Async English: Recent Episodes

Ricardo Montania Prado de Campos

This podcast is a personal place to talk about my English learning path as a Brazilian and Software Engineer. My name is Ricardo Campos. Welcome. The name Async English comes from a known terminology in the programming world about requests, which is "asynchronous". In a nutshell, is a situation when you ask for something and must wait for that in a different layer than the current flow. Pretty much like a conversation you start and don't know when it'll be finished.

In this show, I suppose to talk about programming in general, difficulties for Brazilians learning English, and more.

Hello everyone! In this episode, I talk about connections, and the real focus when learning English.

Here is the list of mistakes and the corrections:

  • Where I did [came] from. When using did, the verb should be in the present tense. Besides, I could only have said [Where I came from].
  • [Talk about myself], and not [talk about me]. Also [a little bit about me]. Should be [about msyelf]
  • I started coding [in the university] and not [at university]
  • [until the university, I didn’t know anything about programming]. I said, [I don’t know], but I was talking in the past tense, so I should have used the past form of the verb
  • When talking about the Sound School course, which made me much more motivated, I said Then after this course, [I've get] but I should have said [I've got].
  • Someone of you is wrong. I should have said [Some of you] instead.

Hello friends! In this episode, I talk about myself as a developer, a little about my journey and also about my English learning path, and how, and when I started for real.

I also mentioned the Inglês Nu e Cru guys, Alexia and Foster. Because I was too much anxious I barely could talk about them, and how their courses and podcast have helped me. I should dedicate one entire episode to them.
