This message about honoring God with our lives and taking a hard look in the mirror. It can become an habit of pointing fingers at everyone else as an excuse as to why we are the way we are. We have to take responsibility for ourselves as to why we are the way we are. The only person who can change us is we ourselves. Stop blaming others and do the work to become "ANEW You".#christian #christianity #lent #faith #hope #newlife #Christ #God

Loving Yourself
Are you loving to yourself?
Love yourself, you are who you are now accept it! Stop hating on yourself and love you. People will treat you how you treat yourself. If you don’t respect yourself, how do you expect others to respect you. Take some timemfor yourself. Go get your hair done, your nails or feet. Go and get a massage or go someone where you will be appreciated. Buy yourself a dress and get dressed up. Put on some makeup and look in the mirror and do some love talk to yourself. Affirm yourself in the Lord!
When our understanding of love is immature, it is usually a sign that there is a breach in our identity from somewhere in our past. The journey of healing our past is a journey of first, identifying the areas we have been wounded; second, forgiving ourselves and those who have wounded us; next, we must deal with shame, regret and fear.
Finally, once we have dealt with those things, we can begin to walk into our authentic self. Our Authentic Self is who God created us to be, our strengths and weaknesses, free from trauma and pain. "Love endures with patience and serenity - with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love," Ephesians 4:2.
I Corinthians 13:4-7
We usually use this chapter to see if we are treating others in love but today we are looking at do we treat ourselves in love. We were all made to walk in love and we were made to walk in wholeness. In order for us to do that, we must heal aspects of our past so that we can step into the future. Wilt thou be made whole. When we don’t love who we are, appreciate who we are and accept who we are we create a false image of ourselves.
God loves you and he is waiting on you to rise above it whatever it is.

Healing from the Pain of Regret
Healing from the pain of regret. What is regret? It means feeling sad or disappointed over something that has happened or was done. Being regretful is usually not the same as being repentant because the word repent means to turn away from it. Most of us really don’t mean it when we say we repent of a thing because we have no plans of turning away from it. It’s really just regretting. We allow that thing to haunt us. We allow the situation to freeze us or paralyze us, but we really have it turn away. My God my God!
You have not turned away from the last thing that has caused you harm. Jesus when we're dealing with regret we have a feeling of deep sorrow, deep disappointment concerning something that has happened to us or something that someone has done. You can even slip into a depression because of regret. It could be a loss or even a missed opportunity. A lot of us are living in places of regret because of something we either miss out on or something that was done to us.
There is a lot of pain concerning missed opportunities, wrong decisions, wrong relationships, in wrong friendships that we step into that are rooted in regret. One of the things about the trauma of the past is that the enemy uses it as one of his main tools. The enemy lives in the past and godly lives in the future. The reason the enemy lives in our past is because he can only rehash what we give him. He does not have any ammo or anything else to use against us. He is waiting always observing and looking at our past to find something to use against us. He cannot live in the future because he’s not the omniscient or all-knowing God. He just looks for clues.
The journey of healing our past is a journey of first, identifying the areas we have been wounded; forgiving ourselves and those who have wounded us, we must deal with the shame, regret and fear. Once we have dealt with those things we can begin to walk into our authentic self. Our authentic self is who we were created to be, our strengths, and our weaknesses, free from trauma and pain.

How to Grow in Being Yourself
Spend time with God, he made you and he knows who you should be. He knows all about you.
Take time to think about why you think the way you think, why you dress the way you dress, why you talk the way you talk, why you act the way you act
and why you like what you like.
Become aware of your areas of strength: What are you good at? What do people come to you for? What makes you feel alive?
Be okay with the areas you have to work on. What areas do you struggle with and what are things that can make you be a more loving, kind and fun person
to be around.
Process the pain in your personality; either a result of overcoming pain or are you masking it.
Be proud of your accomplishments.
Be present with whom you are. Ask yourself where am I and where am I going.
Deal with regrets, fears and anything that can hold you to your past; deal with it.
Study what healthy, normal friendships and relationships look like. This helps us find genuine people we can be ourselves around.
Be vulnerable, do not be afraid to allow people to see all of who you are and who you are becoming.

Healing the Shame
Shame is another thing that we have to get rid of in order to grow authentically and heal our past. We must be vulnerable in order to deal with shame. We cannot share ourselves if we don’t deal with shame, when we show who we are including our weaknesses and strengths we never have to struggle with shame again.
Did you hear that? When we show who we really are, when we show those scars, those emotional wounds, those life experiences we are ashamed of we will never have to struggle with shame again. That is a liberating feeling! That is what freedom feels like; no more shame holding me, I’m no longer bound, hallelujah praise the Lord, I am free.
Isn’t this what Adam and Eve did in the beginning? After they ate the fruit, their eyes were opened and they hid from God. How can you hide from God? We can’t hide from the creator but what God is calling us to do is to stop hiding. To come from behind those bushes, to take the mask off and let the shame go.
In order to heal shame, we must forgive ourselves and let it go. As you let go of that shame, then you can begin to heal your past.

How to Become Authentically You
You must be vulnerable; this is hard to do when you are terrified of being judged. We have given our power away because we are more worried about how someone will see us than how God views us. We just need to get over ourselves. When we are vulnerable, we are able to open up and allow people to see us; not just the neat areas of our lives, but even the areas we are working on overcoming.
We all have something that we are working on. Things like shame, guilt and fear are no longer hold us back from being honest about our process. When you are honest and vulnerable you can work on what you have been putting off. You may have heard me say it before and I’m going to say it again and I’m going to keep saying it. Jesus carried all of the fear, shame and guilt on the cross. It is too heavy for us to bear. God never intended for us to carry it. So, we should lighten our load and move forward. The longer we hold on to it whatever it is; the longer it takes for us to be the real you. As we grow, we become less afraid of being honest with our emotions. One of the biggest issues is that most people think that being vulnerable is going to cause pain, betrayal or fear.
We say things like we gotta keep it together but the truth is that the more vulnerable we are about where we are in our lives; the more meaningful our relationships are going to be.

How to Become Authentic by Being Honest
If we aren’t going to be honest with ourselves that will be an hinderance to our healing. We must be authentically ourselves and tell the truth. Alright so let’s go over some of the ways that we begin to emerge into our authentic selves and grow into who the Lord has called us to be. First thing first, honesty. We must be honest with ourselves, we must be honest about our issues, pains and triggers. We have to take time to really look at what bothers us about our lives. What is hurting us, the things that make us slip into shame or guilt?
Answer the questions like: What makes me angry? What makes me sad? In order to heal we must acknowledge the things we love about ourselves and the things we do not like. Honesty is a doorway to being authentic. Authenticity implies the lack of an attempt to control other people’s perceptions of us. So what authenticity means is that we are not going to work hard to control how people see us. We are not going to live our lives by putting on a show so that we can control how people see us. Are you guilty of putting on a show for others? Try to make sure it is what we want them to see and not who we really are. However, that’s not our responsibility; our responsibility is to feed our authentic selves who God has called us to be. Healing from the past means healing from people’s perceptions of who we used to be.

Who Are You?
In order to be healed from what you have experienced you have to ask yourself a question. Who am I? When it comes to healing our past, we have to look at who are we really. We have to take a look at ourselves and how we view ourselves; how we view others and heal the emotions that are connected to the experiences that cause us pain. It is one thing to recognize where we need to grow but another to recognize the work that needs to be done. Healing requireshonesty, it requires authenticity and it requires transparency.
Have you ever said the following: I’m okay, I’ll be all right, I’m not even going to say anything, they know what they did, they know they hurt me or I’ll get over it in time? So much time has gone by and you are still in that same place of no resolve; a place of no peace. To become healthy, whole spiritually and emotionally is to get to the core of who you really are. When regret, shame and pain of the past are erased out of our site our authentic selves begin to emerge. So if you are in that place of pain today your true self has not emerged yet because you haven’t healed yet. A clue that our past is being healed and we can begin to show up, even more, is when we become truthful. That is the antidote and key to the pain, the shame and the guilt.
When you can just let it go, get it out and say here I am, this is me handling my past requires that I am honest and authentic with myself and others.

The Process
We are all growing and maturing in our emotions, decisions and opinions. For those of us who are Christians there is a clear path and direction in how we are to respond in difficulties, experiences, accusations, trials and moments of being misunderstood. We all must go through a process and in this we examine ourmotives, emotions and reactions to see where we need to change and grow. Let’s look at how someone who is perfecting or maturing in love thinks in certainsituations versus someone who is underdeveloped in their love.
When faced with conflict
In misunderstandings
In accusations
In betrayal
In communication
When we experience a loss, brokenness, transition or even betrayal, it is important that we do not rush through the pain, but allow ourselves to feel it. We needto be aware of it. Our ability to feel pain allows us to be able to love deeper; we love harder. When we mask it, we begin to develop inauthentic love whichleads to surface relationships.
The processing, crushing, making, molding, shifting, humbling, squeezing, the pressures of life and the decisions we have to make. Are we going to walk in mature love or will we do what babies do? Will we point fingers, will we complain, will we look for an escape from the process or will we just grow through it toget to the other side. Thereby maturing in our love.
We must unlearn what we thought was love. We must allow God to go deep. We must be willing to do the hard work so we can perfect our love, so we can mature. How do we grow in our love?
Do I say I don’t care? When we do this we gradually allow ourselves to not be able to feel love. Our love will never be full because it will always be wondering if the pain is around the corner. This will prevent us from fully giving of ourselves and allowing others in our life.

A Maturing in Love
We can only really understand love if we understand the originator of it. Scientists and Psychologists who do not believe in creation theory believe that we evolved gradually. They say love is an innate desire that is in every human being and that it grows out of our need to be loved. While this is true, perfect love does not come out of a need to be loved, it comes from the desire we have to love. Everyone has a desire to be loved, but we also have a desire to love. If this was not true, we would not do the things we have done to earn the love of a friend, our parents, potential mates. Think about some of the crazy things you did as a teenager because you thought you were in love. Then our hearts got broken because we did things for love. Scripture lays out clearly what love should look like. John 3:16 and I Corinthians 13:4-6 Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. God exhorts us to love one another deeply because God is love, treat others as ourselves but what happens when our understanding of love is murky?

You may be asking yourself how does love help me to heal? How do I conquer my past emotional trauma? I have to look inwardly at myself before I look outward. When we check our love meter we can see where we have been immature in our love. Our society confuses love and lust. Unlike lust, God’s kind of love is directed outward toward others, not inward toward ourselves. It is utterly unselfish. This kind of love goes against our natural inclinations. It is impossible to have this kind of love unless God helps us set aside our own natural desires so that we can love without expecting anything in return. We can’t manufacturethis kind of love when we don’t feel it. We gain it only through the Holy Spirit according to Romans 5:5) “Now hope does not disappoint, because the loveof God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” We never love perfectly; only Jesus can. Thus, the more we becomelike Christ, the more love we will show to others.
What Does Love Look Like? Let’s look at I Corinthians 13:4-7 (Love Meter Chart)

Your enemy isn't the person you live with, the person who has harmed or offended us. Our enemy is one who we can't see but we can see the spirit in operation working through others. Sometimes the enemy is in our minds and souls but we have to confront our enemy once and for all. Let's be honest with ourselves so we can truly be free. This is an encore! Sometimes we can think that we are so smart, we have it under control or we will figure it out. It's plainly in our face but we don't acknowledge it. It's not the other person! It the you or it's the devil. It's time to figure it out. Have I been sabotaging myself or allowing the enemy access to my life? Seek God to help you to get to the bottom of this, a sound Christian counselor or a saved life coach. When you are given the answer don't run from it. It is necessary for you to heal from it, forgive it and let it go of it so you can move forward in your life. When we don't we remain stuck in a time that is no longer benefiting us. Join me as I interview Author Karen Lewis as she shares her struggles with repetitive child loss in her own words. Each loss was a blow she was not expecting and it took a toll on her spiritually and mentally. She experienced multiple child losses but yet held on to the Word of God. After each loss, she continued with life but there was a war going on in her mind. She refused to give up on God's unchanging hand and did not let go of her faith. Maybe you know someone who has or is right now in the middle of this struggle. Be sure to share this podcast with them.

There are things in our lives that we have the power to change but we don't do it. We let pride and stubbornness keep us in a chokehold. We dare not utter the words you hurt me. When we are weak that is when we are strong according to God. We say we want to be better, do better, and not react to things the way we do. We know that there are things we are holding on to for dear life and we need to release them. I encourage you today to breathe out the negative and soak in this worship experience. After you finish listening today go ahead and do those things that you know God has directed you to do because they are holding you up from moving forward. In order to get Godly results, there must be an implementation of Godly actions and this will lead to change.

Are you ready to make a change in your life? We say we want to change, we want to go to the next level, we are ready to stop hiding, we will no longer fear or allow others to keep us in a box but we don't do the necessary work to make the changes. I am sharing five steps with you that you can use in any area of your life. We have to acknowledge what we need to change. Put our voice to what needs to be changed. Begin to speak it into the atmosphere. We must forgive ourselves and forgive others. Then we are going to expose to the world what we are going to change for the better. We will expose our truth to inspire and be a blessing to others.

If you change your words you will be amazed at what changes in your life. Your mindset, attitude, situations, health, and faith will change. Meditate on God's Word and His goodness. "Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23) We must boldly speak and declare Gods' Word over our lives and not doubt, fear, sickness, or lack. You shall have what you say because life and death are in your tongue. No matter what it looks like or feels like speak Gods' Word! Every time we agree with the enemy by speaking lies to ourselves we have just lied. Why do I say that? Anything that is opposite of God's Word is a lie. Let's speak the truth and watch God work in our lives. I can't do it for you but I can encourage you to walk in who you have been called to be. Rise up, be bold, speak up, and let God hear you agreeing with His Word. If you change your words you will change your life. Let's become ANEW You!

Listen in as I am talking to Ms. B.J. Martin as we discuss domestic violence, child abuse, bullying, and other trauma that we go through in life. This podcast is a no-judgment zone and all are welcome. One thing we both agree on is "Never say never". As we go through life we will say what we won't do but we find ourselves in that very situation that we never dreamed of being in. We ask ourselves, "How did I get here"? We also discuss my book "Expose It" and my journey to being healed.

This is an interview for the Indie Author Showcase by Beyond the Book Media which is owned by Chanel E. Martin. I am being interviewed about my book "Expose It...Let Your Healing Process Begin. I share some nuggets about how to be free from the emotional pain. We don't have to carry around the emotional baggage. We have a choice to make whether to stay in that place or move from it. Your past experiences are not there as a place of residence. They are there for you to grow from them and to help pull someone else up from that very place you are in. You have to take your power back by talking through the experience of pain. Yes, it will hurt and it will not be easy but you will be better for it when you do. Go ahead and expose your truth!

Listen in as I am being interviewed by Angel Charmaine as I share my story. We discuss my book and I enjoyed this interview with Angel. She was very surprised by one of my responses to her question. We talked about those family secrets. We have to stop hiding things and sweeping them under the rug. It's time to dismantle the lies of the enemy and tell the truth. Let's not continue to pass our issues, hurts and failures to our children. Parents and adults let's stand up and tell the truth.

Always remember Jesus is the reason for the season. It is because of His birth that we give gifts to our loved ones. If you desire to become saved listen in and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. John 3:16 tells us, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". "As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one" Romans 3:10; "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Romans 3:23 God loves everyone but he hates sin. No one is exempt from sinning and that is why we can confess our sins to God and be forgiven. It does not matter what you have done and God is waiting on you. The only reason anyone would not go to heaven is because they have not accepted Jesus. Will you make Jesus your choice today?

Listen in to this powerful interview with Write On publishing company. The owner is Dr. Monique Rodgers. I am sharing my story from my book "Expose It". It's time for the church to discuss real issues so people can be set free. Time out for those churchified testimonies and let's tell the truth. The church should be setting standards and not the world. Jesus came to set us absolutely free but we tend to hold on to those bitter experiences instead of releasing them. You have to come to a point in your life that you do not care about what people have to say about you or think about you. They talked about Jesus and you will be talked about until you leave here. Go ahead and free yourself!

I had no intentions of writing a book about what I have experienced as a little girl. My book is inspired by the Holy Ghost and due to my obedience to the voice of God my book is here. It is my prayer that those who read my book with be encouraged and take a bold leap of faith to share their various experiences of what they have gone through. You will learn how to get unstuck and move past your pain of abuse from childhood, how forgiveness is apart of your healing process, how to get your voice and authority back. There is a purpose for everything we go through in life.

Listen in to this interview with Apostle Vonie Austin-James. Why is it important to expose your truth? When you expose your truth you are no longer hiding and you are shedding light on what you have been through. As you share your story with someone you trust you are releasing everything you have been holding on to. You begin to feel lighter because you are dumping it all out of your mind, your heart and soul. You will eventually gain your voice and authority back as well. Don't let anyone hold you hostage to keeping their secret. Give it back to them by telling the truth so you can be free. In order to be free you must expose your truth so your healing process can begin.

Have you ever been so thirsty that all you wanted was a cold glass of ice water? There are times that our body is dehydrated and craves for water but we tend to eat food instead. We may be thirsty and we reach for all of those sugary drinks instead. After drinking what our taste buds desire to have; instead of drinking the water; our body still craves for water. Just as our physical body craves and needs water our soul also craves for spiritual sustenance. Our soul longs for the living water. In John chapter 4 there is a story about a woman at a well who had a conversation with Jesus. Jesus told her I have water that once you drink it you will never be thirsty again. The woman desired to get the living water. Jesus was talking about a spiritual experience that would quench her desires. Do you have this longing within you today? We can go after things, possessions and people and we are still not content. God desires to fill your thirst today. The question is will you let Him. Continue to listen in on this series as I complete the comparisons between our natural and spiritual thirst.

There are times we start out with God but some how as we go through life we get away from Him. There are times we don't know what to do about our situations and we can feel so depleted. Has there ever been a time when you have felt I have nothing else to give? You are not alone and God has been there all along. When was the last time you had an heart to heart with God? God wants us to come to Him and be truthful. When was the last time you praised and worshiped God? God waits on us to come to Him as little children. Take some time with your Father today to worship Him and pour your heart out to Him. He is waiting on you.

Have you ever done something and wished you had not done it? Have you ever wished that you could go back and make it right? Have you ever been to prideful to say that you were wrong? Change can be difficult to go from one place to another. Especially when we were wrong. We are comfortable where we are or how we act even though we know we need to change and get it right. We resist leaving what is familiar in our lives when God is calling us to move higher. There is a fear associated with change as well. Whatever you desire to change in your life it's okay to change your mind. It’s okay to want better for yourself in life and move forward.

Have you ever been guilty of comparing yourself to someone? I most definitely have done this. The truth is we are all one of a kind, different, special, unique, beautiful, handsome, valuable and precious. We are not supposed to be like anyone else because we were not created to be. So stop torturing yourself because you want to be like someone else. Whatever changes you want to make in your life make preparation for the change, do the work, study, exercise, save for it and make the change.
