Most developers and software engineers spend their entire careers seeking SENIORITY.

I DID THE SAME for over 10 years without understanding how risky it was to play that game.

If you are on that path, here is some actionable advice for becoming a non-employable Founder:

  1. Aim for equity, not for paychecks.
  2. Measure your success by targeted income, not books, languages, or tools.
  3. Learn to market/sell yourself.
  4. Code for yourself harder than for your company.
  5. Become a founder.
  6. Understand markets.
  7. Seniority comes from extensive and constant hard work; it should not be a target, just a process.
  8. Set your free.

In this first Founder I/O podcast episode, we will discuss the below big ideas that will impact your life as first-time founder.

βœ… You can become a great founder with the right tools and workflows.
βœ… You can release a single product feature and get paid for a monthly subscription.
βœ… You can bootstrap your product and use AI tools to leverage every other area of your founder’s life.
βœ… If you choose this path, marketing (distribution) is as important as the product you are building.
βœ… Build it in public (use Twitter for that).
βœ… If you want to become a successful founder, you must do marketing; you must do it yourself, even if you can pay for it.

Thousands of years ago Aristotle presented a classification of knowledge with 3 structures and/or components, he divided and simplify the complexity of human knowledge into three forms.

  1. Episteme = scientific knowledge.
  2. Techne = skill and crafts
  3. Phronesis = practical wisdom

In formal education, the **episteme** is often the main goal when learning and teaching, and that’s one of the big problems today by the way.

Learning theories and concepts, with litter emphasis on **techne** or what is the same, with litter emphasis on practical skills and scientific methods is like walking on an endless sidewalk.

Learning to Learn, The System.

I used to buy a lot of books, most of them are read right away, others I forgot why or when I bought them.

I started to do an inventory trying to know which books were read and which were not, fortunately for me I found a bug to fix, but the findings were astonishing and sad.

In total, I had 145 physical books and only 45 read, which is low for me, but the worse thing was that I was only able to recall just a few ideas on a few of them.

Something was wrong and had to be changed.

That moment, I put away all my goals for a complete month and I started to figure and find out a different way to read and learn.
