Mixed lineups on a Friday with fifteen minute pieces rating at low twenties. Forty five seconds on, fifteen seconds off. This boat ended up being the fastest eight on the water that day. I find that it’s so much easier to get hype for fast eights. was nice to finish off the week with some good speed.
Mixed eights doing three minute pieces at a 24 and 26. Last two pieces of the day. This boat was one of the slower boats all day but fought hard in the last two pieces. I messed up by adding a pause right before the build on the second piece. I'm pretty happy with myself for sounding this energetic for such low rate pieces.
Mixed lineups with low rates sixes and some eights rowing. Fifteen minutes of work. First section pausing sixes at stretch position, then continuous. Noticing that I waited to up the intensity until the last minute. Need to work on slowly building the intensity in my tone over a longer period of time. Loving the “yea” calls from stroke seat.
Pilot Episode. This recording is a snippet of the end of practice last week. Our boat struggled to stay competitive with the other 3 eights that day and this is our last segment of practice. Mixed lineups. I tried my best to keep my tone optimistic and to keep the crew motivated even though we were in last place.
