Today Lisa had the pleasure to interview one of her team members, Jodi Benusa! Jodi joined a direct sales company, L’BRI PURE n’ NATURAL, about 7 years ago and got off to a great start, and then the pandemic hit. She was working full-time as a social worker at a hospital and the stress escalated, and her side gig had to take a “back seat” and she lost her desire to grow a business due to the workload her job required.
But a few years ago, Jodi made the decision to create her own business, and was able to walk away from her full-time job at the hospital. This was also the time she made the decision to put more time and dedication into her direct sales business.
As you listen to Jodi’s story, you will hear the struggles she forged through and all of the personal growth that she has experienced because of her involvement and work within her direct sales business! You will also hear how just making the decision to say YES to a side gig in L’BRI has impacted her life and her success. Listen in and be encouraged by her stories as well as her words of wisdom to anyone thinking of saying “yes” to starting a side gig!

This is the second interview in our Summer Side-Gig Series where we have been talking about things to consider before saying “yes” to a side-gig with a direct sales company, what questions to ask and reasons why direct sales is an excellent decision if you are needing and wanting more options in your life.
Today Lisa interviewed an Oklahoma homeschool mom of 4 who said yes to L’BRI initially because money was tight, she saw how these natural aloe-first products had helped her son’s eczema, and saw how she could get the products she wanted for her family at a deep discount.
But when Shawna began to increase her “mustard-size” faith in what this business could do, and grabbed onto the belief that this could be the “vehicle” that would produce the extra money they would need to purchase a camper for the family to travel in, AND the potential for her to earn the car to pull that camper, she began to truly “wake up and dream.”
Are you sick and tired of living paycheck to paycheck, and have considered starting a side-gig? Perhaps you are a homeschool mom like Shawna, desiring more options on your time schedule. Connect with Shawna if you have questions or want more info about starting your own side-gig.

Today was a special episode because I was able to share it with two of my dear friends, Char Grover and Peggy Sue Hammen-Shuller! We met because of our side gig with L’BRI PURE n’ NATURAL. As you listen you will not only hear why they said yes to direct sales, but you will also feel the passion they have for helping others with their skin and finding natural solutions and are clean and healthy!
There is a negative stigma that many have about joining a direct sales company, but as you listen to their stories, we hope that you feel inspired to find a company that aligns with what you are passionate about, and say YES to the possibilities that are waiting for you! Start “waking up” to the potential that a side-gig can have in your life!

In today's episode, Lisa aims to help you know what questions to ask when considering joining a direct sales or MLM company. Not all companies are created equally, and if you are considering starting a side-gig, it is important to get answers to some important questions.
Questions to ask when choosing a company to partner with:
Is this a company/product line that I want to share with others? Clean products? Are you passionate about them? What’s the company’s reputation? Integrity? How long have they been in business? Does this company sell consumable products? What is the company’s return and refund policy? Sample program?
Is the company debt free? Owned by Investors? What is the story to how the company got started? What’s the company’s reputation? Integrity? How long have they been in business?
What are the start-up costs and what does the company provide you with? What resources does the company offer new consultants to help them make money right away?
How do I make money? What percentage do I make on my sales? What does the profit plan look like compared to others in direct sales?
Are their sales quotas, hidden fees, requirements to have inventory? What is required to remain active, and what does that fee provide?
How do you sell your products…..online, in-person, through events/parties?
What is the company culture like? What kind of support can I expect from the company, my mentor and/or team members? How successful is your potential sponsor/mentor?
Is there any penalty if I decide to resign/cancel?

Thanks for joining us for our Summer Side-Gig Series! In today’s episode, Lisa gives us the inside scoop on direct sales as a side gig! First off, learn why direct sales is not a pyramid scheme and it is actually very similar to corporate america’s way of compensating people, with the one big exception: In direct sales, there is room for many people at the top, not just room for one CEO.
Lisa shares how by saying a scary “yes” to direct sales, she has experienced benefits of extra income, but much more. Here are a few she describes in this episode:

This episode is the first in our Summer Side-gig series, so only appropriate to have Lisa share how she was introduced to the side-gig she said “yes” to 13 years ago! Listen in to hear how L’BRI was introduced to direct sales and an “Aloe-First” natural skincare company called L’BRI PURE n’ NATURAL. In this episode, Lisa shares how she never read labels on her skincare products, but after attending a “L’BRI party” she because informed of how important it is to know what you are putting on your skin and into your bloodstream via your skincare products. Lisa shares in this episode more about what sets L’BRI apart from other brands and invites listeners to become informed consumers, and compare L’BRI with their current brand. For Lisa, this introduction to a natural, plant-based skincare line was the turning point in the healing of her adult acne-prone skin, but then began to fuel a passion for sharing it, especially after her battle with Breast Cancer! Lisa has found her passion and purpose within her side-gig with direct sales, and encourages listeners to find what they are passionate about, and then find a side-gig that flows out of that natural passion and desire to share their story!

Ever “talk yourself” off the ledge? Ever wish you had a counselor/coach you could access on speed dial? Well, you do. YOU can be your own counselor/coach, if only you pause and do a little “self-coaching” as we like to call it.
Anxiety, stress, and the desire to be in control are all a part of human existence. But self-coaching can help you manage these thoughts and feelings. Using an inner conversational dialogue, you can coach the part of you that is feeling out of control and/or afraid. You can reassure it that she is going to get through this. Comfort her that “you” are there to take care of her and that her feelings matter. And encourage her to “let it go” and surrender to the process.
You can also coach yourself by asking yourself these questions:
Your body can also be a great coaching resource because it is also communicating with you. The question is, “Are we listening?” If you feel your body tensing, it may be reminding you to slow down, pause, say no to something, be aware of your situation and the emotions that are coming up for you.
Take 3 minutes. Stop. Pause. Breathe. Ask yourself: What is most important here? Where can I give a little? What can I do differently to help manage my to-do list?
It is a journey! Be in the moment, and remember: YOU matter!

In this episode, Sara shared some “ah-ha’s” that she had recently as she has been serving on the board of One Tough Cookie, a non-profit that is on mission to support those battling cancer as well as the caregivers with care packages. Her involvement in a recent fundraiser spurred her to experience some deep fulfillment that is alignment with her purpose.
Maybe you can relate to Sara who once believed that her career had to be in alignment with her purpose, which at times, left her feeling frustrated and lacking zeal. This involvement with a local non-profit has helped shift some of these paradigms. What she has discovered is that she can have a career (and may even enjoy what she is doing at work) but find more of her true passion and purpose outside of her career!
How about you? Have you taken the time to think about what lights you up? What brings you the most joy and fulfillment? That may be your career, but it might be your relationships with family, your involvement at church or some other organization. And in today’s episode, we want to give you permission to explore your purpose, even if that happens to be outside your role at work.

With the end of the school year, planning vacations, summer camps, etc…this can be a crazy time of busyness, especially for us mams! New routines are coming, and we just want to check in with you to see how you are feeling about all of this busyness!
Pause! Check in with your feelings! Do you do that? Or do you just scramble around, stressed out, trying to make it all happen? As mamas, we can easily run ourselves ragged and forget that we matter! In this episode we took a closer at busyness and the power of our thoughts, emotions, and how we “show up” in this transition and season.
Here are some practical tips:

Happy Mother’s Day! With that being said, we wanted to take a little time on this episode to talk about the varying emotions that can be stirred up when it comes to this day called Mother’s Day. We understand that for some of you this is a joyous day to be with your children, your mom, and/or loved ones. But for others of you, this day is a reminder of the pain of loss, the sorrow of “what you hoped motherhood would be like,” or maybe you are separated from your children and grieve the distance between you. Or perhaps you don’t have a good, healthy relationship with your mom, so that is an internal battle, especially on the day we are told to honor our moms. Or maybe you have other emotions and circumstances we didn’t mention.
Regardless of the emotions that you have around Mother’s Day, we want to assure you of one thing: We see you!
Here are a few tips to help you prepare for any holiday that may (or has in the past) stirred up a lot of emotions:
And for those that don’t struggle with this day, remember to be an empathetic listener for those that have reasons for their emotions, and give a lot of grace.

Does spring inspire you to begin something new? But trying new things can naturally create fear, worry, and doubts. Why is that? Why don’t we choose to be excited about these new things? Excitement is a life-giving emotion that we get to choose!
Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich, said this, “It takes the same amount of energy to imagine the worst than to imagine wild success.” (paraphrased) So why not imagine these new ventures bringing you wild success.
Take time to pause, notice the beauty all around you. But also remember that when it appears that a part of your life is stalled and lifeless, be patient and continue to be diligent to “keep watering” those areas of your life, because there is LIFE under the surface. When you are not seeing the results you desire, wait and keep being faithful to the vision you have been given. Keep moving! And guard your heart against being influenced by those that are prone to discourage you, or jealous of what you are doing, etc. Protect your mind and heart to maintain that excitement.
Let us know what NEW beginning you are embarking on! We hope this episode inspired you to take action despite the fear and worry! We would love to hear how this episode encouraged or challenged you! Are you feeling stuck in a pattern of thinking and living that you wish you could change? We all have a “voice” and a “listener” inside our heads. And oftentimes the “Chatty Cathy“ is running the show, talking constantly, and keeping us feeling stuck and powerless to change. In this episode, we take a closer look at that “voice” inside our heads.
Bob Proctor has said, “The quality of one’s life is in direct proportion to their level of awareness.” So in today’s episode, we are shining a light on “that VOICE” that has been lying to you, discouraging you from taking on that new project, new job, new adventure, and we aim to help you become an objective listener to that chatter. Why is this helpful? Because when we become AWARE of our thoughts and feelings, as an objective, 3rd-party observer/listener, we can then make some non-judgemental observations and ask ourselves some questions like:
1.Is this thought/feeling true?
Is this thought/feeling serving me?
Is this thought/feeling in alignment with the person I aspire to be?
What thought/feeling would I like to have instead?
What is stopping me from believing this new thought/feeling?
It is as if you start playing the objective counselor/advisor to that “voice” in your head!

In today’s episode, Lisa shares one principle that she has shared with her team: Work on YOU just as much as you work on your business! You can apply this principle to other areas of your life, such as relationships, your job, your fitness/health, your side-gig, etc.
How could this look? Read books, listen to podcasts, be committed to online trainings….but don’t just CONSUME and become a “fat baby” that never grows up. TAKE ACTION! Do the scary thing, figure out what your personality needs to stay focused on action (a pacing partner, a deadline, a reward/prize you work towards, an alarm on your phone set for 30 minute of ACTION…..and do it!

Mindset around books! What are your thoughts and feelings about reading! In this episode, we discovered that each of us have very different approaches and feeling about reading! Sara “eats” books and loves personal development books but recently has given herself permission to read novels and fiction books.
Lisa then shared that her experience growing up around reading impacts her approach and feelings about reading. She has struggled with reading, labeling herself as a slow reader, and is learning now NOT to judge herself, but to create a fresh new relationship with books and her beliefs around reading.
There are many ways to read books: Kindle, Audio, print……and we encourage you to change things up and try a new way to “consume” a book. Give yourself permission to explore a different genre! Have fun!

What a lively discussion we had today! In this episode we talked about the importance of listening to our bodies. What does that mean? Well, the fact is that our emotions are stored in the very cells of our bodies, so there is definitely a scientific connection between our thoughts/emotions and our bodies! So, why not check in with your body and see what comes up for you emotionally? Even journal about it! When we play the victim to our circumstances, it can be easy to have the “It is what it is” mentality. And this can then cause our bodies to respond in alignment to that belief. But the key is AWARENESS. This is how we take our power back.
So, stay in awareness. Listen to what your body is trying to tell you. Use your body to create the emotions you desire, like allow yourself to jump up and down and get excited if you feel like you are in a slump. Or like Sara shared, listening to her body meant to choose restorative yoga over her normal workout! Your body will definitely talk to you, but the question is: are you listening?

Episode 105: Emotional Discipline
How are you handling the pressures of life? Does it feel like you are spinning on a hamster wheel? You are in good company!
Lisa and Kelly dove into the topic of “Emotional Discipline.” Lisa found this term in a recent podcast, The Seven-Figure Standard, with Arash Vossough. Here is the link to that podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/seven-figure-standard/id1684349810?i=1000644322568
Lisa shared the internal pressure she had been putting on herself this last week. She has high standards for herself, and this last week she “hit the wall.” And this brought about awareness of her thoughts and feelings, and her need to “take a pause” and take an assessment of your thoughts/feelings.
It is so important to pause and check in with ourselves. Sometimes we need to just push through, but it is also very important to check in and take time out to do something that brings you joy! Kelly encouraged us to make a list of the things that bring you JOY, so that when you are feeling overwhelmed, you can use this list as a “tool in your toolbelt.”

Think back to the people who impacted you most? Lisa started out summarizing a Mel Robbins podcast episode where Mel shared this recent study about who is having the most influence on your life, depending on your age and what decade of life you are in. Mel said that after age 18, the influence parents have on their children decreases significantly. She noted that from age 26-46, we are most influenced by our co-workers and work community. If you are interested in listening to her podcast, you can check it out here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-mel-robbins-podcast/id1646101002?i=1000644164038
These research findings prompted us to talk about the people that have influenced us most, and the importance of making sure you are surrounding yourself with the people that will make you better, and not buy into the lie that you are stuck in that job or relationship. We can make all the excuses we want, but the truth of the matter is, we DO have a choice!
Sara shared a book she recently finished called The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hinderbrand. In the book, the main character shares a weekend with friends from each season of her life: a friend from her elementary and highschool years, a friend from her college years, a friend from the baby raising years, and then a friend from now when kids are all grown……the dynamics and potential conflict that would arise when all these people go away for the weekend.
Connections and communities can change and evolve, and we may even “outgrow” some of those relationships, and that is ok. That is not a bad thing. You get to choose.
We want to encourage you to take a “community audit” and evaluate if your community is the best fit for you! Be sure to reach out to us and tell us how this episode helped you! Who’s voice is inside your head? Is it telling you that you are amazing? More times than not, that voice inside our head are telling us just the opposite. These voices may be voices from our childhood, remembrances of what a significant parent, teacher, friend, etc. said to you, and those words still play loudly inside of your head!
When we live in awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, we can come to an understanding that we have the CHOICE of what thoughts, feelings, and beliefs we choose to hang onto and let have residence inside our heart and mind!
Living in alignment with your heart means figuring out what is important to YOU, and then taking action in alignment with that truth. Honor the feelings that come up when you take time to pause, reflect, and become aware of your thoughts and self talk.
And sometimes we are too enmeshed with those thoughts, feelings, and beliefs to make an accurate, objective observation concerning them. And that is where community and connection comes into play….and that is what we are talking about on our next episode, so stay tuned!

Do you journal? If so, how do you journal? What do you journal about? Do you have a specific purpose and goal for your journaling?
In today’s episode, Kelly shares that she has always journaled her goals using Rachel Hollis’ Start Your Day journal, where you write 5 things you are grateful for, and then 10 goals written in present tense, as if it is already done/accomplished. But just recently, Kelly was challenged to approach journaling in a very different way.
She was challenged to take some time and reflect back on all the “wins” (big and small) from 2023, and just start writing. To allow the thoughts and feelings to come up, the roadblocks, the friends, the struggles, the things you accomplished ....but the magic happened when Kelly paused for a simple prayer, and then said to herself: “ But if I am honest….” and then she just let her pen start to move and the thoughts just poured out on the page, unfiltered.
Have you ever journalled like this? There are several ways we can approach journaling:
The main message from today’s podcast is don’t be afraid to try a new way of journaling. Allow your heart and pen to lead you and just start writing. We think you are going to enjoy the discoverings and truths you will uncover!

In today’s episode, we get up close and personal with Sara on fears around snowboarding! Because of a broken arm she got her first season, Sara has been carrying around in her subconscious mind the fear of going too fast and falling. She enjoys ski season each year but feels like she’s missing out on some of the fun because of her fears. BUT…..not this year!
Maybe you don’t have a fear of skiing fast or falling, but our guess is that you do have something that causes anxiety and fear in your mind and heart, probably from a past experience and a belief you have acquired because of it!
Check out this episode and I know you will be challenged and encouraged as Sara “walks” us through the mental steps she embraced as well as the physical action steps she took, all to move her away from fear, away from passing this fear onto her boys, and move her towards releasing fear and embracing new thoughts, new beliefs, and creating new memories because of it! Well done Sara!

Episode 100: Take Action & Watch your Confidence Rise!
Yahoo! We are celebrating the 100th episode of “Wake Up and Dream” and we are SO grateful for YOU, our faithful listeners! We have been on this amazing journey of growth and becoming the best version of ourselves, and we would love to reach even MORE people, so thank you for sharing these episodes with your friends and family, following us on Instagram and/or Youtube!
Today’s episode was all about taking ACTION as a way to build confidence! Taking action, making decisions, stepping out in the direction you are feeling lead in can be uncomfortable and even down-right scary at times! But trusting our intuition and mustering up an ounce of bravery is all we need to do to take the next step. Lisa shared the analogy of the flashlight as a visual tool to help us realize we do not need to know the end result. A flash light illuminates the “next step” not the entire pathway. In the same way, we want to encourage you to simply get brave and take that next step. Release fear, perfectionism, and just take that next step!
Life is about taking that next step! We want to evolve into a better version of ourselves, not get to the end of our life realizing we are pretty much the same as decades before. Life isn't’ just about breathing until we breathe our final breath. Life is about living, evolving, becoming, and that all requires us to take that next step, take action! And the beautiful result will be increased confidence to take another step!

Ok, we seriously need to hear from YOU on this topic, because in today’s episode, we took a topic that is familiar to all of us, and dug into our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs around the activity of shopping! Yep, this was such a fun discussion, because as Sara and Lisa shared their past thinking around shopping, they soon discovered that Kelly had the very opposite belief! Amazing how the same task or experience can be approached in a totally different way because of what we are speaking to ourselves and what we are feeling and believing about it.
We used shopping as an example, but this literally can be an awareness exercise you do about anything. What are your thoughts, feelings, and core beliefs around such things as making meals, household chores, your relationships, your time, your money, etc. Having that “heart to heart” with yourself or a coach could help you to identify those deep inner, often hidden, beliefs that keep us stuck feeling and believing the same old things! Time to “flip the script” and start thinking thoughts in alignment with who we want to be and how we want to show up for ourselves and others! You got this, girl!

Did you pick a “Word of the Year” for 2024? This is the lively topic we tackled in today’s episode. We always want to encourage you to do what works best for you!!! Picking a word might just help to keep you focused and growing! Kelly and Lisa both shared how their “word of the year” has been much better than doing resolutions, and really helped them to stay in awareness and unlock their potential and purpose. Sara suggested putting your word of the year on your wall, and perhaps even words you have used in the past to remind you of where you have been and your growth.
Sara rocked the boat by telling us that she has chosen intentionally to NOT have a “word of the year,” and explained why she was feeling a lot of “shoulds” in 2023 so as to get rid of the pressure to “have a word.” Do what feels right for you, and give yourself permission to do what feels right and good for you! It’s your life!

The NEW YEAR is the perfect time to heighten your awareness by looking back over the past year and making some observations (not judgements) about what went well and also the things that were struggles. Kelly suggested doing a “calendar audit” and becoming aware of how you spent your time and energy in 2024. Questions to ask might be:
We often forget all of the wins that will catapult us into awareness as to what is possible in the coming year. So take the time to note the WINS, the times when you “showed up” for yourself or someone in need. And as we recall the struggles of 2023, create some awareness around the feelings, knowing that feelings are often habitual. So we can take control of how we want the future to look by creating new ways of thinking, new traditions and new action steps!
There is no script! You get to make it whatever you want! You only get ONE life, and we get to decide! This is empowering! If you want to heighten your awareness, be sure to check out Episode 96 where Lisa shared some easy tools to help us stay in awareness.
We become what we think about, so stay in awareness of the thoughts that you are choosing, and make a conscious effort to make 2024 better than any other year to date! It is your choice!

We have spent the last 2 weeks hearing some great tips on increasing “AWARENESS” in our daily lives as women who may be struggling with past thoughts and beliefs, women trying to stay AWARE of the thought patterns that are impacting parenting on how we show up as a mom. And today, Lisa rounds out the AWARENESS discussion by introducing an acronym for AWARE, to give us practical “tools” we can use in our everyday life.
In summary, the acronym AWARE reminds us to:
A: Stay in AWARENESS. Set an alarm to remind you several times a day to check in and ask yourself, “What are my dominant thoughts right now? How am I feeling right now?” Or every time you go through a door frame, use it to remind you to check in with yourself and stay in awareness.
W: WRITE out your thoughts, feelings, so that you “stop the spin” and uncover the core beliefs behind all of it.
A: ACT as the third person in the room, observing your thoughts/feelings/actions/results without judgment and full of compassion for the girl with your name. Become that compassionate scientist saying, “Hmmmm, that’s interesting. I wonder why I am thinking/feeling this way?”
R: RELEASE the thoughts that don’t serve you, and REPLACE them with the opposite thought/feeling.
E: EMBRACE the journey, because this is truly a lifelong journey of growth and discovery.
Our aim each week is to help you start living the life you desire and deserve, and we hope this week give you some practical tools to help you do just that!

To continue our discussion around the topic of awareness, Sara focused on how one tool has helped change some of her parenting approaches. This tool we all learned in our Life Coach mindset certification program. It is what has been named, “The Model.” The basic premise is that we often can not control our circumstances, but we can control our thoughts and feelings, and that ultimately determines our actions and our results. It all starts with becoming AWARE of our thoughts and feelings. Our thoughts are often on auto-pilot and they become so habitual that we may even believe we are simply stuck with the results or have no power to change the results.
Listen to this episode, as Sara shares some practical, encouraging tips and tools for parents to use, to heighten their awareness so that they are conscious of the thoughts and feelings that are creating the results. Be compassionate with yourself in the process, as this is a journey, so release the desire for perfection. Next time you are experiencing a frustration in your relationships, pause, become aware, and know that you have an amazing tool to help you create new results that we think you are going to love!

This week Kelly talks about being honest with yourself, preparing yourself to be more aware of your thoughts and past thinking and how thoughts really affect our daily lives. She endured years of toxic thoughts of who she thought she was, going through infertility and depression. The lies we’ve been telling ourselves for months, maybe even years can have a huge impact on our current situation and eventually our future. And in telling ourselves these lies, we begin to think and feel like they really are real and we adopt them as our “truth.”. This can then create a person that you don’t even recognize.
What are you thinking about yourself, what are you telling yourself about who you are? Are you sad, anxious, angry, living in loneliness? If you’re not feeling joyful, content and inspired on a daily basis, it's time to stop the spiral! It requires work, but make it fun- make it an adventure to really learn about who you are and who God created you to be, because she’s in there, just waiting to come alive. What are you ready to uncover about yourself, knowing that if you did it would be life changing? Because you have control of what your life looks like and feels like. You don’t have to BE “depressed” you don’t have to BE “anxiety” you don’t have to FEEL “alone”. You can be YOU, and BE Happy! Be aware of where you go when the anxiety or sadness comes up, and then stop and ask yourself: “Are these thoughts true? Are they serving me?” If they are not, BLESS & RELEASE them.
Decide TODAY that you want to change and be a warrior for your own life.

In today’s episode, we had a lively discussion about routines. It was in some ways a review of the last 3 weeks. We want to encourage you to embrace routines “your way.” If that is a morning routine, an evening routine, or a routine that you start doing with your family. Do it your way!
Lisa challenges the notion of routines with the notion of perfectionism. Oftentimes, we don’t start a new routine because we believe we will not be able to be perfect at it, or be successful at it. Sara and Kelly encouraged us to become aware of the thoughts and beliefs we have around the word “routine” and start there. If you are telling yourself that this new routine is going to be hard, then guess what? It WILL be hard. Find what seems fun and motivating to you, and start small, thinking about doing the routine just ONE day, and then say the same thing the next day. Figure out what inspires and motivates you, and “try it on.”

How do you start your day? We have been talking about creating a morning routine, and Kelly and Sara have shared some ideas in the last 2 episodes. Today, Lisa takes a different angle with morning routines and encourages us to start the day with a question. Before your feet hit the floor and your “to-do” list crowds in on your mental space, take a moment to take a deep breath, allow your body to relax, and ask yourself these questions:
These questions help you to put yourself “on the list.” We start our day by checking in and making our needs and desires a priority. Have this conversation with yourself and honor what comes up. Show yourself the compassion you would give to your dearest friend. You matter. And especially as we head into the holidays, let us encourage you to give yourself this gift! Only you know what you need and oftentimes we also have the ability to give ourselves what it is that we need. We just need to tap into that “empowered self” and then start your day being heart-centered and cared for.

In today’s episode, Sara takes a new angle on Morning Routines, as she shares something she has been using to stay focused, consistent, and motivated with her goal to exercise! So much magic happens when you establish a “morning routine.” In our last episode, we shared how “nothing changes if nothing changes,” and this is true. You can create something new in your life by finding a little time in the morning for YOU!
In this episode, Kelly shared how starting a morning routine of gratitude helped her in the middle of her battle with depression because of her unexplained secondary infertility. During that time, she found Rachel Hollis’ journal on gratitude, and began to wake each day with gratitude for the little things that went well the day before. This helped to change her entire mindset for the day because with practice, she began to go about her day LOOKING for things to be grateful for! And then she recalled them again when she wrote them down the next morning!
Morning routines can be hard to establish, but starting your day with intentional gratitude will be the best gift you can give yourself and your family! Do this for YOU and just watch what happens!

Are you stuck because you believe that your desire has to be some BIG idea that is linked to your life’s purpose or your job or occupation? What if part of your desires are already very much a part of what you do and stem from the core values you hold dear?
In today’s episode, Sara takes a different angle on desires. She shared how giving back has always been very important to her and her family, and recently that has been lived out with her connection and participation with an organization called One Tough Cookie, a non-profit that provides thoughtful care packages for those fighting cancer. Sara serves on the board, but what was striking to Sara was how much of her desire to give back was “caught” by her boys.
What a beautiful example of how living out our desires can have an impact on our children and create this incredible “ripple effect” for generations to come!
So, if you stop and get quiet, your desires may not be so out of reach after all! They are connected to what matters most to you and the impact you want to have on the world, which can start right at home with your family!
What desires do you think your kids are “catching” from your example?

During the last 90 days of 2023, we want to take a deep dive into what is behind our goals and dreams. In today’s episode, Lisa shares more about desires as it relates to life and our goals and aspirations.
Key points:
Lisa shared how she has found her inner desires by getting quiet, spending time by herself in her thoughts while in nature, meditating, journaling, imagining and allowing herself the liberty to suspend doubts, beliefs, and even her current reality.

In today’s episode, we heard from Kelly as she shared more about how to achieve your goals by really getting connected with your desires. What is a desire? Kelly defined it as a strong feeling of wanting something or wishing for something to happen. A true desire is deeply connected with your feelings, but we know that as busy moms, employees, business owners, it can be a challenge to even find the time to connect with what it is that you really want. To get in touch with our desires, Kelly encouraged us to get quiet, really listen to the “small voice” inside us, spend some quiet time journaling, etc. Figuring out what it is that you desire comes as a challenge for a lot of us, yet Kelly encouraged us with this quote, “Nothing is going to change if nothing changes.” And, how true this is.
Kelly shared that with her deeply painful journey with unexplained infertility, she had “lost herself” and didn’t even know what she truly desired, but she knew that she desired NOT to be feeling the way she was, so one day, she made the decision. She made the decision to get her voice back, to begin her journey of self-love, and find out who she really was under all of that grief and loss.

Are you writing your goals every day, yet it seems to not be working? Are you saying your goals on a regular basis yet they seem to fall flat? We were created to connect our thinking mind, our feeling heart, and our body. And so our goals need to evoke our mind, heart, and body!
In today’s episode, Sara and Lisa shared how important it is to evoke emotion when repeating your goals, to stir your positive feeling when you imagine your future self with your goal achieved. Our goals need to be connected to our desires. In Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, we learn that emotion and faith are required for autosuggestion (repeating what you desire or goal) to bring about the results we want. Feelings are indeed the secret! And the truth is this: we get to choose our thoughts and feelings, so choose wisely!
And if this is something you tend to struggle with, evoking positive feelings with your goals, we are here for you! Reach out to us! And share our podcast with anyone looking to achieve lofty goals by the end of 2023!

We use our imaginations all the time! Maybe you can’t remember the last time you used your imagination. Perhaps the last time you really felt like you used your imagination was when you were a child. But the truth of the matter is we are ALWAYS using our imagination, either for our good or not our good. When we ruminate about the “what ifs” of a situation, we are using our imagination. When we envision all the things that might go wrong, we are using our imagination!
Why not instead, start using your mental energy using your imagination for your good. Imagine all that could go right with an upcoming situation. Imagine you crushing that interview. Imagine feeling wildly successful in your new exercise program. Why not? The choice is yours!
And we want to help to encourage you to use your imagination in ways that help you to continue to “wake up” to your true potential, your true passions and pursue what lights you up!

Lisa shared how she has been re-invigorated to write her Now-Goal 50 times a day! This is not an academic to-do but more of a calming form of meditation which in turn energized her. Writing her goals 50 times a day has become not a burden but something she looks forward to doing every day. She has fallen in love with repetition and the idea of expanding her thinking and stretching her faith to believe in things that are far beyond what she has done in the past. Auto-suggestion is when our conscious brain is suggesting a habit, routine, belief, etc. to our subconscious brain through repetition!
Ladies, don’t settle for mere existence! The world needs you to rise up and live your life with passion and purpose. Your potential is limitless! Don’t wait! Your time to “wake up” to your passions and desires is now! And we are here to help you do just that!

We mommas play a special role in our children’s lives, and they don’t come with a manual. In this episode we get raw and real about our own kids and anxiety. With the start of school, I think all kids experience some level of anxiety. It’s hard. And every child is different and we need to approach them based on their personalities and natural bend.
How we show up for them is so important, and they feed off our confidence. Part of our job is to coach our children to work through these uncomfortable feelings, process what is true and what is not, and then remind them of the tools they have at their disposal: teachers, friends, counselors, parents, journaling, etc.
And as Lisa shared, it is not just our younger children that can struggle with anxiety, but our adult children can as well, and giving them a safe space to process and come to a decision that is right for them is something we have the privilege to do for them! Your listening ear, open heart and unconditional love and support will empower them in the midst of uncertainty and worrisome thoughts and feelings! You got this mama!!!
And we are here for YOU, so please reach out to us! Share this episode with a friend/mom that you know is struggling and would be encouraged by listening in.

Last week we talked about the value and importance of creating routines, and today we took that discussion to the next level in talking about having a big, bodacious goal/dream and creating a “Now Goal” that becomes the central focus of your morning routine and throughout your day!
Lisa shared how she has been re-invigorated to write her Now-Goal 50 times a day! This is not an academic to-do but more of a calming form of meditation which in turn energized her. Writing her goals 50 times a day has become not a burden but something she looks forward to doing every day. She has fallen in love with repetition and the idea of expanding her thinking and stretching her faith to believe for things that are far beyond what she has done in the past.

That is life, and it can definitely be frustrating, especially if you are someone that likes routines and order. Here were the highlights from this episode:
So, what space are you finding yourself in? How do you want to make shifts in the midst of all that is going on in your life? Recently, Lisa was hiking in Colorado while on vacation, and she reflected back on how important it was for her hiking success to use her tools. The tools she had access to were her hiking sticks, canned oxygen (didn’t know it was a thang!), and of course her knowledgeable friend that also had the All Trails map downloaded for our reference. In this episode, Kelly and Lisa shared how important it is to “know what your tools are,” not only when in crisis, but also while on vacation or doing your everyday life. Our “tools” may be physical resources or people we can lean in and benefit from their help and expertise. But these “tools” are also your mental tools, like attitude, gratitude, optimism, and awareness. Our “tools” are eager to serve us, if we just allow our heart, mind, and body to accept and access the help we need.
What people in your life would you consider to be beneficial “tools” in your life? Perhaps it is a mentor, a friend, a co-worker. Or maybe it is someone you benefit from more indirectly, like an author or podcast host. What other “tools” do you use to help you navigate your life and business? Perhaps these are planning tools like a calendar or planner. Perhaps these tools are your mental awareness, attitude, intentionality, perspective, perseverance, etc.
Regardless of what your tools may be, the encouragement we want to give you today is to USE them! Your tools are there to serve you and to help you navigate the “waters” of life, so open your heart and mind in awareness that you are more than equipped to do great things with your day, your week, and your life!

Raise your hand if you answered YES to this question! We see you. We are right there with you, wishing it wasn't’ the case, but so often we allow our fear of criticism to stop us from pursuing our dreams, our passions, and this keeps us feeling stuck and unfulfilled!
In this episode, we took a raw and real look at why we “hold back” from talking about our dreams, our journeys, our struggles, our desires; why we “hold back” from showing up and taking action as our authentic self. We care too much about what people might think of us. We put too much thought energy into worrying if we will be accepted or approved or liked by others. We seek validation outside of ourselves, and it leaves us feeling empty and lacking. Why? Well, we explored a short passage in Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, in the section called “Fear of Criticism.” Here is the quote that Sara read from page 269: “The fear of criticism robs people of their initiative, destroys their power of imagination, limits their individuality, takes away their self-reliance, and does them damage in a hundred other ways.”
Four tips we shared with our listeners if you are fearing criticism:

Do you have goals and passions but have not taken action to “make them happen?” Did you hit a disappointment or perceived failure and now feel stuck there? This episode spoke to all 3 of us even as we were recording it.
We dove into a section in the Chapter called “Persistence” in the book Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill. Sara and Kelly shared how they have been feeling like they have not been taking action in the pursuit of their dreams, and feeling stuck in what to do to get rid of that feeling.
Here are a few of the Symptoms of Lack of Persistence we touched on:
Failure to recognize and clearly define exactly what you want.
Willingness, even eagerness, to quit at the first sign of defeat.
Lack of organized plans, placed in writing where they may be analyzed.
The habit of neglecting to move on ideas, or grasp opportunity when it presents itself
Wishing instead of willing.
Habit of compromising with poverty instead of aiming at riches–a general absence of ambition to be, to do, and to own.

Have you been struggling to believe something will come true in your life? Are your thoughts and beliefs actually working against you? In today's episode, Sara shares how she put one simple mantra into work first in her mind and then in her actions. During her recent trip to Italy, there was a train that went on strike, so they were not able to use their tickets, but didn’t get a refund. And Sara made the decision to step out in belief that this money would be refunded to her, and it was! She took action in alignment with her goal being achieved, she said her mantra of “I am so happy and grateful now that money comes to me in expected and unexpected ways.” And with repeated that mantra came a child-like, playful faith filled with lightness and anticipation. Sara released the time line and the “how” and simply took action after new ideas were “downloaded” into her mind because she was staying in a state of belief. Sara stayed connected with her goal every day, and grew her child-like belief by emotionally connected to her goal and feeling the joy of that money being refunded to her. When we stay open, unexpected ways and means present themselves.
We referenced the book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill when he said, “Your belief or faith is the element that determines the action of your subconscious mind.” If you would like to read more about growing your belief, please know when you order using this link, you are helping to support the continued production of our podcast. Mama guilt is a real thing! Whether you feel guilty for spending time away from your kids or feel guilty that you are not spending enough time with your kids, mama guilt can be a big weight on your shoulders. But does it just come with the territory, or can we choose to think differently.
In today’s episode, our goal is to encourage you to create goals and give value to setting time aside for people connections. We are made for connection. Add connecting with certain people to your “to-do” list and choose to feel good about that. Having a mix of task goals and people connection goals will give your summer the balance and satisfaction that you are desiring. Mama guilt doesn’t have to be your dominant mode of feeling! What are the things and people that are most important to you? Write your goals down and add them to a time block, and make the rest of this day, week, month, year, or season intentional and free of the mama guilt!

Episode 71: Growing your Belief
We started off today with a Bob Proctor quote, “You don’t have to know how. You just have to believe you can.” Isn’t that the truth? When we believe it will be done (and step out in faith/ belief it is already done) then the “how” will present itself.
That is what this episode is all about.
Lisa shared how she had been reinvigorated to write out her “now goals” and tape them to her bathroom mirror, and repeat them several times a day, evoking the feeling of increased belief and faith. She wanted to sell her truck and purchase a newer car for herself, and so she had some fun with this. She stepped out and like a little child, believed that it was going to happen and her job was to believe and then be ready to receive. Maybe not ready to receive the goal, but often before that happens, when we stay “open to receive” what we receive are what we like to call “divine downloads,” creative ideas that we would not have had if we weren’t in this state of expected belief. Yet, as we stay “open to receive” ideas, and step out and take action in alignment with our faith, amazing things happen and goals are brought to completion!
We want to encourage our listeners to grow their belief and step out in that faith, expecting to receive and watch these things to happen in your life as well.
All 3 of us have read and studied Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, and we are encouraging you to get a copy and learn along with us. Here is the link to order yours: book: https://amzn.to/3JM7tzp Know that your purchase helps us keep this podcast on the air. Thank you.

Have you reached a goal recently and now wonder what is next? Or have you been so busy with the “to-do’s” of family, parenting, job, etc. that you have forgotten about your own passions, desires, and goals? If so, this episode will inspire you and remind you that you can always pause, reset, restart, and refocus on the things that matter most to you.
In today’s episode we encouraged our listeners to get back to “your roots” meaning, get back to getting quiet and listening to your thoughts, feeling, desires, and aspirations. Get refocused on what it is that matters most to you. Allow your heart to remind you of your passion and purpose. Kelly, Sara, and Lisa have all been on a journey and for Kelly moving back to Colorado signifies the end of a chapter or goal, and now she is asking herself, “Now what?” What direction does she want for this new chapter of her life? And we would encourage you to do the same. To begin a habit of getting quiet, perhaps first thing in the morning, and spending some quiet moments with yourself asking your soul these questions:
We want to help you awaken the desires and dreams you have inside your soul. In this episode, Lisa coaches both Sara and Kelly on questions that aid in helping them to discover and narrow in on what matters most to them based on past experiences in their life. You can do this exercise through journaling or even using a voice memo app, but we modeled how a coach can play a role in reflecting back to you some of the key words you used and possible core values.
Here are the 3 questions Kelly and Sara were asked:

Maybe you have heard the words “core values” but do you know what your core values are, or the purpose of having core values? In this episode, we introduced this valuable tool to help us discover and live aligned with what matters most to us!
Lisa shared that being involved with a direct sales company first introduced her to dreaming and asking herself, “What is your WHY?” This got her thinking beyond her present existence, but over time, the question lost its power, becoming trite and overused. Since then, Lisa has taken several Core Values Assessments and has found this exercise, along with journaling, to be instrumental in understanding what matters most to her.
Knowing your core values has two big benefits:

If you have been following this series, you have learned how Sara went from feeling overwhelmed, worried, and full of mom guilt to Sara doing the inner work we love to talk about, and it resulted in her anchoring her thoughts and emotions on one word: Excitement!
In this episode, Sara shares how by doing this inner work of shifting her thoughts and emotions prompted some incredible “flow” and creative ideas for things the boys could do while mom and dad were away, but how one little stuffed animal, name Picco created such incredible excitement and connection, even those they were a half a world apart from each other physically.
Sara shares some of her travel adventures, highlights, and tips with us, so if you have any plans for travel as a couple or family, we would encourage you to check this episode out!

If you haven’t listened to Episode 65, we would encourage you to do so, as this is really Part 2 of a 3-part series where we have been getting a sneak peak into Sara’s life. In Episode 65, Sara shared how she shifted her thinking around her upcoming trip to Italy with her husband. Before, she was filled with feelings of anxiety, worry, mama guilt, and all the things. But doing this inner work allowed her to shift her thinking and therefore shift her emotions around this trip, and ultimately created the results that she desired. It is such a magical story!
In this episode, Sara shared more of the specific ideas that she put into place in the days prior to leaving, and how focusing on the word “excitement” played a key role in allowing her heart and mind to remain at peace. Listen in to here how Sara “stayed in a state of flow” because she was anchored in this focus on making this a time of “excitement” for not only her anniversary trip, but also created excitement around how to keep the boys engaged and included in their trip as well. These ideas are genius!
Do you get anxious about traveling without your kiddos? Or perhaps you are a young mom and the thought of leaving them creates a lot of unsettled emotions. If this is you, you will be so encouraged by Sara and how she put this inner work to work for her benefit, but more than that, she modeled for her boys how to make a conscious decision as to the feelings you desire to have in the future, and start feeling them now. This will give you the results you want, just by focusing on one word and feeling all the good feelings sparked by that word.

It is so rewarding to see in someone the shifts because they are open to thinking new thoughts and feeling different emotions. When Sara and her husband got married in Italy, they promised to make a return trip to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. And that time has now come, but with it has come a lot of anxiety and fear, especially thinking of leaving their 7 year old twin boys for 10 days.
Sara gave us a up-close-and-personal look into the anxious thoughts and feelings of overwhelm that were plaguing her last month. But Sara did not allow herself to stay there. She decided to answer this questions: “How do I want my May to look like? How do I want to feel about May and this upcoming trip?” And the word she picked was EXCITEMENT, and that is the “lens” she began to see everything through. Instead of being worried about the “what if’s” she began to envision the exciting things her boys would experience with their special time with their grandparents. She began to talk about the time away differently, as if it was going to be an exciting time for the boys to have their own vacation with grandma and grandpa.
Sara also shared some of the fun, practical things they did to help the boys “experience” Italy with them, as well as create some fun while home with their grandparents! She began to see the “gift” that she was giving them by going away with their dad. During the tough moments, she would remind herself of this truth: “Independence is learned by experience.” And this is how we all grow.

Have you ever been on a private retreat? Scheduled a weekend away for just “me, myself, and I?” Checked into a hotel room for an overnight by yourself?
As a busy woman, mom, wife, employee, business owner, etc, we often forget to “refuel.” Some of us “refuel” by spending time with people, yet some of us “refuel” by being alone. The point is this: we need to prioritize and create opportunities for us to “refuel” so that we can reflect, re-think, return to our true thoughts and beliefs, and feel centered and grounded again. In this episode, Lisa shares how the “storms” of her life have brought her to a place where she knew she needed a retreat. Lisa shares how the fast pace of life and all of the expectations and responsibilities can leave us drained, empty, and beaten down.
In this episode, Lisa describes some of the things she experienced as she allowed her body to slow down, her breathing to deepen, and her heart to become reconnected with God, at the center of her being. She describes how she saw a beautiful example of surrender, peace, and simple “being” (and not doing) in nature, in the bubbling brook and the trees waiting to bud out. Nature provides this beautiful reminder of the peace we too can have when we rest in our “being” and let go of the “doing” if even for a short time. Lisa mentioned a book that has been helping her quiet her soul and look at all the “parts” inside of us (the child-parts that are wounded, hurt, disappointed, abandoned, angry, etc) and how to best care for those “parts” of yourself is to help your parts feel safe, validated, and listened to. To validate the feelings that come up, allowing them a safe space. And we can do this for the “parts” inside of yourself, but we can also do this for each other, as we empathize with another’s thoughts and feelings. What people need more than anything else is for someone to take the take to empathize with them.
We realize getting away for a weekend may not be doable for everyone, but we hope that this episode helped you realize the power of retreating, looking inward, and slowing down enough to allow your body to rest but also for your soul to be renewed and refreshed and recentered.

What if we allowed ourselves to release the timeline? When we are so focused on the goal or the destination, we can miss all of the lessons, growth and memories that could happen on the way to the end goal. In today’s episode, we take a closer look at the value of releasing the timeline on our goals, expectations, and dreams.
Sara shared how expectations set by society and the academic benchmarks can add unnecessary pressure on kids to be successful and extra pressure on moms to make sure their kids are meeting these benchmarks. And in the process of focusing on the end goal, we miss out on having fun and enjoying the “journey.” If the goal is for your child to enjoy reading, we don’t want to create an atmosphere of shame and pressure. Release the timeline and simply enjoy the process.
Whether you have goals with your career or expectations with your relationships, releasing the timeline can help you stay present, which prepares us for what is coming in the next chapter. And even when there are set backs, perceived failures, or disappointments, remember this: your current reality does not have to define your future success! Keep doing the inner work of repairing and preparing! We are cheering you on!

In this episode, we had fun with an analogy comparing our life to a baby shark living inside a fish tank. Sara had read a LinkedIn article, shark-growth-theory-raman-dua and it said this, “Did you ever think what will happen if we grow a shark in a fish tank, will it still grow the same size. Nope, it’s not like that , a shark will grow not more than 8 inches if you put it into a tank and the same shark will grow 8 feet in the ocean . The shark will never outgrow its environment and the same is true about you. Our growth and progress of life depends upon our environment and surroundings.”
Listen in to hear our lively discussion around this concept. Our environment certainly plays a role in our growth, and realizing that in a lot of ways, we have some control over that, can be empowering. We shared how yes to be stuck in a “fish tank” can definitely thwart your growth, your vision of who you truly want to become and the impact you can have on this world. Yet, even if we feel like we are in the big “ocean” swimming with the bigger fish, do we find ourselves “playing it safe,” hanging out in our comfort zone, afraid of swimming into unknown waters? We had a lot of fun using this analogy and we would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Today we took a look at emotions as it relates to release and surrender. Oftentimes we have been taught or believe that certain emotions are good and others bad. We tend to judge our emotions. But what if we instead saw our emotions (all of them) as a gift, a way for us to release and surrender the things we are holding onto.
We see this release beautifully in nature, through rain. These “tears from heaven” serve a purpose, as the clouds get too heavy and need to release the moisture. It is necessary for growth and vital to the life cycle. The same is true of releasing the emotions that are pent up inside. In this episode we encouraged our listeners to “release” your feelings by journaling. Getting the thoughts and feelings out of your head and onto paper is a powerful exercise in awareness and can help you to process and even shift your perspectives and understanding of your emotions.
We referenced “How are you, Really?” by Jenna Kutcher as a great resource to help you process your emotions. Here is the link to grab your copy: https://amzn.to/44fWnv0

Are you holding onto thoughts and feelings that are full of worry, fear, or “what if’s?” In today’s episode, Lisa shares how learning how to let go of the things that she couldn’t control became magnified during her cancer journey. Anxiety and fear gripped her and left her feeling totally out of control, and ultimately brought her to a place of surrender. Can you relate?
It is a natural instinct to want to control the outcome or situation, but the truth is that we can’t control much of what happens in life, but we CAN control what we think and the “lens” we choose to see any situation with.
Awareness is the first step! We can only change something if we are aware of it. The next step is releasing the letting go of the thoughts and feelings that are not serving you. This can be done by pausing, taking a “time out” to breathe, exhaling the thoughts that you are holding onto, and inhaling peace and compassion for yourself. And with each exhale comes surrender and each inhalation comes trust. This is definitely a process but the more we begin to release and surrender the more we will be able to truly start living!

Sara started us off by sharing that she has had a tough week and came to this recording session “just not feeling good about herself” and all the things! Kelly was quick to remind her of what was printed four times on the sweatshirt she was wearing: Be Kind, Be Kind, Be Kind, Be Kind.
Why is it SO easy to be kind to others, to offer a kind word of encouragement to someone else, to have a positive thought about others and yet that same kindness is NOT given to ourselves. Yikes! That is a big “ah-ha” for many of us!
So why is that? Do we feel that we don’t deserve kindness? Have we created a belief paradigm that says that we need to work harder and we are not allowed mistakes or short-comings?
Being kind to ourselves is a gift on 2 levels: It is a gift we give to ourselves because it helps us to process our emotions, to understand how past experiences impact how we interpret our present reality. The second gift is the gift we give to our kids, as they watch us process the tough things in life, they will in turn be able to pull from what we have modeled for them, to help them navigate through their own challenges.
Give yourself a look in the mirror and give yourself a “high five” because YOU matter. You are the most important person. Do you believe that? On a scale from 1 to 10, where would you rate yourself if asked if you were a risk-taker? In today’s episode we took a closer look at our comfort level with “stepping outside the box” and taking risks. Sara shared how she saw herself more as a risk-taker in college and the years to follow, and how having a family has caused her to feel like she needs to consider her kids and family when making decisions (which is of course a good thing) but that is has also hindered her risk-taking in some ways.
What influences whether we take risks or tend to stay in our comfort zone? Some of this has to do with our personalities and natural bends, but we can also be influenced by seeing pertinent people in our own lives taking risks and being inspired to follow their lead. Lisa shared how the example her parents set as she was growing up played an influential role in her desire to take risks and live intentionally.
Sara mentioned the book, Burn the Boats: Toss Plan B Overboard and Unleash Your Full Potential , by Matt Higgins, and how it stirred her to think about the power of going “all in” when it comes to your dreams, and not even having a Plan B.
Who inspires you to take risks in alignment with pursuing your goals and dreams? Are you hanging around people that seem very content to live in their “comfort zone?” What if you took time to journal and answer the question: What excites you? What dreams set your heart on fire with the very thought of it? Then continue journaling with these prompts:
As you know, we here at Wake Up and Dream are big proponents in journaling to process our innermost thoughts, desires, and feelings! So, grab a pen and notebook, and let your thoughts flow!
And if this episode inspired you to take action, “burn the boats” of Plan B, and take that risk, we would LOVE to hear about it!

Have you fallen prey to the thinking, “I just have X amount of years to hang in there until retirement. Then I can start living the life I want!”? This thinking is more common than we care to admit, but it doesn’t have to be YOUR thinking!
In today’s episode, we talked about the difference between thinking that “life” begins when you hit that retirement goal, and how that mindset can leave us feeling stuck, frustrated, and unfulfilled. Yet, there is another choice and that is to start “living” now, and making intentional plans for “mini retirements” along the way.
Have you written out the things you want to do in retirement? Why are you waiting? Thinking differently can open your heart and mind to creating memories NOW, if even on a smaller scale, and this will help make the time until retirement more enjoyable and meaningful.
Listen in for some real life examples of what we are doing, and the role our parents played in this way of thinking and believing. And if you are a parent, you definitely should listen in! Our tomorrows are not guaranteed, so let’s encourage each other to make the most of each day, month, and year, and start living NOW!

Feeling out of control? Struggling with your thoughts and feelings? Kelly shared some simple and impactful recommendations on how to start your day. We want to encourage you to take responsibility and control the start of your day! It is a gift we can give to ourselves!
Kelly referenced the book Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and Rob Actis as a great resource to help you get started. The book encourages you to create a habit of starting your day with these simple, doable practices. Get in the habit of getting up one hour earlier than you usually do, and give yourself the gift of time for YOU. We can’t control how the rest of our days will be, but this one hour we can, and it can change your whole attitude and approach to your day, and the situations and people you encounter. Consider this one hour each day not as another “to-do” but as a gift that you give yourself.
The book uses the acronym SAVERS to help you remember the important parts of your “miracle morning.” These are:
S- Silence (5 minutes)
Breathe through your heart and focus on your breath.
A- Affirmations (5 minutes)
Some examples: I am beautiful. I am grateful for everything. I am consistent. I believe in my potential and not my past. I have the ability to change and create anything in my life, starting now.
V- Visualization (5 minutes)
Take these minutes to close your eyes and visualize your dream job or the home you dream about living in. Evoke your senses and create some emotion as you visualize this as your reality.
E- Exercise (20 minutes)
Don’t have to go to a gym. Put on some headphones and find a video on Youtube.
R- Read (20 minutes)
This is not reading on your phone! This is a self-improvement book or personal growth book to expand your thinking and feed your brain “good stuff.”
S- Scribing/Journaling (5 minutes)
This is so important, to get your thoughts out on paper. Maybe this will be about what happened yesterday, or what you just read, or how you are feeling after spending the last hour focusing on you.

In today’s episode, we reviewed Bob Proctor’s definition of a paradigm as a set of habitual behaviors and beliefs that almost exclusively determine our results. Paradigms are neither good nor bad; they just are. Growing our awareness helps us determine which paradigms are serving us and moving us in the direction we desire, and which are not! Sara shared with us the two aspects needed in order to change your paradigm: 1) Becoming Aware, and 2) Taking Action. There is a big difference between knowing what to do and actually DOING it! Can you relate?
Changing a paradigm is deeper than just changing a behavior. Pick just ONE paradigm to focus on and go “all in” on that one thing.
Awareness is the first step. Sara gave this example in the episode: If you want to change your paradigm around yelling at your kids, you first need to become consciously aware that you are doing it and have a desire to work on you! What are the thoughts and feelings you have around this paradigm? What are the thoughts and feelings you desire to have around the new paradigm of “I remain calm and give myself a 15-second deep breath break.” Yelling is a habit, and changing our behavior starts first with learning to change our thoughts and feeling and deciding, and even visualizing how we WANT to show up in those situations. Just give yourself those 15-seconds can help you show up for your kids! And your attitude will be contagious. Remember, where your focus goes, your energy flows!
Give this a try and be sure to let us know what new paradigm you are committed to creating in your life and/or business. Thanks again for joining us! Today’s topic is Paradigms! Before I joined my business coaching program, I had never heard of paradigms and had no idea what they were let alone how they impacted my daily life and my preferred future! This is huge because Bob Proctor’s definition of paradigms is this: A set of habitual behaviors and beliefs that almost exclusively determine your results. So what does this mean? It means that we have habitual thinking, beliefs, and behaviors running our life, and so much of them we are not even aware of.
But the good news is this: Paradigms are not good or bad, but can be either, depending on the thoughts, beliefs, and habitual behaviors we CHOOSE each day! This allows us to take back our power, to take responsibility for our results, and step in the direction of the preferred future we desire!
Becoming AWARE is the first step to creating the paradigms that serve you, instead of just running in the “ruts” of our “stinkin’ thinking!” In this podcast, we help you understand what paradigms are, the role they play in our lives, and also give you some practical suggestions for helping you uncover the paradigms that are holding you back from that preferred future you desire! Living life with passion and purpose is often birthed out of a challenging experience or life event. Today we chatted with Marie Camacho, the founder of One Tough Cookie, a non-profit organization on mission to support and encourage those going through cancer as well as their caregivers. Marie is a mom of 2 and a Breast Cancer survivor. During her battle, she was so grateful for the love and support she received, but also knows that for many, this can be a lonely and scary time, and that is where Marie’s heart shines brightest!
Marie wanted to use her pain for purpose so she founded One Tough Cookie in November 2019 and it has been growing ever since! Her organization puts together care packages and delivers them to cancer patients in local hospitals in Connecticut and New Jersey - This year, they plan to expand to New York as well! OTC has delivered over 1000 care packages in the area and sends care packages across the US to those tough cookies that have been nominated on her site.
Marie wants patients to know that they never have to feel alone and her organization has a passion for being there and making them feel loved and supported.
Want to get involved and make an impact through OTC? They always are looking for monthly sponsors, volunteers, and corporate sponsorship so they can continue serving. You can also donate products or sponsor a “Tough Cookie” right from the website. So be sure to check out all the ways you can get involved on the site: https://www.supportonetoughcookie.com/
And if you are a patient, you can reach out to Marie directly at info@supportonetoughcookie.com.

If you have ever felt stuck in a job, career, relationship, etc. or experience the feeling of “being on the fence” about a decision or a life direction, you know it is a horrible place to be!
So, here is the question to ask yourself: Do you want the best for you?
In this episode, Kelly shares that we make 35,000 decisions each and every day, yet some of us get stuck when wanting to make a decision in our life, family, career, or otherwise! What stops us?
These seem like the two obvious reasons we can stay stuck or not make that decision. But is it really that we don’t know what to do? NO, because if we are honest, we can always find the resource to help us know what we would need to do. It is more about WHO we are BEING, who we are showing up as, and the mindset that is dominant that is the issue.
Join us in our FREE Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wakeupanddream/ where you will have access to an incredible article by Bob Proctor called “Decision.” We need to see ourselves in a future memory. We need to tap into our imagination and feel it, breathe it, and let the emotions of it come alive in full color.
Kelly also referred to a podcast by Mel Robins, and in it she encouraged anyone struggling with confidence in themselves and their decision-making ability to do these 3 things each and every morning:
You are worthy of not only dreaming great things for yourself and your family, but you already have everything inside of YOU to make the Decision in alignment with wanting the best for yourself!

Question for you: Do you believe that life happens TO you or that you have the choice to create the life you desire? So many would probably say the latter, but do their lives aptly reflect this as their truth? Today’s episode dives into the fact that we were created to create! We are different from the animal and plant kingdom, as we are made in the image of our Creator, and that means we were created with the ability to create…to create our lives, create our days, and create our future realities!
We are always creating results! Yep, that’s true. But are we creating the results we desire? Lisa shares how our dominant thoughts create our feelings, which spark action or lack of action and ultimately produce the results we have in our lives. How about you? Are your dominant thoughts like this: “I don’t have a choice. I am stuck in this job and should just be grateful because it pays the bills. If I can just make it to retirement, then I will get to do what I truly want.” This thinking will keep you stuck, frustrated and unfulfilled.
Sara encouraged us that creating your life may seem like a daunting task, but we get to also create our days and the moments in our days! And guess what? Your kids are watching you, and what attitude and action you take towards your dreams will play a huge role in how they approach their life as they grow up. Lead by example and take those risks, step outside of your comfort zone and CREATE the life that others will only dream of!

There are many different kinds of coaches out there, but many people are unclear or misinformed about what a Life and Mindset Coach is so we thought we would tackle that in this episode. Each of us hired a business coach about 2 years ago, and when she pivoted her business to mindset, and then offered us the opportunity to become certified Mindset and Life Coaches, we were all in. Because what we have learned is that to become successful in whatever we are aspiring to accomplish must first be well grounded in the inner mindset work.
Here are 3 things that a Mindset/Life coach can help you with:

Today we had the privilege of chatting with certified Life and Mindset Coach, Lauren Dieckmann. Lauren is a wife, mom, and former teacher that was on auto-pilot, checking off all the boxes with her life goals to become a wife, mom, teacher, etc. but then she “hit a wall” and started feeling like she had lost who she really was. That was when she decided to invest in herself and hire a coach. This was a turning point for Lauren, as she started to ask herself the important questions of “What do I want?”
Lauren shared how she used to yell at her kids, and once she was able to heighten her awareness, with the support of a coach, she realized that she had a choice on how she was “showing up” for her kids, and then created a new narrative in her mind around how she would “show up” with her kids. One of her favorite quotes is, “I always thought that the "thriving" would come when everything was perfect, and what I learned is that it's actually down in the mess that things get good…If you can't find happiness in the ugliness, you're not going to find it in the beauty, either.”― Joanna Gaines
Because of the life-changing benefits Lauren experienced working with a coach, she decided to become a coach herself. She is on a mission to help moms live a life they truly desire. You can connect with Lauren on Instagram @laurendieckmann or email her at lauren@laurendieckmannllc.com

Is dreaming about your future and what you want your life to look like challenging for you? For many of us, getting excited about our goals and life pursuits was easier when we were in high school and college. First goals to graduate, then college, graduate, land a great job, get married and start a family….or some version of that. But when we reach all of these goals, we can find ourselves in the midst of raising a family or a career, and completely forget how to dream!
Kelly encouraged us to “peel the onion” to discover our inner desires and the things that are most important to us. And the key to this is to visualize the details of your dreams, the sounds, smells and the feelings it evokes. This is KEY! This takes time and could be done through journaling or talking with a trusted friend. We are here for you and want to help you uncover those dreams. So, if you want to talk to one of us and discover what is at the core of your biggest desires and dreams, schedule a Discovery Call - message us for the link!

Did you know that most people set wrong goals? Yep, it’s true!
Last week we started this discussion with “What do you want your life to look like?” and learned about a great tool called the Wheel of Life, to help us become aware of where we are at with our goals and habits in the different areas of our life so we can then ask ourselves, “Where would I like to be? How would I like my life to look like when my goal is achieved?”
In this episode we dive deeper into Goals. Most people set “Should Goals” like “ I should lose 10 lbs. I should be more organized.” and the list could go on and on. These types of goals are motivated by guilt and focus on changing a behavior, but this often doesn’t produce REAL growth. Goals that bring about inner growth and transformation are the goals we want to focus on. And for more training, tools and connections, we invite you to join our FREE Facebook group here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/wakeupanddream/

We are so excited for the start of Season 2 because Season 2 is all about YOU! All 3 of us have become certified Life and Mindset Coaches and we are taking our podcast to the next level, with YOU as our main focus! In this episode we dive in and explore the question: “What do you REALLY want?” As women, it is almost like it is our default setting to make sure that everyone else has what they want, and often to downplay our own wants and desires.
During these first episodes we want to help you take a non-judgemental, objective look at the areas of your life, and evaluate how you are feeling about it right now. We introduced the tool, The Wheel of Life, and invite you to reflect on the different areas of our life, and give it a rating from 1-10. Some of the areas may include family and friends, health, personal growth, fun/recreation, business/career, romance, physical environment, selfcare, and finances.
We just started the conversation, but the real connection and continued support will be in our new Facebook community! We want to create a safe space where you can go deeper into the topics, ask questions, get the support, tools, and ideas as well as connect with other women that are going through the same things. In our Facebook Group, there will also be opportunities for further training as well as group coaching experiences. Join us here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wakeupanddream/

We are SO excited for 2023 and we can’t wait to tell you more! Here is the punchline: We’re expanding! What do we mean by that? Well, in Season 1 we focused on taking a quote each week and expanding on it, how it was impacting our lives, how we could relate to the content, and the challenges, shortfall, and successes we have had in our personal and professional lives around the topic the quote inspired. You got to know us, our unique perspectives, and how we support and encourage each other to continue doing this “inner work.” And our goal was to inspire and empower you to do the same.
But here is where it gets exciting! Because of our own personal growth and development, our vision for this podcast has expanded! This past year, each of us have become certified Life and Mindset Coaches, and we are ready to serve YOU, our listeners, even more. We have created a FREE Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wakeupanddream/ and we would LOVE for you to join us. We have created this group with you in mind. We will be diving deeper into the topics discussed each week in our podcast, plus a safe, positive and encouraging space for you to grow, to learn, and to connect with other women. We know you will love this community, and our goal is simply to inspire, equip, and empower you to design a life you love, that you get excited about, and a life that causes you to “wake up and DREAM.”

We are so thrilled to be launching SEASON 2! And we are pivoting and expanding all with YOU in mind! In season 1, we used a quote each week to launch our discussion around how we have been applying this mindset to our daily lives and businesses. We love that we each bring a unique perspective to this inner work and our goal each week was to encourage you to dig in and do the same…..and now we are prepared and better equipped to support and empower you in Season 2!
During this past year, each of us have become certified Life and Mindset Coaches, and we are so excited to help you with a strategic, systematic approach to “waking up and dreaming!” It’s true! So many of us are stuck in “Groundhog Day” doing the same thing day after day, with no real awareness as to what we really want out of our life. Perhaps we are satisfied with how things are going for the most part, and grateful for all that we have, but still have this nagging feeling that there has to be MORE to this life. THAT is what Season 2 is all about!
PLUS, we are expanding our support and connection by adding a FREE Facebook Group! Join us as we dive deeper into each week’s topics and offer more teachings, trainings, and coaching as we face the challenges of daily life, learn to be more mindful and aware of our thoughts/beliefs that either are serving us or NOT.
As women, we believe it is vital to our personal growth to feel connected! Our FREE Facebook group aims to be a safe, encouraging, and supportive space where we each will begin and/or continue this transformational process of BECOMING all that we were created to be. We are back with Criss Madrigal, mother of 3, and an incredible mindset coach for moms with children who have what she is calling “invisible disabilities.” We had so much fun with Criss a few weeks back, and felt that our listeners could benefit from more of her practical, encouraging and beneficial “tools” for the WO-MOMS out there!
In our first interview, Criss shared her incredible “freebie” to help create a meaningful and beneficial connection between your child’s teacher and you! If you missed that episode be sure to go back and listen to Episode 30. This is an invaluable tool to help support not only your child(ren) but to aid their teacher in getting to know more about your child and how he/she learns.
Criss has created an online community for working mothers to connect, as well as coaching women to create a mindset that will empower them to be the best mom for their children. We need to be a woman first, even before we “show up” in our other relationships. This is where she came up with the term WO-MOM, meaning we need to be a woman first and take care of ourselves first, and that will then allow us to be the best mom we can be. Criss is passionate about helping you to become this amazing wo-mom, to realize you have value and purpose independent of your role as wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. And she does this by empowering you to work on your mindset, because that is where it all starts!
We encourage you to connect with Criss in her FREE facebook community that is absolutely INCREDIBLE to learn more and get the support you are desiring from like-minded people. Or you can reach out to her on Instagram @crissmadrigal or email her at criss@crissmadrigal.com.

Quote: " Make your vision so clear that your fears become irrelevant." ~Valerie L. Conley
We are nearing the end of 2022 and many of us are starting to think about our goals and aspirations for the new year! Do you have a clear vision as to what you desire your future to be? Vision is more than goal-setting; it really becomes the “fuel” to help you set your goals. So, how do we create a clear vision so that our fears become irrelevant?
Lisa shares a little bit about an acronym she has used with her team, to help them think about their vision or their ultimate desired “destination.” The GPS is an acronym that provides the tools needed to create that clear vision. The “G” stands for Goals that require Growth, the “P” for Persistence, and the “S” for “Stay in your Lane.”
Knowing what your default settings are is necessary so that we can begin to create NEW thoughts. Kelly shared how important it is to journal, pray, and/or talk with a trusted friend, as a means to get those thoughts out in the open. Once we get honest with ourselves, we can offer our brain a NEW thought that can literally help us create a new default setting. Sara talked about the importance of feeling this new truth and making it your own! Kelly also shared how the Enneagram has helped her identify her past thinking and better understand why she thinks the way she does. This awareness can propel us to adopt a growth mindset, and move us past the fear and in the direction of creating a life we love and design!
Stay tuned for the next episodes as we share our VISION for 2023 and the next NEW Season of our “Wake Up and Dream Podcast.” We are super excited about what we have planned and can’t wait to share it with you…..

Today we had an incredible conversation with the amazing and inspirational powerhouse, Lisa Guillot. Lisa is a certified transformational mindset coach and personal branding expert. She is also the founder of Be Bright Lisa Coaching and Clear Vision You. Here is her quote:
“Change is a function of altering what you are doing, to improve something that is already possible in our reality. Transformation is a function of altering the way you are being to create something that is currently not possible in your reality.” ~From The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss
Lisa has an amazing history of success in graphic design with some well-known companies such as Pottery Barn Kids, Sephora, Papersource and Gap, but in 2009 she decided to break out on her own and start her own company and had some great success there as well. But Lisa describes how 2013 was the true beginning of her own personal transformation. Lisa was introduced to this quote and this book The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss during her Transformational Life and Leadership Coach training. Within the book, the author describes the desire for transformation. It uses the illustration of the caterpillar (your life is ok, but you are desiring more) and when you go into the chrysalis it is a time of vulnerability, darkness, struggle, yet the deep desire is that fact that they don’t want to emerge from the cocoon still a caterpillar! They long to be transformed and become something totally different from who they were at the beginning. This is what Lisa does with her clients, as she helps them to discover who they are at their core and then how to brand themselves in their life and business.
Lisa then goes on to explain her own transformation which you are going to LOVE! Her story is incredible! If you are a high-achiever that rides on the stress of success, you will be so inspired by her personal story of transformation. This journey greatly influences her mission to help women conceptually see the bright essence of who they are as their true self.
Lisa is such an amazing transformational mindset coach and personal branding expert, and if you would like to learn more about what she offers or wants to work with her, follow her podcast: Find Your Clear Vision. Quote: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”
How do you view challenges? In today’s episode we are diving in and talking about all things “personal growth.” We are faced with challenges every day, and even seasons of challenge, if you will. Some challenges we willingly choose and others are circumstantial that we don’t have a lot of control over, but how we show up and the personal growth that we allow to happen in and through us is totally up to us!
Listen in to this episode as Lisa starts off sharing how she stepped into the challenge of something new and scary when she joined her direct sales company, and how this propelled her into an exciting and rewarding journey of personal growth that she is forever grateful for. Kelly shares how her challenge of infertility was not by her choosing, obviously, but that chapter also served to grow and make her into the person she is today. Sara also reflected back on the last year and the tremendous growth she has experienced through the challenges of changing jobs, and buying an investment property.
If you are looking to be inspired to step out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself in some area of your life, and GROW and BECOME, you are going to love this episode!

Through her own challenges with parenting her adoptive son, as well as hearing the heart cries of parents longing to connect with their emotionally intense children, she has created some valuable tools and resources to offer.
Angie shares how she desperately wanted to connect with her son, and so went about seeking resources, therapies, books, etc. but nothing seemed to help. It was only when she started working with a mindset coach that she began to take control of her own thoughts around these challenges, and started understanding that she did not have to play the role of victim, but could choose to think differently and therefore “show up” differently in her relationship with her son. This made a total shift in their relationship! As a certified mindset coach, she has created a Facebook community for parents, as well as opportunities to work 1:1 with her. Angie’s heart is for you parents and has so many tools to help you in your relationship! You don’t have to do this alone!

Quote: “I allow myself to rest and start again tomorrow.”
Rest, what’s that??? For too many of us this question hits close to home. As busy moms and successful business owners, entrepreneurs, and simply amazing women, we often forget that rest is an important thing to add to our “to-do” list! Can you relate?
In this episode, Sara, Kelly and Lisa dive into the value and purpose of REST. When we physically allow our bodies to rest, to allow our body to heal and regenerate. Rest is important for our bodies, but it also plays a necessary role in our growth and evolution into our next best version of ourselves. Rest allows us the opportunity to reflect back on our goals, our accomplishments, and our failures. To pause to celebrate our wins and re-evaluate and refocus our goals and next steps. Rest allows our minds to quiet the constant chatter that is so prevalent in our days, to still our bodies, calm our breathing, slow our thinking, which puts us in a place of “receiving.” It is in those times of rest that we get our best inspired ideas, divine downloads, and “intuitive hits.”
Are you scheduling times of rest into your calendar? Let us encourage you to do just that. If you have benefited from this podcast, be sure to drop us a message, LIKE, SHARE, and leave us a review! Quote: “Act as if it were impossible to fail.” by Dorothea Brande
How do you view failure? Do you see it as a positive or a negative? Fear can be a real factor when we think about trying something new or stepping out of our comfort zone? But the truth is that we are responsible for our thoughts, and we get to DECIDE how we think about our life, our decisions, and how we think the situations we find ourselves in.
What if instead of thinking about all the reasons why we think something could fail, we chose to think about all the reasons why it would succeed? What if we chose to think that it was impossible to fail? What if we redefined the word “failure?” How would this shift in thinking change our results?
Listen in as Sara, Lisa, and Kelly share life experiences where they were challenged to think differently about the situations they found themselves in.

We have always loved this quote and it was so fun to unpack it. Here it is: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.” by Maya Angelou
Do you find yourself always thinking about the future and forgetting to live in the moments of the present. Sara shared that she gained a fresh perspective on time with her boys as we looked at this quote. Perhaps she wasn’t able to spend time with her boys on these last days before school starts because of work, BUT she was giving her boys the “gift” of creating moments with their grandparents. And also giving her mom and dad the chance to pour into her kids. These are the moments that matter. Lisa shared her gratitude for the moments she recently got to crate with her parents, camping and bike riding near Lake Michigan. People are the real gifts that we get to enjoy, and these are the moments that live on forever. Kelly chimed in about the big decision her family made one year ago, to move from CO to KY, and to move closer to family. This has allowed her so many more connections and strengthened those relationships.
Can you relate? Are you living in the moment of life, and pausing to reflect and well up with gratitude? Or is this a challenge for you? We hope this episode encourages you to slow down and be present in the “moments” of each day! We would love to hear your stories! Connect with us! Quote: “You cannot connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them by looking back, so you have to trust that the dots will somehow will connect in the future.”
What an amazing discussion we had today with Criss Madrigal, mother of 3, a coach, and has a huge heart for moms with what she calls “invisible disabilities.” Criss shared her favorite quote by Steve Jobs, “You cannot connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them by looking back, so you have to trust that the dots will somehow will connect in the future.” For her this quote helped to explain things that had happened in her life, and specifically in parenthood. Cris has twin daughters that have “22Q Deletion Syndrome” which is known as one of the most common syndromes that nobody has heard of, because it follows the characteristics of Down Syndrome, yet because it manifests itself in so many ways, it is very difficult to diagnose.
Criss and her husband have gone “all in” in providing various therapies for their daughter, and all the “dots” connected when they stepped out in faith, yet not knowing where the tens of thousands of dollars would come from to pay for these therapies. But, the money has alway come in, somehow! Because of the unique and “invisible disabilities of her daughters, she has always been an advocate in partnering with the girls’ teachers, and has created this Questionnaire template to help teachers know more about them, how they learn best, strengths, weaknesses, etc. and she wants to make this template available to YOU, our listeners!

Quote: “People don't decide their futures. People decide their habits and habits decide their future." F.M. Alexander
We started this episode with Sara sharing how important it is to be aware of our thoughts and feelings as it pertains to our habits. Our “old paradigm” or mental programming and the habits that follow can often make us feel hopeless and stuck but Kelly shared how our thoughts and feelings can deceive us. We may tend to think things like, “It is what it is” and then feel like we don’t have any control over a situation. But when we take an objective, compassionate look at our thoughts and feelings, we get to DECIDE if we are going to stay there or create new thoughts, feelings, and habits that will serve us better and give us the future we desire. Lisa shared how she uses visualization to increase the positive feelings around the goal, so that the new habits are rooted in the positive feeling of the goal achieved. Kelly encourages us start small with new habits and give yourself grace in the process. Just focus on one new habit, whether that be with time management, a relationship, or getting up 15 minutes early to give that gift of time to yourself. And know that we are here to cheer you on in your new habits!

Quote: True strength doesn't come from your character but from your willingness to go beyond it. ~Gary John Bishop
In this episode, we dive deep into this quote. Sara shared her difficult experience with the closing on her investment property, and how it tested her character yet she chose to go beyond it. We talked a lot about character, which is a great thing to have, but if we don’t push ourselves beyond our current character, then we don’t grow. We need to go beyond our feelings and really stay true to our mission and what it is that we want. In every challenging situation, we can either play the role of the victim or the victor. It all boils down to our willingness to go beyond our character. If we respond the same way we have always responded expecting different results, we will be frustrated and disappointed. That is just how it works. Our thoughts and character are our choice.
Lisa mentioned the book The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. In it, Micheal encourages us to let go of the thoughts and feelings that are not serving us. This helps us to go beyond our own current character and into a place of growth. Being willing to step beyond our present character is the first necessary step in this journey.

Quote: When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
Are you in the right environment to bloom? Sometimes we just feel like we have no choice but to just stay in the environment, but we don’t have to! We have so many influences that affect us every day: our friend, our family, spouse, social media, the news, and I think the big questions we want to encourage our listeners to ask themselves is, “Am I surrounding myself with people that are helping me grow to become a better person, to think bigger” OR “Am I the smartest person in the room?” If it is the latter, you may need to find a new environment! Sara shares from a parenting perspective, how as a parent can help their kids by changing up their environment so they can stay stimulated and out of trouble!! Changing your environment is not always easy because the “comfort zone” has a strong pull on us. But when we take that brave step and choose a different environment, your “flower” will begin to open up and bloom!

Quote: “How are you, really?” ~Jenna Kutcher
We get asked “how are you?” all the time, but when Kelly saw the book How are You, Really? her interest peaked, because of the last word, “really.” The extra step in asking the second version is not something we tend to ask or be asked, but why? We have been conditioned to live our lives in a fast paced society where our attention span is about 30 seconds, and we don’t give ourselves permission to get in touch with our feelings. When we realize that if we just vocalize our true feelings, even when they are scary or unsettling, we stop the “spin” in our heads and the thoughts actually lose some power.
This practice of asking “How are you, really?” can be very helpful when we ask it to ourselves, but it can also deepen our relationships when we ask this question.
So, during this episode, we want to challenge our listeners to ask this question, “How are you, really?” And allow yourself the time and space to explore the answer as you reflect and look inward. The will be liberating for you and also have a big impact on your key relationships as well.
If you are interested in going deeper on this topic, we encourage you to get Jenna Kutcher’s book How are You, Really? Today you are in for a treat, because we got to “hang out” with Suze Solari, a successful personal stylist with 25 years of design experience, helping professional women and entrepreneurs to find the clothes and accessories so they feel confident and in alignment with their brand. She is also an author and a twin mom, and you will love her energy.
So many times, we just don’t have the time to really find and purchase the clothes we need to show up as our “next level self,” and Suze has a proven set-by-step process she takes her clients through to help them identify what looks the best, but will also stand the test of time regarding style and quality. She gave us some great advice on how to take the items in our closet that we like and “re-create” them by adding a scarf or pairing them with a different colored pair of pants! For busy corporate professionals, working with Suze can take a lot of the stress and time factor out of the equation.

Quote: "Next time you feel like an imposter, remember that some of the most successful and impactful people in history were the most UNQUALIFIED to start. ~Cassie Schmidt
Imposter Syndrome is a real thing. It is when you have a dream or a vision of what you want to do with your life, and your mind comes up with all of the reasons why it is not possible. It tells you are not qualified, that you are a “fake” and that no one is really going to believe you. This inner talk keeps us thinking small, living in our comfort zone, and not stepping in our greatness. Lisa shares how she has been battling her “noisy roommate” when it comes to social media and her business. Some of the tips she has found beneficial are journaling and getting all the false beliefs out on paper, and taking an objective look at them. And the other big tip for defeating that “imposter syndrome” is taking action in the direction of your dreams, stepping out and doing “the scary” knowing in your heart of hearts that these actions are required for you to grow yourself and achieve your goals and dreams. It is stepping out in faith, and imagining all the good that will come from these actions. It is creating thoughts, feelings, and then actions that are in alignment with where you are going, and choosing to not stay stuck listening to the voices of “can’t.” And we need to understand that we are on a journey, and showing yourself compassion is key in this process of growth.

“Manage your mind in the moments of each day.” ~Julie Ciardi
Parenting and raising kids is not easy and it can be a lot of work. In today’s episode, we get an up close and personal look into Sara’s life as she shares about a challenging parenting “scene” she had with one of her 6 year old twin boys. Our quote is “ Manage your mind in the moments of each day,” by Julie Ciardi, and you will be encouraged to know that we are not perfect at this, and we too are in process, but learning to manage our minds in the moment continues to be a huge benefit in our relationships, especially with our kids.
As moms, we want our kids to behave and grow up to be respectful, responsible adults, but the journey of growth is often messy. Sara shares this fact: The only person we can really control or manage is ourselves. Learning to respond and not react is something we can practice and get better at, but Lisa encourages us to realize we are not going to be perfect at this and to give yourself compassion in the journey. Kelly shares the importance of having a follow up conversation with our kids, when emotions have dissipated, so our kids can process and learn through these life experiences.
Remember, journaling can be a powerful way for you as a mom to process your feelings, but can also serve as a reminder of your progress in managing your mind in the moments! Be encouraged! Quote: “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Pablo Picasso
Today’s episode will truly inspire you to not only discover your divine gifts, but make it your life’s mission to then give them away. Marie Garcia, a successful wife, mom and Master Coach with Julie Ciardi’s IGNITE Her Society and IGNITE Coach School is with us today, and she began her journey to discover her gifts as a young girl when she heard this quote and then asked her parents and friends what they thought her divine gifts were! How amazing, and at such a young age! As happens with so many of us, Marie lost sight of that when she fell into the path that society deems as the path to success: college, a corporate job, get married, start a family, and just stay in that pattern until retirement. Marie spent 13 years in “Corporate America” and was very successful and making a good income, but deep down she knew she was made for more. She knew that in that role she was not able to fully “give her gifts away.” And this awakened the reminder of this quote and her pursuit to live out this purpose!
As you listen in to Marie’s story, you will be inspired to pause and really allow yourself your gifts to surface, asking yourself the question, “What are my divine gifts? And how can I give them away?” Marie’s example will awaken you to pursue a life with intention, purpose and one of great joy!

Quote: “Celebrate the small wins, because small wins build momentum.”
Today we are celebrating Episode 20!!!! Thank you so much for listening in and subscribing to our podcast! We are SO grateful for YOU! To celebrate, we want to share our insights and encouragement around this quote, “Celebrate the small wins, because small wins build momentum.”
During this episode, we want to encourage you to take the time to celebrate your small wins, and “enjoy the journey.” We as women are quick to celebrate others, but why is it hard for us to celebrate our wins, our small steps towards our goals? Sara shared how she is planning on creating a “Jar of WINS” and adding a personal win each day! And Lisa also reminded us that what we focus on in our thoughts expands, so we want to be sure to focus on our small wins and not the lack, the failures, the disappointments, etc.
Be sure to listen in and let us encourage you to become aware of the progress you ARE making towards your goals and dreams.

Quote: “Action and overthinking can not exist together. You are either busy taking action or you are busy overthinking.” by Sharat Sharma
This quote is a challenge for most people. We tend to overthink our decisions and stay in the thinking and planning mode, and that keeps us from moving towards our dreams. Sara and Kelly, as Enneagram 9’s shared how having a heightened awareness around this topic has been very helpful. Taking action can be scary, but looking back we usually realize that what we were afraid of was nothing terrible, yet we spend so much time overthinking, worrying, and staying stuck in fear. For Lisa, as an Enneagram 2, the overthinking looks a little differently. It can show up as worrying about what people think of us. Kelly shared another quote that has helped her, “What people think of you is none of your business.” Overthinking inhibits us from taking action. But there is HOPE! Awareness of our “default settings” and our current thinking, and choosing to TAKE ACTION anyway will put you on the “road” to your dreams and your growth.
We love you, our listeners, and want to encourage you to TAKE ACTION. Don’t overthink it! Just GO FOR IT! Start creating the life you truly desire, one action step at a time!

Quote: “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” ~Winston Churchill
During this episode, Kelly, Sara and Lisa dive into a challenging quote by Winston Churchill, “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” We as humans tend to see failure in a negative light, but as you will learn, this doesn’t not have to be your mindset! Sara shares how redefining success is the first mindset shift. She quotes Earl Nightengale, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal (or goal).” So releasing the timeline often helps shift that view of failure, but also understanding that failure is mandatory in your journey to success.
Kelly shares that failure is only true when we choose to quit; failure is really growing and learning. Lisa shares how having a clear vision of our BIG goal can help her keep our enthusiasm even in the midst of a perceived failure in her direct sales journey. We hope that you are inspired and encouraged to step out, try new things, see failure as a necessary step towards reaching the goals and dreams that are important to you, and keep going!

Quote: “You can’t just give up on someone because the situation is not ideal. Great relationships are not great because they have no problems. They are great because both people care enough about the other person to find a way to make it work.”
If you have ever struggled with a relationship or felt stuck in a host of thoughts that were not getting you the results you wanted in your relationship, this episode is for YOU! Today, we chatted with Geovanna and Yvette of YGC Relationship Coaching and boy oh boy did we learn some great things! We explored how what they do in coaching their clients differs from traditional counseling or therapy. Our lively discussion included how much of what we think in our minds (or should we say assume) is not accurate, yet this “noisy roommate” keeps telling us the same lies so often that these thoughts seem true and real. Their coaching is unique because the focus is in guiding their clients to work on themselves; their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes. Their goal is to help their clients become and evolve into the best version of themselves, for themselves; to deepen their understanding of their worthiness, to uncover their desires and what is most important to them. And all of this self awareness has a dramatic, positive affect on the health of their relationships. We hope you love this episode, and feel free to share it with anyone you know that may be struggling in their relationships.

Quote:“To attain true inner freedom, you must be able to objectively watch your problems instead of being lost in them.” ~Michael Singer
In this episode, Sara, Kelly and Lisa dive deep into a quote that reveals some profound truths. This quote is from a book that Sara is currently reading called the Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. What does it mean to “objectively watch your problems?” And what role does your “inner roommate” play in keeping you lost in your problems. The inner thoughts and “voices” of our self talk can lie to us and hold us back from our true potential. Listen in as Kelly, Lisa, and Sara share real life situations where their “inner roommate” has clouded their objectivity and some of the tools and resources they have utilized and benefited from in their journey to “true inner freedom.”
The book The Untethered Soul, by Michael Singer is available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Untethered-Soul-Journey-Beyond-Yourself/dp/1572245379/ref=sr_1_2?crid=SS238V6PCI3D&keywords=the+untethered+soul&qid=1652413923&sprefix=The+u%2Caps%2C226&sr=8-2

Quote: “I wonder how much of what weighs me down is not mine to carry” ~Unknown
Listen into this episode as Sara, Lisa, and Kelly unpack this powerful quote, “I wonder how much of what weighs me down is not mine to carry.” Lisa shares how her cancer diagnosis from 9 years ago was a real “wake up call” for her to have a new heightened awareness to how much of the stress she was having in the years prior may have been because she was unknowingly carrying the responsibility and concern for people and things that were not hers to carry. Sara shares how she has felt weighed down when she has offered advice to a friend and then felt frustration when they haven’t acted on her advice. Kelly shares how carrying the weight of her struggle with secondary infertility actually hindered her for some of the joys of being a mom to their son. As the ladies discussed the “weights” we as women often choose to carry, they concluded by shedding some new light on a popular verse, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” It is very easy to focus only on the first part of this verse, but listen in as they share insights on the last two words of this verse. Honoring yourself is necessary before we can truly love others.
Lisa sums up their conversation with this reminder of what to say to ourselves when interacting with others: “I did what I could. I am releasing the results. That is not mine to carry.”

Whether it is in your life or business, if you find yourself holding back and not taking action, Lisa encourages you to remember that it only takes 30 seconds of courage, so just do it! And you will find the rewards of the personal growth you will experience will far surpass the need to get it perfect! Fail forward towards your big dreams! You are worth it, and taking imperfect action is the fastest to push past perfectionism, so just DO IT!

Quote: "You are not stuck where you are unless you decide to be" Wayne Dyer
Have you ever had thoughts like, “I won’t ever be able to lose that weight. We will never be able to afford that. I wish I could change jobs but that is not possible?” Well, listen in as Sara, Lisa, and Kelly unpack this powerful quote by Wayne Dyer.
A lot of times we are not even aware of the defeating and discouraging thoughts we are thinking and allowing to take root as beliefs inside our soul. Kelly shares how she has wanted to get back to exercising and getting in shape but felt stuck, until she made the decision to take action and go to the gym. Those first steps all start with making a decision. But the desire has to be big enough. Lisa shares how freeing it has been to shift her thoughts from “I should…” to “I get to…” and then creating that mental picture of the desired results! Reading a book or talking with a mentor can also be a great way to “wake up” to the sheer fact that NO ONE is ever stuck. Sara shares when she is feeling stuck, she picks up the book Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill and how that helps to step out and make decisions that move her from feeling stuck, and towards the goals that are in alignment with her deeper desires and purpose.
You can find the book Think and Grow Rich on Amazon at:

“It is not a mid-life crisis, it is my mid-life awakening!” Sara Carlisi
Mid-life crisis can have a negative connotation, but does that have to be the case? Today’s podcast Sara, Lisa, and Kelly redefine it as a mid-life awakening! We are goal seeking beings, and in our early years, we have natural goals set for us: graduate highschool, then college, land a good job, get married, start a family, etc, but what about when you are a SAHM and send your child off to kindergarten and you have the whole day to yourself? What about when your kids move out and you are an empty nester? Do you set goals for yourself outside of your role as mom, wife, and employee? Listen in as they each share how at different times in their life, they have experienced a “mid-life awakening” and some suggestions on how to create “quiet time” to listen to your heart and discover your inner purpose, passions, and desires. This awakening can be energizing and fulfilling, and motivates us to not settle for just existing, but fully pursue all that life has waiting for us to discover! You will be inspired to redefine your mid-life and “wake up” to what your next big goal or dream!

Brianna’s quote: “What is necessary to change a person is to change {her} awareness of {herself.}” ~Abraham Maslow
Have you ever wondered why you habitually do and think a certain way? Gaining awareness of these paradigms can help you break free from patterns that may be holding you back! Briana uses a tool called the Enneagram when mentoring her clients. By identifying their Enneagram number, she helps women understand why they may be getting stuck. With this awareness, they can then take control of their results! Knowing your enneagram and working with Briana can help you identify your superpowers to design a life you love!
Tune in to hear how the enneagram has helped Lisa, Sara and Kelly and how working with Briana impacted them personally AND in life’s most important relationships!

Fear and Faith are really two sides of the same coin. Both require you to believe in something you cannot see. ~Unknown
I think we can all relate to fear that creeps up in certain situations but faith and fear both require you to believe in something you cannot see. The choice is yours.
In this week’s episode, Lisa shares her story with her cancer diagnosis and all the fear that crept up during the process. Fear consumed her mind initially but when she decided to replace fear with faith, peace flooded her soul. This pivotal experience paved the way for other situations that have followed - she let’s her faith run the show!
And one of the best things - was the hope she shared with her children throughout her journey. Complete with a bald head cake during her chemo party. The strength and faith required to pass this key lesson onto her young children is something that will stay with you long after the conclusion of this episode.
We are honored for you to tune in and get a small glimpse into Lisa’s story. We encourage those needing support to reach out to Lisa and, for those struggling with a challenging diagnosis, we hope you choose to have faith in your journey as well.
