Vidal Chavannes is former Liberal MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes’ husband. He serves as the current Director of Strategy, Research & Organizational Performance with the Durham Regional Police Service. 

Vidal has more than 15 years of extensive experience in education and training in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He is currently also a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the University of Toronto, where he is working on a national research study focused on Black student university access. He is also an Associate Member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies at the Toronto Metropolitan University.

He holds a B.A. and B.Ed from York University, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Calgary.

Arlene Perly Rae is a renowned Canadian author, literary critic, and board member, she also happens to be married to the Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations - and former Premier of Ontario - Bob Rae.  You may also know Mr. Rae as the interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada between 2011 to 2013.
