Fun Facts About Chocolates
It takes 400 cocoa beans to make one pound of chocolate. Each cacao tree produces approximately 2,500 beans. Research to date supports that chocolate can be enjoyed as part of a balanced, heart-healthy diet and lifestyle. The average serving of milk chocolate has about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of decaf coffee. Because cacao trees are so delicate, farmers lose, on average, 30 percent of their crop each year. Studies have demonstrated that one of the major saturated fats in chocolate does not raise cholesterol like other hard fats–meaning chocolate can be enjoyed in moderation. Chocolate comes from a fruit tree; it’s made from a seed.

While both similes and metaphors are used to make comparisons, the difference between similes and metaphors comes down to a word. Similes use the words like or as to compare things—“Life is like a box of chocolates.” In contrast, metaphors directly state a comparison—“Love is a battlefield.”
Here are some examples of similes and metaphors:
Life is like a box of chocolates. (Simile)
My life is an open book. (Metaphor)
That baby is as cute as a button!(Simile)
Baby, you’re a firework.(Metaphor)

“Empathy is at the heart of great classroom culture.”
Strengthens the community outside the school
Empathy is the ability that helps children understand the feelings of others. When children learn to empathize with others, it deepens their relationships — not just in the classroom but outside school. Children develop stronger relationships with all those they interact with — elders, parents, relatives, family friends, neighbors and with other children.
Prepares Learners to emerge as Future Leaders
Empathy defines real leaders and differentiates true leaders from merely popular ones. To emerge as true and trusted leader, one must be able to understand and relate with others based on trust and respect. Empathy strengthens trust and deepens respect.
Irrespective of the professions our children will select in the future, to be effective leaders, they must be able to build and preserve relationships of trust with all those in their sphere of influence. Empathy is a key ingredient towards building relationships based on respect. It is the single most important factor while selection of senior leadership in some of the most respected organizations around the world.

We are advised to behave in a rational manner. Apply logic and science, say experts, so you do not fall into the pit of probabilities and irrational decision-making. That's because irrational thoughts enter our brains and affect our actions more often than we'd admit, say experts who point out that irrationality seems to carry plenty of drawbacks. But this gives overworked brains some rest.
Human beings are wired to prioritise safety and security. But the world has changed rapidly over millennia, while we haven't been paying attention to upgrading the brain's capacity to deal with new situations and challenges. Says Rankin, a clinical psychologist, 'We are basically still Neanderthal, focused on survival and safety and living in the present. Our brains haven't adapted to a much more complex world.' Moreover, the human brain takes up more than 20% of our energy, and Rankin says because critical thinking can be exhausting, we rely on simplistic shortcuts.

WE CAN SOLVE OUR ECOLOGICAL CRISIS AND REVERSE CLIMATE CHANGE BY REWILDING OUR FORESTS AND RECONNECTING PEOPLE TO NATURE
PASSING OF A LEGEND
The recently deceased Sunderlal Bahuguna was a beacon of the Indian environmental movement . A home-grown environmentalist who steered a spontaneous ‘Chipko Movement’ of the 1970s into a strong people’s movement and saved the forests of the great Himalayas and the forest-based livelihoods of its indigenous communities was a living image of unfettered dedication.
Best finding ever: Coffee waste is great for growing forests
In March, the ‘British Ecological Society’ reported an unexpected finding of a study: Spreading coffee pulp, a waste product from coffee production, over degraded lands helps them recover quickly. According to the report, the study’s researchers (from ETHZurich and the University of Hawaii) spread 30 truck loads of coffee pulp on a 35X40m area of degraded land in Costa Rica. In only two years, the area treated with coffee pulp had not only turned into a small forest, but it was rich in nutrients including carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus. This has turned out to be great news for degraded agricultural lands that have poor soil quality!

Leadership competencies are skills and attributes that you can possess which make you a good leader. Your competency in — or ability to show — these skills will increase the trust and commitment that your team has in you. Effective leaders inspire, encourage and facilitate in order to improve the productivity of their team.
Here are areas to focus on if you want to become a more competent leader:
INTEGRITY
Leaders are often judged by their character. Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. Leaders with integrity prioritize the consistency of their character in both their personal and professional relationships. They show integrity, they are honest, humble and reliable.
SELF-DISCIPLINE
Many of these competencies require leaders to have the fundamental quality of self-discipline. Leaders act not out of their own interest but out of a concern for others. They carefully consider the possible consequences of their actions instead of making rash decisions. Self-discipline involves controlling any natural tendencies to act out of anger, greed or selfishness.
COMMUNICATION
Interpersonal skills are a must for effective leaders. Leaders are often evaluated by the effect they have on their team’s productivity. The key to improving productivity is often clear and open channels of communication.

Birbal (born Mahesh Das; 1528 – 16 February 1586), or Raja Birbal, was a Hindu advisor in the court of the Mughal emperor, Akbar. Birbal was appointed by Akbar as a poet and singer in around 1560. He was one of the navaratnas (nine jewels of Akbar).
He is mostly known in the Indian subcontinent for the folk tales which focus on his wit. In the local folk tales he is presented as a very clever person. These tales are popular in India. These tales involve him being smarter then or making fool of other courtiers and sometimes even Akbar, using only his intelligence and cunning. From the twentieth century onwards, plays, movies and books based on these folk tales were made. Some of these folk tales are in children's comics and school books.

"Making a mistake" is not the same thing as "failing." A failure is the result of a wrong action, whereas a mistake usually is the wrong action. So, when you make a mistake, you can learn from it and fix it, whereas you can only learn from a failure.
A learning opportunity is not the same as an excuse for careless behavior!
Rather, admitting to your mistakes and showing that you have learned from them can help others to understand that making mistakes is OK. That is, as long as you act intelligently, in good faith, and keep your risk-taking within agreed boundaries.
Model this approach to encourage your people to take responsible risks, and to be more creative. Don't be afraid to ask colleagues or your manager for help if you're unsure which tactic or tool will be the most effective in preventing further mistakes.
Involving other people is a great way to make them feel invested – and it can be particularly important when mistakes are made at a team or organizational level. So, foster an environment where people feel comfortable about expressing their ideas.
