SEASON 1 FINALE!!
High school pretty much held our hands on our way to the real world - if you were good at Maths, the world was your oyster. If you enjoyed Art, you'd be the one serving up the oysters. So how can schools today encourage kids the freedom to learn what they want without caging them into ticking certain criteria? How can schools teach kids to trust the decisions they want to make without depending on adults to make choices for them?
Physical Education was really one of those subjects which made you second guess if it was even a 'subject' or one of those filler episodes when the director ran out of actual episode ideas. But we break down the greater impact it would have had if it was treated as an essential piece of our school curriculum and the long term positive impacts of it in the future.
Get in loser, we're gonna talk about the exam curriculum and bring more awareness to how educational institutions should approach the exam structure and mindset with students from various backgrounds.
Remember that time you said 'no' and everyone thought you were this untamed, wild animal reeking havoc in the streets because you had no respect for your elders and were a menace to society because you decided to make a choice for yourself as opposed to pleasing others?
Oh you don't?... okay well that's a little awkward because that is all we speak about on this episode. We tap into how not saying 'no' when we were kids shaped our childhood, our time at school and the importance of saying 'no' in the real world.
'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle'... the holy trinity of Geography when we were 14. But turns out there was a lot more we could have done as kids to be more generous to the environment and to ourselves.
There will never be enough time in a lifetime to know everything there is about history, but what we do get to learn, it should be understood through as many people's narratives as possible... well that's what we think anyways.
We kept having our periods a secret so well the FBI should've hired us because we knew how to lock that shit down in high school.
No but seriously, keeping it a secret in a co-ed school was a skill in itself - this episode breaks down why we even needed to keep periods a secret in the first place and how we hope the mindset changes in high schools, for all genders.
'Can you pay my bills? Can you pay my telephone bills? Do you pay my automo' bills?'... genuinely we wish we had learnt how to back in high school.
