Performed by top Irish actors, Famine Monologues is a 6 part fictional series on the Irish Famine written by Anna Carey as part of The Great Irish Famine project on RTE.ie/history. This project is a partnership between RTÉ, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and University College Cork's Atlas of the Great Irish Famine.
We meet a young Irish Emigrant, who has a rude awakening in Liverpool. The Emigrant is played by Caitriona Ennis.

We meet Catherine, a young cottier woman from the West of Ireland whose life will be transformed by the arrival of the potato blight. Catherine is played by Caitriona Ennis.
We meet Dr. Daniel Donovan from Skibbereen in Co Cork who describes in a letter written to a newspaper, the sad details of his practice among a famine–stricken people. Dr. Donovan is played by Ray Scannell.
A British Civil Servant who shares his views and opinions on “the Irish Situation“. This part is played by Frank Blake.
We meet an American “relief worker”, who describes her experiences while living in Ireland during the Famine. The Relief Worker is played by Anne Byrne.
A destitute young mother describes the horror of being evicted. The young Mother is played by Aisling Kearns.
