With my 30th year coming to an end in 1 month and as I settle into my life in California, I've been more emotional and reflective recently. I was 13 years-old when I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy. Fast forward 17 years, I’m thriving and haven’t let this incurable sleep disorder hold me back. I left home at 17 years-old to attend New York University (NYU), studied abroad, traveled the world, had my heart broken, made lifelong friends, bonded with my family, became a New Yorker, moved back to California, launched a podcast, fell in love (again), and so much more. Through the highs and lows, I persevered because I didn’t want to let this disability dictate what I could do in life.
Today’s episode is the first of many and I hope it inspires you to embrace yourself and this life to the full extent. Life is a gift after all (cheesy yes, but a fact IMO).
