Someone Smart Says writing letters saves lives
In this episode, we will talk about the Write for Rights campaign.
Write for Rights is an annual global letter-writing campaign by Amnesty International where millions of people join to demand justice for human rights defenders who have wrongfully been imprisoned or whose rights have been violated. Through the power of people, there have been activists freed from prison and the campaign has been proven to be highly effective.
I talked to Joke Schaapman who has been volunteering for Amnesty International for over 20 years. She started writing letters as a young girl and has never stopped!

Trigger warning we will also discuss heavier subjects in this episode like drugs, violence, a hostage situation, and the effects of poverty.
