Hey Clemson Family, Garrett Riley is reportedly about to take over the Clemson offensive coordinator job previously held by former Tigers QB and assistant Brandon Streeter, who was fired Thursday after one year as Clemson’s offensive coordinator. In Episode 55 of the Reign Supreme Alway Podcast we take a quick look at how Riley could fit in at Clemson, whether or not more change is in store and what Streeter accomplished in 2022. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS in the comments today! Streeter led the Tigers to rank 48th in total offense and 30th in scoring offense – not the kind of numbers the team is used to putting up. He certainly improved DJ Uiagalelei’s performance in the first half of the season as quarterbacks coach but his play regressed, and Cade Klubnik brought mixed results to close the season out. Dabo Swinneya ‘s statement Thursday evening included this quote: “Though we took a step forward offensively in 2022, after evaluating our offense in-depth, I felt it was in the best interest of our program to seek new leadership at that position. These decisions are never easy, but it is my job to evaluate and assess every part of our program every year, and this was just the right time to make a change. I look forward to bringing in a dynamic, proven leader at offensive coordinator with the specific purpose of meeting — and raising — the standard of excellence that has been established at Clemson.” Subscribe, like and comment — and we’ll keep you posted as the next steps take place in the Clemson football program. Hey Clemson Family, it’s time to see if the Tigers can again pick themselves up off the mat and avoid back-to-back losses as they prepare to travel to Charlotte to face the North Carolina Tar Heels in the 2022 ACC Championship Game. Find out which angles fans will want to watch for. What’s going to give way: Can UNC’s offense led by stellar QB Drake Maye break its trend of struggling (well, relative to their top form this year) against a talented defensive opponent? Or will the Clemson defense led by Tyler Davis, Barrett Carter and Jeremiah Trotter Jr.  break, not bend, for the second straight week? And when Clemson has the ball, can the Tigers avoid the mistakes that have plagued them in the second half of the season, including turnovers by DJ Uiagalelei, Will Shipley and Antonio Williams? Or will it be the Tar Heels defensive players who settle in and improve their results? Coach Dabo Swinney and his coordinators, Brandon Streeter and Wes Goodwin, need to find some answers. Longtime sports media members Daniel Shirley and Bill Zimmerman look at the major factors to expect in this game and the players likely to be in the spotlight. Hey, Clemson Family -- Yes, two big winning streaks for the Tigers came to a stunning halt Saturday in Death Valley, we'll go over why South Carolina beat Clemson in 2022 and what problems need to get worked out for the TIgers short-term and long-term. One solution moving forward could be wide receiver recruit Tyler Brown of Greenville, who committed to Clemson on Thanksgiving, we'll talk about him and another future addition in 2024 kicker Mason Hauser who's a Clemson University legacy athlete to look forward to. Hey, Clemson Family -- another Hurricane comes and goes through Death Valley as the Tigers win again. Barrett Carter, Trenton Simpson and the Clemson defense flooded Miami with pressure behind the line of scrimmage to hold the Canes to just 98 yards of total offense for the game in a convincing 40-10 win. DJ Uiagalelei and the tight ends barged their way down the field, with only a few undertow moments, to hold up their end of the bargain. The football program's momentum carried into Sunday with a commitment from 2024 defensive back Tavoy Feagin and into Monday with a commitment from 2023 defensive end Tomarrion Parker. Can the surge run all the way through Saturday's game with South Carolina? Not to mention the following week's ACC Championship Game against North Carolina and then a playoff berth? Longtime sports journalists Daniel Shirley and Bill Zimmerman break it all down and provide the analysis needed to keep it all in perspective. We're glad you found us! Hey Clemson Family, it’s time for the Tigers to hang onto their hats and the football against the Miami Hurricanes as Clemson tries to extend its home winning streak – now the longest in the ACC – against the team that has the longest such streak in NCAA history. Running backs Will Shipley and Phil Mafah figure prominently in whether or not the Tigers will prevail. Head coach Dabo Swinney might be pulling a motivational lever in mentioning playoff possibilities still on the edge of the picture for Clemson, as otherwise the game doesn’t factor into the standings in the ACC with a title-game matchup against Coastal Division champion North Carolina already scheduled. Familiar faces will be visiting Death Valley in former Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and wide receiver Frank Ladson, as well. But Miami’s season has been a disappointment, unable to channel its talent just yet into a possible trophy winner under first-year head coach Mario Cristobal. Could the Canes keep up the momentum of a big blowout win over Georgia Tech last week? Their defense is known for forcing turnovers and raked in four interceptions against the Jackets, so Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei must take care of the ball. Get all the details in the latest episode of the Reign Supreme Alway podcast and Go Tigers!

Hey Clemson Family, the Tigers had a successful effort to control the game and defeat Louisville on Saturday, 31-16, check out the reasons Clemson improved its showings on offense and on defense despite some key talents missing the game because of injury. On defense, linebacker Barrett Carter was among the players who stepped up even as he moved to a new position; Carter had a pretty play hurdling a would-be blocker on his way to 8.5 tackles, 3.5 for loss, and a prominent interception. Wade Woodaz and nickel defensive backs including Andrew Mukuba filled the resulting gap ably as well. On offense, Will Shipley and Antonio Williams continue to power the attack while Phil Mafah emerged with perhaps his most complete form yet to lead the team in rushing. Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei capably handled Louisville’s pressure. Find out how it all fit together and more with longtime sports journalists Daniel Shirley and Bill Zimmerman, both Clemson graduates, revisiting and analyzing the game. Plus: Clemson men’s soccer played well enough in the ACC tournament to earn a first-round bye in the NCAA tourney, hear what’s been going well for them and who they might face. Hey Clemson Family, it’s time for the football team to show resilience and find a way to defeat Louisville during the stretch run of three games to close out the regular season before heading to Charlotte for the conference championship. How will the defense respond to having been road-graded by the Notre Dame offensive line? And how will the Tigers’ offense find a way to get the ball downfield once again after two rough games littered with turnovers and a lack of vertical passing game success? Offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter needs to find his inner quarterback whisperer to get DJ Uiagalelei back on track like he was for most of the season so far. Coach Dabo Swinney, meanwhile, needs to address the mind set of the locker room, players and coaches alike. Hey, Clemson Family -- Maybe the issue isn't whether the Tigers are DJ Uiagalelei's team or Cade Klubnik's team, because it could simply be Will Shipley's team. Clemson beat Syracuse 27-21 by making use of both quarterbacks but the starting running back in Shipley carried the load figuratively and literally for the Tigers offense even as the vaunted Clemson defense once again took quite some time to round itself into the kind of form that's been expected for it. Longtime sports journalists Daniel Shirley and Bill Zimmerman discuss what unfolded in Death Valley on Saturday, October 22, 2022, as Clemson moved to 8-0 heading into its bye week with four more games on the horizon for the regular season with a possible College Football Playoff berth within sight. Hey Clemson Family, here comes the Tigers’ fourth straight ACC Atlantic Division challenge with Syracuse coming to town and outwardly confident even before the team arrives. Will this be a close contest such as the two games in the last four years decided by 4 points or less? Or will Clemson find a way to decidedly defeat Syracuse as it did the other two games in the last four years? Syracuse players including quarterback Garrett Shrader are publicly confident about coming into Death Valley and getting a win, looking to be the team that emerges still undefeated and in control of their path to the conference championship game in Charlotte later this year. We look at the matchups that matter, in particular when Syracuse has the ball – and explain why that seems to be more important heading into this game. Hey, Clemson Family -- it's Clemson vs. Florida State week once again and there's college football recruiting news in the Tigers' program that makes it an even newsier week. Offensive lineman Zechariah Owens has decommitted from Clemson and the rumor mill is churning with the possibility that FSU has serious interest. Owens says money is a significant factor so NIL appears to be in play. Of more immediate note, Clemson and Florida St. are preparing to go toe-to-toe Saturday night in prime time as a close battle is expected to return to the ACC Atlantic rivalry with the division crown certainly in play (as well as the Tigers' playoff hopes). How will the Tigers contain Seminoles stars Jordan Travis, Johnny Wilson and others? The return of injured players Bryan Bresee, Sheridan Owens, Malcolm Greene and others could make a big difference. Join guest Roy Philpott along with co-hosts Daniel Shirley and Bill Zimmerman as they discuss the expectations for Clemson vs. Florida State in 2022 on the Reign Supreme Alway podcast! Hey Clemson Family, Dabo Swinney and the Tigers easily cast N.C. State aside Saturday night by a 30-20 score that didn’t really reflect the magnitude of the win. It happened thanks to some quote Juice from coach Dabo Swinney and shows the in-season growth that’s been typical of the Tigers in the playoff era. And maybe the Tigers got a sugar boost from those Krispy Kremes last week because both sides of the ball played their most thoroughly effective football of the year and perhaps the best performance we’ve seen against quality competition since the 2020 ACC Championship Game win over Notre Dame. DJ Uiagalelei continued to shine and to show why we pegged him during the offseason as the clear starter over heralded incoming freshman Cade Klubnik. He did so again without huge numbers from Will Shipley, whose talent certainly drew respect from the opposing defense and helped open things up for the passing game. Tyler Davis, KJ Henry, Barrett Carter and Trenton Simpson kept the Wolfpack offense largely in check as Myles Murphy and even Keith Maguire also made key contributions. Clemson is clearly the class of the ACC’s Atlantic Division but will need to keep improving if they are to stay there, with three straight divisional opponents coming up on the schedule. Hey, Clemson Family -- D.J. Uiagalelei and the Tigers offense, unlikely as it might have once seemed, had to carry a hurting defense to victory over Wake Forest on Saturday in a 51-45 double-overtime thriller. After Clemson jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead, why did it end up being so close, though? Daniel Shirley and Bill Zimmerman analyze what went wrong for the Tigers defense and why the offense was able to, as head coach Dabo Swinney put it, shoulder the load and ensure Clemson could remain undefeated four games into the 2022 season. Surely things must improve before playing N.C. State at home in primetime next weekend in front of a raucous Death Valley crowd that also will see College Gameday on campus in the morning. Tyler Davis returned from injury showed what he's capable of on defense against Wake Forest, but numerous others need to step up their game and perhaps as Swinney put it rediscover their "edge." Hey Clemson Family, now that Tigers football is about to hit the tough part of its 2022 schedule, it’s time to recap not just Clemson’s 48-20 win over Louisiana Tech but the first three games as a whole – starting with the surprising issues that the Tiger D is seeing so far. Did they address one problem but simply open up another? College offenses are designed to force an opening somewhere. With two well-coached and talented teams ahead in Wake Forest and N.C. State, let's take stock of how Clemson's hyped defense stands to improve as a tough stretch of games stares them in the face -- and where optimism can be found. On offense, D.J. Uiagalelei and Will Shipley have been finding their strengths under new offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter, and we might have seen during Saturday night's win how things might start evolving for the Clemson attack as it tries to resurrect the form it had in winning two national championships. Hey Clemson Family, the second week of the Tigers football season showed some new successes on offense, but some surprisingly persistent troubles also were visible for the vaunted Clemson defense this year – and it remains to be seen whether those issues will be a trend or an early glitch. The Tigers have maintained a bend-but-don’t-break mentality on D and kept opponents at an average of 11 points per game in the first two weeks of the 2022 season, but one major problem has been obvious against ACC opponent Georgia Tech and FCS opponent Furman – and Daniel Shirley points out it must get resolved before the schedule gets tougher with a road game against defending ACC Atlantic Division champion Wake Forest coming up in Week 4 and N.C. State coming to Death Valley in Week 5 looking for its second straight win in the Textile Bowl rivalry. Reasons for optimism shone through, however, in the offense’s performance as quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei put up strong statistics in the first half this week and generally had the offense moving in much more effective fashion (as it should have, admittedly, against a lower-tier opponent). Hey, Clemson Family, it's time to take a look at D.J. Uiagalelei, Cade Klubnik and the rest of the Tigers' performance in their convincing 41-10 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets -- and in particular how the quarterbacks are bringing thoughts of some fairly recent Clemson football history, although probably NOT what you're thinking of when that phrase comes to mind. Head coach Dabo Swinney mentioned some communication issues with the offense, we'll take a look at that. The defense did a lot of things worthy of praise, while also showing some weak spots in a Week 1 performance that carried the day while the offense took some time to get its sea legs under it. Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee looked ready for prime time in the Monday night game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, which counted as a home game for Tech even though it was off campus, and behind him linebackers Barrett Carter and Trenton Simpson had huge games -- but defensive end K.J. Henry commanded the spotlight with a monster effort that led a strong performance showing why expectations have been high for Wes Goodwin's defense this season. And we'll have a surprise guest at the end who will keep our opinions in check in a few areas, another longtime sports journalist who keeps tabs on the Tigers as well. Hey, Clemson Family - with ACC media days behind us, it's time to float some predictions for the final year of the Atlantic and Coastal divisions, and it should not be shocking that Clemson is once again among the favorites to win the conference (but how high can the Tigers go after a down season saw them miss the ACC title game in 2021?) with some solid challengers on the schedule. Bill Zimmerman and Daniel Shirley will also go over what to expect along the Tigers' offensive line, which needs to play better if Clemson is going to advance during the postseason. We've also got a preview of this year's Clemson at Florida State game, with the Seminoles also looking to improve and restore some drama to the rivalry.
