The carnivore diet is one of the most talked-about (and often misunderstood!) approaches to nutrition today. While many people associate it with weight loss or social media trends, there's much more to the conversation than that.
In this episode, I'm joined by Casey Ruff, host of Boundless Body Radio, for what became one of the most in-depth discussions I've had on the podcast surrounding carnivore nutrition, ketogenic diets, and metabolic health.
Together, we explore the science behind these approaches, why some individuals choose them for reasons far beyond weight loss, and the importance of recognizing that nutrition is rarely one-size-fits-all. We also discuss protein, metabolic flexibility, differences between men and women, GLP-1 medications, what Casey actually eats in a day, and why asking better questions about our health may be more valuable than searching for one perfect diet.
Whether you're simply curious about carnivore or you've been hearing more about it lately, I hope this conversation helps you better understand the thinking behind this approach.

Most of us don't think much about our eye health until something changes.
Earlier this year, I experienced an unexpected change in my own vision that led me down a path of learning more about eye health, and it quickly became clear just how many people are navigating dry eye, screen fatigue, floaters, and other vision concerns without fully understanding what's happening.
In this episode, I'm joined by optometrist and dry eye specialist Dr. Pam Theriot for a practical conversation about protecting your vision in today's digital world. We discuss why dry eye is becoming increasingly common, how screen use impacts the eyes, changes that can occur with age, and simple habits that can support long-term eye health.
Whether you're experiencing symptoms or simply want to be more proactive, this episode is filled with practical, evidence-informed advice you can begin applying today.
In This Episode:
About Dr. Pam Theriot:
Dr. Pam Theriot serves as the Clinical Director of the Dry Eye Center at Lusk Eye Specialists in Shreveport, Louisiana. She earned her undergraduate degree from Rice University before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She completed a residency at the State University of New York College of Optometry and a fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry.
Passionate about patient education, Dr. Theriot launched her educational blog and published Alleviate Dry Eye to help individuals better understand and manage dry eye disease. She serves on the Public Awareness Committee of the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS), is the Dry Eye Disease columnist for Optometric Management, and lectures internationally on ocular surface disease, aesthetics, presbyopia, and dry eye. In 2025, her TEDx talk on the importance of eye health in the digital age received an Editor's Pick Award.

Every summer, I like to revisit one or two conversations that have continued to stay with me long after the microphone was turned off. As part of this Conversations Worth Revisiting series, I'm bringing back one of the most powerful and hope-filled episodes in the history of Intentionally Well.
In this conversation, I'm joined by Dr. Pete Sulack—a husband, father, practitioner, and passionate follower of Christ—who shares the extraordinary story of walking through a diagnosis of Grade 4 diffuse astrocytoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Rather than allowing fear to define his path, Dr. Pete shares how his faith, intentional lifestyle changes, and commitment to supporting his body's terrain became central to his healing journey. Here we explore the intersection of faith, functional health, resilience, and what it means to pursue hope in the face of an impossible diagnosis.
Whether this is your first time hearing this conversation or you're revisiting it alongside me, I pray it encourages you as much today as it did when it first aired.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to join Casey Ruff on Boundless Body Radio for a conversation about my ongoing health journey. After the interview, Casey generously invited me to share the episode here on Intentionally Well, and I knew it was one I wanted to bring to this community.
While many of you have heard pieces of my story over the years, this conversation gave me the chance to reflect on the physical side of my journey in a way I haven't often done on the podcast. We discuss the challenges of navigating chronic symptoms, the search for answers, the realities of living through an ongoing healing process, and what it looks like to continue showing up when the path forward isn't always clear.
I appreciated Casey's thoughtful questions and the space he created for an honest and meaningful discussion, and I'm excited to share it with you today.

In this episode, I’m joined by David Roberts, founder of Mara Labs, for a conversation exploring cellular health, modern environmental stressors, and the body’s natural resilience systems.
David’s journey into this space began after his late wife Mara’s cancer diagnosis, which led him to deeply explore plant-based compounds and how they interact with cellular protection and repair mechanisms. That path eventually led to the development of BrocElite, a stabilized sulforaphane supplement designed to support detoxification pathways, mitochondrial function, and overall cellular resilience.
We discuss topics including sulforaphane, oxidative stress, detoxification and autophagy pathways, metabolic health and GLP-1 signaling, genetic variability such as MTHFR and COMT, and how modern environmental exposures like microplastics may be impacting overall health.
This is a wide-ranging conversation aimed at helping make complex biology more understandable and grounded in real-life application.

In today’s episode, I’m joined by Cherie Calbom, widely known as The Juice Lady. Cherie holds a Master’s degree in nutrition and has been a pioneer in whole-food nutrition and the juicing movement for decades. She is the author of 36 books, including the global bestseller Juicing for Life, which has helped millions of people reclaim their health through vibrant, nourishing foods.
Her latest book, The Truth About Seed Oils, explores one of the most controversial and overlooked topics in modern nutrition:
How industrial seed oils became widely promoted as “heart healthy,” and what that shift may have meant for public health over time.
But this conversation goes far beyond just seed oils.
Together, we explored:
We also found ourselves moving into a more reflective space as we discuss our cultural disconnection from food, the loss of reverence around eating, and what it might look like to return to a more grounded and intentional relationship with nourishment.
This is a conversation that blends history, nutrition, culture, and deeper reflection on what it means to truly nourish the body.

What happens when the experience of chronic illness itself becomes traumatic?
In today’s episode, we explore the intersection of chronic illness, health trauma, the nervous system, and the brain-body connection. This conversation goes beyond root causes and diagnoses to examine what living in survival mode for long periods of time can do to the body, mind, and healing process over time.
Dr. Krista Morton and I discuss how chronic illness can shape the nervous system, reinforce fear patterns, impact emotional safety, and create physiological adaptations that many people living with complex illness know all too well. We also talk about the nuanced relationship between real physical illness and nervous system involvement—and why acknowledging the brain’s role in healing is not the same as dismissing physiological dysfunction.
This was a deeply thoughtful conversation that weaves together physiology, trauma, emotional health, nervous system regulation, and faith in a grounded and compassionate way.
Dr. Krista Morton, D.Sc., MA, INHC is an integrative medicine practitioner and founder of SomaSonder Wellness, where she works with individuals navigating complex chronic illness through a whole-body, root-cause approach that honors both physiology and lived experience. Her work focuses on conditions including mold illness, Lyme disease, MCAS, CIRS, autoimmune conditions, and nervous system dysregulation.

In this episode, I’m joined by classically trained homeopath Krista Rivet for a deeper conversation about homeopathy—what it is, how it’s used, and why it continues to be widely misunderstood.
Rather than staying at the surface level of “homeopathy basics,” we explore the nuance behind this practice: how remedies are selected, why two people with the same diagnosis may require completely different approaches, and what it actually means to treat the individual rather than just the condition.
We also discuss some of the most common misunderstandings around homeopathy (especially in real-world use), along with the role of emotional and mental states in the healing process, and how practitioners think about supporting the body as a whole system.
This conversation is both educational and reflective, and is intended for anyone curious about homeopathy, whether you’re completely new to it or already have experience but want a deeper understanding of how it works in practice.

What happens when a diagnosis becomes the end of the conversation...instead of the beginning?
In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Pamela Cipriano, a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner specializing in functional and integrative medicine, to unpack what’s often missed in modern healthcare. After years working in conventional medicine, and through her own son’s complex health journey with Lyme disease, Dr. Pamela began to see patterns that couldn’t be ignored: patients being labeled, managed, and medicated…without ever truly understanding what was driving their illness.
We dive into the challenges of misdiagnosis, exploring how patients are often given a label while the underlying cause remains hidden. We talk about why conventional testing can miss what’s really going on, when antibiotics may be necessary and how to approach them responsibly, and the impact of chronic inflammation, diet, and other lifestyle factors on reversing disease processes. Dr. Pamela also sheds light on hidden contributors to conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s, why the medical system often stops investigating too soon, and the gap between managing disease and truly resolving it.
If you’ve ever felt like your diagnosis didn’t tell the full story, this episode will give you a completely different lens to look through.

Are hormones really the root driver of so many of the challenges women face, from brain fog and fatigue to anxiety, sleep issues, libido changes, and gut struggles? And is hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, something every woman should consider, or something to fear?
In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Sarah Daccarett, MD, founder of Inner Balance and a nationally recognized expert in women’s hormone health, longevity, and bioidentical hormone optimization. We dive into why she has seen so many women are chase all the wrong solutions for their health, like gut protocols, weight loss, supplements, etc., when hormones may actually be the main driver.
We dive into why many women start HRT later than they might need to, and what earlier support could look like. Along the way, we unpack common misconceptions about HRT and natural aging, and explore how timing, dosage, and delivery systems can make all the difference. We also look at the broader picture of how hormones influence immunity, metabolism, sexual health, and brain function, and why fear and misinformation around HRT continue to persist.
I share my own questions, hesitations, and devil’s advocate thoughts throughout the conversation, and reflect on how this discussion has somewhat shifted my perspective. This is a nuanced and practical conversation for women of all ages who want to understand their bodies more deeply, make informed choices, and reclaim clarity and agency in their health.

In this powerful episode, I sit down with Dr. Adam Urato, a practicing Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist and Harvard-trained physician who is breaking the silence on what he has seen over decades of working with pregnant women and their babies.
Dr. Urato has been on the front lines of high-risk pregnancies, and what he has witnessed compelled him to compassionately speak up. He is now actively challenging the FDA to update the labeling on SSRIs (commonly known as antidepressants), due to their potential impact on fetal development.
But keep in mind, this conversation is not just for pregnant women.
It is for anyone who has ever trusted a prescription, followed medical advice without question, or wondered why our healthcare system continues to spend more while producing some of the worst outcomes among developed nations.
In this episode, we explore:
• The real risks of antidepressant use during pregnancy
• What the science actually says and why it is often buried
• How regulatory bodies and pharmaceutical companies shape the narrative
• Why informed consent is more critical than ever
• How the system is working for profits, not health
This episode is a must-listen for anyone who wants to make truly informed choices about their body, their healthcare, and their family.

This week, we are revisiting one of the most popular episodes of Intentionally Well, as it's been on my heart personally to re-share this important discussion. With a major lack of informed consent and continuous denial from practitioners, countless people have and are suffering from Botox injections worldwide. Despite growing awareness, the majority of society is still in the dark regarding this neurotoxin, and informed consent is critical when considering. Most providers today are also unaware of the suffering and negative effects for a variety of reasons, which complicates actual and factual informed consent from taking place.
The Never Tox team has worked tirelessly to disclose correct patient information and set up a comprehensive support system for those who are in need of help post-injury or side effects. Gretch serves up some cold hard facts regarding statistics, shares plenty of anecdotal evidence, and answers all the typical "exception" questions one may have regarding the safety of Botox injections. She also educates us on the devastating reality of how it can play a huge role in one's mental/emotional health status. Never Tox is dedicated to helping people connect the dots between Botox injections and their health issues, and continues to compassionately advocate for those who've unfortunately been injured.

They believe it's critically important to continue to fight for EVERYONE'S freedoms and rights, and they are by no means done with trying to restructure and pass Yulia's Law.

In this episode, I sit down with return guests Amanda Porta and Robyn Towt to discuss an extremely important update within the breast implant industry. With a new, "safer" Motiva implant pending FDA approval, these women want to make sure the truth is given to all women considering implants in the future. This implant (that was supposed to hit the U.S. market in 2023) claims to be vastly safer than its competitors because of revolutionary technology (including a microchip), and backed by "rigorous science" and "clinical data."
Both Amanda and Robyn have graciously come back to properly educate us all on what's really going on and that despite claims, this shiny new option is not what it's cracked up to be. As well-known patient advocates, both women feel it is their duty and responsibility to highlight the unfortunate and consistent safety concerns, along with the fact that nearly all safety studies advertised by the company have conflicts of interest. These implants are also already approved in some countries, where authorities have come forward with serious concerns, considering the onset of symptoms/illness they are seeing.
With the date of FDA approval unknown, these women are passionate about continuing to share the crucial importance of both real informed consent, as well as call attention to the common health concerns that are associated with ALL breast implants, including this upcoming option. They want women to be aware of the fact that the majority of doctors are not given the full story, and are sadly unaware of the realities of BII, as well as cancer concerns.

Ian's story and leap of faith highlights one very important thing: The body CAN heal given the right tools and environment. His dedication to see his healing through wasn't an easy road, but it resulted in his now-superb health status, and was the catalyst to unlocking certain "keys" to cleaning up body toxicities we commonly deal with.

In this episode, I have a forthright and highly thoughtful conversation with Chronic Pain Coach, Dan Buglio, who specializes in TMS (Tension Myositis Syndrome) and Mindbody resolution.
This conversation is a MUST LISTEN if you or someone you know is suffering from chronic pain or other chronic symptoms DESPITE your/their diagnosis, imaging results, surgery reports, etc.
Dan has been sharing content on how to break free from chronic pain through his Pain Free You channels for over four years now, and has helped thousands resolve chronic issues that were thought of as impossible to change. His work is largely based off of TMS (pioneered by Dr. John Sarno), but has also branched off to further educate people on what he calls "perceived danger pain."
While pain is not "our fault," we can unintentionally find ourselves in a cycle of chronic pain due to the information our brain is continually receiving (this also includes a large range of other symptoms such as IBS, fibromyalgia, tinnitus, vertigo, anxiety, migraine headaches, skin issues, food sensitivities, etc.). Dan's goal is to teach others how to teach their brain that they are not in danger, therefore creating safety so the brain can then operate off of good information versus misinformation and bad data.
The majority of us have been programmed to think that we have to live with chronic pain/symptoms due to injury, surgery, degeneration and age, a medical diagnosis, unknown reasons, and even repressed emotional turbulence/trauma. Many of us have also medicalized our situations, believing that there is no out because we feel we have a "real problem" that cannot be solved or fixed. However, countless willing people who've led with an open mind have changed their situations due to Dan's guidance, teachings, and daily videos.

In this episode, I have the wonderful opportunity to sit down with Brad Yates...speaker, author, YouTuber, and "Tapping" Extraordinaire. Tapping, also known as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is a very simple healing tool to help oneself clear mental and emotional blockages that could be keeping them stuck to any degree in life. Brad's genuine intent to share a couple basic videos on YouTube years ago exploded as people took to his creative and often humorous use of EFT, which led to his now massive online presence, with over 1000 videos and 45 million views. Tapping is used as an effective method of physically resetting the body’s fear response by tapping on energy meridians throughout the body, while talking through the process in order to facilitate the clearing of emotional resistance and/or trauma. Join me as I sit down with international model, actress, and philanthropist Joy Corrigan, to candidly talk about her journey with Breast Implant Illness and how this experience has led her down a path towards self-discovery and deeper healing.
This special episode highlights the very real issues concerning Breast Implant Illness, and how impactful the effects of implants can be on the body. Joy does a beautiful job of sharing her story, illustrating the road leading up to her decision to explant, and the emotional turbulence she experienced prior to surgery. We chat about the behind-the-scenes reality of what was physically going on for years and how her body's cues crept in little by little.
This amazing conversation not only reveals the destructive nature of BII, but also calls attention to a much deeper message...as we dive into the importance of mental and emotional health, self-reflection, healing trauma, and more.
Joy gives us a very raw take on how the modeling industry and it's expectations can take a massive toll on body image/self worth, and that we've all been sold a false bill of goods as to what true beauty really entails.
Joy has discovered that she's been divinely called to share her journey and use her platform to help others potentially connect the dots in their own lives...while also bringing imperative awareness to the fact that authentic healing is much more than a physical venture. She shares that trial and struggle are a very real part of life despite career choices, success, status, or fame...and that it's ultimately OUR job to take agency over our health and life.
You'll undoubtedly be touched by this conversation, as you're met with Joy's honesty and genuine determination to help others today and in the days ahead.
Please don't forget to share this episode with someone you believe will benefit from listening, and if you feel called to share your thoughts with either Joy or myself, please don't hesitate...we'd love to hear from you.

In this eye-opening episode, I sit down with Patient Advocates Amanda Porta and Robyn Towt to have a much needed and detailed discussion about Breast Implant Illness.
Both with remarkable stories and a passion for education, Amanda and Robyn
are on a prominent mission to spread truth among women across the world, in efforts to highlight the very real and COMMON happenings associated with breast implants.
Amanda has worked in and throughout the beauty/plastic surgery industry for decades, and was ultimately inspired to pursue Holistic Health coaching. Now laser focused on guiding women with BII towards healing and optimal health, she has dedicated her life to redirecting the public’s view on what health and beauty really entails. As someone who never saw critical or chronic health issues prior to implants, she’s determined to use her voice and expose the darker sides of beauty procedures and the industry’s dirty secrets.
Robyn—now three-time cancer survivor—became co-founder of the Global Patient Advocacy Coalition (GPAC) and is also an administrator in various online support groups for women who are suffering from BII. She’s worked extensively with Arizona legislators in passing an informed consent law for breast implant surgery, and the GPAC team has also partnered with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) to develop a patient decision checklist.
With both of these women having experienced BII and explant surgeries, they know firsthand how real and truly life-altering these decisions can be. They believe every patient should be given the opportunity to make an educated and informed choice, and that means having ALL of the information, not just selected information.

Welcome to what feels like the first episode of the INTENTIONALLY UNPREPARED Series! My current thought is to sprinkle these "couch conversations" in from time to time...as they definitely reflect a different feel than all of the other episodes here on Intentionally Well.
The following is a candid chat (versus an interview) with Homeopathic Doctor, Sarah Trask...about our faith in God and healing. Life's trials and tribulations can often be very hard to bear, and we find ourselves depleted and defeated, wondering if we will ever see change. In our human quest for control and power, these trials hit our lives FOR us, despite our pain, sorrow, grief, or discomfort. The "growing pains" we face are usually great and purposeful gifts, and pave the way for both our surrendering and our salvation.
In this unconventional episode, Sarah and I bring what would be a typical phone conversation of ours to the podcast mic. It is an extremely raw, imperfect, organic episode with no prep and all heart.

-Are we overconsuming and under-applying our knowledge?
-Why do we have such a hard time applying learned information and creating new habits?
-Can we trust doctors or other medical professionals with our diets?
-How can we decipher what's best for us and get around food marketing tactics?
-What kind of snack foods and store-bought foods are truly better to buy?
-How can we simplify our meals without stress or obsession?

Here I have the truest honor of sitting down with Dr. David Evans (DVM), a classically trained veterinarian who then converted over to homeopathic medicine after a unique experience with his own personal health.
This discussion is dynamic, info-packed, and full of compassion, as Dr. David Evans educates on how the holistic system of homeopathy works by eliminating the underlying imbalance in an pet/animal's body, therefore eliminating unwanted or uncomfortable symptoms and rising their overall vitality.
We chat about homeopathy vs. conventional vet medicine, pet susceptibilities and genetics, vaccinations, pet grief, pet loss, acute/chronic care, diets, skin concerns, flea/tick care, and so much more.

In this episode, I have the pleasure of sitting down with licensed acupuncturist and functional medicine specialist Nick Fransen, who's mission is to help people overcome the subconscious blocks that are keeping them STUCK. Nick has dedicated his time and efforts towards educating patients/people about the unhelpful patterns of our subconscious mind, and how breaking them can lead to healing the body and creating more peace and success in one's life.
We largely discuss how the body really does "keep score," and how health conditions, sleep troubles, addictions, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and more can really be the result of subconscious programming associated with past life circumstances and/or trauma. Nick teaches us the different ways our minds become programmed, and how it's very common to see people with chronic health conditions unintentionally held back from healing due to these hardwired beliefs, attitudes, and blocks. He shares how this also applies to other versions of feeling "stuck" in life, such as relationship/marital issues, career and financial stress, and more.
This conversation is the real deal. We share a lot of candid conversation, personal stories, and more during this chat; we even talk forgiveness, harboring resentments, and the emotional toll it takes on us when we avoid this very important piece of “wellness.”
Nick then gives us a great glimpse at how a specific type of homeopathy (discovered in Europe) can help guide us towards breaking these subconscious patterns, loops, and habits. When we start to address this often-missed aspect of health and healing, we open the door for long-time burdens to be alleviated, and create space for us to thrive in health and in our lives overall.

In this interview, I have a thought-provoking conversation with Rick Olderman, orthopedic physical therapist specializing in chronic pain and nagging injuries that "seem to be incapable" of healing.
A huge motivating factor behind Rick’s search for answers was his own chronic back pain, and after years in clinic but unable to fully help patients, he realized that the fundamental and crucial element connecting movement, structure, and pain was missing from the general conventional physical therapy practice. With additional training and knowledge in Pilates, personal training, and yoga--yet still coming up short--Rick went on to dedicate the last two decades towards pioneering this systems-based research.
His affordable at-home programs provide a much deeper understanding of how unhelpful lifestyle habits and movement patterns can break down muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bone, which in turn creates pain. He's written several books, including his newest, "Solving the Pain Puzzle," and Rick holds a very stern belief that given the right tools, we absolutely have the ability to heal chronic pain.
Rick and I talk about everything from the faulty belief systems we have about our bodies, we discuss why this systems-based approach is not addressed in PT school, he educates us on the patterns of dysfunction, goes through some interactive exercises with us, and so much more. This episode is truly supercharged with detailed information, and provides much hope to those who've felt stuck because of their pain.

Welcome to your ultimate guide to ALL THINGS mushrooms and mushroom supplementation! I sit down with Jeff Chilton during this interview, ethno-mycologist and passionate founder and president of Nammex, which happens to be the very first company to offer a complete line of Certified Organic Mushroom extracts to the United States Supplement Industry.
This is a super fun and educational episode about mushrooms, as we first talk about their growing cycle, and then how they can be used as nutritional powerhouses in our diets and at home. We talk about the popular and delicious mushrooms to use in our kitchen, including ways to optimally use them, wash them, and simply cook them.
Jeff then gracefully and truthfully opens the door to the "functional mushroom" world, where we get into some really interesting realities about the supplement industry. He candidly shares what he refers to as the "adulteration of these supplements," and I was a bit shocked to hear just how prevalent these sideways practices are! He gives us all the warnings and details on what to look for when looking for a quality mushroom/adaptogen supplement, goes over the testing methods, and more. We also chat about a couple of fun mushrooms like Reishi and Lion's Mane, where he gives us a nice breakdown of their primary uses and benefits.
Jeff is a true industry leader, educator and MASTER when it comes to mushrooms, and his affection for them is highly palpable. Whether you've journeyed through a cancer diagnosis or you know someone that has, this eye-opening episode is a must-listen for all. I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with Holistic Nutritionist, 2nd Generation Master Pilates teacher, author, educator and international presenter, Katrina Foe, who's passionate focus is currently working as a Certified Metabolic Approach to Cancer Practitioner.
After addressing her own cancer diagnosis 100% naturally, Katrina was driven to explore and expand on the way we look at health and the human body as a whole. Now also faculty at Restorative Wellness Solutions, Katrina is immersed in helping clients address their individual diagnoses, and educate them on not only why cancer was allowed to proliferate in the first place, but guide them in healing with less fear and more empowerment.
We touch on SO much during this episode, as we discuss and summarize Katrina's ROOT CAUSE approach to cancer, and we chat about all of the necessary categories (terrains) she dives into. We talk about functional lab testing that is commonly missed among the mainstream medical model, we go over common misconceptions about the holistic cancer approach, we candidly discuss the disturbing realities of insurance and how people get stuck inside the system, and much more.
Katrina's ultimate goal is to help guide those with cancer towards a comprehensive understanding of what is actually going on with their bodies, and how addressing their circumstance from the root will not only aid in healing, but give them the faith and confidence to walk out their lives with peace instead of fear of recurrence.

In this episode, I have the lovely opportunity to sit down with the creators of TheConnection Codes, Dr. Glenn and Phyllis Hill. After 30 years of a troublesome and painful marriage, Dr. Glenn decided to go back for his Masters in Marriage and Family, along with a doctorate in Clinical Sexology. He was determined to figure out why his marriage was so hard to navigate, and learned through years of studying that we as humans are hardwired to experience connection through emotion, NOT logistics. Once he and Phyllis started putting the pieces together based on brain science, they realized that the key was not only uncovering the WHY behind disconnection, but figuring out the recipe for reconnection.
Dr. Glenn and Phyllis very candidly share the intimate details of their past and what shifted for them right after their wedding (now 40 years ago), and we first chat a bunch about the common misconceptions regarding sexual and intimate connection that are still taking place in today's world. We talk about how and why so many marriages seem to be struggling, and how many feel that all hope is lost because nothing has "worked." They talk about how while sex is a very important part of connection in a relationship, it doesn't always mean that couples are emotionally connected, and how loneliness can still be extremely prevalent.
Dr. Glenn and Phyllis share the premise behind The Connection Codes, and how they've humbly witnessed countless couples go from total despair to repair, and back to a place of emotional safety and contentment. Their tools are designed to be simple and tangible, so that exhausted couples can find themselves becoming UNSTUCK quicker than they think. The Connection Codes are all based off of the "human condition," as they teach us the language of how people are inherently designed to connect with one another in a relationship.
Whether you're looking to improve your relationship, you're engaged to be married and want to level-up your emotional intelligence, or you're simply looking to become more skilled in general interpersonal communication, this episode will provide an open door. Dr. Glenn and Phyllis wholeheartedly believe that most people don't need better intentions, just better tools, and they give us a ton of beautiful insight during this eye-opening, honest, and inspiring discussion.
In this super informational episode, I sit down with Stephanie Reed, Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner with an expertise in DETOX. After years of struggling with her own thyroid and gut issues, she discovered that her abundant toxic load was drastically impacting her ability to heal. Stephanie works with clients to improve their overall health by the implementation of effective detox practices and protocols, all tailored to their individual needs.
This chat is literally overflowing with information on the WHAT, WHY, WHEN, and HOW regarding detox. We discuss what detox is and what it is NOT, and we go over why detoxing is nearly essential today due to the world we're currently living in.
Stephanie gets into the gritty details of parasite cleansing, the main detox pathways of the body, and how to open these pathways along with her most recommended suggestions. She and I share personal stories of our past mistakes with detoxing, and how learning how to tune in to your body's unique needs is not only helpful, but essential. She also digs into the very real concept of "overwhelm" when it comes to health and healing, and gives us tips on how to approach our situations with a balanced mindset.
From coffee enemas, to supplements, to her Instagram parasite photography, there is little left unturned during this entertaining and educational episode!

In this fully-stocked episode, I have the honor of sitting down with Christine Williams, the beautiful face behind the fast-growing, off-grid homestead account @homemaderevival. Christine and her husband Joel have dedicated their lives towards educating others on emergency preparedness and self-sufficiency, through a logical and non-fear-based approach.
Their own trials and challenges catapulted them into becoming "accidental preppers" as they like to say, and they've since cultivated a social media community where they've assisted thousands of people in efforts to help them prep for small and/or large scale events.
This episode is highly geared towards the everyday individual or family, and Christine gives us all we need to know regarding the basics of emergency awareness and preparedness...on a budget.
We discuss the essentials like water, food, shelter, storage, healthcare (medicinal supplies/remedies), and more; she also tackles some popular "prep misconceptions," and illustrates how we don't have to break the bank in order to get/stay prepared.
Christine also beautifully chats about the importance of community building and forming local relationships, and how this is a key aspect when it comes to thriving among tough circumstances.
At the end of the day, Christine, Joel, and their seven children have one goal in mind: To empower people and families through supportive education and resources, and guide them to a place of peace and self-sufficiency regardless of location. This faith-filled, homeschooling, veteran family feels overwhelmingly called to serve in this way, and their HEART for it all is beyond inspirational.

In this episode, I eagerly sit down with Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, CPT, and master of all things minerals, Margaret Barry.
Margaret's expertise in metabolic health, mineral balancing, and the body's fascial system is set apart from many, as she so passionately shares her knowledge regularly from her popular Instagram account @musclesandmotherhood, and works with clients one on one.
During this discussion, she gives us a legit, easy-to-understand lesson on minerals and how they influence every system in our body. She helps us understand how to assess our "levels" and how minerals need to be looked at in ratio to each other, as well their synergistic relationship to the vitamin family. She provides examples of specific imbalance patterns that she commonly sees in her practice, and touches on several "mineral misconceptions." We talk about types of testing, and how testing is definitely not for diagnostic purposes, but simply a tool to help paint a picture of what's going on in our body.
We also dive deep into the mineral dysregulation/stress connection, and how imbalances are still merely symptoms of a deeper-rooted mental/emotional issue. Margaret gives us a ton of information to digest in regards to the mind-body connection, and even gives us a beautiful breakdown on how stress/trauma, minerals, and fascia are all interconnected. She's so full of tips and supportive information, and at the end of the day, she wants us to remember that no body system works alone.
Note: If interested in working with Margaret 1:1, the linktree link below is where you can find more information and contact her directly!

In this highly educational episode, I sit down with trauma-informed somatic coach Mandy Flanders, and she serves up a huge dose of material to chew on regarding nervous system health. Mandy is an expert in nervous system regulation and co-regulation, with signature focuses on conscious parenting, attachment + parts work, somatic experiencing, the polyvagal theory, and more. She is super passionate about helping people and clients understand their unique patterns of "stuckness," to where they can then begin to unwind these inclinations and heal their bodies and their relationships.
Mandy emphasizes the cruciality of the nervous system and its influence on our well-being, and does an amazing job of explaining how the system itself works. She shares about the common misconceptions people often have when it comes to nervous system regulation/dysregulation, so we can better understand our bodies from a biological perspective. She chats with me about how trauma and childhood can play a significant role in how we develop patterns, and also goes into how this heavily influences our close relationships and parenting styles.
Due to the body's amazing adaptation strategies, Mandy explains that it can be very difficult to heal from anything with a chronically dysregulated nervous system, and she thankfully comes through with several tips to get us started. She shares her faith in the body's resiliency, and its ability to change and achieve autonomic flexibility given the right tools. She even shares her own experiences as proof, and wants us all to understand the truth: That healing is absolutely possible, and that there is always more to your story, even if you feel like you've tried "everything." This discussion is full of insight, packed with education, and stamped with HOPE.
This episode is the perfect follow-up to the last, because I gratefully sit down with Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Licensed Cosmetologist, Jessica Rose. In a day where nearly everyone is concerned about aging and their appearance, Jessica bridges the gap between health and beauty by helping people of all ages make better lifestyle choices. In this discussion, she not only educates us on how our overall toxic load can accelerate the aging process, but she gives us several alternative beauty methods to look into. While so many opt for quicker fixes and more conventional options, Jessica feels that it is entirely possible and much healthier to approach beauty in a holistic fashion. She feels that we should care about our outer appearance, but that authentic beauty starts from within and it really is an inside job.
We chat about several of her current, favorite holistic beauty techniques and routines, how lymph drainage and proper hydration are imperative for graceful aging, and she even gives us her thoughts on some popular not-as-aggressive treatment options. We talk about her view on sunscreen usage, she gives us some really cool information on hair care, and she even goes into how mental and emotional health play a vital role in how we age.
At the end of the day, Jessica wants us all to remember that aging is inevitably a part of LIVING, and while we should embrace the gift that it is, we can also implement holistic practices to help us not only look beautiful at any age, but feel that way too.
This mind-blowing episode undoubtedly illuminates the shocking dark side of the billion dollar Botox industry. Here, I am blessed with the unique opportunity to sit with Gretch Elizabeth, a passionate patient advocate who helps run the Never Tox Community Group. She is also a primary admin for the largest international Botox injury support group in the world.
During this discussion, Gretch brings all of the dirt to the surface when it comes to this dangerous neurotoxin, as she's dedicated her life to relentlessly researching Iatrogenic Botulism Poisoning. Her and the team have worked tirelessly to disclose correct patient information, provide informed consent details, and set up a comprehensive support system for those who are in need of help post-injury or side effects. The Never Tox team works with all types of industry professionals including doctors and researchers, and are often up-to-date on news and facts before most mainstream industry clinicians.
Gretch serves up some cold, hard facts regarding statistics, shares plenty of anecdotal evidence, and answers all the typical "exception" questions one may have regarding the safety of Botox injections. She also educates us on the devastating reality of how it can play a huge role in one's mental/emotional health status, and we even chat about the deeper cultural agenda at hand.
Never Tox is dedicated to helping people connect the dots between Botox injections and their health issues, and the community leaders want everyone to be truly informed, in comparison to the lukewarm version most are receiving worldwide. Despite the skill level of even the best practitioners, there's more systemic and/or long-term risk than what's being disclosed, but unfortunately profit has and will always come before patient safety.
The supportive and educational resources provided by Never Tox are exceptional; see below for detailed information on all of their offerings, free of charge.
In this jam-packed episode, I have the pleasure of sitting down with Adam Marafioti, owner of the bioenergetic-focused supplement company, LifeBlud. This chat beautifully outlines all there is to know about the fascinating substance known as methylene blue, as Adam breaks down the mechanisms behind it in an easy-to-understand manner. He shares the science behind why it has the unique ability to positively affect mitochondrial function and restore energy, which has resulted in the turn around of countless health ailments. He answers all the common questions, while sharing testimonies he's seen come through from thousands of people who've added MB to their wellness toolbox. This swiss-army-knife-type remedy is worth learning about no matter what you may be challenged with from a health standpoint.
Adam also spends some time discussing how the current/mainstream paradigms regarding sickness and disease may be something to rethink. He gives a healthy dose of open-minded insight regarding the reasons behind the body's adaptations to stress, and explains how chronic exposure to environmental pollutants and everyday toxins can hinder healing. He also touches on the fundamental reasons behind why detox is important in today's modern world, and that it's not just what we eat, but what we absorb.
Adam's tenaciously curious efforts within the holistic health space have inspired many toward the realization that although the world pushes us to blindly outsource, taking true agency over our lives will pave the way toward much better outcomes regarding our well-being.
In this episode, I sit down with the beautiful face and CEO behind FATSKN, Caitlin Warrington. FATSKN is currently the most well-known tallow skincare brand in Canada, much due to her minimalistic approach and dedication to developing high-quality products, as she has come to realize the climbing demand. Through her own desire to create non-toxic, nutrient-dense skincare for her family, Caitlin discovered that tallow-based products serve the skin differently and in ways where other products fall short.
We talk about everything from the basics and fundamentals regarding tallow and what separates it from other natural substances, and we also discuss common concerns many have regarding the average store-bought skincare today. We chat about Caitlin's perspective on seed oils (PUFAs), essential oils, common skin conditions, infant and child skin concerns/tips, magnesium, and so much more. Her "less-is-more" approach to not only skincare but overall wellness brings a fresh perspective: Essentially, well-sourced, quality ingredients and minimal steps will always beat out complicated regimens.
Happy New Year my friends. I hope this message of reflection brings you hope and courage as we enter the year ahead. My desire is that the following (23) musings will inspire and encourage you, as you step into unchartered territory. With the world showing its true colors more and more each day, I believe it's of top priority to get our health and hearts in order. Thank you for the support you've shown me since the launch of this show, and I look forward to sharing so much more with you in 2023!
During this very candid episode, I sit down with seasoned registered nurse Morgan Hebb, who opens up about the harsh realities of standardized health care. Her years in a hospital setting and clinicals (NP degree in progress) have opened her eyes to the system's downfalls, and how quality care is truly hard to find. She explains that there are amazing people threaded throughout the system, but that the system itself is purposefully broken due to one main, overarching goal: PROFIT.
She goes into detail about how insurance dictates the average patient experience, how overprescribing meds is a massive health crisis in itself, and how providers simply do not have the tools or the time to dedicate towards educating patients on preventative wellness.
Morgan answers a few listener questions, gives us her opinion on what it takes to actually become your own health advocate, and even provides a few amazing resources on how to research providers that take on a more integrative, functional approach to medicine.
While there is definitely a place for Western medicine, she very honestly reminds us that it is not in our best interest to be dependent on the system, and that optimal health and well-being cannot be outsourced.
This incredible episode highlights the foundational ABC's of blood sugar health in a way that is comprehensive, yet very easy-to-understand. During this informational conversation, I had the pleasure of sitting down with specialized registered dietitian, Isaac Pohlman, who's knowledge regarding diabetes and blood sugar balancing has helped countless adults that have surrounding concerns. He takes us through a crash course by explaining many of the popular terms regarding blood sugar, while also going into thoughtful detail about connected topics such as mineral balancing, the impact of chronic stress, and so much more. He gives tangible tips on how to positively influence our blood sugar levels, and his clear and compassionate message is this: While it is of upmost concern to those with a related condition, blood sugar health should be on everyone's radar, as it plays a vital role in our overall health and well-being.
In this episode, I chat with holistic nutritionist Neenet Hairapetian, who specializes in helping women restore their metabolism, heal their gut, balance their hormones, all while heavily educating on the importance of a functional and balanced diet. Neenet is super passionate and enthusiastic about debunking wellness-y trends and other dietary habits, and she gets real about how many seemingly "healthy" routines are simply not sustainable for the majority of women long-term. In this discussion, we get into detail about the drawbacks of on-trend diets like veganism and keto, and how they can unfortunately wreck a woman's hormonal health status (especially during her childbearing years). We also talk about other narratives and "not-so-healthy" tips often discussed in wellness circles, as well as the importance of minerals and how the proper nutrients can really make or break metabolic function. Neenet provides a bunch of simple suggestions to implement in efforts to achieve more daily balance...which translates to a healthier, happier, less stressful life.
In this unique episode, I sit down with specialized Holistic Health Coach Mishi Garcia, who's dedicated her work to helping women overcome and heal from Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, otherwise known as the loss of a woman's period during her reproductive years. During our conversation, we discuss the physiological details of what's occurring with the body when a woman experiences HA, as well as the mental challenges that parallel it. We talk about how the body's main focus is safety and how that is paramount for healing to occur, and she also gives valuable tips on how to speak to your own doctor if you're experiencing abnormal symptoms. She educates on how women should look to the menstrual cycle as a monthly metabolic report card, and validates how much of this information was never even touched upon in our younger years. This episode is highly educational and gives a very well-rounded perspective on how body literacy can be achieved and that it is key to living in optimal health.
In this amazing episode, I have an incredibly important conversation with Lena Le Huray, who has an exceptional amount of knowledge in the world of health and psychology. Lena's background and trying personal experiences led her to the discovery of her special interest in health psychology, and here she gives us a huge chunk of information on what it really means to age well. She goes into detail about subjective age, and explains that how we FEEL is actually more important than our chronological age. She also talks about important factors such as the concept of having "agency' over our lives, the critical component of building and maintaining muscle mass, as well as the social determinants that play a major role in how we age overtime. Aging well, as opposed to just living a "long life," is most likely everyone's concern, and this episode is wildly packed with information that can absolutely empower you. Lena's valuable insight shines a light on the fact that healthy aging is multifaceted, and I am certain you'll walk away from this one feeling educated and inspired.
In this brief solo episode, I candidly share some of my thoughts surrounding the unhelpful comparison game we all commonly play from time to time. In today's modern and digital world, we are consistently lured in to viewing other people's filtered lives, and it's doing a number on our self-image, our nervous systems, and therefore our overall well-being. We are leaving the door open for chronic deception and distraction, and it's setting us back now more than ever.
Here, I not only discuss how the comparison trap is a destructive web to get tangled up in, but I give a real-life example of how I've seen it play out in my own life, as well as thoughtful tips on how to minimize this behavior so you can stay present and grounded in your own.
In this episode I get to sit down with Taryn Hussey (Shank), a Holistic Health Coach and very seasoned Wellness Blogger! Taryn has a plethora of knowledge regarding diet culture/anti-diet culture and the "food freedom" sector of the wellness world, and has worked with people worldwide to overcome their unhealthy relationships with food and body image. This conversation is full of real talk, including the importance of healing traumas associated with disordered eating, her honest take on all the social media noise regarding the anti-diet culture movement, and so much more. Taryn's success came to fruition after many past struggles with her own body and self-image, and here she candidly dishes out some really sound, attainable advice on how to truly nourish your body and mind.

In this episode, I have a beautiful and thought-provoking sit down with Michelle Piccione, founder and face behind Mushaboom Traditional Midwifery and Sovereign Birth. Serving families and mothers entirely outside of the allopathic medical system, she practices outside of the medicalized midwife community as well. This show is jam-packed with truths surrounding the differences between the types of midwifery and caretakers, as well as valuable information regarding the the physiological birthing experience. We chat about her own journey and what led her to this line of work, the potential fears surrounding home births, and she gives an abundance of advice to those who may want to explore this topic, or simply just gain knowledge on birthing options outside of a hospital setting.
There is no right way to do things surrounding pregnancy and the birth process, and I believe today's show is a wonderful and gracious reminder that as a whole, we are not always aware of ALL of our options regarding big health decisions. I personally learned so much during this very candid, very honest conversation, and I am certain you will find this episode an informational and intriguing one.
In this episode, I have the absolute pleasure of speaking with Jenn Merrick, who is currently a Functional Nutritional Therapy/Restorative Wellness Practitioner, as well as the owner of Jenn Merrick Wellness. Before diving into this side of root-cause health care, Jenn was practicing as a paramedical esthetician for 15 years, and worked with hundreds of people who were challenged with minor to severe skin issues. Her path changed however, after she realized that the health of the skin was definitely an inside job, and passionately sought out on a quest to educate herself further in order to help clients with their overall metabolic health. Jenn is full of knowledge and really highlights the fact that the conditions we face are just a symptom of a deeper imbalance, and that healing is absolutely possible. This show is full of wonderful reminders and easy-to-implement takeaways when it comes to skin health and improving the state of our metabolism from a foundational and cellular level.
This episode is a very personal one for me, and it's one I hope will shed a little light as to why I'm so passionate about health and overall well-being. Here, I share a more detailed overview of my past and the events that have led me to this moment in time. My journey is undoubtedly the catalyst to this podcast, and I felt it was important to share my story a bit more intimately, so that you could simply get to know me a bit better. My goal is to also flood you with hope if you (or someone you know) is challenged with what seems like an impossible mountain to climb. We don't always understand why we're faced with the circumstances presented to us and FOR us, but there is always a bigger plan at play. As we walk the path, we continue to turn over stones that help disclose the true purpose behind our struggles, which can ultimately aid in the healing of our body, mind, but most importantly...our soul.
In this episode, I sit down with Jared Ralsky, current NBA scout and certified Holistic Health Coach, to talk about "getting back to the fundamentals" when it comes to our health. Many of us find ourselves chasing the latest and greatest tools, gadgets, therapies, supplements, etc., and while these things can be useful, we often skip the foundational basics of healing. We discuss many common (but not always thought of) speed bumps that hinder our health journeys, the effects of social media on our well-being, tips for purchasing real food in today's modern world, and MUCH more.
Welcome to the Intentionally Well Podcast! Today's sweet little launch episode is one where I'll simply be sharing what's to come here on the show. As your host, I look forward to bringing you informative, thought-provoking, and fun episodes...where we chat about ALL aspects of health, and what it really means to be BE WELL.
