This is the Livestream of our Sunday morning worship service from 02/09/2025. In this sermon, we look at Joshua 6 and the Fall of Jericho. Joshua and the people of Israel must recognize that the LORD God has already secured the victory for them, but that they must go in and take possession of their inheritance. It is all of God's power and grace; all they must do is exercise faith in God and His promises, and obey His commands. This reminds us that Christ has already won the victory for us; we must trust in Christ and obey His Word to us, and the victory will be ours.
This is the Livestream of our Sunday morning worship service for 2/2/2025. In this sermon we are in Joshua chapter 5. Chapter 5 acts as a transition chapter, going from the people of God entering the land, to the people of God taking the land. Joshua and the people of Israel have crossed the Jordan River; they are in the Promised Land. And yet there are some final elements of preparation which are needed prior to engaging in the battle for victory. There is need of covenant commitment, celebration of a memorial meal, and recognition of who it is that fights for Israel.

They were a new generation, going to a new land, under a new leader. God will commission Joshua, telling him to be strong and courageous, and promising to be with him wherever he goes.

In this sermon, we are in Mark 14:53-72, and we see Peter following the Lord Jesus at a distance, then the Lord enduring His trial before the Sanhedrin, which was full of false accusations. Lastly, we see Peter again, being recognized in the courtyard and denying the Lord Jesus three times. In this whole passage, only the Lord Jesus gives true testimony--He is the Christ, the Son of God, and the Son of Man.

The Lord Jesus enters into an intense agony of the soul. He demonstrates His great love for His Father's will and for His people's salvation.

We also see Him announce that He will be betrayed by one of the Twelve. And He invests new meaning into some of the elements of the Passover meal as He institutes the Lord's Supper.

In this passage, the Lord Jesus has a conversation with a scribe, who comes with a question about the greatest commandment. The Lord Jesus responds by giving the double love command--Love God supremely with all that you are, and love others genuinely as you love yourself.
