2 gyalz in their 20's sharing their journey with God, real, raw and vulnerable. We've had this on our hearts for ages and the move to do this isn't one we're super comfortable with but its out of obedience to what we believe God is asking of us. Listen to us chat with each other and others about how goood God is and continues to be. We hope you take something out of it
We just finished a Bible plan together on the book of Malachi. In this episode we talk about what we each got out of the book of Malachi. We talk about what we are offering God, how sometimes God is pursuing a relationship with us and though we know the goodness of God, our hearts aren't ready to commit to Him fully.
Its been a long time but we're finally back! In this episode Fane realizes she hasn't had time to really sit with herself to know how she really is doing. We somehow start talking about to do lists and then on to things we consume on the daily. We talk about how we hear from God and how we can hear from Him clearer. We talk about what we've read in the word lately and realize that we already know how to get our lives together, we just don't have our lives together lol but we know how to ! We're a little all over the place but it's good to be back. Toe pe 'ae consistency.
We were initially supposed to talk about something totally different in this episode but hadn't seen each other in a while. It felt like a long time and we hadn't done our "CHECK-INS" in a while. Check-ins are a thorough way of finding out where the other person is at in loifeee. We are each other's accountability partner so it is important for us to be really honest about our struggles, our goals, areas we really wanna improve in and areas we need the other to pray over. We thought that we would do quick check ins to start off episode 5, but jokes on us because since when did we ever have a 5 minute check-in ? It turned into a whole episode. We cover how we're doing spiritually, physically, mentally, relationally and update each other on work and career. Inspired by @coolstorybro.nz on Instagram, shot boysss
In this episode we chat about self care on the daily. The importance of taking care of oneself whatever the season in your life may be. From home to the workplace, self care practices mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. We believe that by filling up your cup (through self care) you, in return are able to pour into the lives of those around you. This is basically a snippet of our take on self care and why we think it is vital.
In our third episode we touch on some of our insecurities growing up, words or labels spoken over us and how its affected the way we see ourselves now. We talk about beauty standards and body acceptance. We discuss how our insecurities have affected our mental health and how far we have come from criticizing ourselves to embracing ourselves more.
In our second episode, we talk all things friendship. We share our takes on what friendship means to us and likeee, what is a friend anyway? We chat about what our friendship is like and describe each other in 3 words. We discuss some red and green flags in friendships, our friendship goals, like what kinda friend do you aspire to be? We wanna be those Mark 2 typa friends who go above and beyond for the other. We go deeper sharing a bit about our mental health journeys and how friendships have been vital to getting out of some really low points in our lives.
In this episode we unpack what Matthew 5:13 means to us. Our name was inspired by the call over our lives according to this verse; to be the salt of the earth. The Bible uses a lot of analogies that can be confusing sometimes unless talked about. What does it mean to be the salt of the earth? What does that look like in our everyday lives? We focus on 3 uses of salt, salt used to preserve, salt used to season and salt used to purify. We all know how this is applied in the literal sense, but we discuss how these 3 uses of literal salt can be used in our actual lives as Christians (in our opinion). These conversations are our own opinion, taken from things we've experienced ourselves, seen, read or have been taught. It's to open up discussions on topics or to trigger a thought process.
In our pilot episode, we're sitting on a dusty floor of a storage room, with a borrowed mic right before we head to work. Here we introduce ourselves and talk a little about our why's for starting this podcast. We talk about our friendship and how its influenced our intentions behind this podcast. It's also just a real brief explanation on what to expect as we continue this journey together. We also announce the release date of our first episode (September 21st) and what you could possibly hear there. Still trying to get comfy here, its still new but we're here ready to grow. Stay saltyyyy
