Looking back on the year of 2023 and some of the lessons God taught me. This year was extremely difficult; so much that I briefly considered turning my back on God- but instead I clung to Him harder. This episode is an overview of what I learned through this tumultuous season.

Scriptures:

  • Genesis 50:20 (KJV, NIV)
  • KJV: “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”
  • NIV: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

  • Romans 8:28 (KJV): “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”

  • Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV): “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Mental health has always seemed like a taboo topic within the Church body. It's hard to be sensitive to struggles of the mind without watering down the Truth of scripture. In this episode I tackle the topic of Anxiety, a struggle I am far too familiar with. There is a way to be sensitive and not compromise on calling out anxiety for what it is; it's not just spiritual but it's also not something too big for God to handle. Tune in as I talk about my journey to freedom from anxiety and offer tips to conquer one of the biggest mental struggles the modern world (yes, it's a statistic- Google search 'biggest mental health issues').

Here are just a FEW (there are plenty more) scriptures that, combined with full faith in Jesus, may help combat anxiety!

Matthew 6:34 II Timothy 1:7 Isaiah 41:10 Joshua 1:9

"But Jesus flipped tables!!"

Emotions can be pretty heated and it is easy to let them lead us if we are not crucifying our flesh. If you are anything like me, you still get caught up in anger every once in a while. You might have issues navigating the rage-TRUST ME, I understand. But is it okay to be angry? What do we do with that emotion? In this episode, we'll cover what the Bible says about anger and some practical ways to manage this red-hot emotion!

This episode highlights the difficulty in giving God your "yes." Even in times and situations where it seems like it's a bad idea, we ought to be obedient. It's not always clear or easy, but building the muscle of trusting in God is key to operating in His will! I've had my share of experiences where God was trying to direct me but instead, I focused on the reasons to say "No" to Him. Listen closely to my testimony and you might glean a thing or two that could prevent you from moving like Jonah!

We're tackling one of the most un-talked about topics within the Christian faith- SEX! We'll go over what scripture says about sex and marriage and how to fight sexual sin. There's also a mini testimony on my experience with sexual sin. And of course we're keeping it classy, so feel free to share with your sisters in Christ or anyone else you may think would benefit from this episode! Welcome to the first episode of Wondurfully Spoken! I've been waiting to share the details of why it's important to wait on God and understand how to prepare for the promises He's given. In this episode, I share my experience of what it's like to wait and what has happened in the past when I took matters into my own hands instead of following God's instructions!
