This episode brings forth the idea that time spent without any purpose is time spent in prison. Idle time does not necessarily mean purposeless time, however too much idle time may be a hint of undirected purpose. Just like how prisoners do not have anything to look forward to until their sentence ends, we can become prisoners of our own times too.

If I Disappeared Today is a poem I wrote that expresses the hurting wishes of a partner who was left wounded from a devastating relationship. The partner contemplates if his disappearance would mean anything and if he would be remembered better if he were gone. Eventually, he understands that he already knows his answer and he cannot do this to himself. So he decides to bury all the pieces and move on for good. He will hope to find peace. And that he wouldn't run away.
As I continue to learn to write poems, I hope that these little bonus episodes are enjoyable.

As we reach the midway of December, I hope that you take the time and reflect on not just your love life, but your friendships and the people you've lost this year. More power and love to you all.

We live in a world of instant gratification. The phone rings and you've instantly bombarded with so much information that you're brain never gets the time to really switch off.
The 62nd episode talks about the reality of instant gratification and how waiting is actually more powerful than it is. It's a very simple concept yet something we've forgotten.
As December begins, I hope that things slow down and you get the time to process everything that's happened in your life. More power and love to you all.

The 61st episode emphasizes the message that you deserve better things. You don't deserve to settle and make compromises. It's possible that you have no choice. It's possible that you're bound in chains. But you need to know your worth. Because then you will always be looking for a way out. You can't stay like this forever, so don't.
More power and love to you all.

The 6th season of the podcast starts with a very reassuring message that you're doing okay. Everything that is troubling you, will eventually pass. Like all things do, both good and bad.
If you're feeling a little out of place, remember that you're doing the best you can, even if it doesn't feel like it.
More power and love to you all.

On 11/11/21, I released my first episode of the podcast. It's crazy to think that 50 episodes later, I'll be sitting here wondering if the universe wanted this to happen to me. Every day I'm a little more grateful to be able to have a medium through which I can express myself to the world.
So what if I'm not reaching millions? So what if I only have a few 100 good followers? As long as there's one person eagerly waiting for my episodes, I'm giving into the world what it has given to me.
So as I start the next year of my podcast, I intend to be more consistent and put more effort into refining this podcast into a library of reassurances for everyone who seems to want a little help with their thoughts.
We got this.
I'm really grateful for all the good people who follow this podcast and I hope when you look back at the end of the year, I would've made a small difference in your lives.

Technically, it is the 50th episode but it reads bonus episode for a reason! It's not Canon!
This episode narrates my experience at a Himalayan Trek, Hampta Pass. It is an odd 20 min long episode but if you're a travel freak, you may like listening to this while in transit.
The Himalayas is a beautiful place; no matter where you are in this world, you should visit these mountain ranges. They're special. They're deformed. They're an ecosystem of their own.
Lessons and psychological connections from this experience will follow in some other episode, within 5 minutes of course :P
Have a great day
Ciao.
We keep talking about not being able to have our way with the things we want, but often, it's because we haven't even tried to. Trying is not equal to success but if you don't try, you 100% won't be able to get what you want.
This episode, although a short one, touches upon some things I want to remind myself of when it feels like I'm backing away from something I wanted all along.

Ahoy, my pirates. We have reaches the respected lands of the musicians, Gothronoria, where pirates sit under the rain and listen to music. On this occasion, our beloved Captain Harsh Septimus takes upon him the responsibility of talking about difficult moments. Join the crowd!
Ahoy, My dear Pirates.
Captain Harsh Septimus brings a bottled message from the lost Island of Archelengels. The secrets hidden in this bottle were lost for centuries until it was found in the depths of a dangerous trench.
Are you willing to hear what secrets it holds? Then get back in the deck and wait for our favorite sparrow to read it out to us.
Aye Aye!
Ahoy! Our friendly neighborhood genie has disappeared since the last episode and it's time for a worthy replacement to take over the reins of this podcast.
Captain Harsh Septimus arrived at the shores on the 23rd of August and has been helping set up a new dimension to this podcast. While it is still in progress, he has decided to drop a new episode to keep the ship afloat in these difficult times.
Captain Harsh is not an extraordinary man but his simplicity and the average life are what make him so reliable and trustworthy.
You'll be seeing more of him.
Aye Aye.
Namaste! You wished it, You get it.
Your weekly genie is back with another thought-provoking episode. I hope you know that just because you are struggling, it doesn't mean you are failing. Keep struggling for as long as you can, until one day, you no longer do. What brings meaning to your work, what brings happiness to your work is not success, but the feeling of finally overcoming your struggles.
Don't deny yourself that chance.
I also bring good news(mostly for myself). My Website, CtrlAltGrow, is picking up speed and is almost ready. I really hope you get the time to check it out.
Ciao. I'll be back next week!
Namaste!
This brown genie, Harsh Patel, is back with a new episode in the first week of August, a month named after the Roman Emperor, Augustus.
This episode describes the very familiar feeling of being disconnected from the world around us. It's suffocating and it affects our mental stamina so much that we lose interest in everything. * pat pat *
I hope listening to this episode could give you some deserving calmness and a sigh of relief.
Have a blessed week!
Ciao.
You can give me feedback by reaching out to my Instagram, @hacchuu.
Namaste, my fellow Hoomans. It your Brown Genie, back again with a new episode.
I know that being a genie does not make sense but I promise that this episode will.
I also have some exciting news!! The genie has bought his first new domain and he'll soon build his own Website to grant these small wishes.
Confetti bursts
Clears throat
Got carried away. I hope this episode is to your liking. This was one of the hardest things to write about which is why, I'm most satisfied with this one.
Ciao!
Namaste! Did you think that your brown genie wouldn't show up to kill those Monday blues?
Nope, I'm right here.
This episode portrays how most of your problems are in your head. The moment you stop giving power to the thoughts in your head, you will realize that you are able to achieve a lot more things. Sometimes, you are your own villain. You hold yourself back by thinking more than you need to.
Sending good vibes your way!
Ciao.
Poof The brown genie has actually turned blue because of a throat infection but I still got myself to release this episode because I didn't want to break the frequency of releases.
This episode is one of my favorites because there are times I keep forgetting to respect myself and place others above me. I accept excuses even when it is unacceptable and in doing so, I lower my self-respect to accommodate such instances. It is a voice from my side that reminds you to put yourself first and press the gas.
You are your own backbone.
Namaste!
Your weekly brown genie is back with another thought-provoking episode from inside the lamp.
We're almost nearing the end of this season with the last few episodes and it will be time for a new season of this podcast.
Wishing you all a good day.
Time to go back inside the lamp now!
Ciao.
Your weekly genie does make dreams come true.
Imagine you had the privilege of talking to your younger self. As much as you'd like to tell him/her to do things differently, what would you tell your younger self?
Phonecall through time is a series I started where a 40-year-old is conversing casually with his 20-year-old self in the past. He doesn't want him to change all his mistakes, but he talks about his own life as an experience and tries to teach his younger self a lesson or two.
If you enjoy this series, I'd love to get some creative input as to how to make this more engaging.
Ciao.
Namaste!
Your average brown genie, Harsh Patel, is back with another episode a day earlier than scheduled.
While I was making this episode, I could see myself in a different light. I know we all affect a lot of people in our lives daily. And no one really forgets what you made them feel. They forgive but never forget.
But that also doesn't mean you cannot change how you made them feel. Today, tomorrow and all the days that come, how you treat them will shape how they feel about you. And no matter what history you may have, it's okay to start over.
Enough said. Time to get back in my lamp and sleep for the next three days or so.
I'll see you.
Harsh
Namaste!
Your brown genie, Harsh Patel, is back with an essential episode for all of us who sometimes get into a habit of over-apologizing.
Also, did I tell you that July will be legen-wait for it-dary? No?
Well, it's going to be legendary.
Have a tremendous mid-year folks.
Enjoy your victories and celebrate this month.
See you soon.
Namaste! Your weekly genie, Harsh is back after a short break to take care of his personal health and life. Now that I'm back from my creative rest, you can make a wish and I will make an episode on a topic of your choice Wish away! You can find this brown genie on Instagram under the handles @hacchuu/@withinfiveminutes 1, 2, 3, poof!

Hello, my fellow hoomans,
This is Harsh, the host of this fairy podcast, Within 5 Minutes.
May the gods shower you with good luck if you read this description. Alladin brings you new content on a fresh new wednesday.
Hope to see you in the next episode
Harsh.
Hey There!
This is Harsh Patel, the host of this podcast, Within 5 Minutes, with another episode this week. I plan to increase my episodes' frequency from once weekly to twice weekly.
Honestly, it hasn't been easy trying to squeeze in a couple of episodes in a week as I want to divide my time after work between my content creation, hobbies, and family time. There were so many times when I almost didn't show up and that's why I really felt like I needed this episode to remind myself on such days, that I just need to show up and do something, no matter how little.
I hope it strikes a chord in you and you feel you need to show up this week to do something you love.
Have a great Saturday
Harsh.
Hi There!
I'm back again this weekly Wednesday to bring you a very personal episode that is almost a letter to everyone out there.
When it feels like everything is going wrong, we try so hard to seize control and look on the brighter side. But, this is a small attempt from my side that can help you maneuver through those difficult feelings by stating some of the most obvious yet meaningful things.
I hope you're having a good week folks.
Cheers,
Harsh
Hi There.
We're back on track with weekly Wednesday episodes. This episode is one that I could listen to time and time again to remind myself that when I judge others, I'm judging myself. I'm showing the world how I see the world and how I think others look at me.
Not sure if there are people who read this, but if you're here reading this, I'm thankful to y'all.
Lately, I've been finding it a little harder to find the things I want to talk about. Most of the episodes I make are things I want to hear myself but at some point, I realized that I do not know what else I need to hear. It's not that I have a lack of problems in my life, but I'm slowly easing into my life with more confidence in myself. And that's when I realized that, I can start talking about things in a broader context, even though it may seem obvious and silly to some.
If you have any suggestions, feel free to reach out on my Instagram handles @withinfiveminutes/@hacchuu.
Adios.

Hey there.
Thanks for always remembering to tune into the podcast. As a midseason bonus, I am releasing a small poem I had written during my free time.
Rain has always given me a high that connects me to myself and the world. With this short poem, I hope you begin appreciating the little things that happen in your life because they often seem to get lost. This is my attempt to capture the feeling that the little pitter-patter brings in me.
Have a good week folks. Next episode is coming real soon.
Thanks,
Harsh

Hi! It's Harsh Patel, the host of the podcast, Within 5 Minutes, with a new episode on "How to not take things personally"
Compiled for this episode are some of the very interesting strategies I’ve found on the internet.
Taking things personally takes a toll on your happiness and peace of mind. Sometimes, it’s better to turn a blind eye and shrug it off. And even if you’re slightly intimidated, ask yourself,
How personal can this actually be?
I hope you have a good weekend.
Hi! It's Harsh Patel, the host of the podcast, Within 5 Minutes, with a new episode on "The 7 Types of Rest".
Sleep and rest are not the same things. According to Dr. Saundra Dalton Smith, sleep isn’t the only kind of rest we need. In her Ted Talk, she talks about the six other types of rest that cannot and will not be fulfilled just by sleeping. Humans need physical, mental, social, creative, emotional, spiritual, and sensory rest.
This episode covers the 7 different types of rest based on her educative Ted Talk.
You can message me on Instagram - @hacchuu for suggestions and recommendations.
Regardless of our generation, we have all experienced the painful sting of FOMO. The fear of missing out.
FOMO is the reason why some of us do things way out of our comfort zones just to satisfy our anxiety. FOMO makes you go to parties even when you have a cold. It makes you drive all the way to the other corner of the city and it is probably why you’re burning the money in your pockets.
Hello everyone, this Harsh Patel, the host of the podcast, Within 5 Minutes.
There are ways of easily finding out if your FOMO is taking over your actions or not.
Most people check their social feeds to see if they are missing out on anything. But being in such a hypervigilant state is the complete opposite of being at peace.
We live in a society where we’re told that, If we do what we love, money and success are sure to follow. We’ve been told that, if you’re not changing the world in dramatic ways, it’s because you’re too afraid to find your passion and follow it. The super-achievers on the internet have pounded us with the fact that they are doing what they love.
It sounds like a solid piece of advice, doesn’t it? And who in their right mind wouldn’t want to exchange the 9-5 for endless days living your thrilling passion?
DWYL glorifies certain types of work. Only some jobs look lovable with enough popularity and enough money. While the others are ignored as unglamorous and unpassionate.
We are crushed with ideas that, having a job for a living is bad, with questions like “Aren’t you tired of 9-5?” or “You’re still a corporate slave?”.
When you are making career choices, don’t start with, “What do I love the most?” Instead ask yourself, “What kind of life do I want to live?”.
“Is it really necessary to monetize our passion for it to be legitimate?” If you want to pursue your passion, that’s great. If not, that’s great as well. You don’t have to quit your job to “follow your passion”. You can do so on your own terms.
Some of us even prefer to pursue our passion later on with no financial stress. Imagine being able to paint or sing or act or write lyric poetry about your cat and not worry about how to pay the rent.
Don’t misunderstand. Nobody is belittling passion. Passion in life is a good thing. But passion is not the most important factor – or even a requirement for – a rewarding career. Don’t let someone else place value judgments on your life, and whether or not it is living up to their definition of “meaningful.” The only person who should be defining your life is you.
The backbone of today’s episode is actually from a book called Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty. This book is a really good read and I’d really recommend it to anyone who’s interested.
Welcome to my podcast, Within 5 Minutes. This is Harsh Patel bringing the 11th episode of this series The 7C's of Negativity.
Negativity is everywhere. No one wakes up thinking that they are going to spoil another person's day. It comes from within, sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously. Have you ever thought to yourself, why is it that bad news draws more attention than good news? Or why criticism has a greater impact than compliments?
The 7C’s of negativity are different clusters of negative people we find around us. Complainers, Cancellers, Casualties, Critics, Commanders, Competitors, and Controllers.
A fun exercise could be for you to identify and place your friends into these categories and determine what kind of negative impact do they have in your life.
Instead of judging these negative behaviors, we should be trying to neutralize them or turn them into positives. Neutralizing people from each of these categories involves a little indifferent attitude as most people who radiate negativity, do not do so purposely.
This episode talks about the choices that one has in life. We value one thing but choose to do something else. There's no one, or nothing to blame. It was your choice. This is your host, Harsh Patel bringing you the 10th episode, Weighing your choices. Our actions tell us what the real story is despite what we really want to do. What we choose to do in our spare time is what we value in reality. When you’re watching a show, a one-hour episode feels like it flew so quickly but spending an hour sitting with your parents feels like a thousand years. Spending around 1000 bucks on your subscriptions is a no-brainer but spending the same amount for the gym needs so much convincing to do. In fact, we are willing to buy a packet of chips every single day but not enough healthy cereals which could probably last the whole month. The reason why most people fail is that they give up what they want most to get what they want now. Is it ‘I don’t have enough time for that?” or rather, “I don’t want to make time for that?” Just remember, everything is a consequence of your choice. Almost always, you’re unable to do something because you do not know how to balance it on your weighing scale. You only start a chain of excuses when you try to convince everyone that you do not have the time, effort, and money for it. If you really value something, you will find a choice that will lead you there.
As we come to the end of this year I'm grateful to everyone that has dedicated five minutes to listen to the thoughts I've collected as content. I'm releasing a bonus episode with an experimental format to see if it's worth pursuing in the future seasons.
For those who are new, welcome to my Podcast, Within 5 Minutes. This is your host Harsh Patel, bringing you the final episode in the series, Phonecall through time.
This episode talks about how we need to get comfortable with the changes in our lives. Change is inevitable and we need to take charge of these changes.
My name is Harsh Patel, the host of this podcast, Within 5 Minutes.
“If you do not create change yourself, change will create you”. The longer you try to resist it, the tougher your life will become.
How would you feel if you were the same throughout your next 5 years, just doing the same things that you’re doing right now? It’s like holding a keypad phone in the age of smartphones and gadgets. You become outdated and less appreciated. And trust me, our world is at a stage where the faster you adapt to the change, the more successful you’ll become. Technology is changing fast, people’s desires are changing fast, the jobs we have around us are changing real fast. You don’t want to be left out trying to play catch with a generation that is moving exponentially in all aspects. So it’s high time you start getting used to changes, both inside and outside you.
We need to get rid of the negative impact that the word change has on us. I think change is most commonly misinterpreted as ‘replacement’.
Keep in mind what creates the core of you. In other words, what makes you who you are. Change makes us feel untethered and like we're flailing in the wind. But we can find our anchor and stay grounded to our core.
Would you rather be unhappy over being uncertain? Change is learning. Learning is growing. And Growing is living. So live and let live.
Your journey is just starting. One more year up ahead with so many more challenges and adventures. Own it up.
Hey There!
This is Harsh Patel, the host of the podcast, Within 5 Minutes. The is a follow-up episode talking about the year that was.
This year, you met yourself as a person who could not make decisions by yourself and chose to go with the flow. But even river currents lose control in a waterfall and end up crashing into those sharp, jagged rocks.
One domino fell on top of another one, which pushed another one, and bam before you knew it, you started a chain of events that caused a shift in your thought process and behavior. What was unacceptable once may now seem acceptable and what was once your personal ecstasy may now be a distant past.
A 100 bad days make 100 good stories. What did not work out this year, is a story to learn from.
365 days in a year. Out of which, you only remember the ones that made you either very happy or very sad. But to tell you the truth, the most important days are the ones in between, where you are just figuring it out and trying to push yourself to keep going.
Your life is not what it seems, because you’re full of starry magical dreams. Day in and day out, you continue moving your limbs, digging deeper towards the treasure, while the world spins. You might not have several hands by your side, but know that even one hand can change the tide. Pursuing you will be shortcomings untold, but hold on, because fortune favors the bold.
If life were a game, you would probably have unlocked an achievement for making it through one of the hardest parts of the game.
Hey there! This is the host, Harsh Patel, bringing you the 7th episode of the podcast, Within 5 Minutes.
In my opinion, December is the best month :) And I had to create an episode on one of the reasons why I feel it's such an important month.
You just feel this sense of excitement and nostalgia for everything you’ve been through in the last 12 months. Excitement for a brand new chapter in your life. Excitement for a clean slate.
Some of us found our first jobs despite all the negative voices while some of us found ourselves stuck in the crossroads of career choices. Some of us left our homes to pursue our dreams while some of us found new homes in situations extreme.
2021 has changed our lives in a very physiological way. We have seen how vulnerable we are as humans and how life is so precious. Billions of people shut inside four walls both physically and mentally.
Who you were then and who you are now are poles apart from each other. This might have been the year you decided to take it slow and enclose yourself in the warmth of your cocoon. Or this might have been the year when you finally decided to emerge out of the cocoon and spread your wings with bright colors. Whatever your path was, you metamorphosized. You evolved.
Not every year is supposed to be your best year. Things go wrong all the time. Friends part company and we fall in proverbial holes. Recognizing what isn’t working for you is actually a big positive. And letting go of these things is vital to create new space for new experiences.
So take some time now and ponder the year that was. Once you’ve taken the time to sit and reflect, you can finally close the doors to 2021.
2022 is the beginning of a new chapter in the book you call Life. And soon, you will be writing the first page out of the 365 pages in this chapter.
I wish you all the very best and may this next year bring you closer to all the things you’ve dreamt for yourself. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
See you in the next episode. Ciao.
Hey There!
This is Harsh Patel, the host of the podcast, Within 5 Minutes with the 6th episode, Chain of Excuses.
When was the last time you made an excuse?
Who is the first person that comes to mind when you think of the word, excuse?
To what extent do you continue covering up an excuse with other excuses?
While some excuses might appear harmless, the truth is that every excuse you make takes you further away from reaching your full potential. What’s more, you’ll end up missing opportunities that you might never get back. You may fail to build up talents and skills that could contribute to your growth and progress.
There is this little trick I try to use to cut down my excuses: instead of saying “I’d really like to, but…”, cut yourself off and say “I’d really like to.” This triggers your mind to focus on the plans you need to make to reach your goals.
So the next time you find yourself in a situation where you have to take an action, be it small or life-changing, try to own it up. Because excuses will make you regret “the road not taken”.
Don’t let your “later” become “never”, or your “maybe” to become a “no”.
Hey There!
This is Harsh, Patel, the host of this podcast. Episode 5 is an attempt to motivate you to turn your one day into day one's.
Truth is, we are all dreamers. We dream about things that we do not have. But do you always want to be a dreamer or do you want to be a chaser? One day, you will pursue it. And if it’s going to happen one day, it might as well be today.
Every day that you wake up and do what it is that you need to do, is a win. Everyday you decide to act on your dreams is a win. And these wins will pile up with small increments every day until it becomes evident that you’ve become what you set out to be.
Getting better is a constant tug of war. You need to keep pulling the rope every day without fail. It’s a daily, weekly, and hourly fight. If you let go of the rope, you’ll be sitting on the floor with your hands on your head. And even then, if you really believe in yourself, you will get back on your legs and start pulling the rope like it’s day one.
It may sound like blind motivation, but this is just a reminder. Everything is built on bricks. Unless you start placing them together, you won’t be able to build your palace. It could take years of hard work with no results, but in the fifth year, it could all fall in place and your life could be completely different.
You can reach out to me on my Instagram @hacchuu for any suggestions or ideas. An honest critic is the best one.
Hey There! This is Harsh Patel, the host of the podcast, Within 5 minutes. The fourth episode of the podcast talks about the herd mentality. Have you ever found yourself agreeing to the majority when it comes to voicing your opinions? Do you sometimes find yourself relying on your friends, parents, or colleagues when it comes to making important decisions in your life? Do you feel it would be embarrassing to do things that are out of the box? If you found yourself saying yes to any of these, then you’ve been part of the herd mentality like the rest of us. Denying to agree upon something that 9 out of 10 people agree upon makes our brain so uncomfortable that logic and reasoning take a backseat and we feel safer being part of the majority. The idea of following the herd is soothing as it eliminates the fear of the unknown. The biggest reason why most of us find it hard to make a decision is that we’re afraid that if we fail, everyone would mock us for trying something that is different. But you know, it may turn out better than you imagined It’s not really about finding happiness but living your life under your own principles and sense of truth. For even in a crowd, you can be alone. You can find this episode as a blog at my WordPress blog - https://within5minutes.wordpress.com/ I'll be back with the 5th episode. Hi There! This is Harsh Patel, the host of this podcast, Within 5 Minutes.
The third episode talks about how much celebrity culture affects us.
Today, we scroll through the photos of the rich, famous people who spend thousands of dollars on their plastic surgeries, skincare products, nutritionists, and trainers.
All this is not visible to us because their social media is so perfectly curated to show you only what they want you to see. That’s a very powerful statement.
You see only what they want you to see.
There is a subconscious desire in humans to idolize anything that is stronger, better, richer, more beautiful, and powerful than the rest. But you need to remember that celebrities are like you and me. They eat, drink, sleep, think and feel like everybody else. This is not to say that you should unfollow celebrities completely, but being armed with the knowledge of how social media celebrity culture affects you, consciously and unconsciously, is key.
I would like you to do something that I will do myself as well. Filter out all the celebrities that do not have a positive influence and cut them out. You might finally shed that underlying feeling of not being good enough once you stop comparing and caring so deeply about them.
Hi There, This is Harsh Patel, your host for the podcast, Within 5 minutes, with the second episode
"You become what you surround yourself with"
If you are friends with criminals, you not only run the risk of getting on the wrong side of the law, but as you get familiar with them, you begin to feel that their life is more and more normal. Your moral compass gets tilted in the wrong direction because their activities don’t seem as bad as they used to be.
You are an average of the top 5 people in your life. The people you surround yourself with will shape who you are. This is passive growth. The only choice you have here is to choose and filter your friends wisely.
The dream in your heart may be bigger than the environment you are in, but sometimes you just need to get out of that environment to see those dreams come true.
I want you to ask yourself. Who do you spend the most time with? Who are some of the people you admire? Are those two groups the same? Why not?
I hope to see you all in the next episode. Have a good day!
Hi There, I am Harsh Patel.
The first episode is based on the very common quote, "You reap what you sow".
Think of your mind as a garden and yourself as a gardener. Whatever you plant in your garden, is exactly what you shall get. Nothing more, nothing less. There’s no way for you to plant tomato seeds and expect them to grow into strawberries. If you don’t like your crop, dig the damn soil up and plant something else. It’s that simple.
Hope to see you at the next one!
