Battlefield Theologian Podcast is for individuals who wish to wage war against the secular culture and are willing to stand their ground on Scriptural truths, and Christian doctrine. Battlefield theologians know what they believe, and why they believe it and wish to train, teach, and prepare other Christians for the spiritual battlefield. Battlefield theologians are not hesitant nor do they shrink back from taking the teachings of Jesus to the people. Encouraging, equipping, and training yourself and others for the fight against secularism, theological liberalism, and Scriptures authority.

Here is a breakdown of the recent He Gets Us Super Bowl commercial that was aired.
The issues with this entire organization are many, and the deceitfulness is prevalent throughout all of this organizations goals and ambitions.
In this episode Ethan breaks down the ideological issues within the commercial and the campaign. Then the narrative of Jesus washing the disciples feet in the upper room from John 13, which is what the entire commercial is based around.

Rather Jesus came as a selfless sacrifice for the sins of His people (Is. 53:4-6,10-12; Eph. 5:2; Heb. 9:26; 10:12)
Jesus humbled Himself to the point of death, death on a cross (Phil.2:8) Peter needed to accept the fact that Jesus would be humiliated in this manner of execution.
Additionally, this washing and Jesus’s words also mean that ONLY those who are cleansed (washed) by Him would have a saving relationship with Him.
Washing was a biblical metaphor for a spiritual cleansing (Num.19:17-19; Zech.13:1; Acts 22:16; 1 Cor. 6:11)
And only those who place their faith in Jesus as the Lord of their life and confess their sins are cleansed by Him. (john 15:3; 1 John 1:7-9)

Many Christians struggle in the Christian life as it relates to their past sins prior to conversion following them into their Christian walk. Additionally, many Christians believe that when they repent they must continue to "act" or "live" a certain way that demonstrates they still feel guilty over their sin.
This is when sin becomes the identity for so many individuals as they allow the past sin to dominate their current walk. When we sin we feel guilty over our sin, but that is meant to lead us to repentance. Upon repentance, we move on, because Christ has forgiven us, and we should fight against returning back to that sin. However, we must not allow that sin that we have confessed and repented of to come back to dictate our thoughts and actions.
In this episode, I am joined by theologian R.C. Sproul as we discuss this issue that many are dealing with. In this episode, I reference one of R.C.'s blog articles that gave us the subject in dealing with this topic which you can find here.

The question we will be answering in this podcast is, do we need parachurch organizations? If so, to what end? What is the purpose of these entities and when if at all should local churches use them?
Additionally, we look at the conferences some of these organizations and ask the question are they beneficial or detrimental specifically, with some of the speakers they platform.
Many of these orginizations such as The Gospel Coalition start out doctrinally sound; however, several of the speakers they platform have questionable theological beliefs. We will highlight one such speaker Ann Voskamp with a brief review of her book "One Thousand Gifts" and the theological errors and false teaching that is baked within.

I created this for families to use to help teach their children the essential truths of Scripture. Listen to this as you drive, work around the house, or turn it on for your children at bedtime.
A question I often receive is, "Why should we memorize or use the shorter catechism in discipleship?" First, the Shorter Catechism gives us categories with which to understand Christian doctrine. False teaching abounds in this world. As children grow up and face challenges to their faith in college, few things will prepare them as well as a simple knowledge of the Catechism.
Second, the Catechism focuses on content. We live in an age in which doctrine is frowned upon and experience exalted. This misplaced emphasis has cut the church loose from its moorings in Scripture. The Catechism reminds us that our beliefs should shape our attitudes and actions, and not vice-versa.
Third, the Catechism is radically God-centered. From the very first answer, which says that “man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever,” the Catechism focuses our eyes on God. It consistently teaches that the Christian life is a God-centered life.
Fourth, the Shorter Catechism challenges parents and children to grow together in their understanding of God’s Word. Is it sometimes hard to discuss spiritual things within your family? Few things promote this better than learning the Catechism! Even though children might not fully understand the meaning of everything they memorize, it challenges them to grow in their knowledge and gives parents the opportunity to explain biblical truth to their children.

Unless you are living under a rock, there is a tremendous amount of controversy within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) concerning this issue. The SBC meets June 13-14, 2023, and one of the resolutions proposed by Tom Ascol you can read here. It is regarding the office of the pastor/elder and if women are able, according to Scripture fulfill this office. The question is not about ability, but it is biblical.
In this episode, I unpack the necessary systematics and hermeneutical understanding to arrive at a biblical answer concerning this question. There have been many who have written and addressed this subject far superior to myself; however, I have had several of the members at my church 5 Bridges in Panama City Beach as me to wade into the water to assist them in how to process all of the information.

What is a warrior mindset? Do you have one? How do you get one? What does the Bible outline for men regarding this? This is a critical question to ask because when men saturate themselves in the Word of God this will create and instill in them a mindset to that of a warrior which is desperately needed in our crooked generation and culture.
Defining biblical manhood is not difficult, yet so many men struggle to find their identity, purpose, mission, and calling in life. As men, we must not what our mission is and pursue after Christ and live a holy life. However, there are some practical items that must be addressed in defining what this looks like. In this episode, Garrett and Ethan discuss several verses for consideration and implementation in our life and real-world scenarios from SEAL training, deployments, and leadership philosophy defined and influenced by and from Scripture, not the culture.

Many of us had ambitions, goals, or dreams that we desired to achieve. However, many fail ever to actualize those goals and see them through to completion. In this episode, we look at several items that I wish to encourage you with regarding goals, purpose, relationships, and many other items in between. Additionally, we will discuss perfectionism, burnout, dating, marriage advice, parenting advice, mental resiliency, and much much more. The outstanding issue I see that feeds this in so many people is the effects social media has on men and women across the globe. Perfectionism by route of comparison drives many of us into a state of fear. Fear of rejection, failure, and not living up to some expectations.

Yes, I said it, but before you assume what this episode is about you need to listen to the full episode. This is not shunning beta males, this is calling out every man to be a Christian Alpha Male in the biblical sense. The culture constantly asserts masculinity is toxic, and men continually attempt to "fill in the gap" trying to become alpha male; however, the definition culture pushes on both false and unbiblical. Men must step up, lead, and guide their families. In this podcast, Ethan Jago breaks down the stigma many have in assuming what an "alpha male" is and what a "beta male" is and demonstrates through Scripture what and how a REAL MAN should be. The most significant question I have been asked over the years concerns the matter of Freewill. The term freewill is largely and completely misunderstood by so many individuals to mean something that it in fact does not mean when you use the words (free) & (will). Language has evolved over the years, phrases, sentences, and other items are continually changing their meaning. Often times people use words in the wrong context to mean the wrong thing leading to confusion and ambiguity..this is exactly the point and case with the term freewill.
When people use this term they interconnect the words (free) and (will) making them appear to be inseparable to define the conclusion they wish to make; however, that is in error. In this podcast, we look at and define what is the will and is it free? Is there a better way to use this term? Do people who use the term "freewill" use it in the proper biblical context?
Using Jonathan Edwards we will unpack this concept through examples, analogies, and stories to help you wrap your mind around this concept.

In this episode, Ethan discusses some research and statistical studies in relation to the decreasing amount of leadership from men. There are several academic and research studies looked at in this podcast indicating the effects of prenatal and preconception that can affect children prior to birth. Additionally, labor force statistics are showing a reversal in the workforce, and the church is also seeing a shift in church involvement for men. This episode is and can be both for men and women. Recently Ligonier ministries released their newest "State of Theology" survey. Ligonier in partnership with Lifeway research conducted a survey in which they posed specific questions regarding modern matters and items of theological beliefs held by U.S. Adults and Evangelicals. Their website states, "Every two years, we take the theological temperature of the United States to help Christians better understand today’s culture and equip the church with better insights for discipleship."

The 13th chapter of Hebrews ends with a focus on Christian ethics rooted in sound doctrine.
The first 11 chapters of Hebrews focus on those amongst the Hebrews who have not entirely accepted Christ, or those on edge to come the whole way and leave Judaism in the past. The rest of the book of Hebrews focuses on doctrine.
If we do not understand our doctrine we have no biblical basis for our ethics and we won’t understand the purpose and importance of morality for Christians Now Christianity is not a form of morality or conducting oneself inducts you into faith.
Christianity is knowing and understanding the doctrine and purpose of why we were created and allowing that knowledge to guide us in proper behavior. *This message was preached by Ethan Jago on Sunday morning July 17, 2022.
