Hey All!
Yeah, I haven't posted anything on Hive or 3Speak in a while.
Just have been really busy lately with work and all.
But anyways, it's almost Techno Christmas! In Detroit, the Memorial Weekend is considered a techno christmas because of the Movement Electronic Music festival (Formally known as DEMF).
So, I decided to record a DJ set! This time, I added some Phonk in the mix! I love Phonk but they are hard to mix since each track is only about 2 mins long.

Pero de todos modos, ¡es casi Techno Christmas! En Detroit, el Memorial Weekend se considera una Navidad tecno debido al festival Movement Electronic Music (anteriormente conocido como DEMF).

¡Espero que tu semana haya comenzado bien! Todavía estoy en la playa de Puerto Escondido y es otro día caluroso aquí.
Aquí está mi segundo video de baile de fuego en 3speak. Este se hace en una puesta de sol. Me tomó algunos intentos conseguir este, ya que hacía demasiado viento el primer día que intenté filmar esto. Creo que resultó bastante bueno con el hermoso reminisent de la puesta de sol de fondo y solo poder ver mi silueta.

I am still on the beach in Puerto Escondido and it is another hot day here.
Here is my 2nd fire dancing video on 3speak. This one is done in a sunset. It took a few tries to get this one since it was too windy the first day I tried to shoot this. I think it turned out pretty good with the beautiful reminisent of the sunset in the background and only being able to see my silhouette.

Desde que estoy en la playa aquí en un Puerto Escondido, he estado ansioso por grabar algunos videos de fuego girando. Esto es lo que espero que sea uno de los muchos videos de fuego giratorio que tomaré mientras esté aquí. Me he centrado más en pinchar últimamente, así que estoy un poco oxidado con poi, ¡pero échale un vistazo! Tengo más de 15 años de experiencia con poi, así que no está mal. Since I'm on the beach here at a Puerto Escondido, I've been itching to shoot some fire spinning videos.

I've been focused more on DJing lately so I'm kind of rusty with poi but check it out! I have over 15 years of experience with poi so it's not bad. It's like riding a bicycle. :)

This is a recreation of DJ set that I played at the New Years Eve Party, Detroit Rave City.
I'm starting to really enjoy transitioning back and forth between breakbeat, house, and techno. I especially enjoy doing the transition from "Deekline ft. DJ Assault - One in the Front" to "Gala - Freed From Desire" @46:37. I need to work on the transition a bit better like wait to bring the mids in and get it on beat on first try but I really like the bassline of "Freed From Desire" with the beats from "One in the Front".

Estoy empezando a disfrutar mucho de la transición de ida y vuelta entre el breakbeat, el house y el techno. Disfruto especialmente haciendo la transición de "Deekline ft. DJ Assault - One in the Front" a "Gala - Freed From Desire" @46:37. Necesito trabajar en la transición un poco mejor, como esperar para traer los medios y ponerlo en ritmo en el primer intento, pero realmente me gusta la línea de bajo de "Freed From Desire" con los ritmos de "One in the Front".

Yesterday, I went to go check out Bosque De Chapultepec, a park in Mexico City.
I gotta say, wow, it's a huge park. I only got to check out like 1/4 of it.
Since it was Sunday it was filled with people and vendors. It was great to see everyone out to enjoy the nice weather.
One thing I was surprised at was how clean the park was with how many people there were. If this was in the US, there would be litter everywhere. It's nice to see that people here take pride in their parks and keep it clean.

Here is a 1 hour breakbeat mix that I just recorded. I'm going to Mexico in 1 day and I won't have my decks with me for few months so I'm trying to get some practice in.
Hopefully I can get 1 more recording in before I leave and share it with you guys.
For this one, I started out with two phonk tracks so technically this isn't an All breakbeat set. I think they make a good intro though.
The rest of the set is all breakbeat. If you watch until the end, you will hear some crappy attempt at scratching. lol. Gotta start somewhere and practice makes it perfect. :P

I spent my New Year at a rave with my friends. The party is called Detroit Rave City and it's one the longest running New Years party in Detroit.
I got to open the main stage as a DJ which was cool.
The first part of the video shows the dance floor during Plus Size Model's set. The second part of the video starting at 1:13 shows part of my DJ set.

Part 2: Popup Party at Venice Beach Los Angeles
This 3rd video is from Devil's Lake in the state of Wisconsin. I made a trip to Wisconsin to fire perform at a music festival and my friends and I visited this lake to hike up the mountain. The hike was very rocky and pretty steep but it only takes about 30mins to get to the top. At the top, there is a rock that's standing up on it's short side called Devil's Rock which you can see at 1:40 mark in the video.

Part 1: Homeless Experience in Echo Park, Los Angeles
This 2nd video is from a popup party that we did in Venice Beach. Due to the pandemic, we were not allowed to have indoor parties. So, we went to the warm beach to California all the way from cold winter hell Michigan to have a pop up party. Which was a good hit. Random people would stop by and just start dancing or just sit down to listen to the music. It didn't take long to have a crowd of people partying with us.
This showed me that all you really need is music is get people together. Sadly the party was cut short due to the LAPD. They were actually pretty cool about it and told us that they have to shut it down because of the gas generator. If we do this again, we need to think of an alternative power source like a battery pack.

Im really loving the whole 3speak platform. Finally an alternative to Youtube where you are not going to get anything for your content and you won't even get any views because of their annoying algorithm. Not to mention all the censorship and content restrictions.
I have alot of videos that I took but never uploaded on Youtube because what's the point?
Since the year is almost over, I'm going to post videos of my adventures this year. I'm now wishing I took more videos! XD
This first video is from Echo Park in Los Angeles. Homelessness is all over Los Angeles but Echo Park is one of the nicer place to stay if you are homelss(I actually did my research for my trip to LA since I didn't want to pay for a hotel). There was an actual community there. You can go grab some food from the food share and charge your phone at the phone charging station. There was a public restroom with about 12 stall and, few sinks with running water so you can wash up during the day under a California sun.
Pulling up to the park at night. See how some people are camping out in their RVs? There are people from all different social economic background here.
Rent in Cali is too damn high!
The park itself was very nice and clean.

Merry Christmas everyone!
It's kind of an uneventful Christmas for me so I've been practicing DJing for the New Years Eve show.
Here is a set that I played as a practice. It's mostly breakbeat with little bit of house music. It was a 1 hour set but my phone have cut it off at 45mins for some reason. It keeps doing that and Im not sure why. I use Motiv App to record it. If anyone have any ideas let me know.
