Their are many characteristics that make successful companies thrive. Rob Fletcher grew up in the Japanese automotive industry where he saw many of these great characteristics in action, but he became extremely passionate about Lean Manufacturing (specifically the Toyota Production System). When he found out that there are many small to mid-sized companies that have never been exposed to these practices, he found great enjoyment in guiding companies in achieving performance that they had never experienced. As the leadership teams learned how to adopt these techniques for themselves, entire company cultures would shift from being chaotic, reactive and barely profitable, to a point of stability, proactive and highly profitable. This podcast is meant to be a forum to reach as many people as possible and share stories, lessons, techniques and advice to anyone that wants to learn about them.
This is a very interesting disucussion between two guys who love lean. I really enjoyed listening to Paul's approach to the Lean ideals as well as dealing with people. He covers a lot of ground and I'm sure you will totally enjoy listening in.

I always have to break the news to people that when they hire me, they probably aren't going to get what they expect at first. I'll explain just a little bit about what my approach is in this short episode. This is just to get you thinking, there will be a LOT more on this topic to follow.
This episode is VERY important to me. It's one of the most critical skills that I've learned in my career. I did the best I could to explain it verbally, but I will definitely add some visual aids later. Solving problems is what it's all about. There is a way that the most successful company's approach problem solving that is based on something you learned in high school and has been proven throughout time.
