for a baby, and may mean going through the same steps and the same treatment as they did the first time. It can also strike for the first time when you’re trying for a subsequent baby after an easy, natural conception before. And this can be equally puzzling as you think back to the first experience of trying for a baby that was so easy and straightforward, and wonder why it’s not happening this time.

For emotional support to make a real positive difference to you and your experience of your fertility journey, it needs to always be present and to be consistent. And it also needs to be realistic and easy to step into. On the podcast today I take you through three steps, with 3 questions and the answers will give you your own emotional support plan.

In this conversation, we also talk about our mutual love of the technique EFT, how she used it herself, and now in her coaching.

At the heart of all the mindset and emotional support I offer at Fertile Mindset is an amazingly effective technique called EFT. It’s brilliant at soothing stress and releasing any and all negative emotions, thoughts and beliefs. There’s just one problem though; it looks a bit weird!! EFT involves using your own fingertips to tap on points on the face, head, hands and upper body to release stress and rebalance our emotional state. The tapping means that most people prefer to tap in private, but there are huge benefits to tapping in public too! Whether or not you feel brave enough to use EFT in public, have a listen to this episode and be curious about how tapping anytime, anywhere could be a game changer for your emotional health and wellbeing.

Welcome to the first episode of the Fertile Mindset Podcast in 2022. Although we’re almost a week into the new year now, I’d like to wish you a Happy New Year and also acknowledge how you may be feeling. When you’re on a fertility journey the new year can be a time for a renewed focus and energy, maybe making new plans or taking new steps, and it can also be an overwhelming time when you’re not sure what to focus on. The temptation is there to use the fresh start of a new year to take lots of action, but this doesn’t always feel good and may not be a good approach for you and your fertility.

This episode is to help you create your own perfect Christmas, protect yourself in challenging situations, and rediscover the joy of the season. Rachel Bolton from Plan Yourself Pregnant was my first guest on the Fertile Mindset Podcast back in episode 3 which was released on our launch day on 1st January 2021. Rachel recently invited me into her lovely Fertility Heroes group on Facebook a couple of weeks ago, and we had a conversation about all things mindset and why it’s a vital part of a fertility journey. It was a really lovely chat about both of our approaches to mindset work in relation to fertility. I think you’d like to listen to it too, so I was thrilled when Rachel sent me the recording to share with you, my wonderful podcast listeners! We talk about so much here, and there’s such a synergy in the way that we support people on a fertility journey. I hope you enjoy listening and find some useful support for you within our conversation.

While I was having a tidy up of my audio files, I came across this talk from an event I ran a few years ago called Your Empowered Path to Parenthood. In this talk, I share how it’s important to feel empowered on your fertility journey, and the 3 steps you can take to go from feeling out of control and disempowered - which is a common place to get to, especially when your trying to conceive has been medicalised - and get back to feeling strong and empowered, and having ownership of your fertility once more. I hope you enjoy listening and putting the 3 steps into action.

It can feel impossible to stay strong during a long and challenging path to parenthood. You may think of yourself as a strong person, but fertility issues can truly test our limits. As each month passes and you’re still not pregnant, you may ask yourself “How much more of this can I take?”.
When people contact me for one-to-one support they tell me that they feel like they want to give up, but there’s also a contrasting need to keep going on their fertility journey. Does that sound familiar to you?
This is when a fertility journey can turn into a difficult uphill struggle, which takes every ounce of your strength and resilience. If you feel you’re running on empty and you’re not sure how to keep going, then the tips I’m going to share in this podcast on how to find strength are for you.

As an adoptive mother myself, the topic of this podcast episode is close to my heart. Have you ever been asked, “why don’t you just adopt?” This is one of those unhelpful pieces of advice given by people who don’t have much, or perhaps any, understanding of what it’s like to have fertility issues. It seems that once they find out that’s what you’re dealing with, they feel compelled to say something as ridiculous as “why don’t you just adopt?”. In this episode, I share my own thoughts on adoption which I hope you find helpful, whether you are currently considering adoption or maybe just want to have it in the background as an option for now.

On the podcast today I’m sharing a talk I gave a few years back at an event called Fertility at 40+. However what I share here could apply to anyone facing fertility issues, whatever their age.
When we think of the emotional side of fertility, most of us will think first of the stress related to fertility challenges. But there are many ways our emotions, thoughts and beliefs can impact our fertility journey, and in this episode, I share three key areas which I believe most people will benefit from addressing.

When I talk about the idea of a stress-free fertility journey there are a range of reactions from disbelief to hope or excitement about the possibility. How would it feel to eliminate or dramatically reduce stress from a fertility journey? When we think of taking care of our mindset and emotional wellbeing on a fertility journey, we often think of reducing stress and releasing negative emotions. But there is one emotion that probably was present when you first started to try for your baby, and when you focus on reconnecting with it can make the biggest positive difference to your experience of your fertility journey and life as a whole. This emotion is JOY!

There’s a worry that isn’t often talked about but is present for many people I speak to who are on a long fertility journey. It’s that nagging feeling or question: ‘Will I be a good parent?’. The extra time that it takes us to conceive our babies and finally become parents gives time and space for this worry to flourish and take hold. Of course it’s natural to want to be a good parent, but this episode talks about why and how this question can create obstacles on your path to parenthood, and how to feel confident that you WILL be a good parent!

When you’ve been trying for a baby for a while and you go to see a doctor for tests and investigations to find out why, the hope is that a reason will be found and a solution given. But this isn’t the outcome for up to 30% of people, who are told that there is no apparent reason for their fertility struggles. They are given the non-diagnosis of “unexplained infertility”. Our reaction to this news and our next steps are so important, and I hope this podcast gives you the support and direction you need.
