Hi! Welcome to Horchata Time With Mely, a podcast about the intricacies of life from the perspective of a 23-year-old Mexican-American woman and her guests that will range from young to old. This show will include topics that are often hard to discuss, but necessary. Life can be scary to navigate but having people around that listen and make you feel less alone is what makes the world go round. So, listen while you’re on your hot girl walks, working out, eating, sleeping, showering, or just simply sipping some horchata and get ready for el chisme (the gossip).

There was always a mental checklist I'd keep in my mind when I was little and living in our Hispanic household: obey, take and don't fight back, do nothing out of the norm, just be happy, don't get 'la chancla' thrown at me, and be the perfect child.
