Welcome to the Here, Hold This service business podcast. We’re all about small businesses, especially ones in the service industry. Some of us had dads or maybe an uncle that showed us how to fix things. Usually, that meant we were just holding a light or the bolts while they did the work, but we learned from watching and then doing. That’s what this is all about. We want to share the nuts and bolts of small business and tell the stories of the people out there doing it so that you can learn how to take the next step in your business.

He shared his thoughts on how being curious and telling great stories brought him and the companies he works for success, and how a great story must help answer the burning questions of “Who am I?”, “Where did I come from?”, and “Why am I here?”

Michael Berardi is the general manager and co-founder of OCA Mocha, a coffee shop in our hometown of Arbutus. It's a coffee shop with a unique beginning and purpose and Michael has been there from the start. He's passionate about the community and helping to connect people, and he just so happens to do it with coffee, live music, and smiles. We learned about the ideas of “sociopreneurship” and how a coffee shop answered a question posed by the community of “How do we make Arbutus a college town and create a bridge between UMBC and the community?”
